The business was closed for the winter but when it opened this year it seems the staff have been revitalized. The food is coming out on point as far as the cook and presentation is concerned. The staff is extremely nice and service with a smile. Although the food isn't made from scratch it is being prepared perfectly. I would like to see something authentic made even if it is just a special. I would like to see more than just tuna and frozen tempura shrimp for the sushi. The place is a great spot to try in a perfect location. If the menu was revised I know it would be a packed house. I would recommend the business removing all supplies from the customers area, hallway and the general customers view. Now it is called Asian Garden 2 serving Korean, Chinese, and Vietnamese dishes. We just had some Chinese food there tonight but I can tell you it was the most terrible Chinese food I ever had in my life. We ordered Chinese family meal for two that came with Mongolian beef, teriyaki chicken, and sweet & sour pork, plus a few other small dishes. Every one of them was awful - overcooked meat, undercooked veggies, salty, and sugary. They forcefully added tips to the bill when you pay at the counter. Unbelievable! The Pho meatball soup was tasty. The cook overcooks the protein, the tempura, the pork tonkatsu were both overcooked. To add insult to injury, they brought sweet and sour sauce instead of tempura dipping sauce for the tempura. The shrimp tempura was tough, the pork dry, both from being overcooked. This family also owns Little Tokyo and Asiana Garden, also overcooks the protein. Not recommended for any of these. read more

Was planning to have pho, but since I'm in Alaska decided to have grilled mackerel. They have two types and I had the atka mackerel (described as softer = not as fishy). It was delicious and grilled to perfection. It was offered with rice and a variety of the typical side dishes. Understand that it just opened last March and look forward to many more meals in future visits to Juneau. Service was excellent and jazz background music makes this a great find. read more

After a weekend filled with rich foods from other local Juneau restaurants, we were excited to find a place with some great pho. We ordered some rolls that we inhaled right away. The pho was perfectly seasoned and had plenty of fixings in it. It seemed like they grilled the meat before putting it in, but it was delicious all the same. Afterwards, we were served a slice of watermelon, which was the perfect palate cleanser. They were very hospitable and had great service. Highly recommend. read more

We are on a cruise and stopped at this restaurant for lunch and when we got the bill they automatically added 20% gratuity to our bill and it was just my husband and I. No where was a sign notifying of this charge. Food was terrible. read more

This was an interesting experience for sure. I will start with our warm greeting. Followed by really really quick service which seemed a little too quick? Borderline instantaneous which was a bit weird. Anywho our Rangoon's were pretty good definitely a good value ! We promptly were served our entrees chicken yakisoba and steak pho. The broth on the pho was tasty but the steak left more to be desired..it was definitely missing some of the necessities like onions, jalapeños and tahi basil. The yakisoba on the other hand was quite flavorful. The chicken had vibrant taste accompanied by lots of veggies like broccoli, mushroom , zucchini and scallions along with bean sprouts. The main reason that I'm not giving this three stars instead of four is because the entire time we were eating our server and presumably the owner were watching us eat. Whatld have been a glorious change in Juneau's food scene has fallen FLAT. It's Korean menu was amazing, but extremely pricy. So now this place serves the exact same menue as it's partner in crime Asiana Garden in the valley. And yes the food is a crime. Over cooked and oily nothing and I mean nothing is safe to eat. It's always dry and tasteless, the staff is some what friendly as long as your not returning you meal because it's not eddible​. read more

Serving both Korean and pho, I was a bit skeptical of their ability to deliver a genuine dish for my family to feast on but my doubts soon were forgotten as both pho and soft tofu soup had disappeared as soon as it touched our table. Korean side dishes were sooo good, it alone was enough for me to finish my bowl of rice with. Pho soup was so crisp and refreshing, if it wasn't for my cruise ship and their tight schedule I would've gone here from breakfast to dinner. This brand new establishment in downtown is offering up Korean selections along with traditional Vietnamese Pho. I can't yet attest to the deliciousness of the Korean side but Husband almost licked his bento box clean. He very much enjoyed every bite of his kalbi and I loved my Steak Pho. The customer service was impeccable our waitress was a family member to the owner and made us feel right at home. She remembered my husband, myself and both our children from our time in Juneau 7 years ago, I mean seriously, it doesn't get any better than that. Hate to do this as I'm a local and have always loved Asiana Garden and their restaurants/food but I am honestly really upset. My boyfriend and I went out tonight to get some food from them. We sit down, we order, the food was good (it's been better). We notice the other tables are being chatted with and waited on more consistently than ours, not that big of a deal. However, this is the kicker. We get our check. $59. Why is that surprising? Because we ordered $39 worth of food with the sales tax it should've been $40.95. So you better bet I grab a menu and start doing the math. Still isn't adding up. The waitress notices what I'm doing and rushes over, admitting to the $18.05 "GRATUITY" tip added to our total! No where in the restaurant does it advertise that you will be charged a tip! And then she has the AUDACITY to say, "be sure to add your tip, too!" NO!? We are two people. We are quiet. We are clean. We eat and leave 30 minutes before the restaurant closes. Not only was the waitressing half-assed, but they forgot to even give my boyfriend the lime with his "lime and hot sauce" for the Pho he ordered. We are so happy to finally have some Korean food in Juneau. Korean food is spicy, healthier than Western food, and very satisfying. We especially love their dolsot bibimbob, japchae and sundubu. Miss the kimchee spread though! We need more people to order their Korean food. The owners are lovely. We wish they wouldn't play so much Western pop music and smooth jazz. read more

Man this place is absolutely terrible. I have ordered from them 3 times. Probably the worst asian cuisine i have ever had, and i've lived in alot of places. The general tso is always soggy and tastes terrible, their soup had freakin' sandwich meat roast beef in it, and their pork bulgogi, oh god how to describe the pork bulgogi? The smell was nauseating. It tasted absolutely awful. I almost vomited after a few bites. I'm all for giving places second and third chances. No more after this last time. We ordered from the Korean menu... so good! We got soft tofu stew and squid stir fry. Very generous portions. We are more than stuffed!!!! Very Friendly service, close to Four Point Hotel (practically next door). And best of all, the Kim chae was nice and spicey. Owner explained they have reduced their once extensive Korean menu and added other options due to customer preferences, but it appears they are doing a good job juggling it all. Awesome Korean food! Visiting from NYC and staying local. I ordered the kimchi sundubu and it was simply good. Tofu was tender, kimchi left some spice on lips. Loved the typical Korean sides. My dad got the galbi (short rib) (first Korean food for him ever) he said "delicious and tender" and left his plate empty. read more

On my visit to Juneau, I came to Korea Garden two days in a row for dinner! Once for pho and once for soft tofu with beef (the server, I think was surprised that this is what I wanted? It's one of my all time favorite foods!). They do a version of traditional korean "service" which includes kimchi and other small vegetable plates--American potato salad was a new one, but it was still tasty. The staff is very nice and the food is delicious asian comfort food. It really hit the spot!! read more
