I was surprised to find this place in Canton OH! I liked that they had a buffet of cooked items AND meats and veggies for grilling or hot pot. My friend and I splurged for $5 extra to get both the grill and hotpot. The soup bases we chose were mushroom and chicken, and both were waaaaay too salty. In hindsight I should've just added some of my ice water to the soup to make it less salty... but I didn't think of it until I was already done with my meal. For the cooked items, my favorite was the fried shrimps. For lunch time, some of the meat items are not available, so the best meat we got was pork belly, with lamb second. The brisket and sliced meats were all sliced way too thin and those worked better for the hotpot and fell apart on the grill. I like that they have happy hour drinks and icecream for dessert. Value wise this was pretty good value for all you can eat buffet. I just wish the meat quality was better. read more

What a fun place to arrive in Canton, Ohio!!! My partner and I are visiting family from out of state, and this was a very enjoyable and yummy date night. First, it's located on the outside of the mall, which is kind of weird aesthetically, but not a complete turn off. I'd say the outside definitely leaves more to be desired, but the inside is something worth venturing in for. Inside the place is a little funky, but I'm here for it. Reminds me of Vegas casino meets Korean karaoke bar. Second, the service was superb!!! Having been to other Asian BBQ/hot pot/AYCE places but not this one, it was nice to get a friendly run down or how things work. Our server explained everything, and I love how attentive she was ... even though a lot of the ordering is done on an iPad. Lastly, regarding the food ... although my partner would have liked to see better quality with the meats, I personally felt like it was appropriate for the price. $30.99 for AYCE ($5 more for both BBQ + hot pot option) is really good!!! Bruno was amazing !! While we were waiting for our party to arrive, he gave us menus to go over and took the time to explain how Korean hot pot /bbq worked . And Ina was just as amazing she was our bartender as well as our hostess. She also helped explain what and how we were to do as far as ordering. We were there for my granddaughters 14th birthday and she enjoyed herself and so did we!! We will definitely be back and possibly go to the STRONGSVILLE location. I feel kind of bad leaving this review; but it is what it is. First, the GOOD. Our server was fantastic. I forgot his name, but he was a younger kid, looked a little like Benson Boone. Super friendly, very upbeat. Asked if it was our first time, to which we said yes. Even though I'd been to a number of Korean BBQ spots in California and NYC, I was still interested to hear how they do it here at KPOT. he walked us through the paper menu, and then jumped on the tablet to explain how to go about placing orders. Pretty straight forward stuff. Now, we'll go to the AVERAGE. They had an appetizer and dessert bar set up, which came as part of the price of dinner. I tried a sushi roll, seaweed salad, a mini spring roll and then a small strawberry cake and chocolate truffle from the dessert side. They were all fine. Not good or bad. The wakame seaweed salad was for better or worse, the highlight of the entire meal. If that tells you anything. On to the BAD. The meat was just not very good. Tried pork belly (a couple ways), salmon, chicken, steak, shrimp and calamari. The meat had ZERO seasoning. I'm aware they have lots of sauces, but unless I missed it, they didn't even have salt or pepper at the table. I tried the steak first. It was kind of meh... having some salt and pepper would have helped immensely. The pork belly was the best of the meats, mostly because the fat rendering gave it a little flavor. While I appreciate having a lot of sauce options, those sauces more or less just covered for the fact that all the meats were below average. By no means do I have a single bit of evidence that the meat has been out a while, but it certainly tasted that way. The sauces were really, really strong. Which I believe was on purpose. Speaking of, as someone who just took a food safety class... the amount of cross contamination and food borne illness risks are off the charts at this place. You share a hot grill with everyone at the table. If you happen to have a food allergy; you can't eat here safely. Also, and I didn't even see it till then end, the whole "how long do I cook stuff?" wasn't really addressed by the server. As we were leaving, I saw that at the very end of the table against the wall, was a laminated paper that said what proper cooking times were for each meat. Letting the table know it was there, and to utilize it, would have been helpful. If you didn't ask, it would be *real* easy to undercook some of this stuff and walk out there with E. Coli or salmonella. The veggies were fine, but again, very average. Mostly canned stuff I'm guessing, based on the taste and presentation. They also didn't give you an oil for the grill Itself; just individual butter packets for whatever reason to use? The problem there is that the flashpoint of butter is too low; and the extremely high heat basically seared the butter black onto the grill cover. That black sear transferred onto the meats. I was hoping it gave an umami flavor, but instead it just made everything taste charred. Less than ideal for sure. At $30.99 a person, the cost was not in line with the food. To add insult to injury; they have Pepsi products, so I couldn't even get a Diet Coke to go with the disaster of a meal. But I won't hold that against them (too much anyways :-) Maybe I've just been lucky enough to experience authentic Korean BBQ at places in areas where there are large Korean populations, giving it a more polished and authentic feel. This place, while clean and well put together, felt a lot like an extension of the Dave & Buster's that it's attached to. Lots of neon lights and stone (or faux stone). Extremely loud as well. Happy to say I've tried the place, but there's a zero percent chance I'll return. If you're into quantity over quality, you may enjoy this spot. You can certainly stuff yourself silly. Myself; I'd prefer to spend $40 on something smaller and better tasting. But again, I'm a bit of a food snob, so don't take this as gospel. Based on the number of people there, it's clearly a popular spot. Just not for me. Your mileage may vary. read more

**UPDATE: Letta is the best server!!** My husband and I love this place!! Tons of options on the menu and you can customize your dipping sauce at the sauce bar that has many condiment options. I see reviews on here of people being upset that the food is bland. The point of hotpot or bbq is to use the broth and dipping sauces to add the flavor you like. If they spice it up too much, the addition sauce will just overwhelm you. Also, don't come here if you're just going to order chicken nuggets then complain about them. What the heck?! read more

A few reviews mentioned poor service- INA was amazing- she explained the entire process from start to finish, took our drinks order (and recommended items), and was very attentive. Pro tips: Get your fried rice/spring rolls/and DEFINITELY make a sauce before you start cooking. I have visited this location twice, and it has been a good experience both times. When you get to the table, they explain to you the variety of options that you have. I haven't gone for dinner yet, but the lunch options are plentiful. There is a bar from which you can choose many sauces, kimchi, and hot options. You place your order on a tablet, and the food comes within a few minutes. The place is new, so it is ultra clean. There are several seats in the building. The only few draw backs are that the lunch price is a little expensive, and I wish that the grills were gas powered. I could see where that could be an issue though. They will change your cooking surface for you often, so that is a plus. This is a huge gain for the Canton area, and I hope it will attract business. I was craving some korean food this weekend and happened to be in Canton to visit the football HOF, so I decided to stop by KPOT and it hit the spot! We did the AYCE kbbq. I order some of the marinated short rib, beef brisket, beef belly, and pork belly. they have a fun buffet of sweets, ice cream, fried rice, sauces, and kimchi! We ended up trying the kimchi which was decent, the sauces which had great variety, and the chocolate ice cream which was delicious! Service was very friendly and quick. I loved how you could order everything on a screen, eliminating the need to wait for someone to check on you. The vibes were super fun and the restaurant was clean! Absolutely love that north canton has Korean BBQ and Hot Pot! The interior was very expansive and had a trendy night club type feel to it. The Korean bbq selection of meats was great as there were some options you don't typically see such as beef tongue and pork cheek, in addition to your usual kalbi, bulgogi, Chadul and different pork belly. It was also nice that they had seafood options as well including shrimp, squid, fish fillet, salmon and very extensive vegetables including sweet potato and pineapple. I love the simplicity of ordering thru a tablet vs having to wait for a server. I also liked the fact that each portion you ordered was not a huge plate, this allows you to try many different meats/seafood/veggies but you can increase the quantity of the order to get more of things you liked. In addition to hot pot or Korean bbq there is a sauce bar where you can create your own sauce as well buffet style station with kimchi, radishes, seaweed salad, oranges, watermelon, honeydew and cantaloupe. They also have chicken nuggets, fried rice and one type of sushi which are great options for kids. Compared to other Korean bbq in other big cities, the meat was not as high quality but was still pretty decent and there were many uncommon options which was nice. The grills did not seem to be very hot as what you would typically find at Korean bbq so you did not get as good of a sear as other places. There were many employees which you could easily flag if you needed your grill changed. I am so happy KPOT is here and if you have never had Korean bbq or hot pot you must give it a try. read more

I recently visited Kpot Korean BBQ, and I must say it was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. From the moment we walked in, the service was subpar. We had to wait an unusually long time to be seated. Once we were finally at our table, it took ages for our server to come and take our order. When the food finally arrived, the meat quality and seafood looked like it had sat out for days. The meat was tough, and the side dishes were bland. The crab was old, and crawfish was hard. We expected a vibrant, flavorful meal, but instead, we were left disappointed. To make matters worse, the staff seemed disorganized and unresponsive. We had to flag down our server multiple times for refills and additional orders, which took forever to arrive. The overall atmosphere was chaotic, and it felt like the staff was overwhelmed and uninterested in providing good service. I was really looking forward to enjoying a great Korean BBQ experience, but Kpot did not deliver. I won't be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for quality food and service. Save your time and money and look elsewhere.
