Met a fellow member at Kraft for a late afternoon workout. It is located off Holly Springs rd not too far from the I-540 construction quagmire. Parking lot is adequate but limited in terms of spaces. The 'Y' itself, is a good workout option. It is 2 floors with the 1st dedicated to check-in, locker rooms, 2 Workout studios, and a basketball court. Level 2 has a track that circles the above, and the cardio, free weights, weight machines. There is a nice mixture of new/old cardio options, and ample offerings for lifting. Personally, I only encountered 2 employees, both of whom, were very friendly. Locker room is adequate but on this day the dry sauna was out of order. I only spied the pool from the upstairs so I can not accurately assess it, only to say, they have one. I enjoyed my workout and will utilize Kraft once again when I am in the area. read more

Visited Kraft before 8am this morning and was disappointed in the cleanliness of the floors on the 2nd floor. I have visited Kraft many times over the years, but this morning the smell was highly offensive and emitted as soon I walked into the building. Kraft had been my go-to YMCA until the gym started to feel super crowded with equipment. Of course, everyone likes new equipment, but the space is tight! The weightlifting area, also on the 2nd floor, has generous space and offerings. read more

This Kraft branch of the YMCA is fantastic. The facilities are super clean. This is my 4th year! This branch is cleaner than the Country Club pool that I had always attended. I love it here! The staff is polite, and they do keep it very clean. It makes my summer. I would have given them 5 stars except for the following... However, and I give this dire warning. I realize that this is a highly charged subject, and am not sure legally what the Kraft can do. They allow severely impaired "Special Needs" children to use the pool in groups, one day per week, in the Adult pool. These children defecate and urinate in the pool. I actually saw feces leave the pants of a male patient. This is unacceptable to all paying patrons. I am a retired Dr., and was a Lead Chemist for the DOD in Germany during the Persian Gulf War. I worked in Environmental and Organic Toxicology. I am considered an expert in my field. For the public knowledge not familiar with this topic, parasites and bacterial infections from human feces are endless and very serious, including but not limited to Cryptosporidium. There are many others difficult to test for. Shocking the pool with massive doses of chlorine is a start, but then the pool must remain closed for a period. When I expressed my grave concerns, they professionally and politely explained " we can't discriminate". In addition, parents of individual special needs brought their children to the pool. These children screamed loudly for hours and threw fits the whole time the parents had them sitting on the loungers. It was awful for the other paying patrons. I would get up and have to leave, after driving for 30 minutes just to get there. Again, the Kraft was very polite, and said " there's nothing we can do; we can't discriminate". Sigh I strongly urge parents of these special needs children to not impose upon the Kraft and all other patrons. Please be considerate of others. Update: I have declined to attend during the 2018 Summer, and permanently DISCONTINUED my Membership for the 2019 Summer due to the massive amounts of toddler-small children taking up the entire adult space with accessibility to the stairs for the entire afternoons, AND the continued urination of children and adults in the large pool and also the defecations. read more

Boyfriend and I are trying to find a convenient gym to join so we checked out the Kraft YMCA. We did a tour and they gave us a pass to try the gym out twice. Pros: -Staff is friendly -Lockers are available (the key comes on a pin that you can hook to your clothes) -Outdoor pool (I wish they had an indoor pool too but not at this location) -Indoor track, this is probably what I like the most -Basketball courts that are also used for volleyball and futsal -Classes are available -Tons of workout options available -Price Cons: -Depending on the time and day, can get crowded -Sunday hours are 12 to 6, I wish they opened earlier -This gym is daycare/family oriented so you will see a lot of children Now the great debate of which gym do we join.. read more

My sister and I go here very often. We love it! The machines are very sturdy, and there's a huge selection. My one complaint is the prices of the membership and personal training. It is quite the investment compared to other gyms. Other than that, the upstairs gym area is great and the classes downstairs are very fun and active. The pool is very fun, but keep in mind if you have a kid / young teen they will have to take a swim test in order to swim without you there. Other than that the pool is very fun, clean, and safe. read more

As an out of towner I am completely jealous of this Y. It's new, large. Tons of equipment and a very large free weight section. Many classes. I took an excellent and difficult bosu class. My local Y is much smaller. Still nice, but would love something like this. read more

I love this gym. I have been going at least three days a week for 6 months now. Well worth the money. Body pump is great. Staff is very motivating and they have a wide variety of programs you can join depending on your interests. Only area of concern I have is that staff is very young and sometimes just not helpful. While training for a triathlon I always had to ask that they ask the pool "water waders" to float somewhere other than the lap swim lane. They are reserved for a reason. Will be going here long term. read more

The good: The staff are very professional and friendly. The facility is super spacious and has a good variety of machines to accomplish just about any range of fitness activity. The bad: Equipment & accessibility to free weights. The Cybex machines are not well maintained. The vinyl coverings are cracked and and peeled off on several machines so that the foam underneath becomes soaked with sweat and it's rather nasty to work out on them. Also, weights are left on equipment (ie: 250lbs of plates on the calf press) & there doesn't seem to be anyone walking the floor to keep free weights in order. read more

Always clean facilities and friendly staff. I go here to work out but my son also goes here for after-school care and track out care. The counselors are nice and my son is always excited to go and sad to come home. I see that as a good thing :) read more

Only sports and nothing else plus they have nothing for field trips which last like 5 minutes and the counselors are mean to kids.

Nice, clean facilities. However, do you like Zumba? Well, so does everyone else. I joined for the awesome Zumba classes but now I rarely ever go to them. The reason- it is so crowded! The studio is not big enough to house that many people. There have literally been 40+ people in a single Zumba class. You can't move around and do the moves all out like you're supposed to, and Heaven forbid you have to navigate through the crowd of people to go grab your water bottle. You risk getting hit in the face as there is no room to navigate a safe route. I've moved on to the cycling class where at least I can have some kind of personal space. The machines upstairs are new and nice and there's rarely a wait to use them. I find the staff friendly. read more

I've been a member for several years, 4 to be exact. The facility is beautiful, the staff good and there's plenty of group classes which are most imortant to me. There's one HUGE problem with this YMCA: lack of parking spaces. If you want to blow steam at the end of the day or after work I suggest you come early. Chances are you will be driving around for several minutes before you find an empty spot. If they have any other sports activities or when the pool is also open I suggest you just stay at home or find another gym close to you. That's exactly what I'm doing. read more

This is the worst YMCA I've ever been to. In fact, it's the worst gym I've ever been to. My family and I went there today to play some basketball. It was open gym and a group of guys were playing full court. An employee by the name of, Stephen, said that he would tell them to play half court so that we can play. We didn't want to make them do that, so we waited. After the 3rd game was up, we took our turn on half of the court to play. A few minutes into our game they started playing full court right on top of us. Not only did they throw my ball away, but they threatened to kick me "a**" and told me to step outside. After being threatened multiple times, for doing what we were allowed to during open gym, "play basketball," even after we waited our turn, I had had enough. I asked Stephen, the employee, to get there manager. The manager came in and did a good job defusing the situation; however, he made me and my family get off the court and plowed them to play a new game. After confirming this was open gym time for all to play, he agreed and confirmed, but did nothing about it. After telling him I was threatened, he did NOTHING about it. He didn't even ask for my name or even cared about my safety. This was the MANAGER. Marco Ramirez. All he did was apologize, yet he completely compromised my family's membership rights and did nothing when we were threatened. Upon leaving, another lady was complaining about the same thing, concerned for the safety of her and her young child who just wanted to play basketball. Not only will I not return toga location, but I will be contacting Betsy Peters, and I hope she's reading this right now. I have never seen a situation held so poorly from upper management in my life. I will never suggest this place to anyone and will give the most honest feed back I can on every social media platform so that families will know that this establishment is not a safe place for their families. My family is pulling there membership and my wife and I will never become members. read more

The YMCA is definitely worth the money! The pool is great in the summer. It can be a little crowded, but the adult swim is the perfect time to get in. The gym has great facilities and the Zumba classes are great! I am also a fan of the body pump and body combat classes. The basketball court can get a little busy and it would be nice to have one for kids 14 and under. The younger kids get pushed off the court on occasion. My son also goes to the camp crossroads in the summer, which he loves! They do a great job! read more

I would give them a 0 if I could. The YMCA after care at Middle Creek Elementary allows bullying. My daughter was hit several times by 3 older boys from behind while they held on to her shoulders. As hard as they could, they kicked their knees into her back. . The boys were not suspended. The people watching them are 17 and 18 year olds that are not properly trained. Send you child some where safer. The supervisors heard her screams and thought they were playing and did not even check is out. read more

I take my kids to the pool every summer and I know the YMCA reaches out to community and has summer camps. but the summer campers at the pool are wild. We all sit out until they are out of the pool which is crazy since we are paying members. my 9 yr old daughter earned her black band and was in the deep end when campers were jumping in.. one landed on top of her. Lifeguards are a joke at the Y. The only thing they blow the whistle for is for running. There's also no consistency with Lifeguards. Some let them make running leaps into the pool, some do not. Some let them jump in the pool from the sides, some do not. Some dump water on kids heads as they go down the slide. We have joined the Y each summer for the past 3 years and unless something changes with the campers, we aren't coming back. There are 3 lap swimming lanes not being used most of the time - and the campers fill up the big pool. I got beaned in the head which a soccer type ball kids were skimming across the pool. My daughter also got hit in the head but not as bad as when it hit me upside the nose. Again, Lifeguards... sitting there, saying nothing. We have used the work out equipment and it's great, classes are wonderful as well but I can't take that pool another year. I can go to Club Worx without the hassles and it's closer. read more

This is the second year my boys have attended camps at the Kraft Y. It's an awesome place! They always come home happy an talking about their day. The Counselors are what make the place so great. I have never had to worry about their safety or if they are having a good time. The themes and activities keep them engaged and the staff make it memorable. It's a great value for what you get- I definitely recommend it! read more

My granddaughter attend the Y summer camp and she just loves it. The staff is friendly and helpful, the facility is very well kept and the beads she earns for character development help to remind us to follow up at home....things like "everyone is responsible for their own things" really help as a reminder when we get after the kids to clean up their room or toys...thanks Kraft, see you next year. read more
