For the last 14 years I have loved this office for both my kids (now 17/18). We have gone every 6 months and for the last few years I was told they were "watching" a few spots in my younger childs teeth. Last week we were told we needed to go see a general dentist - since pediatric dentists won't fill adult teeth and it was time to get a few of the spots filled. My son has 7 class 2 cavities - we now are going to exhaust our benefits, spend a ton of money out of pocket and he has to sit through 3 sessions to have them filled. The first was today and the dentist said the they had been needed to be treated for years....there is no way all 7 showed up this large in the last 6 months. he also apparently grinds his teeth and has no enamel on some of his molars - this was never addressed with me either. It is awful to watch my child deal with this after doing all the right things for the last 14 years. read more

Wow! I am so impressed with this pediatric dentist office. The front office staff, specifically Tony is who I spoke with on multiple occasions, were friendly, professional, and accommodating. The dental hygienist, Neia, was so sweet and great with my 2 year old son for his first visit. Dr. Val is great. She is kind and caring and provided helpful tips without being overbearing or judgmental. The office is clean and beautiful. They are definitely taking COVID-19 precautions and keeping people out of the lobby until a chair is ready to take them directly back. There is plexiglass at the front desk. Overall this was better than I could have hoped for with my son's visit and we will continue to use them in the future. We had a Friday-night emergency when one of our three year old's teeth came out after being loose from some trauma. We happened to find a helpful webpage from NOVA Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics describing what to do. I scrolled through, called the emergency number, and left a message. Less than five-minutes later, Dr. Woo gave us a call, FaceTimed with our daughter and walked us through our options. She was incredibly helpful and checked up on our daughter through the weekend! I have been taking my kids for a couple of years to Dr.Woo and it pains me to write this. The front staff is very friendly, and so are the majority of the dental assistant but the office manager, Donna, was awful at communicating. Dr.Woo previously caught did a filling on my daughter and she was in pain after that. We took her back in and she said the filling was fine and didnt find anything wrong. Fast foward another week shes still in pain, and I took her to another dentist and he said the filling was loose and she was developing infection. He reccomended Intake her back to Dr.Woo and get the filling redone ASAP. I call the dental office and Donna, says they cant see her untill Friday unless someone calls and cancels. I call them that night and said it is so criminal that my daughter has to wait en extra 4 days in pain and she has to wait for cancelation. Like really??? You couldn't call one of your patients who has a cleaning and switch them around? They call back the next day saying they can see us that morning, and Dr.Woo refilled her cavity, after coming in and yelling at me and crying saying I'm ungrateful for what's she done. The staff never called after wards to check if my daughter's infection cleared up or is feeling better. I'm appalled at their behavior and it's really unfortunate everything turned out like this. Would reccomend this place for just cleaning, not so sure if dental work after that experience. Both my kids are now traumatized and in search of new dentist. read more

If there were more stars, I would give NOVA Pediatric Dentistry a 10. Tasha is my sons dental hygienist. She is very sweet, gentle and patient. My son is afraid of getting his teeth clean and also afraid to sit on the reclining chair. However, Tasha has her special ways to get him to open his mouth, and since he does not like the recliner, Tasha cleans them while he is standing. Everyone there, from the moment you enter the office are very cordial. The doctors are also very knowledgeable, patient and friendly. I highly recommend NOVA Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics. If you have a child that is extremely afraid or has had a bad experience with other dentist give this office a try. I am 45 min away from the office, however, it is worth the drive when my child leaves smiling instead of crying. read more

We loved this practice! We were patients of both Dr. Val and Dr. Courtney and they are two amazing, brilliant and competent​ professionals who are excellent with kids! From the front desk to the dental assistants to the coordinator and financial representatives, the entire practice is flawless. When we had to move to Chicago midway through our daughter's treatment, Dr. Courtney offered a referral for us to her former dental school colleague. Our 4 day old daughter had a severe tongue and lip tie. Dr. Val was able to evaluate and perform the procedure on the same day. She was so caring and texted us throughout the day asking how she was doing. LaQuinta was very knowledgeable as well and explained how to perform the mouth exercises she would need after the procedure to keep the skin from reattaching. Pains me to say this because i do like Dr. Woo & Dr. Courtney as PEOPLE. But as dentists and orthodontists, I can't say the feeling is the same. I've gone to this dentist the majority of my life, from when I had my first dental check up, to when i got my braces off. I had obtained a facial scar from this dentistry back when i was an infant and still have it to this day. On top of that, I had always assumed that my mouth just has a plethora of issues that others don't. But after talking to 4 different dentists that's not the case. Every dentist i have seen since being a patient Dr. Courtney has asked "where did you get ur braces done?". Implying that they were done incorrectly. Yesterday i had to get jaw surgery and the surgeon pointed blame onto who did my braces. He pointed that they twisted my tooth is such a way where they broke 2 of the roots in half, causing an infection to form that almost called for holes to be drilled into my neck to let the infection ooze out. Again, as individual people, Dr. Courtney and Dr. Woo are good people. As professionals who deal with teeth, they're the bottom of the barrel. read more

Dr. Val and her staff are awesome! I was nervous about taking my little one - who was 1.5 yrs old at the time - to the dentist but they are great! I have to restrain myself from asking if they babysit :D The office is open, bright and child friendly and they use kid appropriate words to explain what will happen during the cleaning. I can't believe this place still has openings and not a waiting list. They never try and push anything, and always have your child's best interest in mind. The fact ortho and dentist are combined makes for seemless care. It's all women in the office, which as a dad, I totally respect. In 3 years I've never questioned their recommendations. We have twins and went to several other establishments who saw flashing dollar signs when we walked in. Not here. Professional, sane and logical. I'm a special needs patient of Dr. Val's. I love that I always get to pick out my toothbrush and toothpaste that you take home with you in your goodie bag! They also have so many flavors of toothpaste to pick from when it's time for the dental assistant to clean your teeth! I also love that I get to watch TV while I get my teeth cleaned! I got to watch Cupcake Wars my first visit and Chopped today! Then, I'm focusing on the TV and not on the teeth cleaning and I am totally relaxed while the dental assistant is cleaning my teeth! Nova Pediatrics Dentistry represents everything a pediatric dentist office and staff should be. The consistency and competency of the staff is truly amazing. The ambiance of the office is tailor made to make children feel comfortable, important, and welcome. After multiple visits you will notice that all staff members are held to the highest standards of professionalism. I have never witnessed any employee having a 'bad day' here, only smiles and attentiveness. No detail is overlooked. They have multiple flavors for cleaning teeth to a wide selection of popular kids movies that the patient can watch while in the chair, and a token for a prize for the child's choosing at the end. You can have all the things that children like, but its the spirit of each member of the staff that creates an atmosphere where the children hardly appear anxious. These children actually appear as if they like going to the dentist. You have to see this with your own eyes to believe it. Nothing else in the area comes close to comparable. Dentistry should be painless in and out of the chair and that is exactly what they do for both the children and the parents of the children. If I could give a 6 star rating this would be one of the rare times I would want to. read more

Just so very impressed. From the front office to the hygienists and assistants to the fabulous Dr Val and Dr Courtney - they are all simply amazing. Everyone is so patient with the kids and take time to explain everything that is happening. Just a wonderful experience from scheduling to knowledge about different insurance companies to the clinicians and the extremely talented and intelligent doctors. Love the concept of having orthodontic care under one roof! Unfortunately, a move is taking us away and we certainly wish that wasn't the case.
