I love any interactive restaurant, especially where you can modify your meals. I ordered the "Super Yummy Bowl" with a few of my favorite veggies and steak. I was very pleased with the quality of the food and the texture of the noodles! And they had many sauces to choose from which I always love. I did a mix of the Mongolian, teriyaki and brown sauce and it was a delightful flavor. What a fantastic addition to all the dining options in the Belden area! We've been going to BD's Mongolian BBQ for YEARS (I'm a native Michigander and grew up on BD's) and one of the things we miss most from "home" is Mongolian bbq. We were eager to check out Yummy Bowl because they specifically mentioned being similar to BD's. We came on a Friday at lunch and were immediately welcomed and asked if we'd been there before. We had not, and our server, Jane, was SO wonderful. She explained the menu, the process if you get the BYO Bowl, took our drink order, brought us our bowls and showed us the cards to fill out and take up with us. You put your name, table #, and rice choice. The choices are plentiful and there's something for everyone. Jane met us at the sauce section and helped us sample different sauces based on our preferences (I like sweet-n-sour and she recommended General Tso sauce which was exactly what I wanted). My Build Your Own Bowl: shrimp, crab, steak, & chicken, broccoli, onions, green peppers, pineapple, and mushrooms. Topped with seasoning and General Tso sauce. The food came within five minutes and was DELICIOUS! Jane checked on our son who asked for chopsticks and was so impressed at his ability to use them (he eats Ramen frequently and has mastered using chopsticks). Overall it was a superb dining experience. The food was amazing, the service was spectacular, the restaurant atmosphere was clean, friendly, and inviting. As a former resident of the Columbus area....i really loved going to BD Mongolian BBQ, so I was so excited to see this addition to our area. I went on opening day about 11:00am. I was greeted, and I was shown around the place. It's new and clean inside. The food tasted very fresh, and it was cooked well. Nothing was over cooked. Yan took good care of me. The wait staff is very friendly. I hope the prices will stay reasonable. They have an AYCE option for bowls for 17.00 for lunch. I know it's probably a cost and speed thing, but it would be so much better for chunks of meat rather than thin sliced. Anyway, there are several meat, vegetable, and sauce options to choose from. My husband and I went for lunch on a Thursday. We each got a bowl and a sushi roll. They bring the bowl to you and a card that you mark your name, table number and what kind of rice you want (white,brown or fried). They also added a sticker to mine because I have a tree nut allergy. From there you go up buffet style and fill your bowl with noodles, veggies,and proteins. You season your bowl and then there are many sauce options. You pick 2 sauces and put them in little cups for them to add to your bowl when it's done cooking. They also have many tiny sample spoons so you can try the sauces before committing. You can also bring extra sauce back to the table if you want. They then take your bowl and cook it hibatchi style and the waitress brings it back to you. The whole thing was great and the food was phenomenal. I love that you can make it exactly how you want it! Sushi was great too! I think for lunch it was $13 for an adult bowl and the fancy sushi rolls we got right around $13 as well. For four dollars more you could get unlimited bowls, but the one was more than enough food. Similar to Mongolian barbecue. Everything was fresh and tasty. Recommend mixing sauces for a unique flavor profile. You can taste each sauce before you decide. This was our first time there. We ordered off the menu rather than making our own bowl. We both had the chicken fried rice. It was very good and a very generous amount for only $10! There are lots of sauces to choose from. We also ordered the 4 pc crab rangoon for an appetizer. Yummy! We were full after eating less than half and brought the rest home. There was so much leftover that it filled our to-go box. Next time, we will try the 'make our own bowl' method. You fill your bowl with the raw ingredients that you choose yourself then the chefs cook it right there. I like that you can watch your food being made. You pick what and how much seafood, meat, veggies you want. You can fill the bowl. Choose type of rice. Next you can taste test a variety of sauces and choose 1-2 of the ones you like best. Having heard about this place from TikTok and IG Reels I figured I should give it a try. Ive been to other "Mongolian" style cooking restaurants and understand the process of making my bowl. The server was good and explained what was gonna happen and took my drink order and off I went to make my food... The bowl station was clean and well organized, and even had a "hand sanitizer" right there to freshen hands up. The noodles and vegetables looked fresh and was chilled to food code, and the proteins were plentiful and equally as chilled. The seasoning was organized and not spilled everywhere and the sauces were equally as organized and presented. As for the flavor its build your own flavor, so you have to know what tastes good to make sure you don't ruin your food with to much salt or sauce, however if you have some common sense and a reasonable understanding of food flavors you should be good. As for the Flavor they have 15 choices!!! and they were good!! everything from teriyaki to schezuan to spicy Korean garlic to yum yum and all points in between... after you have assembled your bowl you drop it off at the end and they cook it for you. You can head back to your table to wait at this point - your server will bring it to you in a larger different bowl with a side of White, Brown, or Fried Rice. The food: everything was cooked and HOT and flavored with your seasonings and sauces, so its perfectly to your liking. The server was attentive but didn't hover, so I liked that. My only "ding" is that it was on the pricey side for one trip up to the buffet. Not that I wanted or needed a second trip, however I spent $19.85 with drink and extra rice pushed it to $27.35 with tax and tip. The food was very good! The concept of the place is good too but our experience there wasn't so great. If the food is bad it's quite literally your fault unless your food is undercooked because the only thing the chefs do is cook it, you add everything. One thing I find a little odd is that you put your raw meet on top of everything instead of just cooking it with your rice beforehand, but I digress. Always, when we first walked in there we ordered a sushi roll before we went up to get our bowl and it never came. We ended up just going to make our bowls but when we came back tables got switched, which isn't their fault, it was busy, but it just mixed things up with the servers. We had gotten our bowls and waited a little longer for our sushi and still, we never got it. It had been about an hour and nothing! So we ordered it again and it still didn't come for another 45 minutes when we had already finished our bowls. There was no mutual communication with other servers for like every other server was trying to take our order. The atmosphere was certainly interesting, people cutting us in line, yelling people, crying babies, old Loud ladies, just overall loud and chaotic environment. Good food, and good people watching though if that's your cup of tea. It's not worth the hype, you could definitely make the food at home. I watched them put store bought Walmart brand green beans refill so it would likely be more food and less money to stay home and make it by yourself. With the chaotic environment, lack of communication between staff, and the overall service which took 2 hours mind you, I give it a 2/5. My family have a tradition of going to Chinese restaurants on Christmas day. Our old standard closed their doors. Yummy Bowl took their place. It has been completely remodeled and is beautiful. My wife and I gave them a try a few weeks ago and loved it. We decided they will be our new place for Christmas day. They are open then, we checked. You get to choose what ingredients you want, and they cook it and bring it to your table. It will take some time to find what I like.
