My favorite snack place! Love their roasted sweet potatoes, popped rice snacks, and of course, the freshly made red bean fish buns!!!

We decided to give this place a try for dinner after reading the reviews…read more The restaurant is very small, with the whole place being the dining room. The ordering counter is there right when you enter and around the corner are tables that seat up to 2-4 guests. One wall is a chalkboard that has the specials written on it along with some artwork and the words "Welcome to Wooram". On the opposite wall are mounted TV screens that show the menu and another mounted screen can be seen near the front as well. Daughter ordered #22 spicy squid stir fry rice bowl with an egg. She got it in a stone bowl for an extra $1. The egg was also an extra $1. It was worth it! She loved the spiciness of the squid. The stone bowl made the rice crispy on the bottom and was delicious. Hubs preferred pork bone stew and liked it a lot. He's always craving soup and always liked this stew. Pork was nice and soft and stew was perfectly salted. Lastly, I had the spicy chicken stew and thought it was pretty good. Only critique is that I wished there were more potatoes in my stew. It's nice that they were generous with the chicken but I wanted more potatoes. LOL. It was a bit spicy and the potatoes would've cut down the spiciness. This place used to be at the Hmart food court. We didn't realize it until we saw their menu. It's as though they took the menu from the food court and brought it over to their restaurant. Overall, service was quick and friendly. Will definitely return to try other items on the menu!

I've come here a few times over the years, and I have repeatedly had problems. I typically ask for the meat on the side, and there's about a 50/50 chance it comes on top. They also messed up my order several times, and there's a chance they refuse to replace it (even if the receipt item doesn't match with what they gave me). I do not blame the cashiers or workers for this because I've ordered with several of them and had the exact same issues. This is a management-level problem. Most recently, they charged me for something I didn't order and said they were unable to do a partial refund. I told them that I didn't order the item and didn't want it, and they told me that a refund wasn't possible, so they gave me the item and a bonus soda. I appreciate the attempt to make up for it, but it just isn't enough. Why am I forced to buy something I didn't want? It also didn't even taste good. I can understand making a mistake every once in a while, but this is excessive. I won't be coming back to eat here again, and I can't recommend this place to anyone.

Outstanding and worth the 35 minute wait for a table…read more We visited on a Wednesday at dinner time and waited on a bench outside until our table was ready. Once we were seated, the service was helpful and efficient. The menu is large and varied. Everything that we tried was delicious. The Spare Ribs with Garlic and Eggplant with Minced Pork were particularly good. The room is clean and comfortable.

The hostess saw this and asked if we moved the table and told us not to do that... After we told her why we moved the table she said no don't do that. Odd... but ok. We got the pork sticky rice shumai, pork in garlic sauce over rice, sautéed string beans and pepper corn chicken. Shumai was ok. The pork in garlic sauce had way too much sauce and was a tad sweet for our liking; it was drowning in sauce. The strings and pepper corn chicken were very good. Both had a slight touch of heat. I wish we ordered differently but overall the food was ok. Our server was very nice and attentive. We're debating coming back to try more of the menu but with so many Asian/Chinese restaurants to try in Edison, I think we'd try someplace else.

I've eaten at Ottoyee for months now, and each experience has been incredibly delicious. However, the only thing is that the wait time can run very long. Not for the food to arrive, but for placing the order. We tried to get the attention of the waiter on staff multiple times, but was either ignored or they were behind the screen attending to something else. The wait time was around 15-20 minutes, but this is likely attributed to the small staff. Otherwise though, they were incredibly kind and knowledgeable of the menu and we still had a delicious experience as usual.

I so wanted to love this place, and was so excited to try it when reading the menu. Otoro? Ramen?…read moreGyudon? It all sounded like the perfect restaurant, but I'm really hesitant to return. Upon entertaining on a weekend evening, there were a few tables with patrons but not too busy. The restaurant did seem a bit understaffed with only one person taking orders / bringing food out, making it difficult to flag down this one person to successfully take our order and ask for anything additional throughout the night. Gyudon: for the price, we were really surprised at how small of a portion this was. It was not only in a small bowl, but the meat was layered on top perfectly deceiving you to think that there was more than there actually was. The majority of this dish was rice, and with limited sauce at that. As displayed on the menu images it was to be served with a runny egg, but unfortunately we got a fully cooked one (disappointing, as we were looking for something to mix with the rice!) Sushi: We got a 3 rolls and they were just alright. They were pretty small in size, with less rice than I'm used to (which is something I do like - I would rather more fish than rice!) With us getting spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and spicy scallop - they all kind of tasted the same, so I wish the fish wasn't as heavily masked with spicy mayo. Ramen: I got the black garlic ramen, and it wasn't the best, but wasn't the worst. I've purchased fresh ramen packages in the supermarket before and it tasted just like that, so it made me disappointed knowing I could achieve the same at home. The soup itself was extremely rich and fatty, and the charsiu had no flavor whatsoever leaving much to be desired. The main reason I'm rating this so low is upon having my last bites of sushi, I could tell something was off. I don't recall which specifically I had but I made a statement that it was extremely fishy and off putting. Fast forward later that night, I was hunched over the toilet vomiting with stomach pain - and I can deduct that the sushi was the culprit. I might consider trying Ottoyee again due to the great deals they have listed on food delivery apps, but the sushi quality (quite literally) put a bad taste in my mouth.
