At 9 pm, a calm, spacious spot humming along and very prompt and efficient service was definitely welcome! The menu for vegetarians is sparse and simple. Choices for us were veggie pizza and eggplant parmigiana in entrees, and spanakopita in appetizers. Spanakopita came strongly recommended and did not disappoint. Mom's recipe that is made on the premises, it was clutch with a glass of Cabernet Savignon! A small veggie pizza was enough for two after half of the spanakopita. Food reminded me of our trip to Italy: a couple times when we stopped at small mom and pop run spots in Florence and Venice! Definitely can be done again!!! read more

While the Spanakopita was amazing, the desserts made my meal truly exceptional. The Baklava Cheesecake combined my two favorite desserts in a wonderful way and was so light and flavorful! I had never had spanakopita prior to this and it was delicious!! The pizza was soooooo delicious. My god I'm kinda upset that I won't be having this back home since I'm here visiting. Stopped into Kouzina and went with the classic gyro--definitely the right choice. The balance of flavors was impressive; so many places tend to go heavy on the sauce or red onion, but this one was spot-on. The meat was overflowing (in the best possible way), to the point where it was almost hard to handle--but honestly, that's exactly how a great gyro should be.
