Good place to get Korean food if you're already shopping at Saraga in Castleton. Lots of traditional Korean entrees, but it is pretty expensive. Servings are pretty big, and the food tastes good but not the best Korean food I've had. Each meal usually comes with 4 side dishes, which aren't my favorite but are still good. Overall, it's probably the best place to get food at the Saraga food court. read more

Well very interesting concept. There are a few international restaurants inside the grocery store it's a global store and quite nice. I had a doctors appt in the area and wanted to find something different. I always have enjoyed Korean food and was excited about trying this place. It is pretty casual just go up to the counter and order. They have a few standard Korean dishes you would expect to choose from . I chose the beef bulgogi bento box. First its a good amount of food. I was able to eat all but maybe half the rice. Also the rice was excellent very sticky and fresh. I loved the potstickers they were my favorite part of the box. Also there was coleslaw which was ok would have rather had Kimchi. The beef was ok but previous places where I have had it it had more sauce this preparation didn't have any sauce. The beef was seasoned but not spicy. The food was ready very quickly. As a bonus you can then shop the grocery store for amazing items to take home later. read more

There's a food court inside of Saraga and this is one of the options. I love how you can eat while at the grocery store. My mom and I decided to eat here before we shopped. There was no line so we ordered right away. The lady that worked the register gave us a sensor device that buzzed when our order was ready. The food didn't take much time to be ready, the sensor went off, and we went to the counter to pick up our food. My mom and I shared the beef bulgogi bento box which was around $20. It came with a lot of food, plenty for my mom and I, I even had to put some in a to go box. We both enjoyed our meal. My mom doesn't like spicy and she said it was really good flavor for her. The restaurant is conveniently located inside of Saraga. The easing is not private but feels more like a cafeteria setting. The staff were patient and friendly. The food was just okay. The soup needed a lot of added salt (like 5 packets). It was good after being doctored up. The portion size was a bit disappointing. There was only a few pieces of tofu and barely any meat. For the price, it was basically hot water with some cabbage and spices. The side dishes were okay, but the chayote was incredible. I would come back here! read more

SGD is a solid Korean restaurant within Saraga Castleton. It is a little pricey, but the portions are great. We got the pork bulgogi and the chicken stone bowl bibimbop which were both fantastic. The kimchi pancake was a solid appetizer, but not really worth the price. Overall great option for Korean food with good portions. This specific location falls short in terms of quality of soup. It felt heavier on the MSG and overall flavor was not as robust as other places. I love tofu soup! I ordered the Soon-Tofu soup and beef bulgogi bento. Medium spice for the soup wasn't too spicy for me but I am used to eating spicy food, so I'd suggest lowering the spice amount (if you can make that request, I'm not sure if you can) if you aren't used to it or getting the spicy one if you are. If you get plain though you won't get any spice at all. With the soup, you get to choose two Korean side dishes. SGD is located in Saraga. There is a small "food court" and the tables are close together, so if you plan to eat there, plan to share a table with others if your party is small. It felt a little too cramped for me, but it was lunchtime when I went! There was always a line, so be prepared to wait. The food was good and reasonably priced for the amount you get compared to other Korean places. I really enjoyed the tofu soup and the bulgogi was just right. read more

My first time trying this place was through DoorDash and it was good! I ordered Bibibimbap and kimchi pancake. Both had great flavor but pancake was warm. Today we finally tried it in person and it made me so happy!! I LOVE dolsot bibimbap and what I got was delicious! My only complaint is that the bowl is pretty shallow! They have great selection of Korean food including bibimbap, bulgogi, short rib galbi but their signature dish is spicy tofu soup. You can choose protein for your soup and as a Korean(because this is a Korean dish), I would recommend seafood. It includes shrimp, mussel and others. Main dish/soup comes with three side dishes(ban chan) including kimchi. I'll take what I can! Indy finally has a couple more Korean stops coming! I'm from Chicago and one of the things I miss the most is the many options of Korean restaurants/bakeries/etc available. At the food court located in the new(er) Saraga International Market (at Castleton) has a Korean French-inspired bakery, Korean Corn Dog (Korn), and SGD. I was excited because I do love Sundubu-jjigae (Soft tofu soup/stew). Both times, I ordered the Soon Tofu Soup (Sundubu-jjigae), Hot, with Beef. It was good, but not great. But I am biased, since I've been to an actual SGD restaurant while living in Chicago. There's something about the food court-version of SGD that's a little different. But, it's not enough to stop me from going for my sundubu fixing (hence the first sentence). My friends have tried the Beef Short Ribs, Kimchi Stew, and Beef Short Rib Soup. The loved the Kimchi Stew and Beef Short Rib Soup, but the Beef Short Ribs (bbq) was not as great. Overall, I'm glad they finally opened a location in Indy. Great new little Korean spot in the new Saraga in Castleton. Simple menu with less than 15 items. It's nice that the entrees come with the little sides of buckweat noodles and kimchi. We were there for an hour and a half from about 1:30-3 and there was a solid line of 10 people the entire time. The staff were working hard to keep up with the demand. Great Korean restaurant which is a chicago chain. Is not a bbq restaurant in sense of cooking the meats table side, is in small food hall located inside saraga international market in castleton. Signature dishes are korean stews, my favorite being soon tofu, which is spicy stew with kimchi, tofu, beef, rice cake that is served in cast iron bowl boiling with side of rice. Absolutely delicious. They also have the classics such as spicy pork, spicy chicken, bulgogi, jopchae, etc. Highly recommend. Indy is severely limited in Korean restaurants and wish something like this would open downtown as there are literally zero Korean restaurants within 465 loop of this city, pretty outrageous! read more

Came here for lunch on an impulse as was fairly impressed by the quality of the food coming out of such a small area. We ordered a few different things that the cashier had recommended. The first was the Dolsot bibimbop and the second was the kimchi stew. The food came out relatively quickly and we took it back to the communal seating area shared by the other restaurants in there. The bibimbop came out piping hot.-- as it should-- right away, and we could hear the rice getting crispy on the bottom. Unlike other bibimbop that I've had, this one didn't come with sautéed mushrooms, or a cracked egg. I think this particular dish lacked a bit of umami that the fried egg and mushrooms would have helped with. I felt that the kimchi stew was a little bit better, but also very spicy. Overall, it's a decent and quick Korean restaurant to go to if you are in the area. It is also significantly cheaper than some of the other Korean restaurants in the area. read more

I've only ordered takeout here but the food is great. I feel like you get your bang for your buck as well. I always get fried dumplings and kimchi stew with extra rice. Sometimes the rice isn't cooked perfectly but it's still a nice place to eat. They often close before Saraga does though, so I would get there before it gets too late into the night, especially on week days. read more
