I loved this place. I went for dinner with my cousins and since it's in a big lot parking is very convenient. We did just the bbq and stayed for the full 2 hours. I absolutely loved the sauce bar and thought it was such a fun way to customize your flavor profile. There were so many options for seasonings and pretty much any combination tastes good. When we arrived it was pretty crowded and we didn't have a reservation but after 15 minutes at the bar we were able to sit down and the food came almost immediately. The restaurant has a great set up so you can get a drink and watch a game before your table is ready. Service is fast and attentive and every server who passed by was kind and friendly and gave tips about how to best enjoy the meal. The grills are replaced pretty much immediately and the food comes out within a minute of ordering it. My favorite items were the seasoned pork but everything feels high quality and is delicious. We did the BBQ instead of the hot pot soup. My favorite items were the spicy salmon (the marinade is delicious), the mushrooms, and the zucchini. The onions didn't really ever cook enough for me to want to eat them. They would have been nice with some of the thin-sliced steak, but they never got soft. I've come here a few times and I can say the service and experience has declined since it first opened. The bathrooms were gross, unkept and unclean. The hostess always tell you a different wait time when you go up to check how long you have left. I don't like that everyone has to choose the same option. I would recommend confirming with your entire party beforehand on what they want to do either kbbq or hotpot. Tip is included for our party, we were 7 people. Came with my family on a weekday night and they don't do separate options for diners who only eat kbbq and not hotpot if other people at your table are eating hotpot. They have an iPad system to order your meat & sides but we had to send some orders 3-4x before we had to call a server because things weren't being delivered. They do change your grills very frequently, but I suggest they figure out a different system for the butter/oil because the brush touches raw meat, seafood, and the grill and then goes back into the jar. read more

I had high hopes for this place but I should've known the unlimited food would unfortunately bring down it's quality. My thin brisket steak is so fatty I couldn't enjoy the actual meat. My rice came cold too. I can appreciate their kind staff but the wait was over an hour. The wait for the meats to arrive not only took longer than it should have but the amount given each round were very small. I'd also like to say as I went add my gratuity on the bill, my waitress was right behind me watching me like a hawk the entire time. It felt unnecessary considering I gave a decent tip. My guest uses a wheelchair, and at first we were told we couldn't be seated at the larger table because it was for parties of seven or more, even though we did have seven people including a child. I ended up going back and forth to the podium several times, and only after mentioning ADA accessibility did they finally accommodate us. I just hope accessibility needs can be handled more smoothly and proactively in the future. $30 AYCE KBBQ is a pretty average price for what it is. I've previously been to other AYCE KBBQ and I don't think this spot is better / worse but just average. They have all the meats you expect, but my favorites are probably kalbi and garlic pork belly. I did find that the quality of the meat really differs even for the same dish. Sometimes it's the perfect ratio of fat to meat and other times it's all fat. Their kimchi radish is pretty good but they don't have kimchi as other reviews mentioned. They did have red velvet cake which was a nice dessert. There was a lot ice cream which is always delicious. Server was very nice and checked in often. The ventilation is pretty bad though. Located in a strip mall with a Shoprite off Route 22 in Union, NJ, this outwardly unassuming spot you can find Korean BBQ and hot pot (individual pots) all in one! While the descriptions of the pots would be more useful with a picture, the website helped for the menu. They do bbq or hot pot all-you-can-eat or both for an extra $5 a person. Entire table has to do the same thing. Big center areas for cooking the BBQ on your own; individual pots for the hotpot. Service was ok, good to start and then had to flag down the rest of the night as it became busier. They allowed you to order a certain number of meats to start, and then you can add more as you finish. The servers non-stop worked on replacing the grill and taking away extra plates. The BBQ is grill-yourself, so if you're used to other places where the server does the Korean BBQ, not so much here. You can even get some ribeyes to do yourself (8oz+ steaks) and some other cuts of meat and seafood only at dinner (vs a cheaper lunch menu). The mushroom broth or miso broth for the hot pot were good; the variety of food wasn't as good as a dedicated Chinese hotpot place (particularly lacking things like frozen tofu and many varieties of fishballs), but the KPot sauce was a sweet and interesting selection from the sauce bar. Lots of kimchi at the bar, too, all-you-can-eat of that. And light dessert bars. No ice cream - separate charge for that and any drinks other than water. The bubble tea - bubbles were like hard jelly chewables; not the soft bubbles as I expected, so wasn't really worth the $5 to get that. Overall, some good, some bad, 2 hr limit to the table and once you get your check, no more drinks (since they have to add charges to that). Self-cook everything. Group of 7 had tip automatically added but they asked if you wanted to tip even more on top of that (2-4%, though, so not extreme). read more

This is your all in one Korean dining experience. You can do the BBQ, you can do the Hot Pot, but the best part is... it's AYCE (All You Can Eat)!!! It's not just the quantity, but the quality. The meats, veggies, dumplings, even the toppings bar... all are fresh and colorful. This is what you want to see. As for the BBQ meats I really liked the "Angus Chuck Flap Tail and K-Pot Short Rib, followed by Beef Bulgogi. If you use my "tip" you can add flavor to your meats. The staff is always around and there for you. My waiter, Justin, was super helpful by explaining everything and taking care of my table. This is the icing on the cake... great food, great atmosphere, great experience, great business! TIP: Hit up the topping bar and grab a bowl with sesame oil then add minced garlic and chives inside of it. This will go on your BBQ skillet to cook the meat on. You need to get the sauces from the back of this place to have your bbq to have taste. Lunch during weekdays is only $20 per person and $30 dinner and all day weekends. Server is attentive and friendly. Place is kinda dark since the lights were deemed or maybe low voltage lights? Came here with my brother for lunch today. The service here was fantastic: took the time to explain everything and was constantly switching out our grill, very appreciated. The beef bulgogi was the star of the show! Absolutely fucking delicious. The veggies were just okay. My brother tried the kimchi and hated it. Wasn't too impressed with the music/ambience. They need better ventilation for the Smokey grills, thankfully most of the other patrons ordered hot pot. I don't know about you, but I'm feeling KPOT on US22. Since 2018, KPOT has built a reputation as a leader in the hot pot/Korean barbecue in one restaurant with its fearless expansion in the Tri-State area. The expansive selection of both food and drinks did not leave for much blank space on the menu. Arriving way before midnights at 7:00pm, we decided to live our wildest dreams and ordered from the hot pot and Korean barbecue menu. Managing between the two will require a delicate balance. ...Ready for it? The spicy red Korean tofu soup base was flavorful and tons of seafood was already in the soup. The baby octopus was quite spicy but we were able to shake it off with a delicious fruit drink that had plenty of style. Meats for hotpot and barbecue were gorgeous, especially the spicy bulgogi and pork belly. "I knew you were trouble" was what we said after ordering the third round of food. Service was very helpful, prompt and speedy that we almost had to tell our server Richard that "you need to calm down." We had a party of 6 on a Sunday arriving into a peak dinner time. Upon our entry into our booth our server, Andrew R (Drew), was incredibly kind and patient with some of our first timers. Since this isn't my first time at this location, I expected a very moderate experience but Drew was very personable and definitely put a smile on my tables face after an arduous day. In relation to our food, all of our food came out at a quick pace and was incredible. Our food never took more than 2 minutes to arrive in completion. I had a super great meal at this kbbq restaurant! I came on a sunday night and it was packed (great for the businesses ofc), but I did have to wait about 30 minutes before being seated. The interior has nice comfortable and spacious booth seatings as well. Our waitress was so very thorough in explaining the menu and she even helped us cook our meat in the beginning! Food wise, I absolutely loved the galbi- it was slightly sweet and tastes great with the rice! The food came out fast so I didn't have to wait long to get my orders! Drink wise, I got the lychee-tini which definitely had lots of pear flavor mixed in it too. They are fairly strict on the seating time, so it's great they were accommodating to wait for some of the people in the party before seating us. 1 price for either hot pot OR kbbq, or opt for a upcharge ($5 at the time of the review) for both -- and of course the entire party has to be aligned here. Vast options for both hot pot and bbq. I went with a bunch of newbies and they had no idea what was going on, so I wish there was a little more instruction and/or help in manning the grill. Also, there are some great meat options, don't get me wrong (steak, pork cheek, angus, etc), but the seafood section and portion size is a bit lacking. For example, no crabs on the menu. They did have clams, etc. but each order came with 4 manila clams and you could only order max of 2 portions per order sent. They do have a full bar (not BYOB as other reviews have mentioned) - we ordered 1 bottle of white wine; and it was nice they let us know it was Warm before serving it to us -- so we switched types of varietal. As others have mentioned the sauce bar is somewhat pared back from what I'm used to, but it had all the things I was looking for (soy sauce, sacha, sesame, green onions, minced garlic, oyster sauce, fish sauce, peanut), so I was pleased. They seriously try to overload you on ice cream at the end which is a nice perk vs. other places that are ice cream stingy. Overall good experience, just need to set expectations before heading here compared to some other non-chain spots. read more

The only reason it's not 5 stars is because they don't take reservations. They have 2 hour time limit per table so it would be easy to do. We tried to go once with friends but the wait was 1 and a half hours so we went somewhere else. This is THE place to visit, especially when you're HUNGRY! How can you go wrong with an all you can eat Korean BBQ & Hot Pot? ... You cant! The portions are super generous, and the cuts of meat and selection of seafood are great - they really don't cheap out, like some other places. The drink menu here is quite extensive, and they even have bubble tea! If you're a newbie to Korean BBQ and Hot Pot - here are my musy try recommendations: Hot Pot - Miso Broth (its the best, and most neutral flavor), plus all the other stuff you add to it will add even more flavor and richness. Met some friends here last night for dinner. We generally get together and catch up over food, and one friend suggested this place. The food was good. You can choose hot pot or BBQ, or both, but everyone has to agree to the same thing. I would have preferred hot pot but since we had a couple of picky people with us, we went with BBQ. I liked the variety of sauces that you could choose for dipping. There were all different levels of spicing, so there's something for everyone. We ordered a lot of protein selections to make everyone happy. The beef bulgogi and spicy chicken cooked up well. The calamari was too chewy, and the garlic pork belly was good. The ribeye steak was mediocre at best. I'd stick with other choices. We added potatoes, bok choy & onions. Service was great, our server checked in with us frequently, changed out our BBQ grill, and kept our drinks full. One minor problem - you will leave here smelling like all of the food, especially the onions. I got home and threw everything in the wash, but my purse still reeks. Today was my first time visiting the KPOT Union, NJ locations and unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed. To start, their side selection was very lacking. At other locations, I've gotten to enjoy fish cakes, bean sprouts, edamame, turnips, fruit, dessert and kimchi. This location only had turnips, kimchi, fruit, dessert, and fried seaweed. Additionally, upon getting the menus, I instantly noticed there were less chicken options at this location. As I don't eat beef, I had wished I had known this before picking this location. The quality of the food however, fit the standard that I expect from KPOT locations so I was satisfied with this piece. The ambiance of the restaurant overall was standard and clean. However, the restrooms were filthy. There was water and toilet paper next to almost every stall. I was forced to use the one clean stall that did not lock. I was throughly disgusted by the state of the restrooms and they did not help my appetite. I will say that the highlight of this KPOT location was the service. The staff were very kind and attentive. We got our cooking plate switched out multiple times and they checked on us every few mins. This was much appreciated. All in all, I'm a big fan of KPOT.
