I visited Seoul Gourmet for lunch. There were only about 16 patrons there, which was sad, as the food (quality and quantity) was impressive, and the prices are quite reasonable. The 5 banchan servings included kimchi, pickled daikon, other pickled radishes, spicy marinated squid and pickled zucchini. All were fresh and delicious. I ordered a lunchbox with a heaping serving of very righteous bulgogi, along with a generous scoop of rice, thin sliced napa cabbage with a sweet creamy dressing, several fried vegetable dumplings, and some additional pickled daikon slices. For $15, it is a LOT of food! They serve a large carafe of cold water at every table, and the server brought gojuchang when I requested it. Most, but certainly not all of the other patrons were speaking Korean, which definitely enhanced the atmosphere (although the restaurant's interior is quite comfortable). I will need to return to try out the menu, but my first visit was a very good experience, and I urge others to sample their food, which is very much like the delicious foods I have had in Seoul. read more

It's great to have an authentic Korean restaurant on the South Shore without having to drive into Boston. this restaurant replaced SuSu Sushi and the interior remains about the same . The food here is on par with the spots in Allston, and the portions are huge. The steamed egg was really well done and seasoned perfectly. The tangsuyuk came out hot and very crispy, though I felt the sauce was a bit too sour and could have used more depth of flavor. The budae jjigae is listed as serving size for two, but it easily could have fed four people. I appreciated the generous amount of pork belly, spam, and sausage along with the vegetables. A lot of places tend to skimp on the meat and overload the veggies. I would definitely come back when I'm craving Korean food. I went on a Friday night and it was not too busy. read more

I came here for lunch specifically to try jajangmyeon after reading about the dish in the New York Times (https://www.nytimes.com/2025/04/11/dining/jjajangmyeon-korean-noodle-dish.html) and seeing it repeatedly pop up in my Facebook feed. Living on the South Shore means Korean food options are limited, so when personal errands brought me to Stoughton, this immediately went to the top of my list. The jajangmyeon lived up to the hype. Springy wheat noodles with a deeply flavorful black bean sauce that hit the perfect balance of sweet and salty. Comfort food with real depth. I also enjoyed my steamed pork dumplings along with the banchan which included standards like kimchi along spicy radish and pickled daikon, which was an absolute revelation! Sign me up for more of that. The restaurant crowd was primarily locals, and there was a constant stream of takeout orders, which says a lot about how well-loved this place is. The space itself is nice and welcoming, although the area near the host stand and toward the open kitchen is a little cluttered during peak times. I'm guessing they don't have a lot of storage in back. If you have been curious about jajangmyeon, or if you are craving Korean food south of Boston, this is absolutely worth the trip. read more

Seoul Gourmet replaced Su Su Sushi. There are not many Korean restaurants around unless you go to Allston. The prices are friendly, but the food is hit or miss. Seafood Scallion Pancake ($15) The pancake was thin and only had squid. Usually, there are shrimp and mussels, but the price is definitely lower. Vegetable Tempura ($13) A variety of vegetables that included broccoli, sweet potatoes, zucchini, and pumpkin. Seoul Fried Chicken ($14 Half) I would prefer BB.Q chicken. The chicken wings are crispy but not juicy at all. Galbitang ($17) I loved the soup, clean, lots of ribs, and vermicelli. If you take all the ingredients out, less than half of the bowl is soup. Definitely will be back because of the soup. Pork Gukbap ($15) The meat was dried and had no fat. I took it all out after one bite. The gukbap was okay, but it could be better. Service is slow, only two waitresses who are Vietnamese and unfamiliar with the Korean dishes. read more

We had seafood pancake, kalbitang, shrimp fried rice & boneless bbq kalbi, everything is flavorful, even my kids liked it, even though it's well seasoning but it's too oily. The staff are friendly and attentive. It was empty & we were the only table there. So one thing that really bothering me is there were about 4 tables without being clean, it's all a mess, and we happened to sit next to a messy table full of dirty plates & cups, and no one bother to clean it up the whole time we were there. read more

Since they are new, expect slow service until they can get into a rhythm. Staff are friendly and food has lots of flavors. It was packed on a Friday night and they offer free soft drinks from a fridge (just have to get up and get them yourself, which is cool!). The restaurant is spacious once they open up the other side. They are still decorating. We ordered 7 dishes to try and everything was delish! Forgot to take a photo of the bibimbap. Definitely will come back to try more dishes for sure. read more

We stopped by this Korean restaurant with a Southern twist and wow -- we definitely ordered WAY too much food, but no regrets because everything was super yummy! My husband got the fried chicken and really liked it (though he said there was a little bit of a weird aftertaste). I loved the mix of flavors on the menu -- there weren't a ton of vegan options, but I still found some great dishes and enjoyed every bite. Service was pretty good, and the vibe was really fun and welcoming. Overall, it's a cool spot with creative food -- we'll definitely come back (with more people so we can try even more)! read more

Authentic Korean restaurant in the South Shore that serves gukbap?! What a hidden shocking gem. The grilled mackerel was tender & fleshy. The Pork Gukbap was also a star. The broth was so hearty and savory. You know it's good when you hear a group of Ahjussis "ahh-ed," after the first sip. If that's not a solid stamp of approval, idk what is. Very friendly and welcoming staff although service was a little bit slow. It was full house on a Thursday night with short staff though. They gave us free Banana milk at the end as part of a promotion. Definitely coming back and looking forward to try more dishes! read more

Wife and I went during the soft opening. We were very impressed for a soft opening and arriving at 8pm on a Tuesday. Staff were friendly and attentive. The inside still had some finishing touches but was tastefully done furnishings and a good mix of booths and tables. Tea was offered and included. The pancake and bibimbap were chock full of a variety and quality items. The pancake, for instance, had big chunks of squid and the bibimbap had a variety of vegetables in addition to the beef. read more

SERVICE: They need to hire more people - there was only one person that was the host and server. Service was extremely slow and a bit chaotic but the host/server did their best. I've read that this place recently opened and wanted to give it a try. The restaurant is both elegant and casual, with beige walls that have wooden panels at the bottom, a dark brown shelf that holds cups near the back, and dark brown tables that seat 2-4 people. Small plants can be seen near the front by some of the tables and black lamps hang over them as well. A mural depicting a snowy village is also on the very back wall in the corner, but it isn't immediately visible unless you sit at certain tables. We ordered the following: Seafood Scallion Pancake- Korean pancake with assorted seafoods and vegetables. Daughter thought it was crispy and delicious. This was her favorite scallion pancakes that she's ever had. Hubs said that this reminds him of his favorite one in Canada in that it was nice and crispy. Most of the ones we've had were soggy. Budae Stew (For 2), which has spicy stew with ham, sausage, rice cakes, bean, vegetables and ramen noodle. They forgot to give us the noodles. We didn't realize that we didn't get rice cakes until we were in the middle of eating and decided not to ask for that. We loved this stew a lot. Everyone has a different recipe but this was delicious as well. Stone Pot tofu Bibimbap- rice topped with tofu, assorted vegetables, raw egg and sesame oil in a hot stone pot with a side of spicy mixing sauce. I've never had it with tofu and was happy to see that as a choice for protein. This was pretty good. I've always liked stone pot bibimbop and this did not disappoint. Hubs said that this felt lighter and was happy that this came with mung bean sprouts instead of soy bean sprouts. Service was quick and friendly. Prices were pretty affordable. We found out that the restaurant is still in the soft opening stage. I hope they do well. Will definitely return when in the area to try other items on the menu. read more

Oh My Gosh. The service here is 11/10, their hospitality is unreal. The food was amazing. The servers were kind and attentive. The restaurant was clean and the decor was nice. The menu had tons of options as well. The stew even had a warmer to keep it warm as you ate it. Overall an amazing experience and I'd go back again and again! This place was so good with great flavors and big portion sizes until 1 month ago. The last 2 times I went, it had deteriorated in quality. The soup dishes are much smaller (smaller bowl) and the galbi had a weird taste. The bi bim bap was lukewarm even though I ordered the hot stone bowl which is supposed to keep it very hot. And the servers are less friendly. Maybe poor business? read more

The food here is excellent. Everything I've tried so far has been outstanding. My personal favorite is the Stone Pot Dupbap - the rice at the bottom, sometimes, gets perfectly crispy from the hot stone bowl, and when combined with the sauce, it creates the most flavorful bite. The Kimchi Stew is well-seasoned and comforting, and the wings are also incredibly tasty. The staff are warm and attentive, which makes the dining experience even better. Service is fast and friendly. Lunch box prices are good until 3pm and after that there will be a $3 charge added to it. Short ribs are tasty but the price is in the higher end at $29. Interior is much better than the old rotten sushi buffet that was serving horrible sushi. Ordered food from Seoul Jangteo their sister restaurant and had to call and cancel the order shortly after. They saw me walking by their restaurant a week later and called my number they had saved to see if I would pick up my phone. They watched me from across the street at their window as I took my phone out of my pocket to confirm it was me. Shortly after this, the manager crossed the street and started following me demanding money for the order I cancelled. I never even received the food, and he didn't even offer any fair compromise like money for a new order, just demanded the money. I said I didn't know what he was talking about but he began following me around when I kept trying to walk away from him and kept following me demanding the money. I filed a police report. I've been stalked by phone, followed and confronted in public in my own neighborhood where I live by the store manager. Several employees stood outside and were watching the whole time almost like they were his cheerleaders or on his side or something. Other people on the sidewalk just watched and I felt humiliated. I had my cat with me in my arms the whole time which I was in the middle of trying to carry her home. When he decided to walk away from me he said "I'll see you again". I lived down the street and eaten here on occasion for over eight years, never coming back again. read more
