I'm an owner of a Chrysler vehicle and unfortunately I've experienced inconsistent and often poor service from the dealership auto service department and decided to find an auto shop that still believed in excellent service. After reading many reviews I decided to visit RPM and I have no regrets. An appointment is recommended and I usually call at least 2 weeks in advance because it's a popular small business. Recently I visited for an oil change and my car was ready in 28 minutes. I could instantly tell the difference in how my vehicle was driving. I was also informed that my vehicle looked good and only concern may be rear breaks and they would look at it during the next oil change. The oil change sticker was placed on my window so I have a reminder on when to visit next. I've been here twice now thanks to the recommendation of a friend. I'm happy with the service. It's just over $90 for the oil change (includes 6k mile oil + filter + labor. Brought my vehicle in for a check of an issue. 2 guys at the front. No one acknowledged nor asked if they could help. I had to ask---"Can you help me or...? before this dude just gave a half nod and shrug and then 'mumbled' something. I advised him of my issue and he seemed non-enthusiastic nor non-caring to even look at it. He pulled my vehicle to the bay door, had it out in UNDER 30 seconds and "claimed" what it needed. I then asked for a quote for parts and labor from the other dude sitting at the front with the orange beard who had me standing there for 20 minutes pretty much wasting time and seemed to have no 'real quote' to give me for parts and labor. It was a simple question that needed a simple answer. What is the price for parts and labor for the issue YOU just told me would cure the problem ? He just sat there and stared at me and answered none of my questions. Guess we were just going to play ring around the stupid... Asked 3 times for the price of parts and labor after THEY advised me that my mounts were broken. Never got an answer. Mainly, because they were not being truthful and KNEW what they stated would not resolve the issue and were too lazy to find the REAL ROOT CAUSE of the issue. Because of all this 'going around in un-necessary circles' nonsense, I just decided to go someplace else and give other facilities a chance to get my money. This whole experience just left me with seriously bad vibes. Update - A different trusted mechanic that I was referred to by a close friend verified and SHOWED me that all my mounts were just fine even though RPM said they were all broken and even fixed the sound that I was hearing which was a simple 15 second fix. I was charged absolutely nothing for the diagnosis nor the fix of the issue and my mechanic saved me $500 that RPM was trying to steal from me which wasn't even the issue. Easy. No drama, no roundabout nonsense, no avoidance of my question-just straightforward information that I needed to make an informed decision and saved myself some money. Don't trust RPM. After this experience---only my SECOND time here, they have PROVEN --to me-- that they can't be trusted. Avoid this place or just spend your money on incorrect diagnosis leaving here with less money in your pocket and the same issue. If you have money to throw around like that at this place, go right ahead. as for me ----no thanks, I'll pass. As far as the business response --All they had to do is let me know that I needed an appointment to get a price quote. All he did was sit there and NOT SAY ANYTHING. What ---were we supposed to communicate via mental telepathy ? They need to have their guys SPEAK AND TALK and let the customers KNOW this. You can't EXPLAIN anything if you don't TALK, which is exactly what happened here. SITTING and STARING is NOT EXPLAINING. Try again. In addition, making an appointment for a price quote is nothing that a shop ever makes you do. You want a price for parts and labor, they get the year, make and model of your car--part needed, the time that it will take them to do the work and generate the quote. An appointment for a price quote is laughable and has no logic behind it. In addition, this shop was a ghost town at the time I arrived and ZERO customers in the shop. RPM took my car in VOLUNTARILY. I never INSISTED on getting in front of other customers that had appointments, because there was NO ONE in the shop to begin with at the time and, in fact, the 2 guys in the front were just sitting doing nothing about to fall asleep with cars in the bay waiting to be serviced. Back to the REAL CONCERN HERE - which is this - The ISSUE WITH MY VEHICLE is what this shop LIED about. If they lie about this, they'll lie about other things. I needed HONESTY and TRANSPARENCY from an auto repair shop and these guys didn't provide that. They've PROVEN that they can't be trusted and if I had not done my OWN research to check behind their incorrect diagnosis, I probably would have paid trusting what they said--- just out of money and the issue still present. They need only to blame themselves for BEING GREEDY AND DISHONEST. They're bitter because they found out that I'm not as un-intelligent as they 'thought' I was. and yes, They charged me NOTHING, EXPLAINED NOTHING, did NOTHING, and their 30 second check at the door of the bay showed them NOTHING wrong, YET they tried to fabricate a non-existent issue with my car based on NOTHING. They charged nothing because they generated NO results. That would make sense. They're not going to be 'praised' for no charge. They did 0, so they SHOULD charge 0. Glad I found a better, more trusted mechanic that knows how to do their job and diagnose CORRECTLY also. Thanks for the well wishes. They are honest and will really work on your car to find out what the issue may be. They are fair with prices and will not say something needs fixing if it doesn't. Because I said something to them about 2 different vehicles having seemingly unrelated issues within 1 week of having minor work completed, they don't want to put a $300 part on that they had me order. I have taken my Kia Forte to two other auto shops in Douglasville and one told me that they were not able to fix it while the other "fixed" it for an absurd amount of money and I continued to have the issue even after pickup. Today, I took my car to RPM and they were able to diagnose it within 10 minutes and fix it same day for less than a fraction of what I was charged previously. The last time I visited was April 2017. My AC stopped cooling. Waited for the diagnostic results. The "consultant" at the front desk printed the quote for the repair it was $1,300. It read that my vehicle needed a new AC system, and the compressor was bad. The owner was conveniently not around, as I had been dealing with him since 2014. I was shocked. Told the guy I would think about it. Next day used Yelp to find other repair shops that fixed AC as I wanted a 2nd opinion. Went to a garage on N. Cobb Pkway. Waited for the result. Turned out the compressor was "good" and just needed a new valve, as the coolant had leaked out. Total cost with labor, $110. So, after that, I never went back to RPM. They lost a good customer by trying to extort and be dishonest. P. S. 2 years later AC works great! read more

Called and set up an appointment for a service on my Audi A7. I have had trouble finding anyone other than the dealership to take it to. I was able to set a same day appointment and they got me right in on arrival. Brett was great. Very knowledgeable. Great place to take your car if you want special attention and care. My BMW M5 was making brake noise which is common due to racing rotors and brake pads. I stopped in and asked the owner what could he do if anything? He checked out the car and we found out it had a recall for the issue. Upon calling the dealer they said it's normal in the M series because of the hardware that is put on the car. They told me silicone is on those cars brake pads that stops this but once it goes away probably from washing it and spraying the nozzle into the caliber and rotor they normally make noise. Well anyways i asked RPM could they redo my calipers and pads with silicone and get everything greased up for me? The answer was no problem im happy to say i drove home that day without a squeak. I would definitely recommend RPM for all your automotive needs. This place is 5 stars. And for all M drivers go see him for any issues with that pesty brake noise we all hate. read more

Extremely overpriced. Had them change a serpentine belt on a 04 f250 and they charged me $340. Said it was 2 hours of labor. O'Reilly's carries the belt and it's 35 bucks and I went back home and took the belt off and put it back on and it only took me 20 minutes. I was just trying to save some time and drop it off at an honest shop but instead they just saw an easy way to make $340. read more

I stopped in for a routine oil changed, but when I left he had my 15 year old car with more than 300,000 miles driving like a newer vehicle! I would definitely recommend RPM Auto Specialist as a reliable, reasonable car repair company! Larry and Kevin work together as a team to get the job done literally! Took my rx8 here for an engine replacement, was quoted 6900, then after receiving a quote for the exact same thing(Mazda reman engine installed by a Mazda master tech) from a VERY reputable Mazda shop in chamblee for 5100 decided to go there. When I told Larry he immediately dropped the price to 5400, but I still took the car elsewhere, when I went to pay Kevin said the diagnostic cost had gone up and said they had already started to pull the engine, I disputed and they decided not to charge me. He immediately started the car and brought it around front and said they had only removed covers(which I had already removed before taking there and the car was sitting outside and not in a bay), also Larry had told me when I first called that they had not done any work other than diagnostic, I'm very knowledgable and ocd about my car, and it was obvious nothing had been done when I popped my hood. When I gave them my card to pay for the diagnostic Kevin took my card in the back for at least 5 minutes before swiping, and 2 weeks later $953.18 was deducted from my account from a racetrac atm and publix in this area, and PIN was used as well as a physical card(my card was in my possession at the time of withdrawal), these guys are scammers and thieves and very dishonest, they had also taken my financing agreement out of my glove box and did not tell me, I had to ask for it back, they also tried to keep my warranty agreement, Larry gave me no trouble but Kevin gave me difficulty and when I kept pressing for it he started slamming drawers and getting angry when I asked for it back. read more

On September 7th 2017, I had a serious incident involving Kevin, the manager of the store on Canton Road in Marietta. I had left a message to get a brake job, leaving my car info. Before he called back I had already made an appt at noon with someone else. Kevin called me back and after coercing from me what I was quoted from Nick, he said he would do it for $199 "out the door". I canceled my appt and went to see him. After looking at my car, he said I would need 1. All 4-disc brakes, with pads, 2. An expensive oil change (he said the oil was black even though I had put brand new oil in it the day before) 3. Brake flush This totaled to approx. $ 1130.00! I said I was expecting to pay half that for all that work. Kevin then took me to see the van and had me run my fingernail over the back-disc brakes and feel the grooves. I couldn't feel a thing, but I accepted that he knew what he was talking about! He said they couldn't be turned. We went back to the front area and told me he could bring the price down to $953.66 if I pay cash. He directed me to the female bookkeeper (didn't get her name) to pay. After realizing I would have to transfer money to my checking acct and it would take a day or two, I asked the bookkeeper to see how much it would be to use my credit card. She went to the garage and asked Kevin who quoted $ 1200.00 - even more than the original quote of $1130.00! 1.51% plus $0.10 is the current Visa interchange fee for a swiped consumer credit card. The fee is $14.40. He got me questioning him when he came down on the price. I knew then that he was overcharging me and the doubts starting setting in. But when he said I would be paying $246.34 for putting it on my credit card, I was DEEPLY insulted. He thought of me as a VERY stupid woman. At that point, all credibility was lost and told them I would not do the job. Kevin, then called me to the counter and said, "Tell me Ms. Debra talk to me and tell me what the problem is". This is putting the customer on the spot. I needed to leave without any more interaction from this con artist. I knew I was being lied to and he knew I knew. I made up a story, called the mechanic I original had an appt with - 1 1/2 hours late. Nick looked at my car, said I only needed front brakes after all - and he could turn them. With a high mileage oil change, brake flush and new pads with resurfaced rotors, the price came to $289.55 - a difference of $910.45 ($1200 with card) and $664.11 difference paying cash! Kevin needs to be reprimanded for this and/or fired. This man lied about what my car needed, tried to get me to agree to pay $246.34 in credit card fees, lied about the rotors on the back - that they needed to be replaced vs. turned and then tried once more to pressure me into accepting his false estimate. Unbelievable! Never in my life have I ever seen such a blatant outright deception. This guy, I wish should lose his job. The owners must love him - he's bringing in a lost of $ by way of deception. I don't know much about cars. So I'm always very apprehensive when it comes to finding a good mechanic. I'm always expecting the worst; that someone will take advantage of my ignorance. I got in the habit of doing extensive research and price comparisons when it came to vehicle repair. I was well pleased when I found Larry and the crew at RPM. The first thing that brought me in was brakes back in 2015. I figured that this was something I could get a feel for doing my comparisons since even "I" knew what was wrong. I didn't have a lot of money at the time, but desperately needed my brakes fixed as we only have one car. I was pleasantly surprised to find RPM had the lowest price. It was still too much for me to pay at that time though.....I was REALLY broke. Larry was kind enough to replace the pads first, which wound up costing only a fraction of the brake job (and made my car safe enough to continue to drive my family in) while buying me some to get my funds together. Larry noticed how concerned I was about my car's safety, and did a full inspection free of charge. There wasn't much work to be done, but what he did find he prioritized for me and broke it down into things that were urgent, things that could wait, and things that were merely cosmetic in nature. When I first went there I literally lived right down the street. I have since moved to Woodstock. I STILL GO THERE. I believe that even if I lived in another state, I WOULD STILL GO HERE. I have yet to meet a mechanic with the level of customer service, customer care, speed, reliability and professionalism that I have found at RPM. They have truly gained a customer for LIFE! read more
