We were listing our home for sale much sooner than anticipated." I received a call Monday morning saying they received my message and they could schedule us that day as they had just had a cancellation that was actually for our area. By 11:00 Am that day the service person, TJ came out and cleaned the AC compressor and gas insert and glass. I was thrilled when I saw how fabulous the fireplace looked. However, due to it being a Saturday, I was charged a $250 weekend service charge. The problem was that drifting snow had blocked the outflow pipe. While the technician was at my home, he received a call from my neighbor experiencing exactly the same thing. The technician advised him to clear his exhaust pipe. No charge. I did not object to the technician's service fee, but felt the weekend fee excessive, especially since my neighbor was treated fairly at NO CHARGE. I had a PTAC unit installed to replace the old one that was no longer working properly. The…read moreprevious day Schaal sent their estimator to assess if the old unit was repairable. He determined that it would be expensive to fix the air conditioner function of the unit. I asked him what a new unit would cost. I wish that I would have decided to have the unit repaired instead. I paid $2900 for a PTAC unit that retailed under $1000. So I paid $1800 just to have the old unit taken out and the new one installed into the existing cutout and existing sleeve and grill. Then all they had to do was plug in the new unit into the existing outlet, test and calibrate the unit, and then they were done! I could have purchased the PTAC myself, swapped it with the same model,and saved myself $1800! The technicians that came were polite, courteous and very efficient. I realize that the price was all inclusive. But that is the price that would involve cutting a hole through the wall, installing a sleeve and panel, and putting in an electric plug to power the unit. Unfortunately, I didn't question the price since they don't provide itemized estimates. So I'm just going to have to suck it up. I do have to say that I feel that I was "taken to the cleaner"....

I'd written a review about a toilet replacement on April 10th of 2026, for a replacement that was…read moredone a few days previous. They were pretty good, except an error in the toilet installed (wrong bowl type) was made, and they promised to replace it "as soon as their supplier restocked". It's now May 15th, more than a month later, and not a peep from them. Since they said that I'd gotten 'the most popular model', restocking shouldn't be any issue. After a time, they were good to their word; changed out the "wrong" toilet for the perfect model that fit my needs. The installer was fast, polite and friendly, and they waived the second installation fee, charging only the difference in cost between the two. (The new toilet is far surperior to what I'd had replaced, as well!)
