Tried the brisket enchiladas recently. Wow!! Where have they been all my life?!? What a treat!! Went back a week later yo gave them again. I have a very hard time ordering anything other than the crab cake. So glad I did! Yummy!!! Oh and our group of 9 brought several bottles of wine. Corkage is sooooo reasonable. Service was great. Very refreshing to find a good restaurant. I love trying new things and I hate not knowing what I might get. Here at KP's it was very positive. It is cute inside, many people were eating a huge salad. I had already looked on Yelp to decipher what I was interested in. I got the crab cake, my friend got the spinach artichoke dip (those artichokes were huge chunks), hot chicken sandwich (not very hot), and the husband got the burger. They refilled the water several times, they checked on us during the meal several times. I was confused on who the waiter was because there were 4 people who talked to us (the hostess (maybe), the person who refilled our water bottle (for the table), the person who delivered the food, the person who gave us the the check (which I don't believe is the same person who took our order). I thought my plate was tasty, but I had some reservations, which puts me on the fence to going back. In general I found their pricing on the high side. I had the ribeye migas for brunch and I really don't think the steak was ribeye....it was a lower end cut or it was so overcooked I couldn't tell it was ribeye. $22. I was disappointed on the upcharge to getting my elderly parent a kids plate just because they are an adult. I understand the policy and they don't want families to abuse ordering a kids plate, but they also don't offer a senior option. My mom couldn't even finish what she had. Makes it difficult to want to go back there even though her senior living facility is close by and convenient, which is why we decided to try it in the first place.... read more

We visited KP's Kitchen on a Saturday night after seeing it repeatedly posted on IG. The restaurant is conveniently located near Memorial City mall, but not in the chaos. The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating. Happily, we were able to sit inside at one of the communal tables. Everything was very clean and aesthetically pleasing. We did not have a reservation, but our party of two was seated quickly. The staff is extremely friendly, personable, and does a great job of engaging with customers with relevant small talk. We went with two of the recommendations, one to try a must have drink and a must have appetizer. We enjoyed the following: - Sour Cherry Lemon Drop - Virgin Mojito - Spinach artichoke dip with house chips - Gulf crab cakes - Roasted brussel sprouts - Italian Meatballs - KP'S wicked wings: buffalo with ranch dressing - Pecan-apple crumble with the ice cream on the side We had a fantastic experience at KP's kitchen. We were attending an event nearby and made a reservation for eight people last Saturday night as we were wanting to go someplace close by. The restaurant is very clean, a little smaller than some, but intimate & quiet so we could talk and interact. The staff was very friendly. The food was delicious and KP himself took care of us most of the time we were there, not rushing us to finish up as it was a special night for the group of people we were with. OK this review is really gonna be based on service more than food. Servers were very attentive and kind. This place is casual dining. It's a little dark inside. And I saw families eating. The space is small if you have a large party definitely make a reservation. We decided to order the Ribeye special, which is a Ribeye for two it came with salad,, fries, and asparagus. I was really excited about having the steak because I had been craving meat for a couple of days.. We started with a house salad and a Caesar salad. We also had an order of wings. The wings were delicious. We got the hot honey on the side and so we were able to administer the sauce as much as we wanted. I also enjoyed the House salad. It was simple like spring mix with tomato and carrots and the vinaigrette. Prime Rib or Rib Eye is usually my preference because there is a lot of marbling in the meat and so that it makes it nice and juicy and then I usually get it cooked medium rare. This time since I was sharing with someone we decided to go medium, which should have a pink center. I'm not really sure what happened in the back of the kitchen I am not even 100% sure of the cut of meat of meat but when the steak came out, it looked good, but it ate like an overcooked New York strip... overdone and it was extremely chewy. I mean I had a hard time eating it and when the staff came over and asked us how things were we were very honest and so then they asked us. How can we make it right would you like something else? Would you like us to bring another? I didn't want waste the meat or waste another cut of meat. I was kind of a little skeptical about getting another Steak so they offered us some meatballs and brought those out. I think it was really nice to recognize that we were dissatisfied and try to make it right so for that I give props for the service and they're willing to listen and try to make our experience better by offering us something else. read more

The food was good - very good! The menu mentions a few drinks that they make, and from that one might infer they had a full bar. One would be wrong. It's not that they should be expected to have a full bar, but when I asked if they could make an Old Fashioned, the waiter acted a bit abrupt, as if I were being presumptuous to ask about a drink that wasn't on their menu. If you're going to advertise that you have specific drinks containing liquor, but those specific drinks are all you can make, that fact should be on the menu or at least explained in a less curt fashion. I'd be willing to try this place again, but I'm not planning any trips there at the moment. read more

Maybe dinner atmosphere is different, they're on Resy which usually implies better quality overall. Came here for Saturday brunch and it was pretty quiet. Open parking lot out front. Outdoor patio seating also available and well covered from outside distractions. Ordered the breakfast plate, quiche of day (small portion) and their signature burger. -Breakfast plate is pretty standard fare, nothing special to point out. -Quiche (they offered vegetarian or meat version), opted for meat which had bacon. Didn't taste as fresh as I'd expected, but the side salad was needed to balance out the saltiness. Thought it was wonderful they offered a smaller vs regular option. -Burger: pretty hefty and definitely will satisfy hunger. Not sure if it's THE best burger though. Would probably try other brunch options if you're looking for more variety, but this is a good place to spend a quiet morning/afternoon. Oh, the ladies bathroom is also nice and clean (always a good sign). They have a plate of small sized perfumes to 'freshen up'. read more

What drew me here was a few months ago, I saw a few social media influencers post about this place. What really caught my attention was that KP's makes a burger similar to what's arguably the best burger around, the famous burger from Au Cheval in Chicago. I dream about that burger. I would catch a flight just for that burger. I finally made it here to try it out with my dining companion who has also had the burger from Chicago. KP's is located near City Centre in a shopping strip. Parking is plentiful. Service was good. We started off the Spinach Artichoke dip. The dip itself was excellent. I wasn't a big fan of the house made chips. I would much rather have some sort of bread or even tortilla chips as the potato chips kept breaking. The burgers came out and they looked promising. Tried the fries first and they were very good. Crispy and seasoned to perfection. The burger looked similar, not exactly eye popping like it's counterpart. Upon first bite we both were pleased. The meat was seasoned well, the bun was nice and soft, the bacon was thickish cute but could've been a little more crisp. What threw it off for both of us was the dijonnaise. It would be so much better with mayo or even a garlic aioli. Again, a very solid burger, but I would hold off on their sauce and ask for a substitute. I got a Mexican Coke to wash it down since it was a pretty rich meal. I would probably come back if I'm in the area. read more

I came here for restaurant week and was very happy with what we payed for. For 35 dollars, I was stuffed with extremely good tasting food. They even offered complementary champagne!! I've never had roasted candied peppers but wow were they amazing tasting! It was the perfect starting dish, very light. The baby back ribs followed and came right off the bone. The flavor was on point and some of my favorite ribs I've had. For the a restaurant week, value is definitely 5 stars. For normal price, I'd say more of a 4 to 4.5! read more

I had lunch here about a week and a half ago. The restaurant was busy but I didn't have to wait for a table. Parking space in front was plentiful. Inside the booths have clear plastic dividers between them for sanitation purposes. There are individual tables too. After being seated and having a carafe of water brought to the table, I chose the hot chicken sandwich with cole slaw and chips for $14. I asked the waiter if it was possible to substitute the side (house chips) for something else and he recommended the french fries which are also homemade so I said yes. Less than 15 minutes later the food arrived. I dug into the large pile of fries first and decided they were very good in taste. Being hot and salty, I enjoyed them. I wish more restaurants took the trouble to make their own fries and not cop out to the frozen in a bag variety. The brioche bun had a large piece of fried bird on it with the cole slaw and also was very good and flavorful. It was a hearty sandwich. This meal made me happy along with very good table service. My only negative was upon seeing the bill and noticing that my french fries cost an extra dollar for the swap out of the chips. It's not about the money but the principle that if something requested by the customer is going to cost more, it should be disclosed by the waiter at the time of ordering which in my case was not. KPs is everything I thought it would be. From the quick service to the homemade dishes, I enjoyed my lunch here, but I don't think I will be back. To start off before I go to any restaurant I always make sure to check the menu to choose what I want. Here I found it difficult to find something that popped off the page since the items were very standard and there weren't a whole lot of items to choose from. The food was pretty average to be completely honest, and truffle fries were disappointing (comparing them to hopdoddy). I also think that the prices were too high with the quality of food they were serving. My salad was pretty good, but only came with a small sliver of salmon and a whole lot of greens. The desserts were all pretty average. The reason I say I probably wont be coming back is because I don't see anything else on the menu that I want to try, since I'm a pretty adventurous eater. The staff was friendly and put together. The place was clean. Decorations were cute, and the noise level was normal. The food also came out pretty fast. Overall, although I did have an enjoyable lunch here this is simply not a place that stood out to me in any way. read more

We really enjoyed our brunch at KP's Kitchen. Service was very nice, and food was delicious! My friend and I split the french toast and crabcake eggs benedict, and both were wonderful and gave us a nice sweet-and-savory brunch. I'd highly recommend both dishes, and I'd definitely order them both again. And bonus--they gave us a kid's meal for free, which is a promo I didn't know they were running. But this pork chop was enormous and amazing and made me very happy. It was well seasoned and the flavors were great. My husband and I have been here 3 times. The first time, we had the short rib and it was delicious! The second time we had a fish dish and it was delicious. Now on to the third time: I ordered a burger and my husband ordered the prime rib special. My husband said that the prime rib was tough and it was "just ok". For a $48 dish, we'd expect it to be outstanding, but it wasn't! My burger had 2 meat patties, which was more than I expected and it was very juicy. However, I felt like I was give a large version of a kids burger. There were NO vegetables! The burger is meat cheese, bacon and bun. I should have read the menu carefully, but what upscale place serves plain burgers without the customer requesting it? The burger came with fries that weren't anything special- they were limp and not crispy. The service was great- the wait staff was very attentive. The restaurant is nice. It's very simple but nicely decorated and the atmosphere is somewhat quiet. It's so discouraging that restaurants can't be consistently good. If you choose to try this place, I'd advise going on a Friday or Saturday so that you'll have a better chance of getting the better cook.
