We were referred to him after a traumatic experience at our daughter's dentist, where an adult molar was mistakenly pulled instead of the baby tooth that needed extraction. We were sad very sad the day we learned Dr. Bobby Sears our daughters' dentist, my friend and client had passed away (May 14, 2016). Bobby was a special man, he cared and had the biggest heart, he made all the kids laugh, some cried but would soon laugh, Bobby was too good to be true, but he was true.... Now what do we do.... we had a PAID IN FULL contract with Bobby for our daughter's orthodontia treatment, she was almost half way through the treatment when Bobby passed suddenly. It appeared we would have to start a new contract and pay a new dentist to finish what Bobby had started. We were told to contact Dr. Kravitz in Ashburn VA that he was taking Bobby's kids, we almost didn't go to Dr. Kravitz as I thought why drive to Ashburn when I could find a local dentist here in Reston....WE ARE SO GLAD we made the first trip out to see Dr. Kravitz. We walked into a new beautiful office, all new and shinny, great tile work, everyone friendly and smiling...laughter was heard in the back. Dr. Kravitz was very nice, spent a lot of time with Lulu that 1st day and then we all went to his office to discuss his plan for Lulu. Dr. Kravitz was so nice, so friendly, his office staff were the same, I decided in my mind we had found Bobby's replacement but what was Dr. Kravitz going to charge us?? After the meeting, Dr. Kravitz and I shook hands and I realized he never mentioned the cost of his services, so I asked.... Dr. Kravitz said "no charge" I was shocked.... Dr. Kravitz had just laid out a plan that would take 3 years of visits etc. and there was NO CHARGE!! You see, Bobby was Neal's friend too. Neal said all he wanted in return was for us to pass on his generosity to others and to tell a few people about his practice. So anyone out there looking for a "free" orthodontist for their child just tell Neal Kravitz -"Bobby sent me!!" This is a review for the One Loudoun location but the same applies to the South Riding location. I first heard rave reviews about Dr Kravitz from my sister-in-law, and a neighbor. We continued to send our older child to treatment at a closer orthodontist, but we decided to change for our younger child. Not only was Dr. Kravitz more affordable- and flexible- he truly made us feel like part of the family. He is a humble but incredibly efficient and kind provider. He spends the right amount of time with his patients, and carefully checks assistants' work. He even doesn't mind if you contact him through his personal Facebook page if you're having any issues (such as a popped wire from a 13 year-old eating a rogue Dorito on a Sunday afternoon). I've never seen a doctor with as much energy, and gleaming with joy to be doing what he's doing. He is truly passionate about giving his patients a beautiful and healthy smile. Even with 2 little ones of his own, he works tirelessly - which may be why he wears running shoes. He gives back to, and is involved with, the community he serves. Offices are clean, modern, and well decorated. The aforementioned older child had a problem with puffy gums, and when Dr. Kravitz performed a laser gingivectomy on him (and did a superior job compared to his prior orthodontist), Dr. Kravitz was incredibly patient and made him feel very comfortable despite the rather large needles that had to be used for local anesthesia. All in all I can't say enough positive things about Dr. Kravitz. In 40+ years of going to doctors, dentists, and orthodontists, I have not seen a medical provider quite like him. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Kravitz to everyone I know, and then some. There is a reason he is a frequent speaker at orthodontist meetings and contributing writer to dental journals. Living in South Riding, Dr. Kravitz's reputation for quality orthodontic work and as a genuinely nice guy proceeds him, but I had no idea just what a saint this man (myth? dare I say, LEGEND!?!) truly is. I reached out yesterday morning with an endodontic emergency (I needed a double root canal on two of my molars) and not knowing where else to turn at 8:00 AM on a Saturday, sent him a Facebook message after seeing his response to another community member to see if he had any way of helping me out. While I ended up getting in to an endodontist later that day, he responded to my message saying that he'd be happy to help in any way and the let him know if I needed anything further. Fast forward to this morning (Sunday) and the temporary filling on the root canal teeth had a sharp edge that was badly irritating my tongue. I sent him another message and he immediately responded that he'd be in his Ashburn office from 10-2 today and to stop by anytime. When I got in, I was warmly greeted by Dr. Kravitz wearing comfy track pants and a sweatshirt that said "Fueled by coffee and kindness". He ground down the sharp edge, polished it smooth and kept making sure that it was just right before sending me on my way with a smile! Dr. Kravitz's kindness has not only brought me relief, but has really inspired me to spread the kindness. Dr. Kravitz for one is an exceptional, caring and very generous Orthodontist. My daughter got her braces on yesterday 11/05/15 and the very moment we walked into his very beautiful Ashburn office, we felt pleasant joy and kindness from every staff member. When the dental assistant put the braces on my daughter's top teeth, Dr. Kravitz had to check them before they were cured/or placed permanent. His positives words to his assistant were "stunning, just stunning". He has a personality that shines and promotes positive energy in his office. I am so glad we have this opportunity to work with such a caring, positive, knowledgeable and generous doctor. If I could give more than 5 stars, I surely would because Kravitz Orthodontics is beyond exceptional! As an adult I was reluctant to get orthodontic treatment but as soon as I met Dr Kravitz I knew I was going to do it because he instantly made me feel comfortable and positive about the whole process. Kravitz Orthodontics SAVED US!!! We called their office on an early Sunday morning expecting to get an answering machine....Instead, it was Dr. Kravitz who immediately answered our call and told us to come straight to his office. We arrived at the South Riding location and Dr. Kravitz along with his amazing team worked magic on my daughter's traumatic injury. We left relieved, with a plan in place going forward to get her broken front tooth fixed and realigned. We were able to leave Kravitz Orthodontics the same day with her smile left intact and with both of us comforted. We cannot thank Dr. Kravitz enough! He is an Angel who walks among us and his entire team are heroes!! If I could give 10 stars, I would! Hands down, BEST ORTHODONTIST experience we have ever had! We have been going to orthodontists for a combined 9 years and oh how we wish we had crossed paths with Dr. Kravitz sooner! 9 years ago we had been referred to another Orthodontist in the area that started off great for us, until about 4-5 years in when that doctor decided to sell his practice and then the transitional phase of ups and downs and several changes in ownership and management and staff took a toll for the worse. The quality of their service suffered greatly and our trust in their work declined rapidly. When we decided to get a second opinion with Dr. Kravitz and his team we could not have had a better experience from start to end! Everyone was so welcoming, accommodating, professional, helpful and happy. We always had heard nothing but the very best from many of our family friends that have been seeing Dr. Kravitz & team for years and now we know and understand why! Yippety do da, yippety day! What can I say about Dr Kravitz and his very knowledgeable and professional staff!? We enjoy our visits. They are quick and easy and they know their stuff. They gave us good pricing, and a free cupcake, so how can I complain! My 10 y/o started off with an expander (totally freaked me out) but they were great during installation and how to turn it etc. it really was no big deal, turning that thing. Then that came out, and on went the braces, and it was a great easy process. THe best part - my son is a bit whimpy when it comes to any kind of dental work. He starts whining if they even look at him holding a toothbrush. Anyway, they've worked with him along the way to build up his confidence so he doesn't freak out as much anymore. At one of the very first appt. Dr. Kravitz worked with him slowly and carefully, in order to keep my son's stress level very low. it was sweet, and just what my son needed. It's been a year since getting the expander on, and at our next visit, all the braces come off!! Woo hoo. And, Dr. Kravitz said he really thinks he won't need any "phase 2 work" at all. (Phase 2 comes after puberty, after all the teeth are in.) He says he's got all the room he needs now for upcoming adult teeth to grow in nicely. Way to go Dr. K! read more

In the fall of 2014 I had a dislocated jaw (which I didn't know til my jaw start breaking down on me) I didn't get emergency jaw surgery til the beginning of 2016.. and the surgeon that did the surgery recommend me to doctor Kravitz. From the first day I went to Dr. Kravitz office til the day I got my braces off his staff and himself treated me like family I have not felt uncomfortable when I sat in the chair to get my wire change or when they put poweechains on or tightening the wire or putting rubber bands on or fixing broken brackets. At times I had to reschedule my appointment because of my job but Dr. Kravitz and his staff worked around my work schedule. He gave me gift cards because he knows I have a long ride home I drive three hours and fifthteen minutes without traffic for my appointments. Yeah I could of went to a orthodontist back home but they told me I had to wait 3-4 months before they see me but when I went to doctor Kravitz he said he can see me within that same week and that's all I needed to hear. I don't mind driving 3 hours plus hours because the service your getting its the best of the best in my opinion. If I had to do this all over again I would still choose. Our family has lived overseas for the last 12 years. During that time my son had orthodontic work done. We are back in the USA now and his permanent retainer came unglued on one end. I called several orthodontists in NoVA who wouldn't even see him without his full records (not sure where those even are). One clinic in Fairfax told me over the phone that they could glue it back in place. When I arrived there with my son, the clinic required an on-site panoramic X-ray and 6 other bite wings before they would even look at the retainer. They refused to accept the x-rays from 6 months prior. This was obviously a ploy to bill for unnecessary services. I was most appalled by the demand for unnecessary radiation exposure. A friend whose son had half of his orthodontic work done overseas recommended Dr. Kravitz. She told me he was the only orthodontist who would continue treatment of her son's braces without starting all over. Dr. Kravitz made himself available for my son immediately and provided amazing care without unnecessary x-rays. The clinic is clean, modern, and extremely well organized. Rarely did anyone sit in the waiting room for more than a couple of minutes. Dr. Kravitz and his team are pleasant, friendly and incredibly welcoming. read more

With our large family I have had the opportunity to engage with multiple medical practitioners, including dentists, and orthodontists. I looked for a new orthodontist after my older children received reasonable unfriendly care with someone else. When I found Dr. K ten years ago I knew we would never use anyone else. Dr. Kravitz has treated my two youngest children and myself with the most attentive, precise, amazing care. He is what he says he is: conservative, affordable, and ethical. I cannot recommend an orthodontist more highly. We have done both Invisalign and braces, and he is exceptionally knowledgeable with all of it. He has gone above and beyond providing extra orthodontic work/repairs/retainers at no cost, has tremendous patience with teenagers that are non-compliant, and always with a kind word of encouragement. His staff is the same way: friendly, helpful and dedicated. Dr. K runs his office with professionalism, kindness, humor, and trains his staff to be the best that they can be. If I were looking for a job, I would love to work in his office, the whole atmosphere is amazing. If there were a higher rating than five stars, I would certainly give it!!! I didn't believe orthodontists like Dr. Kravitz existed! I'm new to the area and was out to lunch with my 4 month old baby when I broke my permanent retainer on a Sunday afternoon. I had wire sticking out of my mouth cutting my tongue and lip. Being a new mom I thought I'd just get some dental wax and wait until I have more time to get it fixed but as the day progressed it got more and more annoying. Finally on Sunday night I messaged Dr Kravitz Orthodontics on Facebook thinking I would get a response on Monday but nope! They responded to me right away! They took me in Monday morning at 9am, fixed my broken retainer, and polished my teeth all while my fussy baby was in the stroller next to me. (Last minute sitters are hard to find and they said they didn't mind!) I was in and out in less than 30 minutes and there was no charge for the fix. Because it was a simple removal of the bracket on both sides Dr. Kravitz said "this isn't something we charge for." I left in shock. I'm from NY and orthodontists like Dr. Kravitz don't exist there. He is an unicorn orthodontist! I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Kravitz and truly appreciate his kindness and generous spirit. I will certainly return for any future orthodontic work. read more

Our oldest daughter had been in braces for over a year before we went overseas, and then another three whole years while overseas (so yes, over 4 years in braces at this point). We were frustrated. Upon our return to DC, we went back to our original ortho near our home but didn't really think he was listening or cared because our daughter's mouth and jaw weren't cookie cutter. Upon our neighbor's recommendation, we traveled the 40 minutes to see Dr. Kravitz. It took a while to get an appointment...but after the visit, I can understand why. Dr. Kravitz personally brought us in, listened, took x-rays, then gave us his diagnosis: our daughter's teeth were perfectly fine, her jaw was short and would potentially need surgery, but for today, he was going to remove her braces, get her in retainers, and we'd be out the door. We didn't know what to expect, but it was one of those rare instances in life where everything goes a good as one could hope. He made my daughter feel special, complimenting her on her teeth and smile, throughout the "consultation". I nearly forgot to mention he did this all at no charge. We have three younger ones and when the time comes, we will be making the trip to see Dr. Kravitz again! read more

It isn't often that you walk out of an orthodontists office feeling like a million bucks. I mean, let's face it, braces and other oral appliances/procedures are expensive. So, typically, you feel like the opposite... you (or you kiddos) have a mouth full of "stuff" you never wished to have, and a much lighter pocketbook. Leaving Dr. Kravitz office is different. You feel like you made the right decision, and you don't have to worry about any "gotchas" coming in your near future. You sense that Dr. Kravitz and his team genuinely care about people, he's going to be level and honest with you, and he's going to make sure that the goals you set for your ortho plan are met at an extremely fair and reasonable cost. No surprises. You sense all this and feel confident because it's true. When things don't go according to plan, Dr. Kravitz will make it right! Your retainer beaks? No problem - he'll fix or replace it, no charge! Bracket came loose Friday night? Ok, come by first thing Saturday morning, no charge! I could write so much about Dr. Kravitz and his team that probably nobody would read it. He is the best. Suffice to say, if you want your kids teeth to work & look right, start early. We did, and we were so glad. Initially we hesitated, because we knew our circumstances would make it tough to afford braces. Dr. Kravitz really knows how to look for creative solutions. Our daughters teeth were growing in very rapidly and crooked. Our son's were growing very slowly, but into a mouth way to small, and was starting to have dental issues. By starting earlier than most parents would think, we were able to not only get ahead of it, but make it something we could afford. Even after they should have been "done", Dr. Kravitz will do whatever he can and go out of his way to make sure they are perfect. As a business person, I also really admire his skill as a manager. You can see why everyone on his staff is so good. He is ever training, commending, supportive, and helpful to them. Dr. Kravitz and his staff are second to none. I never thought I would be able to afford to put my children in braces. I initially took my kids to the consult just to get an idea of how much money I would need to start saving because my husband was without a job at the time. The care and concern given to me during the actual appointment brought me to to tears. I have never encountered a more genuine man. His staff worked out a plan that would work for us on the financial side. This is literally unheard of in any medical field. I can not fully express how much Kravitz Orthodontist has changed my life. I hated my smile, and taking the plunge to finally do something about it was effortless with them. From the moment I went in for my consultation I felt completely at ease. Dr. Kravitz showed me all my treatment options and gave me every bit of information I needed to choose what was best for me. They had a payment plan so it was affordable and easy to track, I knew exactly what was happening at every appointment and his staff was exceptional. When I had emergencies(that were normal such as a broken bracket) all I had to do was call and they would get me in immediately. Dr. Kravitz even came to pull out my expander when it was giving me trouble on a early Saturday morning so that I didn't have to be uncomfortable all weekend. My teeth came out better than I could have ever imagined. I actually went home once all my braces were off and looked in the mirror and cried I was so overwhelmed with happiness and gratitude. Another, but our family's 1st, "Dr. Neal Kravitz is a superhero disguised as an Orthodontist" story. He's been our daughter's Orthodontist for just over a year and we've not had any need to call on him after hours but have read how he's rescued MANY others. Well, last Thursday was our turn. My 78 year old father was visiting from TN and helping my husband do some work around our house when a large panel fell onto my father's head causing his teeth to smash into each other. His front 2 teeth were very obviously chipped/broken. As we've just moved down into Fairfax, we've not yet chosen a dentist and had no one to call. Except Dr. K! I immediately had my husband call his emergency number knowing he'd helped hundreds of others in situations like ours. And he did! Not only did he fix the chips and cracks, he smoothed out some other rough spots (just due to age) and sent him out looking better than before the accident!
