    Rib eye beef?

It's been a few years since I was at Fairy Cafe. The ramen soups were always top notch so with a craving for stir fry, I ordered. I should've stuck to the ramen soups. I started with chicken wings assuming they'd be actual chicken wings in line with say, Chinese restaurants. Instead, I got the cheap breaded, seemingly frozen, garbage sold at a dime a dozen pizza/sub places. They are low quality nonsense...and $11. Hilarious. I also got the rib eye beef and enoki ramen noodles. Listen, there is roughly 5lbs of it. 3 adults can share it. But Quincy has endless options for authentic Asian food and that's what we want--quality over quantity, Asian food with fresh, quality ingredients. See the pictures. It is a mound of overcooked mush with extremely/borderline inedible fatty meat and equally mushy enoki mushrooms hidden here and there. When I know for a fact that I could cook a stir fry ramen that is ten times better than what I just paid $20 for, there is zero reason to return to your restaurant, and I won't.

Nice homey spot with sweet staff! They offer AYCE hotpot for a reasonable price and have their full dinner menu as well! Place does get packed during dinner hours. That night we decided on curry pork, fried calamari, pan fried chicken with black pepper sauce and Tom yum seafood noodle with ramen! We also got different smoothies including a mystery flavor (or surprise me flavor from the owner). The portions here are always large, plenty of sauce no stinginess here. The chicken was moist, soak up the black pepper sauce with some white rice. Feels like a home meal! The curry is great because so many places use premade bagged curry portions and charge for extra bag being open. Here it's made in house and tasty! The Tom yum soup has depth to the flavor and it was not spicy for anyone whom may be wondering! Smoothies were all creamy and great consistency, no ice shards and also bits of real fruit in there!

I cannot overstate how amazing the food is but the service is always what shines through (if even possible as the food speaks for itself) The owner Joy and Carmen have been wonderful to us throughout the years and have treated us like long-awaited family since we first walked in for a meal. They are a crowd favorite amongst any family or friends that we have brought to meet them. Now it's been at least two years and Fairy Cafe has become a part of our monthly routine because we cannot stay away. They serve fresh veggies along with their delicious hotpot, amazing crab Rangoons, and they do so with warm hospitality at an affordable price. It's very clean and organized inside as well as very beautifully decorated and painted. They also have now hot pot + buffet and so we look forward to celebrating their future successes!

This place has an excellent service. Server was very kind and polite. I ordered their Shanghai soup dumpling and stir fry noodle. Big mistake on my part. I think this place has better hotpot and rice plate options. Soup dumpling was tasty and the juice inside these dumplings are rich. Stir fry noodle are okay but came with big portion. I think it's for 1-2 person serving. They have a lot of seats so bring everyone!!!

Free street parking on neighboring streets. Overall, the service was good and the food was "not bad". Pan fried dumplings were juicy and lightly fried with a good meat to skin ratio. Sticky rice texture was good but lacked flavor. Mala lamb noodles were too oily and heavy on the seasoning. The tofu skin was nice though Iced Hong Kong milk tea was nice to sip on with the spicy dish. The seasonings to the food were a bit heavy and made us feel quite bloated and thirsty after the meal.

fairy café is like warm, comfort, food. It won't knock your socks off, but it won't break your wallet either. we've been here multiple times for lunch and dinner. If we're not craving anything in particular, then we usually end up here if we are in the area. If you get a rice dish, the rice portion is huge, and we always have to pack most of it home Parking a street.

Update (December 2023) They do have AYCE hot pot buffet. The last time I got it, there was a bug in my veggies and needless to say, I didn't have an appetite afterwards and never ordered the AYCE hot pot again. Each visit, I tried a different soup and after 10 visits, my favorite is the Japanese style pork ramen AND the salt and pepper chicken wings. Don't forget the milk tea! Small local shop, always busy so you know it's popular. Would recommend checking out if you're in the area.

Great service, great soups. Took a couple of dishes to go. Everything was quick but tasted fresh. The mango and one other smoothie is made fresh and you can ask them not to add sugar. It was nice to have the option. Parking wasn't too difficult. 2 hour street spots around and a 1 hour lot for the bakery across the street. Not the best location but otherwise worth a visit.

not sure why this place is rated so high (i've also heard really good things!) maybe we did not order the right things? we arrived at 6:30pm and by 7 the place was full. the service was quick and friendly! we had a party of 7. i was surprised they let us do half AYCE hotpot and half order off regular menu. i can't comment on hotpot but the regular food was okay. ouu i did really like their salt and pepper wings. think wingding dinner wings but with really good seasoning. their seafood udon and beef with enoki mushrooms looked like their hotpot leftovers and they poured it over udon/rice (not bad and not particularly amazing either) i was really intrigued by their bbq taro. it was fine but not life changing crab rangoons were crispy and creamy. i didn't mind the soup dumplings. but i can see people thinking the wrap is thicker than usual and not a lot of soup inside. their watermelon shake was yummy! milk tea was fine -- a tad sweeter than i usually like it.

The service was amazing from entering to exiting. Kind and funny servers who's sense of humor can deal with my talkative father. My food was really good and so was the rest of my family's. We ordered from the regular menu. I also really enjoyed the Thai Tea drink. My dad loved the hotpot and kept himself entertained cooking his food and constantly asking the servers about how long each food takes. 10/10 would recommend if you're in the area.

I would go to the original Brookline location but this one is a little easier for me to get to. My go-to is the OG miso ramen, It's very rich and hearty, leaving you quite satisfied after eating. If you want a "cleaner" flavor, then shio is a good choice. The portions are rather generous and they don't skimp on the toppings. You actually get a 1/2 egg included, which is becoming rare these days. The karaage (fried chicken) isn't the crispiest I've ever had but it is really flavorful and tender. The marinating and using boneless chicken thighs lends itself to having those two traits. Service is generally friendly and prompt. The area inside is a little dark, and uses artificial lighting to stay somewhat bright, but it's fine. This is a less cramped space than the Brookline location and since it's in a strip mall, there's parking. The area is rather devoid of ramen shops, so this was a much-welcomed addition.

The inside of Hakata Ramen is tight and can get pretty busy, but the vibe is what you'd expect for the area. The staff is honestly the best part. They are welcoming and move fast. I have been here a handful of times and it is a reliable choice for comfort food. They have these daily bento specials with ramen, sushi, and appetizers that look like a great deal. I tried, but they are intriguing. The main downside is the broth quality compared to the price. There are definitely more authentic ramen spots in the city if you are a purist. You can tell the base is not a homemade tonkatsu broth, which is a bit of a letdown for what they charge. Still, it is a decent spot for a quick meal. * Tempura Ramen (7/10): The tempura is a total highlight because it is served on a separate plate to keep it from getting soggy, though the broth itself is fairly standard. There used to be a Bank of America ATM right across the street but it seems like it is no longer there unfortunately. Their biang biang noodles are fire & you really can't go wrong with getting the dry version or with soup. Honestly, this has been my favorite spot to get noodles lately. Last week, I literally went here almosevery day for dinner (I wish I was kidding). My favorite dishes to order from here include: - Cumin Lamb Biang Biang Noodles - Cumin Lamb Biang Biang Noodle Soup - Fish Filet with Chili Pepper - Chongching Chicken with Chili Pepper Visually, the dishes don't look like generous portions but actually they're quite filling! The cumin lamb Biang Biang noodles (w/o soup) is generally my go-to because it's SO FLAVORFUL. The lamb is cooked well & doesn't taste gamey at all. It's a tad spicy but won't kill you hahaha. They do have another version of this dish that comes with soup & it's a great option if you're feeling a soup. This also has amazing flavor but of course, not as flavorful as the dry version since it comes with soup. I highly recommend getting the fish filet with chili peppers if you love a fried fish! They make it incredibly crispy without making the fish taste dry. This is perfect with a bowl of rice. Now, the chongching chicken wings have to be the spiciest dish out of my favorites. This is a great snack! I usually get this to share if I'm eating here with a group or if I'm getting takeout, I'll get this as an entree. The pieces are crispy, spicy, and juicy. What more can you ask for? SO GOOD. For dine in, it is Cash Only. If you do takeout and don't have cash/want to go grab cash, what I like to do is order through UberEats. This way, it charges credit card & you can just go in to pick it up or choose for delivery.

We walked into a simple, modest space with only a handful of tables, the kind of casual neighborhood eatery where the focus is clearly on the food rather than the surroundings. The dining room was tight and functional, with a no-frills setup that kept the attention on the noodles coming out of the kitchen. The energy was practical and unpretentious, and the steady flow of customers reflected its reputation as a destination for anyone craving authentic Chinese noodle dishes. The hand-pulled noodles are the highlight of the menu. We ordered a few different styles and found the Biang Biang noodles standing out with their wide, chewy texture that held up well to the bold sauces. The Lanzhou beef noodle soup offered a lighter broth paired with freshly stretched noodles that had a clean, satisfying bite. The spicy lamb hand-pulled noodles were another popular choice, combining tender meat with a flavorful sauce that had a satisfying amount of heat. Beyond the noodles, the cumin lamb burger, steamed dumplings, and cold skin noodles provided plenty of variety if we wanted to explore more of the menu. Each dish arrived hot and well assembled, and the portions were generous for the price. The restaurant operates with a very straightforward, self-service style. Seating is limited, and the dining room fills up quickly during busy hours, so waiting for a table is common. The service is fairly minimal, with the emphasis placed on getting the food out rather than providing a full-service dining experience. Water and utensils are self-serve, and the overall experience feels more like grabbing an authentic meal than dining somewhere with polished hospitality. It is also worth knowing that Chili Square is cash only, so planning ahead will save you from any surprises when it is time to pay. The staff moved through the room efficiently, and the noodles came out hot and freshly pulled. Overall, Chili Square is a great choice if you are looking for authentic hand-pulled noodles and bold Northwestern Chinese flavors. The small space, cash-only policy, and simple service require a little flexibility, but the freshly made noodles and generous portions make it well worth the visit if the food is your main priority.
