I told you I would give it another try, and I did!! Monica provided excellent service as my waitress. I specifically, wanted the Ceviche based on a menu posted on Yelp. I found out that it was no longer on the menu. My initial waiter, told me to order the Campeche and I found that it is vastly different from Ceviche. Ceviche is lighter and has a citrus base. The Campeche is ketchup based, sweeter and thicker. Monica was kind as I requested to take it off, as it was just not what I expected, but if you do like the consistency then I would recommend it. I opted for the slider, OMG, their bread was sweet and soft and the burger was flavorful. I also, chose the Martini and Margarita...both were really good. All Happy Hour items! The martini was so smooth it tasted like water....dangerous! I appreciate Ben, for making the adjustment to my bill. I will definitely return to try more items!

By 14 oz. NY Strip Steak Lunch $35 on Thursdays

Return visit which was very pleasant. Special thanks to Marissa who has a proactive solutions after a faulty experience with my leftovers from the previous day. Which was a 1-2 star rating from service, but the Denver roast dish was 1 out of 10 highly recommend! Today Sam L and Monica were excellent! I definitely appreciate the flow of communication. Monica informed me of Thursday specials. Every Thursday is steak night! 12oz NY strip for $35! Served with potatoes and asparagus. Flavor was very pleasant. I didn't like the shoulder cap of fat. I opt for the Denver dish again. Which forever is grand slamming. Only flaw besides some fat was that the kitchen was a little stingy with the mash potatoes tonight. Not enough to really accommodate the extra love of sauce and roast. -5 Which last night was flawless, the mash potatoes were my favorite, it just really ticked me off that the waitress threw trash in my plate when I was boxing to take it home. She didn't even bother to ask if she could pick it up. (I was aware they were closed, I was departing, and the table of the 4 loud mouths were completed and still were there to disturbed the peace with loud laughs and talking. ) As a first impression it wasn't the best, but the solution was acceptable and pleasing, for me to return and explore the menu and special day's deals like Monday's burger days and Thursday steak specials. -2 The bottom of the bowl didn't feel clean on both days, which is very off setting to a lady who only eats from her own personal silverware/flatware.

We went for Valentine's Day and had an 8:00pm reservation. We were sat right away and greeted within 2 min of seating. Service was impeccable and taking care of us tonight was Olesia. She was very attentive and courses were served in an appropriate timing, that on a holiday was unusual and noticed. They did not rush you in and out just to fill the tables. We started off with the Crab Cakes. Very nicely done and premium ingredients. Entrees includes Denver Pot Roast and the Redfish Pico. Both were excellent choices. The redfish was a smidge overcooked for my husband's taste but accompanied by the garlic mashed potatoes it balanced out. The Pot Roast was 10/10. Believe me we had leftovers to enjoy for another meal. Then she asked about dessert and brought the menu. After several minutes of deliberation we opted for the Strawberry Cream Cake-but TO GO. To say the portion sizes were large is the truth. They also in our take home bag included 2 complimentary Chocolate Dipped Strawberries since it was Valentine's Day. Overall, it was a great experience and we enjoyed the ambiance very much. They had it decorated for the special day and it was a very welcoming atmosphere by all the staff.

Service was prompt and professional. Pricey but not disappointing. The Chile shrimp was delicious. I took advantage of the $25 lunch special. The bar tender and server/cook were so nice I'd go back just to visit, honestly. I enjoyed the professional environment as well as the food.

Food was so good! My husband and I have gone for a date night and we have also been with family. My husband likes the burger.

Our Ladies Dine Out club really enjoyed our evening at Jonathan's the Rub! Our waiter was very attentive even to our large group. My food was delicious! I got a wedge salad to start and asked for an extra side of blue cheese dressing; that's the way to do it! I sampled the maple glazed carrots and onion rings from others. The onion rings were huge!! Very good and crunchy. My filet was cooked to perfection! I wanted to order the tiramisu but they were out so I chose the coconut cream pie instead and was very happy! This would definitely be the perfect place for a date night or any celebratory dinner. I'd love to try out their lunch menu as well. I'll be back for sure!

I've been to this location as well as the Memorial location for Mother's Day/Father's Day brunch, lunch and dinner. The Memorial location is bigger and more modern, but the service and food at both are great. This time I went for lunch. They have a $25 lunch special where you get a starter and an entree. I think it's a great value for what you get. The servers are always attentive and personable. The bruschetta is amazing and the best I've ever had! This time I had the jalapeño fish with mashed potatoes. Both were delicious and full of flavor! The watermelon & cucumber salad is typically delicious and refreshing, but this time it was just ok. This is a must visit place! This location is more "homey" and the Memorial location is a lot more modern with natural lighting and more decor.

Took a quick video-game break and stopped by Jonathan the rub for a full meal, and it was outstanding. The flavors were rich and memorable--definitely something I'll be coming back to chase again. The bar area was very clean, and the bartender was extremely helpful in guiding me to the right drinks. Great customer service and a really satisfying experience overall. Highly recommend!

Updating in response to Sam...Yes, the 2nd sweet chili shrimp was ordered because it replaced the ceviche we sent back. My review is addressing the waitress not so much you. I didn't even mentioned how she was to apply a $50 gift card to each bill but instead she applied the $50 without actually deducting it from the bill. My mom had to bring it to her attention. We dine out at least 4-5x per week so we shouldn't have to ask for small things to be done to make our night special nor or we looking for anything free. All we ask for is great food and customer service. Honestly, you seem very remorseful and I will update my star based on that. A group of eight visited for my mom's birthday, but our experience was disappointing. My nephew found a blonde/brown hair in his pasta and while the manager offered to remake it seems like there was attitude from the waitress after that. The house bread bread and garlic bread are okay. The sweet chili shrimp were pretty good. The mac and cheese was dry plus lacking seasoning. We actually ask for a side of fettuccine sauce to put on the mac-n-cheese. The chicken fettuccine lacked seasoning as well. The Caesar salad was really good. After paying, we had to ask about birthday desserts, which the waitress confirmed were available--something she should've offered. Sitting by the kitchen was uncomfortable as there was always 2-3 girls standing there staring while speaking Spanish. After awhile it was awkward and we felt like we didn't have any privacy. Overall, the food and service were less than mediocre, and we do not plan to return.

First time here and went for lunch with friends. We were all very pleased with our meal choices. They even have a 2 course lunch menu for $25 and a full selection to choose from. Portions are fair and the food was good. Our server was also very good! kudos

Went for lunch and was pleased with their generous portions and excellent service. We got the blue burger and the blackened shrimp tacos. Both came with a side of fries and were pretty standard dishes. (6/10) The shrimp tacos were exactly what I wanted for a light but filling meal. The staff is attentive and there pertly of parking on the side and in front of the restaurant.

TikTok made me do it and give this place a try, we came at 3 and it was pretty empty we were skeptical to try it but gave it a shot. We decided on the 48$ deal where it comes with starter, entree and dessert. The sweet chili shrimp were so good I ordered 4 more, they were so crispy and smothered in sauce and the shrimp were not the typical small shrimp these were huge definitely an appetizer you need to try. As entree I got the steak and honestly I was expecting a small steak but was surprised how big it was, it was well done but I had asked for medium well I still ate it, the mashed potatoes were ok needed more flavor to it and salt. For the dessert I got the tres leches and ya'll it was sweet and creamy very delicious I loved it. Overall the food was great, the service was great they kept coming up to us asking us how we were doing, I will be coming back for date nights with my hubby.

Hi Georgia! The Original Jonathan's The Rub still is and always will be BYOB. There is a $20 corkage fee. Grab something from your collection and we'll help you pair a delicious meal with it.…

Service was amazing-- we loved our waiter who was a combination of polite, funny, and knowledgeable, and everyone gave us a smile. All the dishes were beautifully presented and flavorful but definitely on the heavier side. - Beet salad (5/5)-- wow, never had a beet salad like this one before! So much flavor with a tanginess from vinegar sweetened by the blueberries and beets. The beets didn't taste very earthy (aka like dirt) compared to most beet salad. This was really well executed :) - Caesar salad (3.5/5)-- Credence's spin on Caesar, which according to my Caesar salad pro diner, didn't really taste like Caesar salad. Also very tangy and tart but the pro still enjoyed it as a salad dish. - Roasted cabbage (4/5)-- big fan of the way they roasted this, perfect tenderness without being cabbage mush! Definitely a heavy dish, especially for a vegetable option, as it was swimming in a butter cream sauce that started to congeal as it cooled off. Would choose this more as an indulgent appetizer rather than a healthy veggie option. I wonder if one could ask for the sauce on the side... - Tuna tostada (3.5/5)-- if you like strong flavors, this one packs a punch. The gochujang aioli beneath the tuna is really concentrated, making it difficult to taste the actual tuna. There's a bit of heat but thankfully I wouldn't say it was spicy. Fun to try. The tostada itself was very dense and almost a bit bread-y versus a crispy chip texture. - Crab fried rice (4/5)-- comes with lobster foam that is mixed table side and a generous amount of crabmeat lumps. The rice actually had a nice texture without being too... grainy / individualized, but it was too salty for me. - Akaushi Wagyu beef (4.5/5)-- loved the texture which was tender but with some chew (was expecting more of a melt-in-the-mouth texture though) and the veggies that it came with. It was heavily salted, too much so for me. Would've been perfect with less salt since there's already a chimichurri sauce with it. - Peanut butter tart (4.5/5)-- peanut butter lovers rejoice! The chocolate filling was rich, thick, and sweet which was complemented nicely with the whipped cream (not sweet at all). The peanut flavor really shined. The crust didn't have much of a taste by itself and was sandy in texture, not sure if on purpose or over-baked and dried out. Either way, the tart looked impressive when it arrived and was delectable-- my favorite bite of the night! Overall a nice experience! Although there was a mess up and the rest of our two salads and crab rice wasn't packed with our other food to take home; I was pretty sad about that since it was quite a bit of food (and $$). I might return for that peanut butter tart, but everything else was too heavy and too salty for me. I'm personally not a huge butter fan, but if you are, definitely make a reservation for a special occasion or date!

Lots of TVs to watch the Olympic Games while you wait for dinner. I liked watching the open pizza oven. They make a lot of pizzas here. The Eat, Drink, HTX menus are a great way to try new restaurants while giving back to the Houston Food Bank. A starter, an entree and a dessert. $25 for dinner. So many choices on this menu. A great deal while helping out those in need. "Started" with the Turkey Samosas. Four crispy pastries that are filled with seasoned ground turkey, potatoes and parsley served with cucumber yogurt. Delicious! The Ember & Greens Soup that my family had was hot, hot, hot and so tasty. The fresh soup was filled with a blend of spinach, parsley, and cilantro with chickpeas, caramelized onions, pinto beans and quinoa. My FIL polished off his bowl! For dinner, we all had the Blackened Salmon. The salmon with lemon butter and avocado salsa served on roasted carrots, broccoli and potatoes and a bed of quinoa. It was a full plate, which we all took home for dinner the next day. Note: it is quite buttery. My FIL had his butter and avocado salsa on the side which worked for him. I loved mine as is. Even though we were pretty full, we still enjoyed dessert. The tiramisu was so indulgent. Loved the layered mascarpone custard, whipped cream, coffee liqueur and coffee-soaked ladyfingers. My FLI had the Chia Seed Pudding with fresh berries. What a great meal. We had a slight hiccup where the appetizers came slightly after the main meal was served, but they were so honest about what happened that I still have to give them five stars for their food and their service. Would try them again for their generous, delicious meals. Lots of parking. Water glasses were frequently filled both with and without meals. It was a beautiful day, so it would have been the perfect day to eat outside if you like that. I'm an eat indoors kind of person, but if you like to eat outside, they do have a few tables for that. I was meeting a friend for lunch and she suggested Ember & Green. We really couldn't decide what to order, so we decided to order a few things and share them. We started off with the Persian Cucumber Sald. It had Persian cucumbers, heirloom cherry tomatoes, red onions, and Kalamata olives with oil and lemon dressing and topped with parsley and feta cheese. Let me tell you, thats lemon dressing was delicious! It went so well with the cucumbers. Next we ordered Blackened salmon with lemon butter and avocado salsa, served with charred broccolini, roasted carrots and potatoes on a bed of cilantro green pea quinoa. I'm really not a huge fan of salmon, but I'm trying to like it more by trying it different ways. The spices that they put on the salmon were really good, not too spicy, but also, not bland. It was also cooked perfectly. Oh, and that lemon butter... that lemon butter made the meal if you ask me. It was so good. So good in fact, I had to try and make salmon with lemon butter at him the very next week. Mine didn't come out as good as Ember & Greens, but it was decent. That just means that I need to leave the cooking to the professional. For dessert we decided to share the Skillet Cookie. Its a house made chocolate chip cookie baked in a cast iron skillet and topped with Amy's Mexican Vanilla Ice Cream and chocolate sauce. This was the only thing that we ordered that was a nope. I dont know what happened, but it didn't seem like it was cooked at all in the middle. We took a few bites, that was all we could eat of it. All and all, it was a good experience and I will go back. I'll just skip dessert next time.

I also asked for a matcha with strawberry puree & no foam to meet my dietary needs. It was delicious! The person I was with had no the smoked salmon avocado toast and what I recall to be the amazon cloud. She rated them both 10/10 with no hesitation. Very flavorful and refreshing. Overall this experience was 10/10 for both of us. It's a not so small coffee shop with diverse options, friendly staff, and a clean ambiance that makes me want to go back. Highly recommend.

The last time I was here, a server took our order. However, this time, after waiting for a looooong time at our table, I discovered that all ordering should be done at the counter. I like how open and spacious the place is but the booth seats were in poor condition, with extreme cracks and peeling pleather. Also, many of the tablets were dirty and I had to get up and ask for napkins to clean up the stains. Help was very limited during this visit. The baristas were engrossed in making drinks and didn't seem very friendly or eager to help with questions. On the bright side, the young gal who brought out our food and drinks was really nice and helpful. She even offered to spray down our table and wipe it clean for us after she saw how icky it was. There's a Pick 3 toasts for $24.95 option and we chose two smoked salmon toasts and one avocado toast. They were decently good. It was a nice light meal to share between two of us. However, the quality of the drinks has declined. The strawberry matcha used to be excellent but the flavor has lost its vibrancy. I would not order it again.

Drinks were great from the martini paired caviar to the Barolo and pork chop. Cacio e Pepe and pizza/flat bread were good. Everything was excellent. Bread service was good. Whatever the butter spread(?) was on the board - Wow! Service was on point for a Sunday dinner. Our server - AJ was great, even though slammed with an 8-top, us and a few more 4-tops. We will be back and ask for AJ again.

At your own risk, I guess. Food was overall average- went with seafood options which were well cooked but nothing to write home about. The grouper has too many sweet elements which I was concerned about when ordering- would have liked some savoury bite in there. Also was disappointed they didn't pack up my leftovers (got lost in communication I guess). The crab cake entree- to me the reads appetizer, which is what we did. But honestly one of the best crab cakes I've had. Sturdy breading but so much flavour and balanced well with the veg/salad it sits on. The 7 layer chocolate cake was perfectly balanced dessert as well. Not too sweet and loved the crispy/crunchy bits.
