August 13/2026: Brunch with Lindsay. This should be broken down into what the food/restaurant was about & what took place after the food service. To start, we ate alfresco. It was a decent patio & our server (Dari) was good & pleasant enough. Mine was the Eggs Benedict ($18.45). Also had a side of bacon ($4.50). All was tasty but I had to send the bacon back for more cooking. What happened after was the issue! The restaurant did not have an accessible washroom! My fellow diner is disabled & wasn't able to access a washroom as they were down a very narrow flight of stairs & were obstructed! The AODA states that all disabled persons must have access to facilities! Because of this, he was forced into a degrading spot! This is simply unacceptable!! Came here for brunch and got some of their specials. Got the regular beef burger as well as the mushroom one. The flavor was pretty good but the beef was a bit dry and tough for both but overall not bad. If you let the burger sit, the buns also get soggy which kinda suck. The omelet that I got were pretty good with the toasted buttered and toasted well and pretty good salad. The hashbrowns were whole potato's which I didn't like as much but was very crispy. KOS is a great spot to grab brunch right in Kensington market. I stopped in for lunch this weekend and was happy we were able to get a seat on the patio! It was quite busy but our server came over to drop off menus and returned a bit later with our waters. There were lots of options on the menu to choose from. I didn't see any iced coffee on the menu so I opted for a coke. I was deciding between a few breakfast options and settled on the California eggs and my partner ordered the eggs with chorizo. Mine was more of a breakfast quesadilla and his was like a scramble. We both weren't expecting them to look like they did but we still really enjoyed our meals! There's so many places in Kensington Market that I was surprised that I've only found out about Kos recently. Kos is a bit more tucked away from the main Kensington Market intersections so it's a bit easy to miss. Philly Steak Sandwich: The portions of the steak was a lot. It may not seem like it in the photo but the slices of steak was really spilling out a lot because of how much steak there was. The bread, and the rest of the toppings were alright however, I felt like it was missing some sort of kick besides the typical sandwich as it seemed a bit too dry. I think some sort of sauce to add a more flavourful kick would elevate the quality of the sandwich. Overall, I wouldn't mind revisiting again to give a try on their other dishes. It seems to be quite spacious especially the patios. Definitely a suitable spot for brunches and for when the weather gets warmer in the summer. read more

This was one of the places that I bookmarked, and I finally got a chance to visit with my friend! We came by on a Friday evening to have a good meal and a good conversation. The patio was set up outside, with brightly-coloured lights and spacious furnitures. The wind was picking up a bit, but we didn't mind. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. My friend ordered a beef burger (served with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mustard, relish, and mayo) and added fries (for extra charge). I ordered a veggie omlette with mushrooms (comes with homefries, toast, and fresh salad). My friend's meal came in a weaved basket and my meal came on an oval-shaped dish. He said the burger was juicy and just the right amount of portion to fill him up. The fries were fresh and lightly salty. I enjoyed my omlette- there was enough mushrooms. The homefries were hot and lightly salty. The toast was two slices of white bread cut across in half, buttered in between. The salad was fresh, but the portion was very tiny- there could have been more. You should know: The current price of meals is not reflected on the website's menu. Therefore, it needs to be updated to inform potential customers and/or returning customers about the current pricing. Another great experience today. I'm surprised they are open due to the crazy snow weather. But I'm glad they did, because my tummy needed some goood delicious food. The one thing tiny tinsey little thing I didn't like was the hash brown today (other days have been way better). It looked more like a mashed potatoes rather than "hash brown potatoes". Friendly service. Unfortunately the food is not very good, using poor quality ingredients, and the bathrooms are pretty gross, where the tap is broken into multiple pieces and barely attached to the sink. I got the chicken souvlaki and it was terrible. I think they may have undercooked the chicken. The tzatziki was a bland mayo-based sauce with maybe shreds of cucumber but not sure, didn't taste garlicky, and I don't think yogurt was used (or at least not the right kind) and the "traditional Greek salad" was not traditional at all (it had lettuce and poor quality black olives, like the kind cheap pizza and sub restaurants use). The salad dressing wasn't bad. The rice was plain boiled brown basmati rice with no seasoning or anything. I've never had a sadder chicken souvlaki meal in my life. The seating is very cramped so if you're looking for restaurants that practice social distancing between tables, this isn't it. The acrobatics the guy behind me needed to do to get into his seat without squishing me were interesting. I have no idea why this restaurant is so highly rated, it was a total disappointment. I felt compelled to apologize to my friend for suggesting we go there. Adding a 2nd star because the staff are friendly and come by with free coffee refills frequently. The restaurant interior was basic and simple. The cashier was also the server was a very attentive and kind young lady. Breakfast was a bit on the slim and expensive side. Coffee/tea was not included with the meal and was priced very high at $3.50 a cup. We had the huevos rancheros and it was styled very much like the mexican style. For only $27, this is the perfect refresher to share with friends or family outdoors. The Sangria (I opt for the red) is fruity but not too sweet and the margaritas are tangy but definitely pack a punch. The KOS patio is ideal for people watching and the relaxed atmosphere makes you feel like you could lounge there all day. The inside of the restaurant is nothing special so I would definitely try pay them a visit on a patio worthy day. Probably just bad luck. Huevos con chorizo 4.5/5 - this dish tastes way better than it looks. The chorizo, mixed with black beans and guacamole is delicious. We salt and peppered it, then added some spicy sauce. It was super yummy. Grilled veggies ciabatta 3/5 - don't order this on delivery, since the oils from the veggies will soak the bread and make it soggy. The veggies themselves were delicious though. The ciabatta was $8 and the Huevos was $11. Price is not bad considering how full we were. Would recommend the Huevos. read more

I have to update my review and give this place a 1 star. I came here yesterday morning with my family for breakfast as they were visiting the city. The place was freezing inside because they left the windows over and it was chilly out. We asked to be moved and I noticed a waiter and waitress rolling their eyes at our decision to switch tables due to it being chilly by the window. I shrugged it off and then they did it again . I was shocked and told my family to grab their belongings and we were going elsewhere and that's exactly what we did. The only reason they were keeping the window open was to be able to pass food outside of the window to their patio area to avoid walking around through the door due to laziness. Very bad experience. If you are looking for ambiance, this is not the place for you. But if you're looking for inexpensive greasy spoon fare, that is consistently good, stop on by. The interior of this place is lacking in pretty much everything. From the mismatched tables/ quasi booths to the single colour that seems to define the place, KOS doesn't have much of a "feel" to it. The patio, however is large, mostly shady and surprisingly quiet. Service in general is good (although I have witnessed a waitress get into a fight so severe, one of the owners had to hold her back from attacking the incredibly rude customer) and they get pick up orders ready very quickly. Grilled cheese here is wonder bread with processed cheese (but sometimes, isn't that nice?) and BLTs are loaded with tons of meat. The chicken Caesar salad is a staple amongst my coworkers, which is surprisingly decent and a large has an entire chicken breast in it. French Toast with fresh fruit is a great deal - 3 slices (not halves, but actually pieces of bread) loaded with banana, strawberry, kiwi, blueberries, pineapple and melon. Came here on a Saturday afternoon for brunch. Surprisingly we didn't have to wait despite it being a busy day. Most people were sitting on the patio. It is also a kid friendly place. There were quite a few families sitting on the patio. Service was somewhat slow possibly because it was also quite busy. The best part is that they serve alcohol and have pretty good cocktails/margaritas. I had the Bellini and my friend had a Caesar. We were both happy with our drinks. Both had decent alcohol content to them. I'm giving it an extra star for having alcohol and no line ups on a busy sunny Saturday. The food wasn't exceptional but was quite tasty. I had the salmonnie which came with two eggs and smoked salmon. I especially liked the hollandaise sauce, which was quite creamy and the tangy taste was just right. Definitely worth checking out if you want to sit on a patio and have some cheap drinks and snacks. The service can get a little slow when it's busy, but it's always really friendly.
