I think is is completely fabulous that you are playing Christmas music after Christmas. I think you should play it until New Year's Eve. It's really sad that stations cancel music right after Christmas, because most of us take time off and this is the time we really connect with the season, and the music keep the spirit alive. KOST is a fixture in my presets for the mere fact that "In the Air Tonight" by Phil Collins is in their playlist. Before deciding on a station to listen to, I'll scan the radiowaves. If KOST is playing Phil, then its on. If not, then no worries. The station serves its purpose well. I was ready to give this station 5 stars just for this one song, but then I realized they play obnoxious holiday music for the ENTIRE month of December. That's doubly negative. While I adore this network during the holidays, their call in competitions seem to be rigged. Not to mention, completely disorganized. Whoever is in charge of tending to the phones must learn that those eager participants who have called in too soon or too late deserve to be told right up front that they have not won. They don't deserve to have their time wasted because a radio network seeks attention. That way we can all move right along with whatever we have planned next. KOST 103.5 used to be a decent radio station, back 10-15 years ago. However... it has degraded substantially, sorry to say. For one, constant repetitiveness! It becomes unbearable to listen to the same stuff - over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over again. Not only that, a song repeats each morning at about the same time! You can literally set the alarm by a specific song they play; isn't that pathetic?! :) But also, KOST has started playing some R&B / Hip-Hop and other similar retarded stuff. Come on, are you guys trying to sound like another KIIS 102.7 or Hot 97.1 station? Don't we have enough of that crap?! :) If you really want to improve your music station, please consider: - Discontinue all your R&B / Hip-Hop stuff; - Improve your variety. Stop playing same stuff over & over again! - In the morning please play something more upbeat, instead of the music that makes you fall asleep!! In the morning we're trying to wake up and go to work, but your elevator slow music just puts us right back to sleep! I would suggest songs like Share ("Do you believe"), ABBA, and other normal, fast-rhythm hits. Thank you! P.S. The reason I gave you 2 stars (not 1) is thanks to your Christmas songs selection. Come on, guys, oh, yee of the humbug variety. Christmas comes but once a year and I take great joy in listening to Christmas music. I make cookies to it, trim the tree, wrap presents... Hmmmm, maybe it's because the ones who don't like listening to it is not getting ready for Christmas. Just a thought. Personally, I love the music and I'm not an old fuddy-duddy by any means. The only thing I would like to hear more of are the newer Christmas music albums that have been made... like Josh Groban, Buble and David Archuleta. Their running statement that they play "less commercials" is a joke. Their commercial breaks are SO LONG and they play commercials like every 3 songs. I'm giving them 3.5 stars for this because I honestly feel like they play the most commercials in Los Angeles. That being said, I don't mind admitting that I enjoy adult contemporary music. It's mostly 80s and 90s that I like... and there's plenty of that on KOST. They're also the Christmas station, but like many cities, they start that stuff way too early. read more

Kost 103.5 is the radio that I listen to whenever I feel nostalgia and when I remember my adolescent years. I miss no longer live in California but thanks to technology I can listen to this radio that brings me many beautiful memories with people who for 20 years I have not seen and I don't think I will ever see again. read more

I was trying to find an email address to contact their programming director. Not available. I tune in for Christmas music. I wanted to, first of all, thank KOST for providing Christmas music. It really helps to get in a festive mood. Only problem is, they seem to go over the same songs, at the same time of day, everyday. There has GOT to be more variety. I'm sure their library is bigger than it seems. Also, I would like to suggest that they start their Christmas music a few days later than they do, AND end it a couple of days AFTER Christmas. Just when we are completely involved with Christmas celebration, they stop the music! Can someone, PLEASE, make note for next year? I've been listening to KOST on and off since I was a kid. I like their mix of both new and old songs. During the morning and afternoon drive times, they have air frequent traffic reports (almost as good as KNX 1070). Since I live in Hemet, radio reception is not all that great, but I am usually able to pick up KOST pretty good. Overall, KOST is still a good station, although I am a little disappointed that they have recently let some great DJs go. read more

Can you all please play more of a variety of Christmas songs. You play "Holly Jolly Christmas" by Burl Ives and an hour later, you play "Holly Jolly Christmas" by Faith Hill. Same thing with "Santa Clause is Coming to Town", "Winter Wonderland", "Happy Christmas"....... playing the same song by a different artist is still playing the same song. So disappointed in Kost 103.5!!!! I won tickets to a concert on the radio with Ellen K about 3 weeks ago, i initially heard from a guy about 2 days after I won, he said they didn't have the tickets yet and that they would contact me one to two weeks before the concert to pick-up my tickets. I never heard from anybody! Last week i started calling and I called and called and called and no one has returned my calls! I finally got ahold of someone which told me they would send me an email to let me know. I NEVER got that email! TODAY i got a call from some extremely rude girl letting me know the concert is tomorrow!! WTF??? 1 day notice??? I told her today was my birthday and I'm going out of town tomorrow !! Her reply, well I don't know what you want me to do!! So now because they are unprofessional & dont have their shit together i lose out on my prize that i won! Please, play something else. Maybe a song from the 90s & 80s. I also had enought listening to Call Me Maybe which has been played more than once in a day. Well, I guess most all radio suck these days! I switched from KRTH101 because it's really no longer plays "oldies", and they play crap now. So much EARTH, WIND and FIRE! I USED to like them, but since KRTH did an overkill on their music, I grew to despise them. There are so many artists out there with great songs, that I don't understand why these stations do a "reel" of only a certain few, and then play them over and over again for what seems like YEARS! Then there's the commercials! OYE! You get about 6 minutes worth of music, then 10 minutes worth of commercials. Then in between all that, you got the "gab" going on with the DJ's. I hope by switching over to KOST 103 things would be better. But nope! I bet if you timed how much actual music plays, and all the other crap, music would lose out. I'm so sick of the radio stations these days. If I hear JOHN LEGEND'S "All Of Me" one more time, I'm going to shoot my radio! ENOUGH! read more

A solid five stars.! I am a light rock junky and this is the only station that I listen to when in LA. They play such a good variety from the 70's to today, better than any other light rock station around. Bay area stations could learn a thing or two from LA stations as JL said. All of the DJs are cheery and get you through your day (Mark is an alternative to coffee and I miss Mike Sacalaridies.) There are never any repeats and Love Songs On The Kost is wonderful; Karen is wonderful in listening to listeners and selecting songs for them if they are having a hared time deciding. As with all light rock stations, I love the month of Christmas music which means that you do not have to dig out your CDs hahahaha.! I could not ask for more in a radio station as this is an example of how light rock stations should be. The best thing is is that I can listen on line between visits.
