Come here all the time. Came this time for my wife's birthday. Always good food. You get the raw meat and you grill it yourself. Everyone was happy and my wife even got a small dessert for her birthday. Will come again

I've been coming here for many years as it's always been a reliable place to get some tasty AYCE bbq. (Although I still miss the onions and peppers you used to get, you have to order it as an extra side now). I really love their marinated meats and side dishes. Unfortunately, that's about as reliable as it gets. Service and cleanliness is always hit or miss here. Although lately the service has been nice and friendly. If it's busy, they're spread out pretty thin that you have to flag them down for awhile to get anything you need. It makes you feel like you're cheering for the Raps from the nosebleeds, hoping someone sees you. The sheets they give you to mark down what you want is almost moot. I've never gotten exactly what I've requested. They consistently forget or are slow to bring drink orders or marked sheet items. Regular dinner AYCE includes the following: Side dishes: tofu, kimchee, pickled radish, non spicy bean sprouts, spicy bean sprouts, beef broth, potato, and steamed rice Meat & Seafood: beef, beef ribs, ox liver, chicken, pork, pork sausage, squid, salmon, white fish fillet Mon - Thurs - $23.99 Fri - Sun & Holidays - $24.99 If you don't mind late night pigging out, coming here for their late night special is worth it. It starts at 10pm and it's a more condensed menu (you don't get beef short ribs, sausage, liver or salmon) but you certainly can fill up on everything else for about $6 less than reg price. Lunch or Late Night Special Mon - Thurs - $17.99 Fri - Sun & Holidays - $18.99 Also to note, they also include a 13% gratuity with your bill. Oh and don't bother using the washrooms here. They're usually in pretty bad shape. If they could improve service consistency and cleanliness it would get 5/5 as the food is always great.

Our waiter and the rest of the staff were kind and very quick to help us. Food came very fast and tasted amazing - especially the short ribs, beef, and fish. The mango ice cream might have crack in it because I was addicted! I wish they sold it separately. I can't wait to go back.

This is probably one of my favorite Korean BBQ locations, especially because it's close to home. During the winter months, my husband and I becomes pescatarian and this place is an awesome place for AYCE. The atmosphere is fun and exciting knowing that we are cooking our own food. The meats are all seasoned well and the marinade they use for the meats are so good. The side dishes - Bapsang are so good, from the kimchi, spicy bean sprouts, regular sprouts, marinated tofu, marinated potatoe, radish, to the beef broth everything taste so good When love to take family and friends to this location because the staff are awesome, service is quick and everyone leaves stuffed and satisfied.

Came here for dinner after a Raptors game, because we were craving Korean bbq. I've been here a few times and it's okay, not amazing but not horrible. To begin, the service is okay. I mean, there's a bunch of waiters that will be helping you out. Majority of them are nice, but make sure you look at what they are giving you, because sometimes they can get confused. However, the waiter did let us know that the tips were included, which is a huge plus because some Korean bbq places do not tell you. The place itself is alright. I personally feel like it's so crowded in there that you can literally hear other people's conversations around you. Also, the washrooms are pretty gross! So I suggest you don't use it unless you really have to. The food was alright. I personally loved the beef and thought it was the best to cook. Ribs were also good, but the beef was better. One sad thing is that this place does not have dessert, not even ice-cream!!

I ordered the Grilled chicken with rice dish. It's comfort food that has good taste and decent price. The quantity is generous. For a big eater, it is a full meal and for a small eater, it can be two meals. Good value,

This was my second time at this AYCE Korean bbq spot. We stick to the basic package that includes beef, chicken and pork with some fish along with all the little Korean side dishes. I'd stick to the beef. The pork sausage is okay but the regular pork isn't worth the time. The chicken is good but takes a while to cook. If you like fish, I'd go with the salmon. The service is great. All the employees will help your table by clearing your dishes, filling your drinks, taking more orders or even switching out your grill for a fresh one. The restaurant is really nice and modern feeling. The hours are the best. It's great if you're looking for a meal later at night. You won't be the only ones in there either! We were looking for hot pot this night and had already ate here recently but after we started eating I forgot all about hot pot!

The restaurant has a lot of space. The staff were very accommodating on short notice four large party on Christmas Eve. They were attentive to all our guests. The food was tasty. The restaurant is very clean. And lots of parking available in the plaza. Would totally recommend it.

The broth wasn't very salty but still flavourful and once you let the peppers steep into the broth, they add a lovely spicy kick. Another substantial dish is the steamed pork bo saam ($49.99 for large) where slices of pork belly are kept warm on a hot plate. Diners tuck these soft meat slices into lettuce, Napa cabbage, and turnip with a smear of the savoury bean sauce for a protein packed bite. Our table was split about the haemui pa jeon ($28.99). The size of a medium pizza, it's made for a group. Personally, I found it way too thick and didn't contain enough ingredients to balance out the doughiness of the Korean style pancake. Conversely, my relatives preferred the heft as it contrasted the crispy exterior and soft interior. I guess it depends if you're a thin versus pan crust type of pizza lover. I'm firmly in the Neapolitan camp. I thoroughly enjoyed the crust that develops on the bottom of yachae dolsot bibimbap ($18.99). And the hot stone rice bowl contained a good combination of ingredients to ensure there was plenty of vegetables and beef to go around. De Chou's LA kalbi ($34.99) was rather neutral with very little sauce, so you mostly taste the beef. I personally would have preferred more sauce to help caramelize onto the beef ribs, but the older members of the family appreciated the plainness and liked that it was tender. This is a long review for the rest go to Gastro World.

(3/5) De Chou Korean Restaurant - Lunch Review…read more We stopped by De Chou Korean Restaurant for lunch today since we happened to be nearby. The sign said it opens at 11:30 a.m., and true to their word, the doors opened exactly on time. The restaurant itself is quite large and impressively clean -- that was my first good impression. We originally went in because of the sign outside advertising Korean ginseng chicken soup, but when we asked the server, he told us it's no longer on the menu. A bit disappointing, especially since my wife wasn't feeling well and I thought that soup would've been perfect for her. We ordered two Bulgogi Dolsot Bibimbaps ($21.99 each). The portion was decent, but the flavor was a bit bland and not salty enough for our taste -- overall I'd give it a 6/10. We also tried the Japchae ($13.99). Unfortunately, it was too greasy, a bit slimy, and overcooked -- about a 4/10 for me. They served five small side dishes, which were just average (5/10), and a small cup of noodle soup that was lukewarm and slightly sweet -- not to my liking, as I prefer savory over sweet in Korean food. The total came to $65.51 before tip, and we left a standard 15%. To be fair, by the time we finished lunch, there were quite a few tables filled, so maybe other dishes are better. But based on what we ordered today, the food didn't live up to the price. Would I go again? Probably not.

I came here during Korealicious to try traditional Korean soy-marinated crab and shrimp…read more The complimentary side dishes were great. My favorites were the sweet soy-braised tofu skin, japchae, and spicy cucumber salad. The hot barley tea also paired really well with the marinated seafood. Marinated Crab The platter comes with six half pieces of soy-marinated crab and six half pieces of spicy marinated crab. The soy-marinated crab tasted very traditional, with a strong sweet soy sauce flavor. Compared with another Michelin pop-up restaurant I tried before, this version was much richer and saltier. The blue crab meat had a soft, jelly-like texture from the curing process, which was impressive. However, the soy sauce became quite dominant after a few pieces, so I highly recommend pairing it with the beef tendon soup or barley tea to balance the flavors. The spicy crab, however, wasn't my favorite. Instead of the sweet, savory heat that I usually associate with Korean gochujang, it leaned more toward the direct heat of Korean chili flakes, similar to the spice level in tteokbokki. I felt the spiciness overwhelmed the natural sweetness of the crab rather than enhancing it. Marinated Shrimp I was worried that eight shrimp wouldn't be enough, but the plate was huge. They use giant tiger prawns, each about the size of my hand, so two or three are already quite filling. Because the prawns are so large, they are only lightly cured, so the meat stays firm and springy instead of becoming soft like the Cantonese-style marinated shrimp I'm more familiar with. The sweet soy marinade penetrates the meat very well, making every bite flavorful. However, after a few shrimp, the soy sauce becomes increasingly dominant and the flavor starts to feel one-dimensional. Personally, I prefer the layered flavors of Cantonese-style marinated seafood, where the freshness of the seafood is complemented by ginger, garlic, cooking wine, and fish sauce. Beef Tendon Soup This ended up being my favorite dish of the meal. The broth was rich with beef flavor and had a wonderful silky texture from the collagen released by the tendon. It paired perfectly with the marinated seafood. A sip of the soup cleansed the palate from the strong soy sauce, making the next bite of crab or shrimp taste fresh again. The tendon itself was tender and well-cooked. The only thing I didn't enjoy was the mustard soy dipping sauce served on the side. Overall, this meal felt more like experiencing two very different marinated seafood traditions. Korean-style marinated seafood emphasizes the deep savory flavor developed through soy sauce curing, while Cantonese-style marinated seafood highlights the natural sweetness of the seafood with layers of ginger, garlic, cooking wine, and fresh aromatics. Even though I personally still prefer the Cantonese style, I enjoyed experiencing this traditional Korean approach.

The decor is from the previous store I think called maki momo? The dine in is counter seating. The taste is definitely not your typical Korean soup spices but the pork bone was definitely fall off the bone and tender which some Korean places serve it very dry. The spicy fish and veggie soup was also different as the fish used I believe it's snakehead where other places usually have that thick cut white fish which is meh. So I really enjoyed it. Definitely don't set the expectation as authentic Korean dishes for these two dishes in terms of taste because it's quite different. The pork bone soup had a lot of garlic in it but something about the soup base gave me sukiyaki flavours. The fish soup was slightly different as well but also can't narrow down what it reminds me off but that one gave some Chinese spin to it. Although different I'd say it's unique and good in their own way, I'd go back for their grilled meat options next time.
