I was able to get into the shop, and they replaced the tire under a newly purchased warranty for $25. The staff was friendly, Knowledgeable, and made sure J understood everything before I left. I had been very happy with Kost Tire & Auto Service. In May I finally had my snow tires taken off and my regular tires put back on. As my usual I also had my oil changed as well as a few other items replaced. I realized in June that they did not give me my snow tires and I contacted them, they said they would look for them. I stopped by while in the area and they said they had not found my tires. So today I called (7/27/21) and they never found them. The tires were not very old and still has good tread, they never found the tires, never called to say they didn't find the tires and said I need to contact them in the fall so they can "help me out". I brought my certified pre-owned truck to be inspected. Very friendly service providers however, I was told I needed to change my brake fluid. I said it's a certified pre-owned and ALL the services were done with new tires. I was then told I needed WIPER BLADES or I wouldn't pass. I should have told them I will go elsewhere but time constraints prevented this. Bullied into getting cheesy wiper blades for $42. They lost my trust and business. read more

Would never recommend this place I wish I could give it zero stars the customer service was shot the guy at the front Dess very dismissive everything I asked him to do on my van he claimed that they couldn't do it mentioned that he would not pass me for inspection due to rust on the side doors of my vehicle, mind you the undercarriage is not rusted no suspension parts are rusted nothing underneath is rusted but wouldn't past me because I have one door that was rusted and from that point on I felt that he was being very dismissive everything I asked him after that all he said was no I asked him could he repair my heater he replied no I asked him to repair a valve he replied no I asked him to even check out the car he replied no he couldn't because he was not able and now all of a sudden he was down two techs. read more

Fabulous place!! Staff is always friendly and helpful .... they will accommodate you with appointments and special orders without any problems at all!!! Josh is great at the counter ... always answers the phone quickly, calls you as he promises, and spends the time to go over everything with you about your vehicle. Justin spent this morning changing the tires on our family RV which is no simple task. He was very careful and we know it's a tough job. I have been doing business here for years, and I previously gave them 5 stars. The last couple of times there, I have been extremely disappointed. First, when I got an oil change in one of my cars, they said I needed a new belt. I believe the cost installed was close $100. I asked for the old belt, and they put it in my trunk. When I got home and looked at it, it looked fine. But to be sure, I had two other places check it, and they said they didn't think it was bad. Then, I the next time I was at Kost, I had someone different look at it, and they couldn't figure out why it needed replaced. Then today, I took one of my cars there to check a bulge in the sidewall of a tire I purchased there. They told me on the phone it was probably a pothole without even seeing it, then they said the same thing when I got there. While damage like that may be caused by potholes, I can't imagine how it could do that kind of damage, without knocking wheels out of alignment. Which it didn't. So, after over 15 years of going there, the employee told me to do whatever I had to do, and this is it. I've purchased my last tire there. And I still want a refund for the belt they sold me. read more

My check engine light came on and my car was sputtering, so I took it to Kost to get repaired. They diagnosed a misfire on the 3rd cylinder and also said that they replaced the spark plugs. The cost was $883.46. After a couple of days, the car began sputtering and the check engine light came back on. It was clear that they hadn't fixed the issue. I brought it back once again, they looked at it, didn't charge me, then said that they thought they had resolved the issue. Once again, the car began to sputter w/in a few days and the check engine light came back on. I finally took to the dealer to get repaired. They informed me that although Kost correctly diagnosed the misfire on the 3rd cylinder, they actually replaced the 2nd cylinder. They also showed me the spark plugs that were in my car, which were the original spark plugs! Kost never replaced them but charged me for parts and labor! After taking it to the dealer, the issue was finally fixed. Clearly, Kost did not do what they said they did. The dealer charged me $543.56. The dealer wrote up these issues in the receipt and also provided me w/ the original spark plugs that were still in my vehicle when I initially took it there as evidence of Kost's fraud. I went to Kost to report the issue, at which point, they said that they were going to give me a full refund. A couple of weeks went by and I never heard from them, so I called. They were still looking into the issue but then received a phone call that they were going to refund $543.56. This was what I paid at the dealer, not at Kost! Why would they refund what I was charged at the dealer and not what Kost charged me for their dishonest work? It makes no sense at all. I have tried to resolve the issue and get a full refund from what Kost charged me but several attempts making phone calls have gone unanswered. It's almost been 2 months now. There was one gentleman, John, who was responsive and had to report the issue to someone in their front office to handle. I received the name and number for the individual responsible for at least letting me know what was going on - Ken. Never heard from Ken. Called Ken and left a message. Still no word at all. Very unprofessional, unethical, and to be quite frank, a scam. I have filed a complaint w/ the BBB to resolve this issue. read more

Brought my car here for oil changes, tire rotation and brake jobs. They were pleasant and clean, however, last oil change caused P3400 codes. These codes are catastrophic oil codes. Brought to my husband's mechanic who changed the oil again. The oil he removed was watery and smelled bad. Reset the codes and car is now running well. Mechanics recommendation is to not bring it to them again. I was very disappointed because they always seemed trustworthy. read more

August 2022. We took our SUV in for two new tires and a state inspection. We were informed by Dino over the phone when we scheduled the appointment that they would order our tires and perform the inspection, however they would not provide a sticker that day because they ran out of them a week ago. We brought the car in. We were leaving for vacation in 2 days. We paid for the tires and picked up our car. They informed us it had passed inspection and upon our return from vacation we could bring the car back to obtain the sticker. When we arrived for our sticker, having already had our inspection done, we were told we could NOT have our sticker. They proceeded to tell us that our car had NOT been inspected- this was based on the fact that they COULDN'T FIND THE PAPERWORK with the specs. We dealt with Bryce, Dino and Pete. No one could locate the inspection paperwork. They could not verify whether or not our car had actually been inspected while it was there. We were told we had to bring the car back again to have the car "re-inspected" in order to obtain our sticker. We had been lied to about the inspection initially being performed on our vehicle. Kost tire also lied to us and misinformed us about the inspection sticker situation. We traveled thinking that our vehicle had passed inspection and was safe to drive. There was no apology for this fiasco. We were inconvenienced and lied to and WE WILL NEVER USE OR RECOMMEND KOST TIRE & AUTO SERVICE IN STROUDSBURG, PA again. read more

Failed my car for inspection after waiting 2 hours for my inspection. They told me a part was bad that I had replaced myself less than a year ago. I took the car to someone else and the car passed inspection. The other person told me the part was fine and there was nothing that could make it fail. I feel most was trying to make me spend money on a unneeded repair. I don't recommend bringing your car here. read more

I am truly blown away with this locations customer service. I ended up stranded in PA at 11pm after hitting a serious pot hole flattening two of my tires. I was coming from work I had to do in Syracuse for an entire week and trying to get home to NJ. After learning of the high fee I would have to pay in towing, I decided to stay at a hotel and find service the following day. That did not prove easy when the morning arrived until I reached Kost Tire. By the time I had reached them, I was desperate, tired and running on fumes. Jon answered the phone and I could tell immediately he was going to help me. He even checked in between our initial phone call and when the tires were actually delivered. There was so much more to this process, including my car missing the lug-nut key to get the tires off, that was just another stream of tears I cried that day, but the ENTIRE staff including the mechanics, put me at ease and continued to go above and beyond to make it as peaceful as possible. I don't know what I would have done without this team. There truly are angels in this world. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. First off their out the door pricing is not out the door pricing. My bill wound up being almost $100 more than it should have been. The tires that I needed and came a week early to make sure they had them all of a sudden the "warehouse messes up" and I had to go up in price for a better tire. When they call me to tell me that it was ready magically they tell me that I need a part for my vehicle or they can't do the "free" alignment. Well the part they told me I needed they screwed up because I had just replace it less than a year early. But of course they still couldn't do the alignment because they didn't want to prove to me that I know that they were scamming me. So top this off with an extra "parts charge" , what parts? Everything is included in the "out the door pricing" so what parts you charging me for? They rip people off so be careful. A lot of promises are just a lot of lies. read more

If I could give this establishment 0 stars I would. My family & I have had multiple bad experiences with Kost & will never do business with them again. I urge you to do the same. First about a year ago, we needed tires on our truck and took it to Kost (Brodheadsville) location. They changed our tires & our truck ended up, on the highway on ramp, with a tire that fell off the truck, because they "forgot" to tighten up the lug nuts. If that would have happened on the highway, we could have been killed, or killed someone else, let alone what we had to pay for the tow truck & the damage caused by the incident. We called them and they said there was NOTHING they could do for us. To sue would have been too much money that we didn't have, so we let it go unfortunately. We were told by some friends that even though the Kost in Broadheadsville is not a good location, we could trust the location in Stroudsburg. We recently took our same truck for an inspection at Kost (Stroudsburg) location. They told us we would need 1250.00 dollars worth of work before we could get an inspection. They said the lower steering shaft joint was worn and rotted, inner tie rod ends bad, steering rack uncontrollably leaking fluid. We decided to take the truck for a second opinion because we just had a feeling this wasn't correct. We were right. We got another inspection and everything was a LIE. We got the truck inspected on the spot. 30$ charge instead of 1250$, please save yourself lots of money and anguish, don't go to Kost, they are the worst company to deal with around. read more

After having to contact upper mgmt. to complain about poor service @Brodheadsville location, I finally got someone willing to try to work things out with my tire situation previously reviewed. Dino and Matt were helpful, they did the best they could by pro-rating miles on my tires and giving me a discount on some new tires and alignment at no charge, so at this point I will probably give them another chance at the Stroudsburg store, but sorry, cannot say the same for B-ville store! My husband and I have dealt with kost for years. The guys at the desk are always friendly and provide good feedback as to what work needs to be completed. They have changed tires for no charge! But ask that we give something to the mechanics which I think is reasonable. Try taking your car to a dealership and getting that done for no charge. Labor alone is 75 dollars. We have brought in all types of vehicles and they always have performed the requested work in a timely and professional manner. I highly recommend them. read more
