If you are healthy, you may go there for a National Geographic documentary about water buffaloes. This office is laughable. The doctors are subpar, but I am not even going to write about that anymore. We do not expect great service here, but then you should not be charging the same as other doctors who actually provide good medical care. You are not even close. Why are you charging the same amount for this kind of substandard, below-average, inferior healthcare service? Now, this review is about the front desk. Others have written plenty about the doctors. It seems they forgot to write about the front desk, so this review aims to fill that gap. You have got to love the front desk. If you replaced them with a couple of fast-moving snow monkeys, the patients would probably be happier. The monkeys would not be able to solve any problems either, so at least there would be no loss of service, and there would be some entertainment while you guys make us wait 45 minutes or so. To be fair to the snow monkeys, unlike you guys at the front desk, after a few weeks of training, they might actually start solving some of the problems. My lil' friends, I am not sure if you are doing this as charity work, but I assume they actually pay you a salary. We are not asking for miracles here. Nobody expects you to perform surgery at the front desk. Answer the phone, pay attention to the patient, and occasionally solve a basic administrative problem. We can start there. If avoiding work and being incompetent were Olympic events, I am fairly confident this front desk would bring home a medal.

I have been coming to Family Healthcare for almost a decade I think. I was very surprised by the…read morelow rating so decided to leave a review of my experience. Throughout the years, I agree with a few of the reviewers in that administratively, Family Healthcare has gone down. Previously, I did not feel as rushed and interactions seemed more personable. I can only assume that maybe they have more patients now and may need better front desk hospitality. I kind of feel many doctors offices in the area are becoming this way. There is a general feeling of over busyness leading to administrative inattentiveness and longer wait times. I also think this happens at offices where providers are highly sought. So why the 5-star rating? My rating is based on the individual provider. I would rate Dr. Rita Sharma a solid 5 stars. I wish she still saw patients at the Olney office which I feel was more organized. She is always willing to pass on the knowledge she has and is personable. She is also very familiar with other specialist in the area and can direct to you one who has the experience needed for any medical issue you have.

During each visit, I have tried to give the front desk staff the benefit of the doubt, recognizing that they may have had difficult interactions earlier in the day or may simply be having a challenging day. However, my repeated experience has been that the front desk staff could demonstrate more professionalism and courtesy. They do not consistently greet patients when they enter, and the question, "Are you here for an appointment?" is often delivered in a flat and unfriendly tone. As a result, I have felt unwelcome and uncomfortable, as though I should not be there. Simple courtesies such as saying "hi", "good morning," "please," and "thank you" would also make visiting the doctor's office a better experience. I believe additional training in professionalism, customer service, and common courtesy would help improve the patient experience.

I had an extremely unprofessional experience at Comprehensive Primary Care - Germantown today. My…read moreappointment was scheduled for 10:30 AM. When I got stuck in heavy traffic, I immediately called their call center. The representative clearly informed me that there is a 15-minute grace period and that if I arrived before 10:45 AM, I would still be seen. I rushed and arrived at 10:43 AM. When I walked in, the front-desk receptionist was outside in the hallway on her personal phone. She came inside 10:44 AM. I explained that I had an appointment, had already checked in online the day before, and had also notified the call center that I might be slightly late. She took my ID and insurance card, then at 10:46 AM told me that I needed to reschedule. It honestly looked like the front desk receptionist had no interest in doing her job. Instead of following her own office policies or showing basic professionalism, she seemed perfectly fine wasting patients' valuable time. She acted as if rescheduling people was easier than actually helping them. It's clear she has no understanding--or concern--for how valuable someone's time is, especially when the patient followed all the instructions given by their own system. This was completely unacceptable. I arrived within the grace period, I communicated ahead of time, and still I was turned away due to staff negligence and lack of professionalism. This office needs serious improvement in customer service, accountability, and the way they respect patients' time.

If she hadn't…read moretaken the time to listen, and process all of the information, I wouldn't still be here today. In 1991, when I was 16 years old, I was experiencing a number of strange infections. At once point, she pulled my mother aside and said "your daughter has a severe ecoli infection in her vagina, and she doesn't have a fever or an elevated white cell blood count, and that isn't normal". Unfortunately, my mother (for reasons perhaps only a psychologist can help me with), blew it off, attributing it to just normal growing whatever, but Dr. Zarick was insistent that there was something wrong (and that I needed to follow up with my normal pediatrician). This is significant, because as the years past the problem became worse and worse, my infections more extreme and scary, and as doctors kept asking me about my past, I slowly started to remember...'wait a minute, there was this one doctor at Centreville Urgent Care who was very concerned about me...' And then when I finally got my hands on some of my old records, there it was--yeast infections, bronchitis, strep throat, and of course the ecoli infection i cultured positive for without the corresponding elevated wbc seen in most normal people... She was working at the Urgent Care, but if she hadn't taken the time to think about what was going on with me, and alert my mother (a conversation they had in the hallway outside of the room I was in, which thankfully I overheard), I wouldn't be here today. She was the first physician to know something was wrong, and speak up about it. When I stumbled upon a more recent review written by a patient of hers that said the same positive things I felt about her, I was very glad to read she's still practicing medicine with the same heart and soul she had back when I was younger.
