KP's Kitchen has some amazing food and delicious wine. I would never have gone here on my own. However, some friends recommended it after leaving a wine bar. Boy, am I glad they did. There were about 12 of us, but the service was top notch. We had 2-3 servers for our one table and they were all very attentive. The ambiance is quaint and casual. Nothing too fancy. I have visited this restaurant several times once with a good friend and twice with my grandchild. I read the children's menu and the grandchildren picks grilled cheese sandwiches both times. The sandwiches are served with chips, but not just any chips these chips are made on the premises. I usually order the veggie hamburger with french fries. I order it with a side of mayo. Yum yum! The sandwich is normal size but I take 1/2 of the sandwich home for lunch the next day. This restaurant is a place where you can have a conversation listen and be heard. Every waitstaff or the person who clears your table is giving their attention to you. They even have a wine list, outside dinning and cloth napkins. Really love this local spot. Came here for the first time and took my dad here for a Father's Day brunch. Service was excellent and the food was delicious! I got the crab cake and egg Benedict, my hubby got the breakfast plate, and my dad got the chicken. We got cauliflower as a side instead of the Parmesan spinach. I discovered this restaurant on Yelp as I was looking for fine dining in West Houston with Covid-safe patio seating for my Senior Mom and friends. There's lots to like about this place... good food, friendly service, reasonable prices, and only $5 corkage if you being your own wine. We ate a lot (cos my Mom always sees lots on the menu she likes and orders more than we can eat)... * Spinach Artichoke Dip with house made Chips -- A nice dip with fresh bits of artichoke and spinach. Not overly rich and creamy like most other places. Almost like a warm tapenade. House made kennebec potato chips were fresh and crispy. * Gulf Crab Cakes -- Actually, just one good sized cake. Rather pricey for a single cake, but it was a hit. Good flavor, lots of fresh chunky (claw) meat and none of that extra stuffing. The mustard adds a nice kick to the crab cake and bed of coleslaw. [Personally, I'd change the menu to say singular "cake" for better marketing accuracy] * Baby Back Ribs -- Very tender, fall off the bone ribs. Tasty, although some people might find it under salted (but I don't mind cos I prefer low salt cooking and table salt is easy to add to your personal taste). Truffle fries were a bit limp, but the owner was nice enough to promptly replace it with a fresh, crisp batch straight from the kitchen. * Steak Night Ribeye Special -- 16 oz ribeye with truffle fries, roasted Brussels and 2 side salads. Since we already had truffle fries with the ribs, they were nice enough to let us sub these fries with the Crispy Cauliflower Side. Steak was butterfly cut for one side medium and the other medium plus some we could get consensus on the temperature. Steak was tender and juicy. * Roasted Brussels -- Everyone at the table liked them. The caramel fish sauce was unusual and was a nice balance of tang and sweetness. * Crispy Cauliflower -- Not the most crispy I've had, but still a nice brown on the cauliflower and the brown butter, currants and almonds were a good preparation. * Grilled Red Snapper -- A nice mild white fish, not too dry and still flaky. Tasty grill. Served over perfectly prepared broccolini. * Apple Crumble -- Everyone at the table seemed to enjoy this. Good flavor. A bit strong on the nutmeg for my personal taste, plus I would prefer a bit more browning and crispness to the crumble on top. * Cheesecake -- Nanny's recipe was a hit. A lighter, European style cheesecake atop a graham cracker crust. Not overly sweet. * Key Lime Tart -- My favorite. Nice balance of sweet and tart with some bruleed meringue. Service was friendly and attentive (although they had the tendency to serve dishes forgetting we needed new flatware worthy each new course). The fries tasted like fried frozen fries. The burger was pretty small and wasn't impressive to me. The filet ($36) came with Brussel sprouts and she ordered a medium well. Houston Restaurant Week Review For $35, this is a phenomenal Restaurant Week choice. You will leave feeling so very full and happy. The ambiance of the restaurant is relaxing and the staff is attentive and helpful. We started off with complementary champagne which was really good!! For an appetizer, I ordered the Brussels sprouts and someone I was with ordered the candied shishito peppers. Both were a great appetizer with a good flavor. For the main entree, the baby back ribs are a must. Fall off the bone, flavorful, and incredibly juicy and tender. Also served with crispy fries and coleslaw that enhanced the meat! Dessert was kind of painful to eat because of how full I was, but I made room and it was soooo worth it. The cheesecake was to die for. The creaminess of the cheesecake and tartness of the berries was heavenly!!! The seasonal cobbler was good, especially with the ice cream, but the cheesecake was better. I think that KP's has a nice ambience but the food and drinks had a bit to be desired. First of all, the menu online says the Paloma is made with tequila and vodka. Well, they have neither, it is made with Sake per the waiter. Don't advertise spirits if you don't serve them. (I posted picture below that says vodka and tequila) Secondly, I specifically asked our waiter about the crab cake and if it was made with a bunch of filling and breading, or is it more like a Maryland crabcake. He said it's 5 ounces of pure crab meat with breading on the outside. That was completely inaccurate, it was much more filling than it was crab meat, and was not good at all. The crispy cauliflower was very good but I don't think for $15. I found this place to be a little pricey for a very basic menu and average food. read more

I had my first experience at KP Kitchen, and I was not disappointed! I went there for lunch to celebrate a birthday, and thought I'd try the Asian Salmon Salad. It's salads like these that make my January health kick bearable. It was a beautiful salad. The greens were bright and fresh, and the salad was dressed perfectly, the dressing full of flavor. The salmon was spot on; served medium rare/medium, with a crispy sear on the outside. I would have licked the plate if I weren't surrounded by office coworkers! The waiter surprised us with birthday desserts to share. (So much for that healthy salad, but totally worth every calorie.) The cheesecake was very good, served with a fresh cherry compote, but the deep-dish apple crumble a la mode, served in its own sizzling cast iron skillet that gave the crumble a lovely, crispy exterior, was over the top good. I'm not sure what kind of apples they used, but the flavor and texture were perfect, and elevated the dish even more. It brought me back to the fall with the flavors and aroma of cinnamon, apples, and brown sugar, but I know I'd be back year-round for a helping of that crumble! I couldn't help but eye all the amazing sandwiches and burgers being brought to the surrounding tables. Don't let some of the amateur photos of the food on Yelp deter you; these dishes looked amazing, and I have no doubt will not disappoint. And by the sounds of all the crunching going on at my table made by the house potato chips, I could tell they're worth a visit back just to try them. The waitstaff was friendly and tentative, and we had a nice visit with the owner who stopped by to make sure we were enjoying our meals. Great ambiance and a cool lunch time vibe. Looking forward to an evening visit soon. We'll definitely be back to try new items on the menu, and I can't wait to tell my friends about this place. Kids eat free on Tuesday with purchase of an adult meal. I'm not at all ashamed to say that's the only reason I chose to stop in for dinner with my two kids. It was my first visit and it looked a bit swankier than the burger joint that used to fill the space, but was very inviting. The staff quickly greeted us like family and showed us to an open booth. The Spinach and Artichoke dip is most delicious and the monsterous housemade potato chips go quite well with it. The kid's meals are larger portions than most restaurants, which is nice. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich with the slaw and potato chips. It didn't quite hit the level of a Popeye's Chicken Sandwich, which is the best, but the slaw on top added a nice crunch and flavor. Steak, seafood and a few vegetarian options were also on the menu. I placed an order for pick up on Tuesday around 7:00 PM. It was fairly easy and it was ready within 20 minutes. They sent a text message letting me know it was ready for pick up. Parking: they have plenty of parking and I had no trouble finding a spot. The restaurant is located on a strip in Town and Country so you should have no trouble finding a spot Inside restaurant: they have an inside and a really nice patio as well that is perfect for lunch or dinner. There are no TVs but the ambiance is very nice ! Great spot for a date night or dinner with friends. They have some neat art and I loved that the personality really shined through Food: I ordered the hot chicken sandwich and also had the spinach artichoke dip and they were both amazing!!! I am super picky when it comes to spinach artichoke dip so it's always a hit or miss for me but KPs nailed it. It was amazing! it comes with chips on the side as well. The dishes have very good portions. The dip is definitely a shareable. The hot sand which was amazing!!! I loved how the flavors really came together. 10/10!! Drinks: I did not get any drinks but they do offer BYOB and I believe you just pay 5 dollar for corkage fee. Anyways I will be back because they are supposed to have amazing wines and drinks soon!
