This was a 55 dollar nail set that's supposed to be gel. Its not smooth or nice in any way. Also my nail tech was super rude and wasn't listening to half of what I said. I was really hoping to leave a good review but I had a strange experience there. For starters there were about 5-7 kids all over the lobby and running from the entrance of the salon to the back. I get it kids can be loud but they were screaming constantly & even bumping into the employee who was doing my pedicure, I'm guessing they were the owners kids? Not sure, the man who did my pedicure said "they've been doing that all day" so I'm guessing it's been noticeable to people as well ... Secondly, I came in for just a gel pedicure I arrived at 6:15pm and didn't end up leaving until 7:40 .... That was the longest pedicure I have had to sit for. I hate that I had to ask the person doing my pedicure how much longer it would take a few times to kind of get the service going Thirdly, I'm not sure if the guy is new or didn't know what he was doing but he wasn't getting the cuticles on my toes, I had to point out where he wasn't filing the edges of the nail & he wasn't curing the gel polish properly so it was constantly running onto my skin. I had to ask him to clean off the polish a few times ... I was lowkey looking around to see if anyone would help him but I believe the other employees were celebrating a birthday and drinking to the side & I just got unlucky as the last customer ... Pretty pricey though. To charge for something that's normal like the shape or whatever should be included. Not happy with the pricing. I have been coming to this salon for 3 years and I have yet to have a bad manicure. Everyone is so attentive and if you go regularly enough like I do other techs will say hi to you as you're in the pedicure chair or will ask you how you're doing as you're at the bar getting a manicure. I usually get a gel manicure and I feel like the techs are so dedicated to making sure you leave with exactly what you want/asked for. Told him that I was in for a gel mani/pedi. He informed me that it would be a 5 min wait, then proceeded to tell me to just find my own chair to seat myself. I did so. It's a Saturday. It's not busy in there. Wide opened seats galore. Maybe 6 ppl are being serviced. I found a seat and waited for 10 min. None of workers acknowledged me or even gave me so much as a 'Hey! Sunday was my first time going to Kouture as it was recommended by a friend. After reading the less than stellar yelp reviews I decided to give this salon a shot because my friend says that he's a frequent patron and d has never had an issue. I should've trusted my instincts. Upon arrival I was inconvenienced first due to the lack of parking. I ended up having pay for parking which was over a block away. Next, because they don't take scheduled appointments on the weekends and I couldn't call in advance.. my friend and I ended up having to waited 30 mins to be assigned to a tech even though when he arrived .. which was 1 hour prior to me he was told the wait was only 45mins. The nail tech who did my manicure was friendly but seemed preoccupied with her phone and other items while doing my manicure. In addition to my manicure I also requested a buff & shine. All I am going to say is, by the time she was finished I felt my nails looked shiner when I arrived however, since I was just trying this place for the first time, I decided not to make a fuss and simply thanked her for her services before being escorted to the pedicure chair. Carla did my pedicure which also included a buff and shine. Carla was friendly, engaging, and gave me her undivided attention while performing services my pedicure turned out amazing! I must say I was truly impressed with the ambiance of the salon. The pictures did the place true justice and we were greeted by 2 nail techs whom got started on us right away. They have amazing massage chairs while getting your pedicure which adds an extra comfort to your visit. My nail tech was a little softer on my service than I'm used to but did an amazing job. I went here yesterday, and got a full set. Thomas helped me. I was so excited because I never get my nails done. Instead, he was watching a video on his phone the entire time and had an AirPod in. He looked like he didn't care to do my nails, and frequently stopped what he was doing to watch the video. I have buildup of skin around my nails from him pushing it around, yet he never got it with the drill. Didn't clean up around my nails either. I literally had nail polish around my nails and had to clean them up myself. Also the acrylics are bumpy and just don't look good. Same with the paint job. Will go elsewhere next time I need my nails done. EDIT: I did not say anything because he was already moved on to another client with his airpod still in. I also had somewhere to be. And no I did not say anything at checkout, nothing at all. Update: Went to another salon in the area to see if they could fix them and they had to remove them due to them falling off. I have been a customer of Kouture for two years, and I have been consistently impressed with the service I receive. Marianna and Thomas are incredible nail technicians and do a very thorough job. I have never had a bad "batch", and I routinely get SNS manicures, often with tips or trendy shapes. I typically do not have any breakage for at least 4 weeks, and often go as long as 6 weeks before a fill. I am a regular client of Marianna's and I look forward to our conversations and time together every month! Kouture has undergone some managerial changes and some interior changes over the years but I am pleased with the end result. Cathy, the manager, is always kind and professional to me. The renovations are beautiful: wall-to-wall marble nail bars and rows of nice, new pedicure chairs. The salon is always clean, and they offer complimentary wine as part of the service. I don't really understand the negative reviews. I recommend Kouture to all of my friends and love their service. read more

I stopped in today to get my toes done and they were AWESOME!!!! Finally a great place to get your nails done, along with other services!! The prices are super reasonable, too. I walked in and was greeted right away and offered a drink and everyone was so nice. Kathy did my pedicure and she was awesome. She was so sweet, took her time, paid attention to detail and my nails look great! They also have online booking which is super convenient. I am not sure why this place has such good reviews. I got my nails done here on a Wednesday and they had already checked by Sunday. I message them and they ended up giving me a gift card to reimburse me so that I could get them re-done which was very nice. I thought it was just the woman who did my nails, but then I got them done again three days ago and one nail already broke. I don't know if it's the glue they're using or if they're not putting enough on there but I have not had a good experience either time. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!! Horrible customer service! I got there at 9:45am..they open up at 10am on the weekends. Literally the first customer through the doors. I show the manager Cathy a picture of the design I wanted and asked if they could do it. She said sure no problem. I was also getting a pedicure. The guy took 1.5hrs on my basic pedicure and a nail repair. He then attempts to do my nails. The design looked like I let my 5 year old niece draw on my finger nails. The other nail techs around were looking and shaking their heads. He drew the design on several times and wiped it off because it did not look right. I kept telling the guy to please let someone else do my design. One of the managers(I'm assuming) comes over and tells me (with an attitude) I can either get a basic design like a French manicure or wait 45 mins!(they wasn't busy at all like you would expect on a Saturday) because now the guy has realized he can't do what I'm asking for. At this time it's 1pm. I told her I've been here since 9:45am and she just shrugged her shoulders. The other nail tech is finally able to do my design and it comes out perfect but I'm still annoyed that it is now 2:45pm and I've been there since 9:45am. When I go to check out I literally hear Cathy say "charge her $40 for the design..I included your tip in that" to the nail tech that did my design. I asked since when was a design $40 and does that reflect on their price menu. Cathy goes no it doesn't but I charge $10 and up for designs. I then remind her that I've been here for now 4hrs and how everyone looked on as the guy nail tech messed my nails up and no one would help me. She just looked at me and responded "everyone does designs different and at least he tried" and walked away. Cathy is very dismissive, rude and does not provide good customer service. A simple apology would've been nice. Cathy..learn to be accommodating, learn how to speak to your customers. We to work hard for our money and should be provided with respectable customer service when choosing to patronize your business. read more

When I first began going to them my nails were tiny nubs & they have done such an amazing job at keeping them healthy, my natural nails are now super long & strong! New to Charlotte, NC from Washington DC. I called, spoke with a manager to be added to the list for pedicure. I live right across the street from the shop. It's a 30-45 minute wait. The shop doesn't take appointments on the weekend. Ok. So, I requested to the manager to be added to the pedicure "waiting list." The manager indicated there isn't any waiting list; it's first come, first served. This is odd. I requested again to be added to "whatever list" sense I live across the street. The manager refused. The manager indicated I had to physically come to the shop to request service, while waiting be added to the "list." The entire interaction was super confusing & nuts. If I'm coming over (across the street) then why not simply add me to the "non-existed waitlist" mentioned by management. This shop isn't accommodating - at all. Customer service is simply poor here & throughout the Charlotte metro area. All I did was call to request services & receive the most by a manager. Ma'am, you ask caused the shop to lose business due to management's poor disposition during the telephone call & to what appears a foreign mindless policy. I WILL NOT SUPPORT A BUSINESS WHO WiLL NOT REASONABLY ACCOMMODATE ITS CONSUMERS. Make rules which make sense. read more

There are so many great places you can go to get your nails done so first impressions and customer service is one of the main reason that would keep you coming back. Host was not very friendly nor transparent with how long we had to wait. We were told we had to wait 35-40 mins, which turned into 1 hour and 15 mins after we just decided to leave and go somewhere else. He kept saying "they're finishing up" and another 20 mins would go by. If he was transparent from the start we would've just went elsewhere. I'm assuming they were understaffed because there weren't many people getting serviced. We also called prior for appointments and another women came in and asked if they were taking appointments for the following day and the host told both of us "we don't take appointments on the weekends" -- with that being said, a man came in after an hour of us waiting and a nail tech came to grab him to service him. 3 different techs came to the front and 1/3 spoke to us. If your going to be a salon that just lets the tech work out of and take their own clients and not service the public BE TRANSPARENT. You wasted or time. read more

Super cool place. I was looking for a new nail salon and decided to give this place a try. My nail tech was Vincent and it did a really good job. The decor is really nice and modern and my experience was great. I did look at some of the previous reviews but my experience was different. I did notice a timer with the pedicure massages. Not the chair massage but the tech hand massage. That didn't really bother me though. The tech that did my toes showed me the timer and told me she was gonna be giving me a 4min massage. Came in early Wednesday morning, they weren't that busy which was great, I got the deluxe pedicure and a full set. The last few times I came I hated my full sets which were done by the older lady who's in the first bar last chair, she's so sweet so I felt bad telling her. On Wednesday when I came in I let the girl in front know and asked if I could try someone else she said sure but if I minded the lady doing my pedicure, I said no since she's never done my pedicure so I'll give her a try.
