The gentleman at the window was very pleasant and helpful. I wanted some thing very basic (and not really on the menu) and he took care of me. The bulgogi taco was delicious. Potstickers were good. If you're looking for something more filling I would get the rice bowl. The portions were very generous and the food was very affordable. The workers were very nice and the food came out quickly. This food cart is located in the Hawthorne asylum with lots of seating and all the spaces were pretty clean. It was surprisingly not that busy on a Saturday evening, I think I got lucky coming before the dinner rush. After ordering they were still making the beef so I had to wait 15 minutes for it to be ready. There were things to check out around the area so the time went by pretty quickly. Rice Bowl with Beef 8.5/10 - I was hungry at the time of this meal so opening that box was like opening treasure. It was very tasty and I ate it all really quickly, but I wish there had been more kimchi. With the amount that was given, it seems like a no brainer to go with the 2 potstickers. Although, I would definitely get this again if I ever come back. Potstickers 9/10 - I also got the 5 potstickers on the side, and these really also really good. Korean Twist was an adventure we took by accident, and I'm so grateful the other place was closed. I absolutely love Bulgogi, and it was really hard to try something with a different protein, but we did! Our party tried out the Teriyaki Chicken Yakisoba, Bulgogi Tacos, and Bulgogi Rice Bowl with the pot stickers. Everything was amazing! There serving sizes were large, but more importantly the food tasted absolutely amazing. Everything was hot when we got, and it only took about 10 minutes to get ALL of our food! At the Cartopia food truck, my family and I got a number of different items all from different places so that we could get a taste of everything! One of the items we got was this spicy pork bowl with rice, veggies, and pot stickers! This was pretty delicious but could use some minor improvements. We liked how the portions were HUGE, but felt that the spicy pork was lacking substance. The pieces were very small and the flavor was a little off - almost more sweet than spicy how we like! I liked how the rice was able to catch the marination remnants of the meat and almost give the rice some korean flavor. Enjoyed this food truck and I would also be interested in trying the burrito -- a few people around us ordered it and wow.. it was one of the largest burritos I have seen! Bulgogi burrito bowl was delicious! The beef was well marinated and it was a pretty good portion! It had a bit too much lettuce for my liking, but guess it makes me be somewhat healthy! I'd seen this cart downtown, but never tried it, so was kind of excited to see it opening in the Hawthorne Asylum. I had an order of potstickers, a rice plate, and a side of kimchee. Potstickers were good, with the right amount of crispiness. The rice plate with bulgogi was a daunting amount of food, with half the container full of rice, topped with a generous amount of bulgogi. I got the side of kimchee with the rice plate, and there was also a little bit of salad with a miso based dressing. Probably enough food here that that could easily be split between two. The kimchee was fine too, though was a little disappointed it wasn't a napa cabbage kimchi but seemed to be a western cabbage quick kimchi. Disappointed mainly since I was actually craving some heavily fermented kimchi, but ended up with the light, summery kimchi. Still tasted good, just not what I had been craving. In any case, I'm super excited to have more Asian flavors in the inner SE. read more

Food: I posted photos of what I ordered. Great portions that were very tasty. Only bad thing about this place is there were not many drink options. I would like some sort of boba. The bulgogi wasn't the greatest but it wasn't bad. It came with onions on top which I am not a fan of (I wish I knew they came on top). The chicken was really tasty as well as the teriyaki sauce. There was no boba/drinks really inside this food truck area. Service: We had the owners son helping us. He didn't mind cooking Teriyaki chicken for us even thought it was only about 15 minutes before they close (he said it would take about 10-minutes, this was also the best part of the meal it was very tasty because it was freshly made). Cleanliness: I always worry about this at food trucks because what do they have; running water? power? I've seen too many taco trucks that have neither. I was pretty excited when I saw that not only did this place have running water and power it also had a place for the employees to wash their hands. There was also a hand washing station for the customers in the back of this Hawthorne Asylum place. Environment: Great ambiance. Really clean for what the place is. Nice shaded area for people to eat. I wish more food truck areas were like this, much cleaner than the food truck area downtown. Overall: I recommend this place! I've come to really love Asian fusion, especially Korean fusions!! These tacos were really good! I had ordered only 2 to give them a try and wow was I surprised! The bulgogi was so tender and perfectly flavored, I had ordered without bean sprouts since I'm not a huge fan of it but without it, it was delicious. Each taco comes with a mayo sauce, slaw, lettuce, and cilantro The beef bulgogi comes with bean sprouts and the tofu taco comes with seaweed. We also added hot sauce because who doesn't like spicy!? The added hot sauce really mixed well with the mayo. I'd definitely come back and try their chicken taco. The Korean twist is a must try if you want to experience a fusion of flavors. read more

It was our first time at Hawthorne Asylum and KT really drew us in because my boyfriend and I genuinely love some good Korean fusion food. The burrito is pretty big for the price you pay ($8) - I was shocked by the price because that's SUPER reasonable as I've paid nearly double the price tag elsewhere. The bulgogi beef is marinated so well, it was really flavorful and tender. The veggies also tasted fresh and crisp. In my own personal opinion, the burrito just needed a good spicy mayo or some sort of creamy sauce to really tie everything together. easily my favorite food cart at the asylum cart pod. service is always friendly and quick, the food is consistently good and very well priced. i always go with the tacos or pot stickers. the bulgolgi beef and teriyaki chicken are usual go-to for protein. i really love the taco combo which for $9 you get three tacos, fried rice & kimchi or salad, i always opt for the kimchi which i think is made in house and it's delicious. their fried rice is simple but particularly good as well. will def be back & highly recommend to anyone craving korean fusion. read more
