I have to agree with everyone else: this restaurant is extremely unassuming and extremely good. It's located in a strip mall near the airport. If you are a tourist in downtown Juneau...it's so good you should take a special trip up here! It is very hard to describe the genre/style of eatery this is. Best I can do is that it reminds me of some of the more eclectic eateries found in Hawaii. The food is equal parts French bakery (if this place were ONLY a bakery, it would be one of the best places in Juneau), BBQ stand, and Pho slurpery. Sound weird? It does *sound* weird, but it just completely works in person. Everything here is thoughtfully hand made with great attention to detail. Just pick something on the menu you vaguely like and you will be blown away. I got some baked goods for a hike one day, a breakfast burrito another, and some BBQ meat on my third visit. (that's right, I was in Juneau for 4 days and came here 3 times!)

Zerelda's was recommended by a born-and-raised local so had to try it! We looked at the menu online the night before and planned out what we'd order for brunch on a Sunday. The menu had been updated overnight by the time we arrived and the salmon cake benedict (what I planned to order) had been removed :( I asked the lovely woman at the register if it was still available and within minutes several staff members (not sure if management, ownership, etc) had greeted me and explained that the menu was just updated and the Benedict was removed because there wasn't a demand. They also offered to modify several dishes and offered suggestions to try to accommodate my diet. It's apparent that these women really care about their business and their customers. We tried the burrito deconstructed into a bowl and it was HUGE and delicious! We also tried the quiche - a bit on the salty side and also very generous portion with a super fresh salad. The chai latte was watered down and the house coffee a bit burnt tasting. We wanted to try so many things from the pastry cabinet but decided to behave they even have a massive GF cookie! Loved the care behind this establishment.

Came in for lunch today. The place is a nice cozy little bistro. The place does get busy, there is limited seating inside and out. Staff is very friendly. Had the pulled pork burrito and special sweet potato with ginger bisque. The salsa was very good as well as the burrito As with everything here, it's pricey but it's a good place to come.

Had an amazing lunch at Zelda's Bistro! We tried the soup of the day -- meatball soup -- and the lunch special, pulled pork tacos. Both were absolutely delicious! The service was friendly and attentive, and the cozy atmosphere made the experience even better. Everything we saw coming out of the kitchen looked fantastic, and they have a great selection of pastries, too. Definitely a spot worth checking out!

I LOVE the food here. I don't live in Juneau but this is one of my "must eat" spots when I go. Locals often recommend it. Every thing is delicious and the desserts /pastries are to notch. The service is great except for one counter employee who always seems unhappy and short on patience but every one else seems genuinely happy to see you. I love this place.

Great food and customer service! Top 3 restaurants in Juneau. The pickles used to be fried.

What a great little find in Juneau! This was my first time getting to explore the town, and I'm happy that my indecisive mind was finally able to settle on Zerelda's. I called my order in and the employee was funny, a little quirky and had a cool energy about her. I was quoted about 10 minutes for my Pork Katsu Sandwich and Garlic Fries, and was on my way to the location. When I arrived, the atmosphere was very relaxed and the restaurant was quite clean. They offered a nice seating area, and if I weren't wanting to just head back and relax in my hotel room, I would've been happy to eat there. The glass case of extra meals and desserts were so well presented and made me want to order everything!! I decided to add a side of the Kimbap Rolls to my order, and headed back to my hotel with both items. The meal smelled amazing and I could wait to dig in! The fried were cooked great, and the garlic parmesan topping was delicious. The Pork Katsu marinade had a great tangy taste (which actually doubled well as a little dipping sauce for the fries!), and the patty was hearty and flavorful. I loved the addition of pickled onions, fresh cucumbers, and the aioli they added was the icing on an already great sandwich. The Kimbap Rolls did not disappoint! Loved the taste of the seaweed and carrots inside, and the bite of the dipping sauce that came along with them. As someone that lives in the lower 48, the pricing of the food was a little higher than I'd prefer, but understandable considering the costs involved with getting quality products to the area. Overall, highly recommend this spot!!!

Um yes I'm reviewing Zereldas for the 20th time. My fellow Yelpers, you have found the golden goose of Yelp. This IS the spot. The mecca of flavor and ridiculously good food. EVERY single damn thing that comes out of their kitchen is the single most delicious thing I've ever ate. I know freaking dramatic and I could be bias. But I'm not bias. Why? Because its the honest to God undisputable truth. Now the key to Zereldas is their daily specials. Order the special. Whatever it is, it will blow your mind and brake tha mouth. These guys are the Picassos of food. The chefs of GODS.. Not only that but the dessert case has absolutely ridiculous homeade sweet goodies for upsurdley low prices. I got like the most gourmet, top shelf pineapple upside down mini cake. This thing is probably WAY better than what the rich people get their private chefs to make. And I only paid freaking $8.50 for it. Maybe $8.50 sounds crazy for a mini cake but I can assure you it is in fact way too low of a price for the sheer epicness going on here. I really do think she should atleast charge $15. I mean, even that's too low. Anyway now I'm ranting. Go here, order the special, pick some gourmet next level bake goodfrom the case, then eat it all. Who cares if you get fat. It doesn't matter. We all get a 1 way ticket in this life. So better enjoy it by shoving the best damn food in Alaska down the hatch. Plus your in Juneau, it's beautiful here. Your surrounded by the fairy forrest. After you shove your face, go for a hike. Make sure to carry bear spray and one of those blow horns. Bears like people who smell amazing.... Just saying. Also, make sure to tip atleast 20% even on your takeout order. These guys work hard, kick ass and make GOD FOOD. The least you could do is give a nice tip.

    Delicious pork belly umami ramen.

I've had the ramen and the phó here and both were excellent! Quiet, intimate space with plenty of seating inside and outside. You order your meal at the counter and someone brings it out to you, but you bus your own table, which doesn't bother me. I really like this place!

    George L.

I still think this is one of the best places in town for a real meal not from Costco. The creativity is great and the staff friendly. I do think the two different lines to check out is confusing because you can only order certain foods from one counter then you have to go to the other line to order something different. I had the wings and the dish was great but I believe a dish put together so well to be eaten with a fork should be made with boneless chicken thighs because they retain the moisture but keeps things clean. Wings are a finger food so why eat half your dish with a fork and then the wings by hand. Otherwise perfect.

Is this an indication of faster service? Or is it because the food is worse? We ended up picking a pork skewer to compare. Pork Skewer ($8) - The first piece I ate seemed to be superior to the Carillo's version - still with the sticky sweet savory sauce, but a fattier and juicier piece of meat in the center. Subsequent pieces destroyed my initial impression. This business seems to be using very low quality cuts of meat, filled with fat and gristle, making the meat very difficult to chew and eat. In addition, some pieces of the meat taste old, as if they are close to rotting, kind of a nasty flavor that made me not want to finish the skewer. I guess the only real advantage as that the skewers they serve are larger than that of Carillo's? (2/5) Well, I certainly learned why the blue tent had a longer line... Maybe the chicken skewers and other food served at Bernadette's are better? I'm not sure, but I certainly won't be revisiting.

The menu offers most of your popular items. I spied sisig so I definitely had to get an order of that. I also got an order of lumpia and turon. The sisig was a smallish portion wrapped in foil but it was really delicious. This version tasted different than others I've had at restaurants and there was a definite spicy kick to it. The lumpia and turon were also quite good with a crispy outer shell and plentiful filling. Service was friendly and it took a few minutes for the lumpia and sisig to be ready for us and the turon was premade so we only needed to grab one from the stack on the cart. Since Bernadette's is a food cart, you could say the ambiance is the surrounding port area which is a scenic place to sit off to the side and eat your tasty meal.

So after finding out that the other restaurant was not open at all that day we came back for a second time. Both times staff greeted us and told us to sit where we liked. Fish inside was white and flaky. Fries are the hop salt fries. Little cup of tartar and a lemon wedge. The fish was good. I will give them that. But $38 for two pieces of fish and some fries is ridiculously stupid. That is just price gouging for the cruise crowd. Really disappointed we paid that. Service was moderate at best. Nobody was rude. Nobody was all that on it either. And watch out for the birds. They have pigeons walking around on the wood floor inside the building. One was pecking crumbs right by the glass where the kegs are. They take off and flap over the tables too. Feathers and the occasional bird doo doo. There is no way somebody hasnt gotten splattered at some point. Would eat the fish again if it was half the price. Not rushing back at $38.

It was just the way I remembered having it when restaurants used to serve Alaskan king crab legs. They're super fat meaty long legs. It was warmed up and served with lemon and butter. It was just enough for two of us. It probably would not have fed my son. He is a big eater and he would have ordered a steak. If I was hungry or had a crab craving, it might not have been enough for just me. We've also been over eating on a cruise ship for 6 days. We shared the apple crisp ala mode for dessert. It was not crisp but it did have some crumbs thrown on top like a cobbler. It was in a warm sauce and topped with ice cream. It's a cute place with a wharf view. The tables are not on top of each other. They gave us plenty of napkins and a bib too. If I lived in the area, I would be back every month for the calamari & onion rings, and yes the crab legs.
