I LOVE this whole dental office. My husband and I originally found Dr. Maali searching for a dentist who used low toxic materials/BPA-free fillings in the greater Orlando area. Once we met Dr. Maali and more of the staff, we couldn't imagine going anywhere else. I have loved both of my regular hygienists and all of the support staff for the filling I needed. At one point a tooth was bothering me and Dr. Maali was so generous in helping adjust my mouth guards, trying a Rx toothpaste, and then replacing the problematic filling. He and his staff really went above and beyond. I'm so grateful to be cared for by this team & can't recommend them enough. read more

No stars! I had radiation and chemo in the past and was desperately seeking helping with my teeth. My doctor referred me here and I went in for an exam. Where everyone was super nice at first. I explained my situation and was told by the dentist they don't usually work with dentist but were willing to do it for my specific situation. They stated the would use a third party to bill it to Medicare. For almost 8 months it was a pain of calls back and forth between this dental office, my personal doctor and Medicare. Where the dentist would continuously tell me Medicare declined my procedure. When in fact the dentist never even sent the procedure in from the beginning. I waited months thinking I was waiting on Medicare to cover this procedure when in reality it was the dentist office the entire time. They would completely gas light me and have me explain the complete situation every time I called the dentist office. I called in and literally said my name and insurance and they hung up on me. All of this because they no longer wanted to do the procedure and work with my insurance. Even though they told me to my face that they would, they didn't even have the common decency to just be transparent and not waste my time. Especially when they know I am currently battling brain cancer. They deserve no stars and truly hope no one ever goes to this dental office, they do not care about their patients and simply only care about money. read more

I had a toothache, so I went through reviews here and because of that I made an appointment with Sand Lake Dental. They were very welcoming and I felt it was a good choice. I had some terrible painful experiences when I was young, so I don't see a dentist until I absolutely have to. Not a good thing, I know. I also know I was grumpy because of the pain. My apologies to the entire office for that. It was determined the best option was to pull it. Dr. Eden and Hilda were very kind and considerate, not to mention patient. Lots of hand holding. I did not feel any of the shots, which I appreciate. But more importantly, I didn't feel any pain during the extraction! Needless to say I was in very good, expert gentle hands. I highly recommend this dental practice, especially if you are like me with a past experience that was not positive. This experience is positive, though! And Angel is exactly that...an Angel. A toothache made me need a dentist. i work nearby and decided to make a same day appointment. Not only was I impressed with the service from my greeting and check in to the service received by the dental assistant Lu. Lu made me feel so comfortable and at ease. She is so sweet and kind and gentle. My xrays were a breeze. She was with me while Dr. D attended me. She is also such a great dentist. When you have a childhood dentist, that's all you've known so why fix it if it's not broke? Well unfortunately wasn't happy with my last few visits that were quite painful. Long story short was referred out to an Endodontics and they couldn't squeeze me in for a build up and was atleast a week out and I needed to do it before going out of town since two root canals on each side would of been difficult to eat. So the search begun for a new dentist and in today's day and age great reviews are a dime a dozen! Read through many reviews and called upon the most genuine "seeming" ones. Called around noon so figured lunch time left a detailed message and sure enough Cindy called me back. What amazed me was she referred back to the message ( usually no one does this and you have to RE-explain everything!) better yet she was able to squeeze me in next day and verified my insurance. So at this point they had a leg up, but I'm a still tough critic... So one of my favorite characteristics is transparency. From the front office to Dr. Maali they were very thorough with all explanations. And you feel a genuine sense that they look out for your well being as well! Peggy explains the billing and works with you, since I had a ton of dental work this year she was able to anticipate my limit and gave me a few options. Summary: Highly experienced, knowledgeable customer-oriented staff. Definitely give them a try, especially on a dental emergency. MY ISSUE: Dental emergency, broken Front right tooth at the gum line occurring over Thanksgiving. I wasn't going home for 3 weeks. Needed a temporary cosmetic fix ASAP to enjoy my remaining time. ADMINISTRATIVE: Full marks.!! I was thrilled I could book online quickly. Somehow I got a Monday first thing after Thanksgiving appointment. I had only been getting voicemail at other dentists. The office has implemented modern systems to help with reminders, rescheduling, and notifications. You can fill out forms in advance of arrival, including uploading images. Since dental emergencies can make it difficult to communicate, this is wonderful! Also, the images help staff be prepared. Very little time wasted here. PAYMENT: I was out of pocket, but they do take dental insurance and also provide payment plans. That's something you should talk to them about. I personally care a lot about quality. For the speed and the quality of the dental work, I was happy with the pricing. WAIT TIME: Even on the extremely Monday after Thanksgiving, I did not wait more than 10 minutes. Staff monitors and follows up if they feel the wait has started to linger. On my second visit, the lab was delayed in bringing the work back when I arrived. The front desk told me right away the reason for the delay and that they had already followed up and planned on continuing to follow-up. They run such a tight ship. SUPPORT STAFF: I was really impressed with how knowledgable everyone was, but even more with trained people are on the emotional side of dental emergencies. At no point was I upsold. Options costs and the positive or negative were clear. No question is too stupid. Having a traumatic tooth breakage can create brain fog. But they were kind and were happy to speak slowly and repeat. Also, I noticed with some seniors who were having senior moments on everything from understanding the next steps to finding insurance cards were treated with respect. Dental Hygienist. Skyler was very young, but highly skilled. She took great impressions that did have me choking on my phlegm (which oft/usually happens). The work that came back was excellent. She took great care in matching the color of the temporary tooth that I will be wearing for some time. I think she's got quite a career ahead of her. Dr. Maali: I had an endless sea of questions and concerns.He was super knowledgable and reviewed everything and all of my concerns. The Monday after thanksgiving is exceptionally busy. I do a lot of social media, so I'm pretty vain about this. He let me know what would be common & what might take a specialist, and how to think about the nature of the procedures and timing. This was despite that he might not be the one making $ off the procedure given I was a visitor. He was patient and caring in having the "real talk" about what likely should be done immediately, versus what can take time to consider the cost/procedure preference/impact to the way I look. There was no sales pressure. You get the impression that this practice truly understands that running a dental business isn't about volume and upselling, but about having all your patients walk out with great teeth. Patients of a cosmetic dentist are - after all - a living breathing billboard of a professional's work. Ultimately, I decided on get a temporary tooth (Front Right), which looks great for now. I'm going to do the many further procedures back in my home state. They have no problem mailing, emailing, or providing you a disc of the xrays. I had pain in my teeth so I called to make an appointment. The phone was answered within a reasonable amount of time and and the receptionist on the phone was very friendly and polite and genuinely helpful. She gave me an appointment quickly and I I came in to get x-rays and an evaluation of my dental condition. The office was bright, clean and had modern equipment and I was treated very well by the dental assistant as well as the main doctor, Dr. Mali. They were both very kind to me and I would definitely say I had a good experience. Dr. Mali was also very honest about my condition and even referred me to a specialist and prescribed medicine to help get me out of pain. My experience was good so I am planning to come back to get more work done after the first procedure is finished. read more

I had a cracked tooth around a filing: really a chip of enamel broken off. I recently moved to Florida and based on the reviews I decided to go to this dentist office. The office is really clean and people are really friendly. I saw Dr Duque who reported "the tooth has a filling and a cavity inside the filling and will need to have the filling replaced and a crown put on top of the tooth". It will be $1800 to do the dental work. Well, I respectively declined and traveled back to Maryland to see my dentist. She said there is no cavity, the filling is fine and all we need to do is drill the jagged edge and all is fine. The xray is 100 % normal. Well, I was shocked that the dentist in Florida will sell her soul to make money. The money was her only interest. Not the patient, lied to the patient and suggested dental work that was unnecessary. Shame on you. I would not recommend under any circumstances to go to this dentist. read more
