While visiting a car dealer on Orange Blossom Trail, I spied the food truck across the street with "arepa" in all caps. After getting recommendations from the dealer staff, I headed over while waiting for work to be completed. I ordered both the Arepa La Peluda and a chicken empanada and waited for a little bit while they were made fresh. The arepa was packed full of seasoned, shredded beef with a healthy serving of cheese. The chefs made sure I knew where the sauce was located on the truck and I obliged them with a few plastic to-go containers. The first bite...wow! The beef, the cheese, the sauce made for a heavenly excursion for my taste buds. The mix provided one flavorful vote after another. The loaded arepa was meal by itself so I save the empanada for the next day. The empanada was fine but was diminished by the amount of grizzle mixed in with the shredded chicken. I've attempted to return for another arepa but each time I arrive on a day the truck is closed or it hasn't yet opened.
