We went in on a busy Friday night, and waited at the bar area. The bar is so cute, with attentive servers and good drinks. The three of us waited about an hour to be sat. We were put at a table in the back, understandable given the crowd, but the AC above us was dripping down onto our table. So we had to shuffle around our booth seats to avoid it. One of our induction tops to cook the soup did not work, so we had to share. In hindsight, we should have only ordered the soup. Using the grill was fun, but the ingredients for the soup cooked much more consistently, if slowly given one not working haha. Table service was unfortunately slow and inconsistent. We understand the crowd, however our server often forgot to bring our items to us and couldn't answer our questions. Towards the end of dinner, which took quite long given what we were working with, our server was changed, without notification, to someone else who was very attentive, kind and quick. Wish we'd had him from the start. Unfortunately, I must also question the hygiene and safety of the place. Not just the dripping AC, but most importantly the silverware situation. Because our server kept forgetting to bring us utensils, we got up to grab them from buckets near the buffet, as we saw other people doing so. The silverware was spotted, and because people are sticking their entire hands in there to grab stuff for whatever reason....we weren't too happy with that. We actually used hand wipes a friend brought to try and sanitize our utensils at the table. It would be nice if management got rid of that entirely and had silverware at the table when you sat down, or servers who brought it to you when asked. Also, at the buffet line I almost tripped on a giant wet spot. There was no warning sign on it and I didn't bother telling our first waiter since he was brushing us off anyways. One of my friends and I got sick that night after eating here. I don't want to accuse the restaurant of being the direct cause, since the food and drinks themselves tasted good at the time, and our other friend didn't get sick. But we are all thinking about those gross utensils... Unfortunately we don't feel comfortable going back after our experience. read more

I'm a tad disappointed with my most recent visit at KPot in Hazlet compared to my past experiences. I came with a party of six, and we were sat at a relatively small table considering the size of the party. For an AYCE experience, the table became full so quick, and we only had one grill for everyone. I would've happily waited for a larger table to accommodate everyone. They were also sold out of my favorite meat (spicy pork bulgogi), as well as some other things from the menu. The buffet in the back was lacking one of my favorite sauces, as well as seaweed salad. Everything I ate was still pretty tasty, although the steak I tried was chewy and not very flavorful. I still loved the garlic pork belly and I enjoyed the beef bulgogi. We normally go to Fort Lee or Ktown in NYC for Korean food. We decided to take a chance and try Kpot since we live right here in Aberdeen. We are happily surprised at how good and reasonably priced this place is! We were not looking for BBQ tonight but wow-this was so good! All of the meat was delicious and marinated perfectly. You do need to know how to order here in order to get your moneys worth. Don't waste it on chicken or the appetizer bar. And don't fill up on rice! At our favorite place in K- town we end paying the same but only get pork belly ala carte and panjan. To top it off, we get to take home little cup of ice cream to eat later after we fully digest our food! Shout out to Marline C, our very friendly server! Thanks so much! Went with my 2 granddaughters to KPOT in Hazlet for lunch. We had such a great time. They loved doing the ordering on the iPad and trying to determine what to order. We wound up with a bit too much food but, hey, we will know better next time. The service was quick. The food was fresh. We overcooked some of the meat but, hey we will know better next time. They really enjoyed cooking the food themselves. I had the spicy beef and it was delicious. We all had rice and ramen. We could have shared 2 portions of rice and it would have been plenty. I also went up to the counter for sauces. There was a HUGE selection. We were very comfortable with the table. It's sort of private the way it's set up. We definitely will go back. read more

Ice cream storage deceiving. You see all kinds of ice cream photos on the side of the freezer and when you look inside, there's the little ice cream cups from BJs or Costco and only strawberry. Little plastic spoons for it but we had to use forks and butter knife for it. But it was funny, my son and I got a nice laugh. If I could give this location 0 stars, I would. This is by far the worst KPot location I've ever visited. The service was extremely poor from start to finish. The staff was inattentive, and even though we placed our order on the iPad, multiple items arrived incorrectly. The restaurant also lacked cleanliness. The bathroom was dirty, and the self-service bar and sauce station were in unacceptable condition. The sauces appeared to have been sitting out for a long time, and there were flies around the station, which was very unappetizing and raised concerns about food hygiene. Amazing experience at KPOT Hazlet! My family had such a great time dining here. The food was incredibly fresh, and there was plenty of it. Everything from the meats to the veggies was top quality. KPOT is a great option if you are hungry and have like 3 hours to truly utilize the all you eat. If you don't have time or if you are not hungry then the price won't be worth it. The food is good and I enjoyed the broths and the meats that were marinated. However, if the meat didn't have any marinade on them then they didn't taste like anything. I recently came here with my family, my kids are 6 and 8 and we had a great experience. The dining room is clean, and they had the AC blasting to keep it cool and comfortable. Our server was named Mason and he was very thorough in explaining how the experience works and in directing us to the sauce and appetizers bar. Mason was kind and courteous and we recommend him for any family coming in. The other great thing I wanted to point out was the variety of drinks, plus the fact they have a bar and serve alcohol. KPOT Korean BBQ & Hot Pot is both of my nephew's favorite restaurant. They have been here before and asked me to come here a few times since they opened this location. I think that they went to other locations too. I am normally not crazy about all you can eat restaurants or cooking my own food when I got out to eat but this has been a great experience. This place was super busy we had a wait time up to 40 minutes when we came here around 6:30pm but we got in earlier. Since this was my first time here I let my nephews take the lead. We did both hotpot and Korean BBQ. The waitress was fantastic she took our drink and soup orders. They offered 8 different types of soups for their hotpot. I ordered the Miso soup and it was a perfect choice for me. Then we went up to check out their sauce bar which was impressive. All types of Asian sauces, plus instructions on how to create specific flavor sauces. There was also and appetizer bar with fried rice, fried shrimp, fried chicken wings plus more. I went directly to their chicken wings which were delicious it was all you can eat and I was reminded to pace myself :-). Their were different types of meats, seafood, soybeans, vegetables, and noodles. I went directly to the vegetables for the soup and my nephew's did the rest of the ordering and they did a great job. We had so many different types of meats and noodles. Some were for the Korean bbq and some were for the hotpot. We made all of our orders thru their iPad. Everything was streamlined. Select what you want on their i-Pad press send and a few minutes later your order comes out. All orders come out in a small plates. You can order as much as you want but you will be charged if you don't finish everything that you order. For desert they had fruit and ice cream available. Of course I had to get the ice cream which were small cups of the standard flavors (strawberry, chocolate and vanilla). 3.5/5 As someone who doesn't eat a lot usually, this all-you-can-eat experience was really fun! I love hotpot and Korean bbq is also pretty good so combining both together was a very cool idea. I loved how spacious it was, the booths are very cozy. You're limited to 2 hours for this AYCE, which I thought was ample. You choose either/or, or both for $5 extra. You get your own personal hotpot bowl and a big grill in the center to share. As for ordering, you have to tell them what soup base you want for your hotpots, and everything else can be ordered on the iPad. Don't worry about not knowing how long to cook what, there is a quick reference guide to the side! FOOD: 4/5 There were so many options of meats (lamb, beef, chicken, pork belly, bulgogi, ribs) and veggies, seafood, appetizers to choose from. I chose the tomato broth, no regrets there. There's a sauce station with so many different options. I enjoyed their kpot sauce! I thought it was delicious, towards the sweet side, a little tangy. They have some appetizers (fries, fried shrimp, forgot what else) and fruits (watermelon, melon, cantaloupe, orange) as well as ice cream you can take to go (chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, coffee). SERVICE: 3/5 A couple of things that were a little odd to me, having had lots of hotpot back home and kbbq before - 1. Our grill was so dirty and charred towards the middle, it's a little surprising that it wasn't changed at all. Usually at other kbbq places, they just change it out for you every once in a while. 2. This goes for the broth as well, my tomato broth was at least 1/3 to almost 1/2 gone and I had to request for additional broth to be added. But here's the catch, they don't add broth! They add hot water... doesn't that dilute the base? How does that work? I've never had that happen before at a hotpot place. Usually they add more of your broth. 3. So we told our server (who was very nice) that it was our first time here, and she made lots of recommendations and showed us how to navigate the iPad. However, she sent our cart to the kitchen without letting us finalize the options! This kinda threw us off for a bit because we weren't really given a chance to tell her we didn't want something or even look over her finalized list. While this is AYCE, everyone has different preferences and I feel like before she sends the list off, she should've let us look it over. Note that any extra food you don't finish, there is a surcharge. 4. It took a while for our dirty plates to be cleared although I had already neatly stacked them on the side of our table. read more

Horrible service - had to wait for for everything. Waiter was nowhere to be seen - had to get my own napkins. And they had the nerve to charge me for tea even when I brought in own tea bags - and them serving me hot water. I've never heard of any establishment that consider "tea bag" as a food or drink. Would love to see them eat and drink the tea leaves on its own. The only kpot that does this - probably explains why no one is there. Food portions when ordering from the ipad is point less - you can order 2 or 3 portions - still comes out the same amount. Been there a ton of times and it's just getting worst, while tolerable, but this is just such a turn off - that I will rather spend my money elsewhere. If they charge me for tea ... why did t they offer to give me tea bags to take home or had warned me from the beginning? What a scam. read more

We tried this restaurant as it was new in the area, and we love K-Pot. We didn't have expectations when we walked in here. The restaurant had nice decor to welcome us in. When we came in, they asked if we're doing hot pot or k-bbq. We were brought to a table to be seated, and then left with an ipad. Our table, who has not been here before, were sort of confused as to the process and a bit overwhelmed. I went back up to the front of the restaurant and asked them to find our waiter, to have them come explain to us what the process is for this. Once explained, I asked if there's a time limit between ordering, which I was told no, and then when we placed the first round of orders and went to hand it to the next person to order theirs, it was locked and someone had to come unlock it for us so we could keep ordering. The table has individual stoves for each person on the table for hotpot only, and only one cook top for k-bbq. I do think it would be beneficial since we have cooktops for each person to have an option to cook the bbq individually. This made it somewhat difficult for meat / vs / fish eaters, etc. but not a huge deal. They did come about halfway through and ask if we wanted the tabletop changed which we did. The food was all good quality here, and very tasty. We enjoyed everything we ate and the variety of items available for the dishes. Once we got rolling with the process, it became easier to navigate and we had a nice time, despite the hiccups at the start. They could use a few more options for dessert, but what they offered was nice. read more

We had such a great experience here, and a big part of that was our amazing waitress Shelby. Shelby was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Shelby explained the menu clearly, checked in at the perfect times, and made the whole experience feel welcoming and relaxed. The service overall was outstanding. On top of that, the restaurant itself was spotless. Every table, utensil, and surface looked incredibly clean and well cared for. The dining area felt bright, organized, and pristine, which made the meal even more enjoyable. My children beg to come to KPOT of Hazlet all of the time. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The environment is very clean and new. The food is fresh and delicious. The sauce bar has every sauce you can think of. My favorite is the sweet and spicy. My favorite food to make is the chicken soup pot with spinach and chicken. I top it with the sauce. Let me not leave out the spring rolls. I eat about 10 every time. As far as desserts, I love grilling the pineapple, then having the sesame cakes. I will definitely be back soon!!! read more

Came in on a Saturday evening. Food was good and service was good as well. Aidan was our server and he was very attentive and came by periodically to ensure we were doing ok. The gentleman bringing our food as we ordered was also very professional and friendly. Overall great service by the staff members. Being from LA it's difficult to compare ayce kbbq to kbbq spots back home. The meats had good flavor, just wish there was more variety of sides such as corn cheese, Korean steamed eggs, potato salad, and most importantly rice paper. Some better than others, just need to try all the meats to find your fav. Service was very accommodating, had grill changed out 3xs and very quick with refill order. Comparing this Location to the New Brunswick location feels insulting. The meat was extremely greasy and unseasoned, with a really peculiar aftertaste I cannot describe ? The New Brunswick location has amazing flavor in all of the meat, and this location was just so sad. I was really excited to eat here because it was close by Home, but I will not be coming back. Even though you could order whatever you liked they only brought a few pieces of vegetables broccoli, onions, so you would have to order a few times. There was no duck sauce. Been here a few times now, but wanted to write a review because it really is quite nice. Personally love the spicy beef bulgogi, but tons of great meat (and veggie!) options. The self-service bar is handy for getting different sauces for yourself - I didn't personally LOVE the appetizers there, but it's nice to have options. The little to-go ice cream cups were cute and nostalgic as well. I also want to shout-out Jezrah for her service on my second visit, who went above and beyond - my friend spilled his drink on himself and she darted over and helped clean up, which she really didn't need to do. Very good service! If I had to point out one area for improvement, it'd be nice if the tables had more than one grill for Korean BBQ, even if they had to be a bit smaller to accommodate. We have some people who only want to grill veggies or non-spicy meats, and its easy to cross the streams as it currently is. Its also a pain for some people to man the grill in the current placements, if you're not near it you have to stretch your arm a bit. On the whole, however, it's excellent and well worth the visit! read more
