    Bugolgi bowl
    Whit D.

Craving local Korean food... but wanted takeout so wouldn't miss the World Series. We ordered two bowls one was bugolgi and the other was chicken gang jeong . The bugolgi was very tender. The chicken jeong, you were allowed to pick a sauce...my husband picked spicy. Decent spice level, but not as spicy as he would have liked. The bowls came with rice and veggies such as cabbage, broccoli and carrots- which was delicious and healthy . However wish the bowls came with sauce :for example even just soy sauce . If you want jalpeno cucumbers or kimchi they charge fifty cents each for two oz container. Wish that woulda just came automatically with an entree; maybe just charge for extra portions. Food was warm, plentiful and ready on time for take out.

Chicken (don't know name) crispy and tasty with white rice. Another hit!

Service was pleasant but I was indifferent to my food. I placed my order to go and it took about 15 minutes to complete. Everything was sealed well although I wished take out orders included some banchan. *Kimchi Pancake: had slight crisp and was packed with kimchi. There wasn't much dipping sauce included so it was bit simple in flavor. Good if you enjoy acidic and vinegary kimchi. Thankfully I do so it was a good appetizer. *Bulgogi Bowl: a hefty bowl filled with marinaded beef, vegetables and rice. The rice was rather mushy and the vegetables had a strange smell. The beef was tender but the marinade was subtle. The marinade needed more garlic, pear and soy sauce. I wasn't impressed with the food, especially for the higher than average cost per dish. Everything came out hot and plentiful so that's a plus but I wouldn't drive out to try the Korean food here.

Food was good and the server was super nice! The place is not super big but it is a decent size. We got a variety of things, including the beef ramen that we forgot to take a picture of.

Well hello, Tulare, CA. I see you with the legit Korean option. We actually found this place by accident. I just happened to be in the Targét parking lot on the corner of SR-63/Mooney Boulevard and Prosperity Avenue in Tulare. I actually first noticed the Asian Grill restaurant. I went in to see if it would be open for a weekend lunch, and got lots of information from the nice worker inside. I did not notice (and she did not mention before I left) that there was another restaurant in the same parking lot just a stones throw away. My family showed up Sunday afternoon, and Asian Grill wasn't open just yet. But Korean Chili was. So we decided to go for it. I'm glad we did. The food was excellent, the service was fast, and the restaurant was very clean. There were three of us for lunch, and we ended up trying three different appetizers, and three main dishes. Our appetizers were the tempura scromp-scromps (shrimp), the vegetable egg rolls, and the Gim Ma Ri (fried glass noodles wrapped in seaweed). All three were excellent. For our main dishes, we tried the Spicy Chicken dish, the Sam Gyup Sal (pork belly), and the Bulgogi Rice Bowl. All three were delicious. I got a spice level one on the chicken, because I wanted my family to be able to try it. I didn't think it was very spicy. A little bit of spice, but even my son who can't handle the spice was OK trying a bite. My son finished his pork belly dish, and my wife and I had just a little bit left from each of ours. We combined them for a single serving of leftovers, which was great. I always enjoy having a little bit to take with me for a snack or even a small meal later. Makes the value a little bit better in my opinion. The prices here were not super cheap, but they weren't too expensive either. Reasonable in today's day and age I suppose. And the service was very friendly. The same worker I spoke to at the Asian grill the other day was there. We also had a young girl as our server. She was very friendly and helpful with recommendations. I would definitely recommend the Korean Chili for a visit, especially if you like Asian food. There are so many great options we will definitely have to go back to try more.

This place is bomb! We stumbled by this place by chance since our Target run became a run to have lunch. The food selection is awesome and is an excellent slice of Korea here in Tulare. Excellent service, great attention to detail, and made sure we had everything we needed. The ambiance was awesome, a grab and go spot but also plenty of space to sit down and enjoy a delicious meal with good Korean beer.

We came here for lunch and this has awesome Korean food. The service was incredible and they were very attentive to all our needs. We order the chicken bowl, bulgogi bowl, kimchi fried rice, and beef pot stickers. All of the dishes were wonderful and had great flavor. If you are looking for Korean food give this small family own place a try you will not be disappointed.

Super great Korean food, great service and good banchan. Open on Sundays. Really enjoy the kalbi and soft tofu soup, stone pot bibimbap, ttoepokgi 7/5 stars because of the banchan and extra service by owner. They bring the fresh goods from Korea.

The spicy noddles (mild with Egg) was amazing. The service and food were pretty quick and it came out very hot. Amazing.

The first time I tried this spot was probably 8 years ago and it was good. The bf and I typically travel out of the Central Valley for Korean food. We decided to make a local date day by driving to Tulare to try Korean Chili together. Great and kind service. It is busy. I appreciated that the server is honest about how long the wait will be. They were accommodating for vegetarian options. We ordered the vegetable pancake, tofu soup, bulgogi, and rice cake appetizer. The banchan was okay and we enjoyed it while waiting for our meal. We would have liked if it was refilled more. The pancake center was a bit soft and undercooked, probably rushed with how busy they are. Overall, it was okay and probably better than the options in Fresno. We probably don't plan to make a trip again but had fun romanticizing the CV. I can understand the crowds that line up here and glad it is thriving in Tulare!

I had high hopes for this place. That I skipped breakfast and lunch for this. Well I always skip breakfast lol but I was starving. On Yelp I didn't see that I was closed from 4:00-4:30. We ended up killing time at target. The place is small limited seating. Waitress and customer service was okay. I noticed other tables were constantly looking for her as were we and it's only a few tables. This place had very small portions and was expensive. We ordered two apps. They definitely did not look at pictures very deceiving. One pic showed how it looked and the quantity it did not match. In the picture it should like 6 small rice cakes and we got 3 . The other app had no seasoning that was mentioned on the menu and it was half the amount versus the picture. My rice cakes apps were cold and it took so long for everything to come. All of our stuff came out at different times. The kimchi rice was good. The pork belly was okay. I had better. The sides that it came with were not as great either. The kimchi was not as crunchy as it should be. I'm from down south from LA to Orange County I had good Korean food growing up and was very excited to finally have some here in the Central Valley. But it was not up to par for me. Staff seemed nice though. All in all def not worth the price. I don't think I'll be coming back.

Fantastic pork belly and fried rice. Would love to try again when I have a chance to visit there.

There were also bagged chips, cubed fruit and Tajin candies on display. Service is always quick. *Aguachile: plump shrimp, cucumber, and avocado in a cup with spicy water. This surprisingly packed a lot of heat so it went well with the fruit. The cucumbers soaked up the peppery seasoning well. The shrimp was tender and sweet. The most refreshing version I've had in the Central Valley. *Ceviche: shrimp, tomato, cucumber, onion and avocado cooked in citrus. The container looked small but it was filling. Each serving was topped with a whole avocado. The shrimp was similarly tender and the vegetables were fresh. I prefer my ceviche to be on the sour side and this gave me the pucker I wanted. Served with 3 grocery store tostadas. I wished these were made fresh because I've been stuck with stale ones before. *Escamocha: came with a choice of ice cream. I chose their walnut flavor and resembled a nuttier butter pecan. The fruit was chopped finely and was sweetened by the cream. The almonds provided a good crunch. Surprisingly mild tasting compared to the fresas con crema. *Fresas Con Crema: the serving size was a bit small for $9 but it was creamy and sweet. The strawberries were plump from soaking in the condensed milk. These were topped with almonds and coconut flakes. Really addicting. Not fancy but the seafood here is better executed than most restaurants in the Central Valley. I just wished the tostadas were fresher to match the quality of the shrimp and produce.

If you ordered at the counter, you would wait in the seating area until your name was called, but if you had a mobile order, you would proceed to the pickup counter and give them your name. This is not how it works anymore. They don't have anyone manning the order counter, it is only a kiosk to order, and if a customer has trouble ordering there is no one to help them. Additionally, no one is manning the pickup counter either. If you walk up to tell them you had a pickup order, no one addresses you. Today there was a line to the door of people waiting to be acknowledged to give them the name of their online, app, or DoorDash order. Today I ordered a mango sunshine smoothie bowl through the app. I placed my order at 11:58am, and the app said it would be ready by 12:08pm. When I arrived at about 12:17pm, I got in line to ask for my pickup order. None of us standing in line were acknowledged at all, and when I finally asked about my order 10 minutes later, I was told they were still working on it. Meanwhile people who had ordered in store after I arrived were getting their orders before me. They are clearly short-staffed because only two people were working in the middle of the day during the lunch rush, and the division of responsibilities and the flow of making orders and addressing customers seems highly inefficient. I have been here a few times in the past week when this has been an issue, but today was the most egregious. While sitting and waiting, more people came in to order, and they warned them that with people waiting it would be a 10-15 minute wait, which made me want to laugh since I had been sitting there for almost 30 minutes at that point. I also watched the base for my smoothie bowl sit on the counter for about 10 minutes before they finally put the fruit topping on it. I finally received my smoothie bowl at 12:48, 50 minutes after I had placed the order, 40 minutes after it said the order would be ready, and 30 minutes after I actually arrived to the store to pick it up. Finally, the music they were trying to play overhead just kept skipping and disconnecting so it was pretty annoying. This location really needs to staff better and to fix their process flow. Add to this that the smoothies are way overpriced anyway, I question whether I'll be back anytime soon.
