Met some friends here for happy hour because they over it on the weekends from 3-5:30 (gotta love it). This was my first time here and it was really nice. I was able to park my own car in the lot although I'm not sure how much parking would be available if the lot was really busy. It wasn't super busy this day so it worked for us. I started with a margarita and it wasn't don't favorite if I'm being honest. It was a little too tart/ sour for me. I then got the rose 75 which was much better! My friends ordered deviled eggs for the table which was pretty good with the hot honey sauce they provided. I also ordered the chargrilled oysters as they were $3 waxy (but you have to order at least 6 of them). They were really good as well! I would come back for them. It had a cheesy spinach fondue on it which made it good. They also offered $2 raw oysters as well but Indians try them. My friend ordered a cheeseburger with fries and so I had a bite of that which was cool. Overall I think this is a nice spot to grab lunch or dinner with friends. I heard they had some good fried chicken so I'll have to come back and try them out again soon.
Relish absolutely nailed it from start to finish. Let me start with the service--truly exceptional. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcomed, taken care of, and genuinely valued. Attentive without being overbearing... the kind of service that sets the tone for an unforgettable meal. We kicked things off with the hot crab dip, and WOW--rich, flavorful, and perfectly indulgent. It was one of those appetizers you keep thinking about long after the last bite. For our main course, we both ordered the chicken Caesar salad, and it did not disappoint. Fresh, crisp, perfectly seasoned, and topped with tender, flavorful chicken--it was simple done exceptionally well, which is harder than it sounds. And just when we thought it couldn't get better, we wrapped up the evening with cappuccinos that were nothing short of perfection. Smooth, rich, and the ideal ending to a flawless dining experience. Every detail--from the food to the atmosphere to the service--was spot on. Relish isn't just a meal, it's an experience. Already looking forward to the next visit!
First time at Relish and we had a great brunch experience. The food portions were generous, well-seasoned, and full of flavor. Our waiter, Bryan, was fun, outgoing, and helped make the experience even better. The drink happy hour specials were surprisingly good, especially for being in an upscale area and shopping center. Even with the higher-end location, the atmosphere felt welcoming and comfortable for everyone. Definitely a place I'd come back to.
Dandy and chic spot in the River Oaks area. Service was decent and quick for sit down service. Tried their seasonal burrata, which came with cheese, some arugula, bread slices, etc. fairly tasty when combined, 4/5. Their tuna tartare was a bit non traditional with the quinoa and dressing, 3/5. I tried their lobster roll (believe it was $32 despite pricing not stated on the menu). The fries were fairly okay, standard tasting fries but the lobster roll itself was toasted and buttery, with ample amounts of nicely seasoned lobster meat, 4/5. Some decent options but a fairly limited menu. I'm sure their sandwiches are similar in quality as well.
I have been here on multiple occasions and it has never disappointed. Relish is a delicious and unique restaurant with some of the best food in Houston. I always love bringing large groups of friends and family when we visit so that we can order as much as possible! Everything is fantastic, there's isn't a single dish I've ever had that disappointed. I would highly suggest visiting for a birthday because such a special occasion should be spent at an equally as special place. I would highly suggest their happy hour during the weekdays and always sit at the bar!
Finally made it in. Saturday night at 8:30, made reservations but don't think they were necessary because there were a few open tables still. Service was great. I've read a few reviews saying service was slow, but ours was on point. Have a few "dry" weeks so started off by ordering an Iced Tea. From there we got started with six of their east coast oysters, which were amazing and even come with some seasoned crackers. For entrees we both decided to get filets so we could share sides. Ordered medium rare, mine was perfect but my partner was definitely rare with a cold center. Unfortunately we sent it back to get cooked a tad more (something we try to avoid at all costs). The staff was accommodating to this request, took care of it quickly, and brought it back out cooked to a perfect medium rare. For sides we opted for the Parmesan cauliflower and Mac & Cheese. Both were great choices! Mac & cheese is salty, so if you're sensitive be mindful. The ambience is dark and relaxing, gives very Hampton's chic vibes. Excited to come back and enjoy the bar once this dry run is over and give some other items on the menu a shot.
Tonight saw four of us checking Relish out for dinner. The Parker House rolls as an appetizer, I don't recommend them. A slightly sour herb basting of the top (garlic? oregano?). And they came out warm but hardened up quickly. Probably they just microwaved them for a few seconds, my guess. Sour taste lingered. Skip them. My dining partners went for oysters, tuna tartare, carpaccio, and artichoke first courses. All good thumbs up from the group. Except the artichoke that was overcooked and meh. Our waitress, Jenny. And the general manager also. The level of attention. And the professionalism. Impressive. Put smiles on our faces. I will have to save the fried chicken or pasta entrees for another time. I went low key with just their cheeseburger. I wanted to sample the bread. And the fries. My dining partners went bigger, with steak frites, quail, clam linguine. The burger was fine. A big burger. Priced very fairly at $19 plus tax and tip. The fries were unremarkable. Very McDonald's like. When they cooled to room temp, well, I left them uneaten. I think that the Lamb Weston colossal crispy fry would be a good option for them to consider. Carrot cake was not memorable. I think they might enjoy trying this recipe to see if they like it more. Pecans seemed to be pulverized instead of being in larger pieces. Carrots seemed to be pureed instead of in shreds. Carrot Cake Recipe 2 medium carrots (8 ounces total, 230 g) peeled 2 large eggs 1 cup sugar (7 1/2 ounces, 210g) ¾ cup neutral vegetable oil (not canola)(180ml) 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 cup AP flour (5 ounces, 140g) 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 teaspoon baking soda ¼ teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/2 cup pecans (2 ounces, 55g) Grease and flour an 8 1/2 by 4 1/2 by 2 1/2 inch loaf pan. Preheat the oven to 325 F. Shred the carrots with the fine or medium shredding disc of a food processor. Set aside. Process the eggs, sugar, oil and vanilla with the metal blade until just blended, a few seconds. Evenly sprinkle the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and cinnamon over the mixture and process until smooth, about 5 seconds. Sprinkle with the pecan halves, add the carrots and process until the pecans and carrots are distributed evenly, about 4 seconds. Turn into the prepared pan and bake for 60 minutes.
Came for dinner with my mom and sister on a Friday evening. Private lot with valet if needed. Got there at 6:45 and still open tables for seating. By the time we left at 8pm, almost all tables were full. I would recommend reservations on the weekends. The general manager and waitress were both amazing. Other waiters also passed by to refill our drinks a few times. Rolls 10/10 Cajun hot dip with saltine crackers 8/10 Mediterranean meat balls 8/10 Copianno 8/10 (don't like clams/mussels) Herb roasted chicken 9/10 Watermelon Rita 10/10 Carrot cake 9/10 I loved that everything was made from scratch (except the bread). The ranch was delicious as well... you could tell it was homemade. My son ordered a kids meal and it was huge!! I would be full of that. I would def go back again when I am in the area. The place is ritzy, trendy, upscale, but also casual. Can't wait to try more menu items.
I am in love! I have been for brunch and had the lox plate and deviled eggs and happy hour and had the burger and both times the food, the vibe, the service was very good. I absolutely will be bringing folks when they visit here. I was impressed with my off menu non alcoholic cocktail too.
This was a random pick of places on my date night to go list. The ambiance of the restaurant is nice, sort of middle of the road classy. Prices aren't extremely crazy, got out with a $105 bill before tip for two. Drinks are good, food was good. I highly recommend the French fries the most of anything. Super tasty and crispy, and you get a ton. The Harissa chicken was a whole lot of food!! Was overall good but the inside of the chicken was pretty plain. The side that came with it were good as well. The carrot cake was DELISH!! Super moist, not too sweet, nuts were a great addition. My date ordered the Caesar with came minimally dressed and was a little dry. We just requested extra dressing and that fixed the issue. The rolls on the menu were also pretty good. Not Texas Roadhouse or anything but pretty solid. Overall, great date night spot if you have a little coin to spare on something more than a casual spot.

I ordered my cheese burger well done but it was medium well, so that was the only thing, I took the burger home and cooked it and it was still delicious. The Cajun dip was amazing! The crackers they served along with the dip tasted homemade, super fresh and very well seasoned without being salty. The Cesar was perfectly dressed, the croutons were perfectly crunchy anddd big enough lol! My lemon drop was the perfect balance of alcohol and flavor. Service: our waiter was knowledgeable, friendly and attentive without being too pushy or hovering. Ambiance: the restaurant is very pretty. I had high expectations for this restaurant. It gives date night/lunch with the girls vibes. The food was okay. We had the Cajun crab dip and turkey club sandwich. The 75 was really good. Our service was horrible! Megan was not attentive at all. She was constantly waiting on the surrounding tables and passing by us like we weren't even there. The manager, Michael, ended up taking our food and drink order. Plus, he brought the check and Togo boxes. My mom spoke with the manager and he assured us he would speak with Megan regarding her service. They have valet parking or you can self park. Probably would stop in for a drink but that's it's.
I really enjoyed the atmosphere and decor. The tables were all full but well spaced out so it never felt crowded. I LOVED my food, the pricing I felt was quite reasonable. We were a table of six in and out in barely over an hour. My only complaint is our server was just clearly not in a good mood. Happens to the best of us but it definitely stood out.
I work in the restaurant industry and have had a handful of guests rave to me about the Fried Chicken Deviled Eggs that Relish serves.. They were absolutely right! Extremely delicious little thangs! During Happy Hour, they're a dollar each with no minimum! Speaking of Happy Hour, all of the menu offerings are a must try!! 1/2 off cocktails, plenty of food options for under $20 and even a small selection of $8 wines! Justin, my server was great. Very conversational and attentive. Visiting friends in Houston. They wanted to take us here it's one of their favorites. They like sitting in the bar less noisy. We Made a reservation for a booth in the bar. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our server Les was efficient but seemed hurried. He gave some recommendations for cocktails and apps. The ladies had red wine and men old fashioned. We also had deviled eggs and smoked beef carpaccio. Both were delish. Ordered entrees my friends had Chopin which is a seafood soup, and the other had Steak Au Poivre. I had Chicken Paillard and hubby had Gulf Snapper Puttanesca We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Finished with a cup of coffee too full for desert. We highly recommend this place and look forward to returning on our next visit. read more

Lunch at Relish was exactly what I wanted simple, fresh, and executed really well. We started with the fried chicken deviled eggs and I'm not being dramatic when I say... I'm obsessed. Such a fun, elevated twist with the perfect balance of richness and crunch. I would go back for those alone. I ordered the chicken salad sandwich and it was perfectly done, nothing overly complicated, just really high-quality ingredients coming together in a way that hits. It felt light but still satisfying. On the side, I had the quinoa kale salad, which sounds basic, but it was anything but. Super flavorful with a great texture, one of those salads you keep going back for without even thinking about it. Overall, Relish nails that "elevated casual lunch" vibe. Everything felt thoughtful without trying too hard, and I'll definitely be back (mostly for those deviled eggs). read more

Went here with the wifey for an early birthday dinner, and boy was I excited to try this place. We came there early enough on a Monday night, ie 6:30 pm, to be able to find our own parking spot and not have to pay for valet parking. It's not a very big parking lot. So I saw on a tv show a drink that had vodka and grapefruit juice and really wanted to try one. I was very happy to find the drink "salty dog" on the menu that had these ingredients. It was very nice. It was refreshing and I felt like I was helping the environment drinking something that had a tree growing in the middle of it. I was told by a friend of mine that I had to try the lobster roll here. I'm a big fan of them since I grew up in New England and had them all the time growing up as a kid. Since I've started watching my weight I decided to go with the Brussels sprouts as my side instead of fries. Let's get to the star of the show. I kid you not, that lobster roll (or as we call it in New England "lobstah roll") was one of the best I have ever had in my life! If you enjoy a good lobster roll you have to try one from here, you won't regret it. Oh, the Brussels sprouts were pretty good too. Getting dessert here is lots of fun! I got a slice of carrot cake and paired it quite nicely with a caramel latte. It was the perfect ending to a great meal. Yes, that's right, they have their own expresso machine! Thank you Mr. Relish! Ok humm this spot is open but only serves drinks until 5:30, dinner menu is available after 5:30. Normally no biggie but we were killing time in Houston, prior to departing town so it was interesting twist. The food was wonderful once we got it. Service was meh, not bad but definitely not superior. It was a party of two, I would try again in a group setting. read more

Upscale ambiance, incredible food, and reasonable prices (especially for the area) - the perfect spot for a nice night out! I came by with a friend one evening, and we were seated pretty quickly per our reservation. Our server was extremely friendly and attentive and made sure our glasses were always filled with water! He also answered our questions and helped us choose our meals based on our preferences. I want to start by sharing my surprise at how quickly the food came out! As I hadn't tried seafood in Houston before, I decided to get the Linguine and Shrimp. Each bite had an explosion of flavor - buttery, hints of lemon, various spices, plus the addition of tomato. I couldn't believe how much I could taste despite not being a spicy dish! The portion size turned out to be much more than I expected as well, and I ended up having enough for another meal left over! Houston Date Night Idea Relish is a great date night spot, but could also be ideal for a business lunch or ladies brunch with its adorable patio and chic decor. We enjoyed the: - Spicy Paloma: Camarena Tequila, grapefruit, lime, Marfa Spirit Co. We always seem to find the best little gems while on our way to somewhere else, and see a place that's too inviting to pass up... this happened again with Relish! We got there at a perfect time, at happy hour right before dinner started. We had the deviled eggs and I usually am not a fan of fried chicken but these were awesome! Surprisingly light with tons of flavour. Two of us shared the mussel dish and shrimp linguini. Loved them both! The shrimp linguini was also very light and I was pleased at the portion size. So many pasta dishes are simply too much and I rarely order them because of it. This was perfect. The drinks were fabulous; refreshing and vibrant on a warm rainy day. Our waitress Jasmine was a doll and took great care of us, though others that dropped food off were very attentive too. All in all, another happy time spent at a surprise new gem! Food was phenomenal. Only thing that was a slight let down was the service. Butternut squash soup was something to dream about and panini was filling and crisp to perfection. We had a 5 top that was hidden during the lunch rush. Understandably, there was a delay to our server getting around to us etc. Overall, a great experience and will be back for sure. read more
Relish. Like relish in a hotdog or relish like relish the moment. Met a friend for Thursday dinner at 5:30 pm. It's a nice place and the staff were super friendly. My friend had been there before so she ordered the deviled eggs for an appetizer. It has a piece of fried chicken on top and wowza. Delicious. Friend ordered the chicken marsala a s I ordered their pappadelle with mushrooms and prosciutto. Friend shared a piece of her chicken and it was so tender, juicy and tasty. Yum. The pappadelle was perfectly cooked and went well with the mushrooms and prosciutto. I wanted more lol. Friend ordered the carrot cake. For the record, carrot is my kryptonite but she insisted I try a piece. And it wasn't bad at all. She said it was really good. (She is a carrot cake oficianado). The environment was nice and the staff were super friendly and pleasant. They were also patient. This is our 1x a month chat session and they didn't try to rush us out. Be careful of the parking tho. It looks like it shares a partial lot with Chuy's and there are writings on the lot that tell you which spots are for Chuy's. (hard to say at night tho) Def plan on returning. They have a brunch menu for the weekends too. And a full bar. They seem to be a wine spot. read more

Wow, I was so happy this restaurant is near an appointment I had. I've had it bookmarked for a few months and finally had the opportunity to try it, and wish I didn't wait so long. At a high level, breezy and lighthearted interior, every dish we had was delicious- plenty of healthy options but if you want something heartier they had plenty of options too. I got the Grilled artichoke as a starter since it reminded us of one we had in napa valley years ago, and it lived up to the description. It was absolutely phenomenal, loved the charred lemon heartiness of it! We also got the bruschetta, which was a ricotta, zucchini and eggplant with some sort of tomato sauce and pine nuts. The blend on top of that decadent bread was something I could eat straight with a spoon. Apparently the bruschetta changes (daily? Seasonally?) either way - I'd advise you ask what is on it if you come because it was probably my favorite part of the meal. Lastly my wife and I shared an apple salad with grilled chicken - they had plenty of protein options but we wanted to add something to make the meal a bit more filling. The salad was absolutely fantastic, lots of acidity and sweetness that was captivating and refreshing! After that delicious meal we tried their carrot cake which was so moist, rich and delicious. We could only get through about half of that slice but brought it home and it was just as good the next day. I couldn't tell if it was caramel or honey drizzled on top (or maybe a mix?) but that drizzle spoke to my soul :) Everything we had here was fantastic, the waitress gave plenty of recommendations, it was lively on a weekday lunch with plenty of other patrons, and I am definitely keeping this place on my bookmarks of favorite places! read more
Truly a classic, can't go wrong menu. Relish is a nice spot, nestled in the corner of a strip mall off of Kirby and Westheimer. I loved the ambiance, very clean and simple but cozy and comfortable. It was quiet when we got there just after 5 but filled up by the time we finished. Their happy hour deal for house cocktails is pretty good: 1/2 off! Rosé spritz was delicious, light, and summery. We couldn't resist the crab dip, and it was fantastic, just wish it wasn't $20 ouch. Chicken sandwich and steak frites were good, nothing to write home about but good. I didn't feel like the flavors lived up to the dollar signs but it's still a nice place for any type of outing. I also wish I got a shot of the carrot cake but trust me, that's what you want. read more
Popped in here for brunch and it did not disappoint! Very clean, open, and inviting. Service was spot on - not too fussy, but checked in often enough to ensure water and drinks were filled. The cinnamon roll was amazing and big enough for the three of us to easily share. The Smoked Salmon was also incredibly fresh and enjoyable. The crispiness of the toast held up beautifully with the soft salmon and whipped cream. I wouldn't hesitate to get it again. Hope to make it back for happy hour or dinner sometime soon. read more

I made a reservation online for 3 outside patio; and when I got to the restaurant, they told me that they couldn't reserve spaces on the patio. The hostess was extremely rude and it was very upsetting since we had planned this lunch spot and reserved a space online. After five minutes of having a disagreement, they happen to find a table in the corner on the side patio, which was the only table available. It's not the main patio... I would have given the restaurant a five star if I had a more pleasant experience with the hostess and seating that I had reserved online and drove over 30 minutes to be at this restaurant with my girlfriends. OK, so about the food. The tomato soup was really good but the soup stains your face. If you are doing a business meeting or on a date, I definitely would not order soup because it will stain your face and lips. The watermelon salad I was so excited about, but they barely had any feta in it Or watermelon; it was like you were just eating arugula. The burger was decent. And the fries were good. read more
We only had appetizers. We will have to come again and I'll update how the entrees are. Deviled Eggs- Sooooooo good. I mean I have never had anything like it. The horseradish with the fried chicken that was seasoned and fried perfectly, went well together. Cajun Crab Dip- Also seasoned well. I thought it was going to be salty especially with the crackers, but the cooks that night did a good job. I love the spin on the saltine crackers. Cotija corn- Just ok. Could definitely use more Cotija but I also feel I am so used to Elote, it was missing something. I got the mayo and it made it much better. But it was ridiculous to charge me $1 for that mayo. But I chose not to let this effect my review. Fried Okra- We were very disappointed. Personally, I love pickled Okra. Honestly, this was why I wanted to come here. It was just not good. It didn't have that pickling flavor we were expecting. read more
Came here for a last minute girls brunch on a Sunday! Didn't realize they close at 3 and we showed up around 1:30-2. The staff still gave good service even when we were the last patrons left. Must haves- the devil eggs! The fried chicken on top really is what makes this appetizer... So good that we ordered three rounds of them! (One set per person hahahah) Chicken and waffles are pretty good as well. As far as brunch cocktails- they don't do carafes but the option of getting a bottle of sparkling wine and juices is available... and worth it. If you're in the area and looking for a place to brunch over the weekend... stop by Relish! read more
