I've tried almost every other salon in town, always to be deeply disappointed (to put it kindly). I was driving past today and noticed that this spot was new and came in on a whim. Y'all. Hands down the BEST manicure I've ever had, anywhere. Tonya isn't just insanely talented but she is meticulous, gentle, thoughtful, and to top it off, an absolute delight of a person! Do I want to hang out with her and be best friends? Yes. Will I be flying down from NYC for bi-weekly manicures with her? I wish!!! Next up, I had a pedicure with Sam, who was also beyond lovely!! Her attention to detail, outstanding! She was also incredibly gentle and took her time to ensure my toes were perfect. I'm truly blown away by the talent here. The location of the nail lounge is in the Wells Fargo building beside the Childress Klein YMCA. I went after work and was seen immediately. I just wanted gel polish because I didn't need a manicure. The lady that did my nails was so friendly, helped me choose and color and did an excellent job on my nails. They're 3 fingers that have some color missing on the sides so that's why my ratings a 3-star. I scheduled my appt for 5 pm and they were on time and ready to go. Unfortunately, they were clearly in a rush to close by 6 pm. They ran through my services. To go faster, they even peeled off my gel instead of taking it off with polish remover. The massage for my pedicure lasted all about 10 seconds. Then at the end, I was charged $70 for a pedicure with no add-ons and $70 for dip nails. Wayyy too expensive for sub-par service. Great place in uptown. I actually had a layover in Charlotte so I came here to get my nails done, have lunch and drinks and then head back to the airport. Like other users, I heard about mention of wine, so as a traveller I hoped to find it. When I asked for a glass of water my manicurists asked if I would also like a glass of wine, to which I quickly acquiesced. I gave a nice tip! I just had a basic $12 manicure, but it was perfect, quick, and the attendants were friendly to just the right degree. They repaired a chip I made when I put my hands in the drying device, which I really appreciated! I would happily go back there when in Charlotte again - it was clear most of the clients were working nearby and repeat customers as they knew many by name. Giving it four stars for the end result alone! I genuinely loved the nail art that Q did on me. I had shown her a picture of something I got off the net, and she not only replicated it, but made it better! That being said, we were four girls coming in after work. Unfortunately, it's impossible to leave without the work being done, and a few of us didn't come on time (15-20 minutes late). The girls who ended up doing the initial manicure (buffing / initial coat etc) and pedicure were robotic and did everything with little flair or enthusiasm. First time here, as a gift. I came in with 4-week-old SNS nails that needed to be removed, then gel polish. Some of the SNS was already loose at the base, and grown out about 1/8". To prepare, I filed off the SNS topcoat the night before. Instead of soaking them off, the girl taking care of me inserted an artificial nail under the loose SNS part and peeled them off. I never had that done before, I only had SNS nails 3 other times at another salon. Removals at the other salon were soaked off with acetone under foil, then filed/soaked the rest of the way off. My nails were damaged in the process of peeling off the SNS. Layers of nail were lifted with the removal of the old SNS layer. It left my nails uneven and peeling where the SNS was still on pretty good. Even after attempting to smooth my nails, they were still uneven and damaged. The gel polish, after three coats, is a little uneven and a little bumpy because of the damaged nail surface underneath. But not horrible. Covers and protects the damage. Everyone else I know who has been here has had wonderful results! I think my experience is a fluke, or maybe my nails are just bad and shouldn't have peeled like that and how could they know? The damaged part of my nails will grow out in a few months. I don't think the girl who peeled the SNS nails should have done that, especially since they weren't the ones who put them on. Maybe their own SNS technique allows that and she didn't know I had them done somewhere else. Or maybe they aren't allowed to have acetone vapors in the building. Their prices are good, the place is posh, the staff is great, everyone I know raves, and it is convenient to my workplace. I may go back, but will get a consultation and probably stick with gel polish. The take-away of this? Ask about SNS nail removal process before having it done, talk to them about your nails! No one knows them like you. read more

Fantastic place! Great, friendly, efficient service. I had a gathering & lunch for 12 clients at noon and then another for 12 at 3pm. They serviced everyone as if they were the only people in there! I set up lunch and hor d'oeuvres in one of the rooms, and they made sure 'our' guests always had a beverage and a fab manicure & pedicure. I plan on using them again during the holidays. I'm from out of town and had a rare afternoon free. Nails were horrible so I decided on getting mani pedi. First, I've never heard of "SNS" so was told it was the same as Nexgen. No. Not so much. It's a gel, so we will see how long it lasts. Next, the color I picked out was almost a pearl white- it turned out quite light pink instead. Finally, the pedi was "ok" and the co-workers spent more time joking around and kidding with each other than spending it taking care of customers. I have been here probably 7-8 times over the course of 3 years and I finally feel the need to review. Like others have said, unless you are a regular you feel like an interruption. I stood at the door for a good 5 minutes until anybody acknowledged me. Then I was rushed through a gel manicure which cost me $30 before tip. The girl doing my nails didn't even paint down to the bed, meaning that my nails already look 1-2 cm grown out. She also missed some of the sides. I paid for a manicure but all I got aside from polish was some heated pads for my hands and a little bit of cuticle care. This place is fine if you are in a rush or need a quick polish but if you're looking for quality I have trouble recommending, especially since it isn't cheap. I wish this salon was better because it's extremely convenient for me but I just can't bring myself to return given the inconsistent quality and poor customer service. read more

ONE OF THE WORST NAIL SALON EXPERIENCES OF MY LIFE. Everyone who has been here and has had a bad experience, please share; you are doing the public a service by letting people know. Calling ahead: I called two days ahead to make a gel manicure and pedicure appointment. They told me it was going to be around 50 for both. I was actually charged 65 dollars and I don't know why. Gel manicure: I must have said that I wanted a GEL manicure five times. 4 different people asked me. In addition, one person told me to pick a color so I did. A few mins later, another person told me "you want gel and you still picked a color from the shelf?" Turns out I was fine as another person told me "oh I have that color you picked in gel." Appointment: I had a 6:30pm appt. It makes sense this is the last slot because they close at 7... It DOES NOT make sense that you would rush your customers through their manicure and pedicure as you pack your bags to leave for the day. This does not give you any excuse to be rude. I get it, you have a labor intensive job and I appreciate all the work you do for my manicure and pedicure. However if I pay you 65 bucks for my fingers and toes, I expect you to be nice. Quality of the job: For my pedicure, I got a standard treatment (but gel). However, two days later I look at my gel and a couple of my toenails have no color. WHAT KIND OF JOB IS THIS? I don't even expect a regular nail polish to chip in 2 days let along extra pay for gel. For the manicure, everything is so far intact but she didn't massage at all or clean my nails well. I can tell she was hurrying and just gave me a minimal service. The lady who did my manicures was horrible, which brings me to my next point. Attitude: I have never experienced such poor attitude at a nail salon. Again, I get that you are working and probably tired at the end of the day. However it gives you no right to be rude and just plain unpleasant. I was actually terrified of these two girls that did my nails. I felt bullied. The woman who did my manicure was rude and rough with her hands. She of course, didn't make small talk. Sometimes she rolled her eyes if I asked her a question. She yelled at me to relax my hands to make her painting easy. When I relaxed, she said " WELL DON'T PLAY DEAD." Lady, you don't have to be so rude. Anther example, they put this gel machine on my legs and asked me to lift my feet so that they can access my feet better. I was slow in movement because I wanted to not mess up my toe nails. She thought I was struggling cause it was heavy. So the lady who painted my nails said "you need to go to the gym more." These are all not joking comments. They said these comments rudely with no smile. So the only thing I can do is smile. Paying: PERHAPS they know I won't tip them that much ( which is not true, I gave them a decent tip since I think working in a nail salon is hard work) because they were treating me horribly so they forced me to pay before they even started painting my nails. I asked them if I can pay tip at the end when the service has ended and they just rolled their eyes again. I believe this is my right. How can I fairly tip you for your service when you haven't even started your service? It wouldn't be fair to any one else or any nail salon in America. Conclusion: I respect any person working in a nail salon. I think it's hard work. But I also believe in treating people especially your customers, with respect. I won't be coming back here ever again in my life. And I hope everyone else won't too. They are horrible people who are pretty dumb for treating customers that poorly.
