What can I say? This was one of those meals that you just don't forget because of the food, as well as the company. Small place. There is no AC in this place so it can get REALLY hot in the summer. We went on a Thursday for lunch and there is literally only 1 lady doing everything. She takes our order and goes back into the kitchen to cook everything. So expect a LONG wait for your food to come out. Lots of variety of lunch specials. Except for some reason the lady said they dont have the "Box lunch" specials which are the lunch portions of bulgogi and other meats (basically the good stuff which was kind of a bummer) There are only 3 side dishes, all kimchi/pickled veggies. Which kinda sucks if you're like me ans dont like kimchi. Regardless everything we had tasted pretty good. KOREAN SPICY CHICKEN WINGS- We got this for our appetizer and everyone liked it. kinda tastes like spicy BBQ wings. JAPCHAE- clear glass noodles with veggies amd meat. got the lunch portion so it was pretty small. This place is completely empty when we got in but somehow the service very poor, or more accurately described - completely lacking. I am very understanding if a restaurant is short staffed and everyone is trying to get their food, but that is not the scenario when I had visited. I don't believe it is a outrageous expectation, to be able to place my order when I am the only customer. The food, although not terrible in taste, does not make up for sitting around hopelessly wondering why it takes 20 minutes for someone to refill drinks and 45 minutes for food to be served when the restaurant is completely dead. On a fall evening, the four of us decided to stroll into Korean Grille. Why? How often do you hear of a Korean restaurant opening up in Quincy!? I had the honor to do the ordering for the table. Ain't that awesome! I perused through the menu and decide to order the basics to try: Kalbi, Japchae, Wings, Yook Hwe, Bibim Naeng Myun. Kalbi - Not much marinated taste in the beef. Extremely chewy (perhaps cut the wrong way or just bad quality) over a bed of beansprouts and a tad of other veggies. Hence, the sizzling plate incurred a bed of liquid in no time. Sizzle me no more! Also, the beef was cut into chunks unlike other places where this dish is thinly sliced. Japchae - I was having a sip of Coke so I didn't understand how sweet this dish was in which all 3 of them complained about. Instead, I was turned off by the earthy taste. It tasted like I was eating soil. No, I never ate soil. Not in my recollection to say the least! There was not much noodles. It was loaded with cabbage. I suppose the cabbage is cheaper than the noodles. Chicken Wings Korean Style - 4 pieces for 7.95! Technically, 2 wings cut into 4. I never had such gourmet wings before! And never will again. Yook Hwe - Raw beef is my favorite Korean dish. This generous portion of beef was not complimented with a generous portion of julienne pears. It was very fine and minute that I could not even taste to see if it's the sweet Asian pear. Bibim Naeng Myun - Hot stone rice is something very difficult to screw up. The banchan and all the above was served at the same time. Leaving us no room on the table so we each had to grab a piece of wing to make room. So much for appetizer course! All of the above was suggested to be eaten by hands and wipe our hands and mouths with our sleeves. We all refused to do so, so we flagged the server down for chopsticks, spoons and napkins after she dropped off our meals. No straws, No alcohol, No service. read more

This is a very small place, it's run by maybe 2 people. I had the beef BBQ and the tofu soup here, pretty good. The food take a little bit long, I think because not many people are working here. Great little place. There are 6 tables so it only seats 24 people but the food is spectacular. The best Korean food I have ever had. I have been here a dozen times and it is always a great meal. I normally get the bulgogi and a bibimbap. Both of them come out steaming and sizzling which is really cool. Not the best Korean food I've had in Boston. We ordered the bulgogi, kalbi and pork soodubu. My soup was lacking in the jjigae aka veggies and kimchi inside the soup. The broth was alright as well. After our table finished the meat dishes, we were still hungry. My friend ordered a salmon roll to be safe and fill his empty stomach as well. Overall - if you are getting a to-go order of a stone bowl you are safe, everything else was meh....We won't be back. Good luck to the ownership though. Came in for some food. I ordered the Chicken Wing Korean style which came raw in the middle and the sauce that was on the chicken was a little overbearing. They gave me some free sushi rolls to try to make up for it, but the uncooked chicken just killed my appetite. The place is small and ugly to look at. They didn't charge me for the chicken, but our bill still came to $40 something for 2 items and 4 bowls of rices. I don't understand why it was so much money for the portions that we got. I stopped infront of the place just a few minutes ago, theres a tiny little table right outside of it. I put my backpack ontop of it to look through it to look for my credit card. My back pack is huge and has alot of stuff in it so it takes me a second to find it. Owner comes out screaming at me "what are you doing here?!?! you cant be here, the table is for customers only!" I told her that I'm looking for my credit card and I asked if that's okay. She yelled no and told me to leave. I said okay, I'm leaving anyway. As im saying that i found my credit card. Whole time i was thinking about going in and ordering. Glad i didn't. Lady was rude. As i was walking away they came out again and took the whole table lol. It's 9pm. There was no customers. Anytime i pass by theres never any customers, even in the day time. They just sit at the table on their phones waiting for customers that will never come. Save your money and don't come here. Korean food has a very wide range of flavor. If you're looking for something different then you should try this place out. The owner and chef is very very nice. On another occasion, ordering the exact same dish, it'll taste fine. -_- At least the bibimbap is consistent here - then again I don't know too many places that can mess this up.. I've never had the sushi here so I can't comment. So if you're in Quincy and craving Korean food - this might hold you over.. Deceivingly authentic! Upon walking in, it's cramped and small and the tables seat 2-4 so when we brought our group of 7 in, it was clearly going to be tight. Also upon entering, there were no Koreans and not much korean including an empty sushi bar with no chef. All that being said, I lived in Korea and am very picky when it comes to authentic Korean food. After we ordered, a Korean woman came in and things started getting better, but I'm not sure who the chef was in the back. We were extremely surprised at how amazing the food was. We were disappointed that there wasn't a fired grill on the table, but everything that came out was so delicious and authentic. We received about five pan chan (side dishes) that were mostly all kimchi something and we also ordered: vegetable jun, edamame, bulgogi, spicy chicken, kimchi cheegae, and bi bim bop. It fed all six eaters and the waitress brought out rice for us to share as well as "Kim" when I asked for it. I would definitely get their food again, but eating their was a little awkward especially since it was 15 degrees outside and no extra heating on and all tables are in the line of the doorway. We were on the cold side so the kimchi cheegae was welcome. The Korean who served us was super nice and helpful. Parking on street is sparse but there is a cheap parking lot behind the building that takes cash only. Please give this place a chance. Came here last night with the Girlfriend after we noticed it had finally opened, earlier in the day. The decor was nice; The place used to be a cramped little deli so there isn't a whole lot of space to speak of, but it was a very clean, inviting space. We got seated at a private little table for two off to the side. It was cozy and gave us a little privacy, so it might be treat for couples out on a date night, although they only had one, so romance-seeking lovers may need to get there early to grab it. The other tables were larger, for parties of 4-6, so theres room to bring friends as well. Let's start off with our "appetizers", which for us was sushi. We got the standards, spicy tuna and spicy salmon. Now, my usual go-to sushi to test the quality is always the eel, but I didn't wanna fill up and miss out on the korean main course, so we kept it simple. The sushi was fresh and tasty, but definitely not the star of the show. I would come back for the sushi again, however, so its by no means a slouch. Before the rest of the food came out, the waitress dropped off 8 or 10 tiny plates of side dishes, with things like pickled carrots, kimchee, some kind of preserved egg, and lots more. They were interesting, but some of them were hit or miss. I'll chalk this up to personal taste and leave it at that. The Girlfriend ordered herself a Spicy Kimchee Soup, and I got the Beef Bokeum. Her soup came out in a very interesting looking mini hotpot, which thrilled her. Then came my beef - A pile of perfectly cooked, thinly sliced beef, with carrots, onions (regular and green) and peppers. It was delicious. I was already full halfway through the plate, but couldn't stop eating. Prices were decent - A little higher than I expected, but I believe the intention is to order things to share with others, which is not what we did. We wanted to feast, and we did. Overall, It's no more than I'd expect to pay on any other "date night". Portions were more than ample. The Girlfriend couldn't even finish her soup, and although I crushed the beef, I left a sad graveyard of onions, carrots, and peppers that I was just too stuffed to keep eating (and I would have). It says something when the vegetables are just as tasty as the meat. We did not sample the desserts, so I can't speak to how those were. The service was prompt, considering there was 1 waitress to run the front, although she occasionally got a hand from a gentleman who was helping refill glasses and handle requests from other customers. People kept walking in and acting like they owned the place, helping themselves to a drink and walking behind the counter. It took almost an hour for our dishes to come, and they were extremely good. Its a surprise to find a Korean place right in Quincy, so we decided to give them a chance, and my feelings are split from one dish that was decent and another that was a big let down. I got the soondubu jigae which very spicy but manageable with rice, and came well mixed already. I thought it was pretty good, though admittedly I dont commonly order this dish so its hard to compare to other places we've had it. My husband thought it tasted alot more fishier than normal, though according to the website the chef is from Busan, so that could explain it. Alas, as for the kalbi tang, ordinarily one of my comfort foods, was quite disappointing. The pieces of meat were large chunks, very chewy and not tender at all. There were also a bunch of daikon radishes in the soup, which ordinarily is supposed to be extremely soft and almost melts in your mouth...however, these were barely cooked, and basically like eating an undercooked potato. We were given about 7 or so panchan, my husband thought it was a good variety, though i found the kimchi well over its prime (i.e., tasted sour). The server did the bare minimum, even when we asked for water, she never came back after taking our orders, and we had to ask for the water after we were given our meals. She was essentially not around, even when there were only us and another guy by himself - both of parties had to physically go search for her to ask to pay the bill. I do give it props to being an authentically owned Korean restaurant (though we heard the server talking in English to the chef, so not quite sure if the cook is always Korean), and hope it does well here in Quincy...we'll def be back and try out some of their other dishes though! read more

Since my bf and I were searching for a Korean place to try in Quincy, we came across This place. It took 35 mins for our food to arrive. Not to mention that no small dishes were served beforehand. In terms of the Korean spicy wings, they tasted more like just buffalo wings. Also, due to the increased prices of the food, I was expecting the dishes to meet its standard. The rice hot stone was plain in terms of missing flavor and texture of the veggies and bulgogi beef. I wouldn't recommend this place to try authentic Korean food. read more

I've been twice now. I was pleased to find I could finally get some Korean food in Quincy. I think it is safe to say it is the best Korean restaurant in Quincy, in fact (by nature of being the only one) On both occasions, the heat was set to an uncomfortable temperature for me (the front door lets in a blast of cold air, so I suspect they were compensating by cranking up the heat) When I'm eating spicy food, I usually prefer some air conditioning. But ah well. I'm *that guy* who always feels it is too warm. In any case, the food met my expectations for a hole-in-the-wall Korean joint. You're not going to be floored by it. My bi bim bap emergency has been safely resolved, however, so I am not complaining. Will I go back again? Yes, tho' I think I shall probably be getting takeout more often than dining in. Stepped in for lunch with a co-worker just after they opened. Was quickly and politely greeted, then the waitress brought over some good tea and water while we looked at the menu. We ended up getting an order of Korean wings, and two sashimi lunch orders. The sashimi was fantastic, nicely cut fish served on a wooden board with perfectly prepared rice. The waitress also brought over several types of kimchi which was an unexpected, and nice, surprise. The only downside here were the wings, while they had a delicious sauce on them I expect Korean wings to be nice and crispy. These were barely crunchy, though they were still decent wings. Last night was my first visit. I ordered dumpling soup and shumi.Total was 13.50, when I went to the register to pay I took out my debit card. Then was asked if I had cash - I did not, I no longer use cash - then I was told there was a $15.00 minimum even though the menu clearly states a $10.00 minimum. So in order to get my food, I paid $15.00 for it. The take out packaging was poor as the soup and shumi was put in a plastic bag which made it nearly impossible to carry - at a minimum there should have been a piece of cardboard in the bag to keep everything upright or use a paper bag. The food was delicious but portions were small for what I paid for it. It is too bad that I had such a negative experience before I ate the food as I would rate the food 4 stars.
