Bagel Bar East is a popular North Miami deli for brunch. Parking can sometimes be challenging, and sometimes there's a wait to get a table, but only sometimes and usually not too long or challenging. It's casual and comfortable with efficient service for a filling meal of your deli favorites... over-stuffed sandwiches, matzoh ball soup, fresh bagels and eggs, almond crusted French toast, matzoh Brie, blintzes, and the list goes on. The deli special, Reuben, and any sandwiches with brisket or corned beef and coleslaw are some of our favorites. I got pancakes here once and that's probably the only thing I wouldn't get again... super dry. Stick to the delicious French toast instead. We like the low salt Bagel Bar uses in dishes that other restaurants typically make way too salty. Just good food without needing to hide behind salt. On nice days, the patio gets filled up, but it's often too hot and we're more comfortable inside, either at one of the tables or bar seating. We've also stopped here a few times to grab a matzoh ball soup or baked goods like a fresh baked black & white cookie to go. You can generally expect to pay around $17 per meal, and you can definitely expect to leave completely stuffed, sometimes with leftovers to take home. read more

It breaks my heart to write this review but every thing went wrong with an order we placed via UberEats!! Food was terrible!! We order an omelette with mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, onions and bacon , we received an omelette with spinach and tomatoes , my husband is allergic to spinach, they didn't send the bagel with cream cheese and forgot to send the maple syrup for the challah French toast and we don't have maple syrup at home...so the French toast went to the garbage too. Service was awful, terrible and just careless. We are great costumers of this place as you can tell in our other reviews but this time our experience was very unpleasant! Really wish I could say 4.5 stars. I was bothered by the numerous flys outside but the outdoor seating area was too cute not to sit. Very decent small place in a nothing location. Quite the gem. I discovered this place because I wanted a bagel sandwich. They have an indoor and outdoor seating area with parking in back. The ambiance was nice and it looks like a great place to sit with friends and enjoy or grab take out like I did. I enjoyed my Salmon Bagel Sandwich with the coleslaw on the side. I saw some unfamiliar food items in the large displays and asked for a recommendation. I tried the Potato Knish. The service was so amazing that the gentlemen wrote instructions for me to heat at home with temperature and time. I look forward to trying the Spinach Knish next time. Literally drive down from Tampa this morning, arriving before 11 AM on a Sunday and the parking lot was packed, and the restaurant was packed, but we were able to sit at the counter. Our server was hustling, but she was friendly. My husband polished off his salt bagel with nova smear, and my onions, eggs and lox was yummy and filling. Their challah is fantastic too. Bought one two weeks ago when we were here and it was delicious. Loved the friendly Cuban gentleman at the register whom I spoke to for a while... be sure to give him some NY Mets love!!! read more

Customer service was so so. The staff behind the register was friendly when ringing us out. Our server didn't do anything wrong, but the service felt very minimal. For example, She didn't check on us during the meal, we had to wave her down when I requested to change my coffee. We also waited quite a while for her to acknowledge that we were finished and ready for the check. On to the food. They have lots of options including breakfast and lunch. The bagels are baked fresh in house daily. The everything bagel was a nice add on to my SEC. I got a side of home fries and the portion was excellent. They have their own varieties of cream cheese and although the blueberry bagel was fresh although I saw the blueberries i didn't pick up any blueberry flavor. The iced coffee wasn't good at all. She was kind enough to switch it to hot which was better. Being from up north I was excited that they carry juniors cheesecake but both slices, the original and red velvet tasted stale. Ultimately we threw out both slices- it's a different type of hurt spending money on food that's not up to par but more disappointing that it tasted so bad had to throw it away. read more

Bagel Bar has been around forever!!! Today was the day I was in the mood for comfort food. I haven't been here in a few months and noticed right away there was a whole new staff. Perhaps the kitchen remains the same but the front of house was definitely different. It missed that warm and inviting feel. Went during the lunch hour and surprisingly it was kind of empty. Ordered a roast beef on a Kaiser Roll and coffee. Bread was stale, roast beef was tasty and the macaroni salad was good. Service was meh. No refills on coffee or checking in. Bagel bar looked good from afar but it was far from good, more like mediocre. I sat at the bar and ordered a toasted sesame bagel with cream cheese and it came out untoasted and not even sliced. First and last time at Bagel Bar Miami. The food was fine -- nothing special -- but the experience left a bad taste that had nothing to do with the bagels. We were a group of four adults and a 2‑year‑old. Anyone with kids knows you don't eat at "fast‑pace restaurant speed." Still, after barely 35 minutes, they dropped the check on the table like they were trying to flip the seat as fast as possible. That's when things got shady. On a bill of about $146, the total suddenly jumped to $176+. Why? Because the gratuity was already added -- and not just added, but they chose 22% for us. The receipt even showed three tip options: 20%, 22%, 24%. So they picked the middle one... the higher one... without saying a word. Where was the 18% option? Why give me "choices" if you already made the choice for me? I asked for the manager. Instead of the manager, the server came back with a new bill -- magically with the tip removed and new tip options: 18%, 20%, 22%. So from the beginning, they intentionally selected the highest tip bracket and hoped nobody would notice. When the manager finally came, he explained they add automatic gratuity on bills over $100 because "this isn't fine dining and we move fast." Funny -- they don't consider themselves fine dining when rushing you out, but they sure charge tips like they are. And here's the real problem: The server never mentioned the automatic tip It wasn't printed on the menu It wasn't disclosed on the receipt All of which is required by Florida law. So yes -- what they're doing is illegal. I'm not someone who writes reviews, but I can only imagine how many people they've pulled this trick on who didn't check the bill or didn't want to make a scene. If they're willing to play games with the receipt, it makes you wonder what other corners they're cutting behind the scenes. First and last visit. Miami has too many honest places to waste time on one that relies on deception to squeeze extra dollars out of customers. read more

Orders half dozen bagels at 7 Sunday morning, expecting hot fresh bagels and got day old stale bagels. Thankfully Uber eats refunded. Nicely and as a courtesy I called the place to tell them they had stale egg and plain bagels. The lady was nice enough and I told her I didn't want anything. Later I got calls from a No Caller ID, and finally after multiple calls I answered and a guy was saying he gave me fresh bagels, which is really funny but also little creepy. I am sure it was an accident, but being from NY I know a bagel quite well and these were only toastable , too stale to eat fresh, which is what I thought I would get at 730am on a Sunday. Update 10/14/24- this guy at the bagel place has now called me 10 times since yesterday all to tell me he sold me fresh bagels, which he didn't. This was not a big deal until this harassment. Absurdly priced, terrible service, and the food isn't even very good, it's bland. What gives?

We've been to this place several times now and all I got was bad customer service after giving them several tries. They don't make you feel welcome. The staff and especially the management are rude and condescending. They have a big tent in front of the restaurant that seems indicative of the Circus Big Top and the clown show inside. The food is mediocre at best ( over priced ) and the service is lousy. I do not recommend this place. Stay far far away from this place if you want a pleasant experience. read more

Came here on a Saturday morning and the place was BUMPING. Bagel Bar East has dine in or takeout options - we opted to get in line for takeout. The menu is vast and has many breakfast options (which is what we were looking for). The bagels are very tasty - my only complaint has to be that I ordered a whole wheat everything bagel and was dismayed to find that when I got home, I received a whole wheat bagel only. * womp womp * The corned beef hash was good as well. The schmears are the way to go though in my opinion - the large containers in the cold case are a testament to how popular they are. Whether you get the plain or a flavored kind, the texture is smooth and flavors are on point. I love how there are cases of sweets, cookies, and a mini-market of sorts around the take-out area. I am visiting my Family on Miami Beach and was looking for a bagel spot for breakfast. I've passed by this location for years and I haven't been around the way for some time and wow what a renovation! The place looks brand new. We walked in and we were seated very quickly, took two minutes before someone took our drink order. I got to say everything was delicious! I got a bagel with bacon, egg and cheese with some home fries which I couldn't finish it all. My nephew had a huge bagel with cream cheese and jelly; and my mother had a chicken salad with a bagel and coleslaw. I had a try of the chicken salad and it was very clean, not overloaded with mayonnaise with great amount of seasoning and chunks of white chicken, so good! 12-10-22 Noon I was in North Miami holiday shopping and got hungry so I turned to Yelp for a good bagel place. So I head further South to this place. Once I arrived the confusion started there's a tent in the parking lot?! Ok so people can eat outside, nice. So directly behind I find an available space must be my lucky day. Once inside they guy at the cash register I told him I was one can I sit at the counter. He gives me a menu and I sit down. I access the situation quickly it's clean and bright and very busy. I get acknowledged and so I decide now hey they got deli let's see. The specialty sandwich caught my eye corned beef double with Swiss cheese, Russian dressing and Cole slaw I am there. It's called New York meets Miami Beach. I got potato salad as a side. Even though it was ginormous I easily ate half a sandwich. Funny they didn't ask about the bread but what else is there in this world if it isn't rye bread. I am in love. I have to tell you there is a lot of bad deli in South Florida but today I lucked out! Our server , who constantly can't bring the bagels with the eggs , brought them 5 minutes after our food. It is sad that if you do not train your staff correctly they can destroy your business. Yesterday I went for breakfast and I ask for a side of Pastrami , when I received the bill they charged me 18$ , insane , the new server want to maximize my bill for better tips but in reality he made me to think twice to go back to this place .
