Great food! Excellent service. Free parking. We love to be welcomed and appreciated. KP's Kitchen always delivers!

We just felt lucky to find a place that had availability on a late Sunday morning... Turns out that breakfast here was amazing! This place obviously is full service and full menu, and that they have a good selection of wines and all of the food looks very interesting be it breakfast, lunch, or dinner. But we found the breakfast to be very tasty very well-made, with crispy, meaty, bacon, and perfectly made eggs. The homemade biscuits were fantastic! My son had the chicken and biscuit plate with a hot honey that he absolutely loved. Great place!

You know? I've been a fan and champion of Kerry Pauley and his KP's Kitchen, like, forever. It's one of those places where I could order anything on the menu and be happy. He has two locations now and I typically go to the Katy Freeway one. I love to cook at home and really haven't gotten used to dining out, when not checking out some new international restaurant. When I go out, my default is cuisine from another country. But over the years, when not trying something amazingly Asian along Bellaire Blvd., I / we have defaulted to KP's 'cause we know we'll leave with smiles on our faces. Kerry does a lot of good things for the community. He is a good guy. And he is very creative, coming up with one off weekly specials that are always tempting.

I've tried to come here several times, so I'm glad I finally made it. We started with the fried artichokes which were absolutely delightful. Meaty artichokes with a rich Dijon sauce: 10/10. I went with the crab Benedict. The first round rendered overly poached eggs and a cold plate. The staff was quick to resolve the issue and the brought a new order up quickly. Other remarks from the party: the cherry vanilla lemonade didn't work as the flavors competed and none won out. The hot chicken biscuit was excellent. The quiche was "okay". The music was at the right volume so we were able to carry on a conversation without competing with the noise.

KP's Kitchen has been on my list for a while now. One of my friend's lives nearby and says it's one of his favorite places. I went with my coworkers, and everyone enjoyed their food. We ordered truffle deviled eggs, which were served with homemade chips. It was good but kind of pricy at $17. Our server was "fabulous" and did a great job. The portions were huge for the sandwiches and looked amazing. I ordered the grilled salmon plate and the veggies were delicious, especially the carrots. We shared 3 different desserts but all agreed that it wasn't as good as the entrees. It's a cute cozy neighborhood spot and perfect if you are looking for a farm to table like American dining experience. They offer a pretty good happy hour menu too.

Chicken tender platter and the crispy cauliflower

My friend chose this place for her birthday and we both really liked it. We both ordered the buttermilk fried chicken platter and it was really good, we also ordered a side of crispy cauliflower and that was pretty tasty. Iced tea was delicious and side note, the honey mustard was top notch. My friend does not like ranch dressing and she really liked theirs. We plan on going back. Cute restaurant and customer service was amazing, very friendly and helpful.

Why 4 stars? Because everything we tried was perfectly enjoyable. --- --- --- Every time I've gone to the Houston Improv, I've been tempted to grab dinner at KP's, as it's only a few minutes down the road and I've had it bookmarked forever. While normally I lean on Jando S to take me somewhere much more exotic, he said he was in the mood for some good ol murican food. Score one for the non-practicing Ashkenazis. I would label mostly everything we ordered to be fit right into the 4-star range: solidly good - nothing mind blowing, but nothing disappointing. The two exceptions would be: the prosciutto, burrata and melon - it had quite a nice explosion of flavors. 5-stars. My least favorite was the strawberry shortcake, as it was a bit dry, and would not be something I'd need to order again. 2.5-stars. I don't even really like deviled eggs, but I enjoyed a couple bites of the truffled deviled eggs. 4-stars. The spinach artichoke dip and the burger were both the "OK hand sign" emoji. You'd never be mad about eating these on a regular basis. And the truffle fries were not too truffley, which I enjoyed because sometimes the truffle can be a bit overwhelming. The service was also excellent - we never went more than a few minutes without someone checking on us. I'll be rooting for KP's, as these seem to be some nice people who are trying to do the really hard thing of operating a small business!

Food here was fantastic! Wanted to try something new and this place did not disappoint. Comfort food at its finest. Eggs cooked to perfection and the biscuits are delicious The seasoned potatoes were so good and the portions are generous. The service was excellent with a friendly staff in the owners were on site and they were awesome. The decor was really nice. Made you feel welcome and it was open with great lighting. This place is a Must try

I had the pleasure of visiting KP's when it first opened back in 2021 at the Town & Country Village location. I loved the cozy, welcoming vibe and solid food--it quickly became a local favorite. Since then, they've moved to a new spot right of Katy Freeway, and I recently got the chance to check out the updated location. I'm happy to say it's just as good--if not better! The service is still top-notch: warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. You can tell they care about their customers and take pride in what they do. As for the food, it's hard to pick a favorite. I would order everything again. The burger, hot chicken sandwich, brussels sprouts, crabcake and cauliflower are all some of my favorite things.

Came to KP's for their happy hour and their voting sticker special! Until November 5th they will give you a free appetizer with your voter sticker! We chose the spinach dip which is always amazing and uniquely served with house made potato chips! I ordered the KP burger and fries from their happy hour menu and absolutely enjoyed it! Great ambiance and super quick service! This is also not my first time at KPs often frequent for a work lunch or quick stop in, always good bites and service

First time here. The food is great. Everything is scratch made, and full of care and flavor. The crispy cauliflower is an absolute must. The roast chicken is marinated overnight and it shows! Moist and tender. The Cobb salad was fantastic. The Friday night crew provided great, friendly, and prompt service. The decor is eclectic and fun, with large windows, high ceilings, and interesting artwork on the walls. Local restaurant (not corporate), AND they are charitable to the community, so I am happy to support them. Add free, self parking to the mix, and it was a wonderful evening. Not very far from IKEA, so a great place to come after a hard day of shopping.

Food and service is impeccable. It was our first time here and everything we ordered was amazing. Ashlynn (our server) was super friendly, one of the better customer service I've had in a long time and the owner KP was very hands on walking around, making sure we were fine which I thought was a nice touch. I kept thinking why isn't this restaurant talked about enough because the food was 10/10. Faculty and restrooms were clean, vibes were right. Overall food and service was fantastic, doesn't get any better than that!

Eat, Drink, HTX…read more Made a reservation for a Sunday night dinner for three. The restaurant is so cute and cozy with tables and booths. Lots of TVs to watch the Olympic Games while you wait for dinner. I liked watching the open pizza oven. They make a lot of pizzas here. The Eat, Drink, HTX menus are a great way to try new restaurants while giving back to the Houston Food Bank. A starter, an entree and a dessert. $25 for dinner. So many choices on this menu. A great deal while helping out those in need. "Started" with the Turkey Samosas. Four crispy pastries that are filled with seasoned ground turkey, potatoes and parsley served with cucumber yogurt. Delicious! The Ember & Greens Soup that my family had was hot, hot, hot and so tasty. The fresh soup was filled with a blend of spinach, parsley, and cilantro with chickpeas, caramelized onions, pinto beans and quinoa. My FIL polished off his bowl! For dinner, we all had the Blackened Salmon. The salmon with lemon butter and avocado salsa served on roasted carrots, broccoli and potatoes and a bed of quinoa. It was a full plate, which we all took home for dinner the next day. Note: it is quite buttery. My FIL had his butter and avocado salsa on the side which worked for him. I loved mine as is. Even though we were pretty full, we still enjoyed dessert. The tiramisu was so indulgent. Loved the layered mascarpone custard, whipped cream, coffee liqueur and coffee-soaked ladyfingers. My FLI had the Chia Seed Pudding with fresh berries. What a great meal. We had a slight hiccup where the appetizers came slightly after the main meal was served, but they were so honest about what happened that I still have to give them five stars for their food and their service. Would try them again for their generous, delicious meals. Lots of parking. Water glasses were frequently filled both with and without meals. Thank you for a really nice Sunday night dinner with family.

It was a beautiful day, so it would have been the perfect day to eat outside if you like that. I'm an eat indoors kind of person, but if you like to eat outside, they do have a few tables for that. I was meeting a friend for lunch and she suggested Ember & Green. We really couldn't decide what to order, so we decided to order a few things and share them. We started off with the Persian Cucumber Sald. It had Persian cucumbers, heirloom cherry tomatoes, red onions, and Kalamata olives with oil and lemon dressing and topped with parsley and feta cheese. Let me tell you, thats lemon dressing was delicious! It went so well with the cucumbers. Next we ordered Blackened salmon with lemon butter and avocado salsa, served with charred broccolini, roasted carrots and potatoes on a bed of cilantro green pea quinoa. I'm really not a huge fan of salmon, but I'm trying to like it more by trying it different ways. The spices that they put on the salmon were really good, not too spicy, but also, not bland. It was also cooked perfectly. Oh, and that lemon butter... that lemon butter made the meal if you ask me. It was so good. So good in fact, I had to try and make salmon with lemon butter at him the very next week. Mine didn't come out as good as Ember & Greens, but it was decent. That just means that I need to leave the cooking to the professional. For dessert we decided to share the Skillet Cookie. Its a house made chocolate chip cookie baked in a cast iron skillet and topped with Amy's Mexican Vanilla Ice Cream and chocolate sauce. This was the only thing that we ordered that was a nope. I dont know what happened, but it didn't seem like it was cooked at all in the middle. We took a few bites, that was all we could eat of it. All and all, it was a good experience and I will go back. I'll just skip dessert next time.

The ambiance in this new location is more modern and open, gives you less of an intimate setting. We were sat promptly and greeted promptly by our server. We were handed the Valentines day set 3 course menu, which was disappointing since I wanted a specific item from the main dinner menu. I chose the quail crepette. This was underwhelming. The quail was chopped up super fine and the it just didnt have good texture since it was also served with a puree. Couldn't taste any foie gras like the menu implies it had. My husband had the calamari which was the best hot item we received all night. The mushroom sauce it had alone could've been served with every dish and it would've elevated them. Onto the main entrees. I got the filet and substituted for the mushroom risotto since im allergic to shellfish. It was texturely great and flavorful but it was underseasoned, I hated to ask for salt which took 10minutes to receive. My risotto was already cold by the time. But it was a busy evening so I understand. They're probably not used to people asking for salt. My filet had minimal crust, though it was tender as expected. The med rare cook was done in haste because the middle was very cold to the touch. I wish I took a picture of it. At this point, I realized that Masraff's probably serves better non-steak dishes. My husband got the lamb chops, med rare. Im normally the type of enjoy the fat caps for any steak, and grilled lamb fat to me is very flavorful. My husband gave me a bit of the steak with fat on it and although it had great lamb flavor, the fat wasn't rendered at all and it was gelatinous. Seemed like they should've taken more time trimming the chops or spent more time on the grill to char it. The meat by the bones, which is normally enjoyable to gnaw on was entirely raw. The lamb, like the filet, had very little outer crust thats typical of a good cook on steak. The desserts were the best. The chocolate fondant was luxurious as well as the apple crumble. If they opened a dessert only store, I'd be a regular there. Dont get me wrong, its a great establishment and has been around awhile. It just didnt work for me this time around.

Is this the most overrated restaurant in Houston?…read more After being on my "To Try" list for an unacceptable amount of time, I finally made my way over to Nancy's Hustle. I was lucky enough to snag a seat at the bar with no reservation. I arrived about 30 minutes into open and there was already a wait list. I suggest getting there early or making a reservation if you're not a solo diner. The interior is nice and intimate, with low lighting that doesn't work well for photos but definitely for a cozy dinner. The set up and music reminded me a little bit of 93 Til due to the decor. I started with the duck dumplings and the Nancy cakes. I wasn't expecting it but they offer half orders which is great for a solo diner who wants to try multiple things. Both items were delicious. The dumplings had a nice savory sauce with some texture from the peanuts. These were great but probably my bottom of the list which is saying something. I would only say this because they reminded me a lot of the hot oil wontons from duck and bao so at that price point, you might as well get more. The Nancy cakes were pillowy and savory and made a great vessel for honey butter and roe. I even used a bit to dunk into the leftover dumpling sauce. I suggest eating these as soon as they hit your table. I was trying to savor my bites but the cakes benefit a lot from being nice and hot. It's not the most ground breaking dish in the world but it's done well and I would definitely call it a must order. I could have eating a full order of it alone. My main dishes is where my mind was blown. I went with the roast chicken and half order of the gem lettuce salad and fries. This might be the best roast chicken I've ever had in Houston. Chicken can be a hit or a miss because sometimes, there just isn't much flavor. This was absolutely not the case here. The chicken was juicy and seasoned to the core. It even heated up well as left overs without being dry. The chili sauce on the bottom was flavor intensified and as I swiped my chicken through the pools of sauce, I thought to myself "overrated where?!". The gem salad caught me by surprise. I'm not one to stay away from a salad at a restaurant because they typically do them better than you can make at home . Nancy's Hustle solidified this opinion. The salad was wonderfully briney and savory. The lettuce was crisp and covered in the herby shallot dressing that grabbed my taste buds. Topped with anchovies and pancetta for a nice salty touch. So so good. The fries were the perfect side, crisp and not too potatoey (yes this is a thing). I traded in the aoli for some ketchup because that's just my thing. I concluded this wonderful dining experience with a dessert. Buttermilk ice cream with cornflakes, black berries and honey butter cookie. This dessert was a lesson in balance. Every component was present , sweet, salty, crunchy, cool. Each bite had something new to offer and combined into a perfectly executed dessert. As a cocktail, I tried their tropical drink. I don't remember what it was called but I know I could have drank about 7 of those. This was a great dining experience. I think when things get popular, sometimes we feel the need to be contrarians with our experiences. That wasn't the case for me. Nancy's Hustle has earned its popularity and I'll definitely be back
