Currently living in Smyrna, Ga but why did I come out here to get my emissions checked when there are plenty of places near my area to have it done? Well, simply because I work around LaGrange and the residence in this city do not have to get their emissions tested annually. So I had to find the closest city that does it and that would be Newnan. Which is about 30 min car ride from LaGrange. Getting there is pretty cool. You get to drive 3 Miles through a small town full of nice looking plantation homes and the shop is right there in downtown Newnan. The shop is a little stop and go mechanic shop that is dedicated to emissions test. Once I got there I was serviced almost immediately and finished within minutes. I didn't have to make an appointment just rolled right into the shop. I paid $20 for the service. This I'd consider average price. Overall experience- very good for their fast and cordial service.

My three-star rating is because I waited almost 1.5 hours to get my emissions checked here. That's by far the longest I've waited at any emissions place over the last ~25 years. I came here because the place I'd been going to in recent years was temporarily closed. I pulled up to the lot at 2:18pm on an ordinary Thursday. The time printed on my report was 3:39pm. When I pulled up, there were nine cars ahead of me. The cars were packed in and the tail end of my car (just a little bit) was sticking out onto Collier Rd. It wasn't clear where else go to because the Goodwill next door doesn't want Dekra customers in their lot. The guy in the SUV ahead of me got tired of waiting and left. A woman in an SUV behind me looked agitated and annoyed with the wait. If you come here, be prepared to wait. Hopefully, you'll get lucky like some of the other Yelpers here. This is a one-man shop. I was seen by the manager "Mr. Ben" Benjamin Floyd, who's mentioned in many of the reviews. I believe it's just him and one other inspector who works at this location. Mr. Ben is a personality. He's a talker and we hit it off immediately, joking around and shooting the breeze. I could tell he did the same with others ahead of me, because some of their faces lit up, as well as with others who left reviews (hence all the five-star ratings). He runs a tight ship and isn't afraid to put people in their place if they give him a hard time. He is trying to get cars through as fast as he can, but this location is very busy. This is a tiny place. I saw Mr. Ben had a deal where he'll do your emissions test ($25) and install two Rain-X wiper blades for $65. On-site is a porta-john and a quick hand carwash. I saw two small ladies working the carwash on the other side of the emissions testing structure. I've been using this place for years now…read more I like them #1 because they are the closest emissions check to my house and #2 conveniently located in the Acworth Walmart Supercenter parking lot also #3 they are quick, easy and polite. Just pull up to the "enter" side, if there is a line of cars, wait. When you're up they will wave you in and then give you hand signals to tell you where/when to stop the car. They will ask a few questions about the car, it's year and the odometer reading. Attach some equipment, take some readings, check your gas cap for leaks. Ask for payment - $25 and then your done. The results are sent automatically/electronically to the government and they immediately have your results. I really appreciate this shop being there and treating me well.

I just went for an emissions test. Large sign on door clearly says $20.00, cash/credit. I asked about the $18 test. Was told they keep trying to change it, someone else changes back.
