Food was very tasty There was also a spicy chart to choose your personal level of spicy dish dependent. I did feel as if for the price the portions were rather on the small side. Service was fast Not a loud restaurant. Mellow Jaz played in the background. So good for dates and having conversations

Standard tofu soup house. Not a big fan of soft tofu soup but decided to try this place anyways and it was ok but my friend who like tofu soup really like it. I like the amount of sides we got but it wasn't worth the price in my opinion. Located in the hmart plaza it's pretty easy to find and there's a lot of foot traffic but I found the service to be a bit rude. My friends mentioned the service tended to be bad but they liked the food a lot of didn't mind putting up with it but personally I wouldn't come back

Solid tofu soup with a clean ambiance and good selection of banchan side dishes. I don't have a great spice tolerance so the mild tofu soup is a perfect spice level of not really being spicy but still having some flavor. I ordered a mixed tofu soup and it was pretty good with a decent amount of seafood and beef and a good balance of tofu. This is located in the Hmart parking lot and it can get incredibly crowded, especially on weekends, and since it's close to Rutgers it's convenient for college students to come eat here. However, the service was pretty mediocre. Once we ordered our food and they gave us our tofu soups, they rarely returned again to check on us. We managed to flag a waiter down and get one refill of the side dishes, but other than that we never saw them until it was time to pay the check.

It was a busy weekend in the plaza. Honestly we were originally going to other restaurant than So Kong Dong. Fate took us here, and it was not a disappointment at all. Maybe the hot weather, people didn't pick soon tofu for their lunch. However, the strong air conditioning and not-so-crowded at the store, made So Kong Dong not a bad choice for the family gathering on weekends! Various small dishes before our orders, and slow turntable created a chillaxing ambiance. The food was average Korean, however, if you're in long line for other restaurants in the same plaza though not obligated to stick with it, So Kong Dong could be your alternative option.

Went for dinner on a rainy day and ordered the mushroom tofu soup with ramen. Absolutely perfect meal for that type of weather. Food was hot and filling, and the sides are always good. Definitely a spot I would come to again and again for comfort food.

Been here a few times before we go shopping at H-mart and food has always been pretty good. Nice that they also give you a menu with pictures. And they refill appetizers that comes with the meal without question which is nice because the kimchi here is really tasty. Area and bathrooms are clean, and spacing with tables is just right not packed in like sardines

Went for an early dinner on a Saturday afternoon and there wasnt a wait time. The food is delicious as usual. When it's not busy, you'd get more sides and service is better. Ambiance bright and clean. The kimchi tofu soup was hot and served with a bowl of rice.

One of the best places in the area to get Korean food. It comes with a large amount of Korean sides like kimchi, marinated cucumbers, fish cakes, bean sprouts and I'm not the biggest fan of how the sides tasted but Japchae is a classic crowd pleaser. The bibambap also came in a stone bowl so it definitely impressed anyone who hasn't had Korean food before. The place is casual and laid back. The service is relatively fast.

Mid. Service was standoffish and the food was mediocre. We ordered a seafood sundubu and an octopus noodle dish. The sundubu came out 20 minutes before the noodle dish--if we hadn't been sharing our food, that would have been horrible. Very few octopus and seafood pieces in everything. And all the food was sweet. I'd rather eat in the food court at hmart.

Food looked so good but didn't taste good! My baseline is Manhattan K-Town and i thought the banchan (side dishes) were really good but their actual entrees were lacking! The spicy beef soup didn't really taste Korean it has a different spice flavoring but was ok at best. The beef in the soup was tough because it was overcooked but the seafood pancake was decent!

Decent spot for tofu soup (sundubu) on a cold day. This place is located next to H-Mart alongside several other Korean food establishments so you do have a fair pick of options to go to. This place hit the spot with its selection of soups and stews and the menu was not overwhelming which was good because there are so many options on the shopping center in general. The soups were good and plentiful and the seafood pancake was great as well. We ordered the mixed tofu soup with seafood and beef and there wasn't as much seafood in there as we thought there would be. I think the seafood pancake had more...but I guess that's ok. Given that it's located in a shopping center with lots of other Korean food options, it's hit or miss if this place is full or half full but regardless the service was attentive and the vibe inside was not too hectic which was great cause we were looking for a meal with a quieter crowd. It was also nice that the tables were spaced out nicely with barriers in between.

This is my go-to spot for tofu soup, especially during the cold weather! When I'm in the area, I always order mushroom tofu soup with medium spice and it always hits the spot. I've gone to Korean restaurants where I live, but their soondubu doesn't satisfy me as much as this place. The banchan are also good and they refill them - cucumber, salad, bean sprouts, fish cake, kimchi. There was also a guy who kept refilling our hot tea, so service was readily available.

Good place for Korean food. It's in the same complex with other Asian foods, including H-Mart. We have visited here multiple times. Never had bad experience here. Ribs and tofu soup are definitely recommended item on the menu. Pancake is also good, too. They starts you off with tea and some different dishes of Kimchi. Excellent services as well. I recommend this place, if you have craving for Korean food.

They were running late since the whole front was full of people not seated. We ordered within 10-15 mins, however were told that they were out of a Mother's Day special and bread. BREAD! The excuse from a manager was that they ordered fresh bread from a vendor. What I gathered is that they did not take a look at their reservations, and decided not to order more to accommodate everyone. Mind you, it was only 7pm. The people behind us had been complaining of not getting their food, which should've been a signal. All around us, no one was getting their food, and the food coming out of the kitchen was sparse. Pretty sure they overloaded the kitchen staff, and the waiters took the heat because all I heard/saw was them apologizing for the long wait. If you ordered drinks or raw seafood, you got that ok. Otherwise, you would be SOL. We did not get any food until 8:20!!! And that includes our appetizers. Our entrees came out about 10-15 mins later because our waiter put in everything so there was no downtime. This included hungry children, which was just basically Mac and cheese, which we needed to be reheated cause it was so watery. All we got from the manager was a sorry. Even after we told them that this was bad managing of food service, number of reservations, etc. They did not offer any discount for the wait of our reservation or food. No 'hey', here's a complimentary dessert. Nothing but "sorry". Seems like a money grab that night. After spending $500-$600 on a very lackluster meal, which I feel many patrons that night felt, I would highly suggest spending your money elsewhere.

Our party was situated downstairs at a nice round table. This really helped us share the seafood tower and pass clams around. Dinner was also very good. Just about everyone ordered something different, and we left pretty happy. The only issue was the music. I don't know if this is the case for the entire restaurant, but the downstairs had bouncy ukulele covers for the entirety of our time there. It was also a bit too loud. I felt like I had to get up to hear someone sitting a few people away from me, or speak too loud to for shared space because there's a bouncy ukulele covers of Without You by The Kid LAROI. (No, that's not an embellishment. That actually played.) All in all, we had a great time, great food, in a beautiful space. Natalie was a very attentive service. But please, maybe some different music?

I visited Steakhouse 85 for the first time on Thursday, March 19th. We all know the food is fantastic, but what impressed me even more was the employees. When I walked in, I was greeted by the hostess, who had a big smile and bright eyes. She showed us to our table swiftly, and during our time there, her smile and warm welcome continued as she greeted other incoming diners. Our waiter appeared quickly with the first question would you like something to drink, water, etc. After the initial greeting, and now ready to take our order, he excitedly told us he had the pleasure of tasting most of the items he suggested. His excitement about the food he had the "pleasure of tasting" (his words) was apparent. Also, I had the pleasure of speaking to Monica, a manager at Steakhouse 85. She was kind, thoughtful, insightful, and well spoken. I could easily see why she holds that position and could have talked to her as I would a good friend. How a great manager like Monica gets those around them to react positively is by example; in other words, it's the ripple effect. It is easy to see that she is the type of person who, no matter what she does or where she goes in life, success will follow. Also, I want to say thank you to the owner and all the managers because hiring the right employees, from the cooks, busboys, and servers, is not an easy job in itself. The key to success is not just about the food; it's also the employees who add to the establishment's success! Great Job To All Of You! Kindness should never be taken for granted these days! Frances
