I really like that this whole place takes you back in time. It's a major trip back to the 90s, and then early 2000s with the DVD sets in the back. I came here for cassette tapes, and it was a little difficult to find at first. It's a little disorganized at first glance, but then you realize that everything is organized in its own way :) Their staff did point me eventually to where the cassettes were and they had a ton! It was great rummaging through their collection. We did have a funny/interesting encounter with Bob himself in the beginning. He was very accommodating, especially because I'm quite short. Always making sure I have a stool when I needed it :D I'm not used to big personalities, so it might take me awhile to go back again, but I really appreciate the vast selection and the fact that this is local. read more

Bob immediately interacts with everyone and always has a lot to say; always off beat and quirky with wit and humour. Some people find him a bit too much but that's because it's difficult to keep up with his antics and energy. The guy just has a lot of passion and it shows in his business and interactions. I love coming here even tho I'm an introvert because I feel welcome and there is a LOT to see here in the store. He's got different formats of music and video which caters to analog and digital worlds. 110% support his local business and hope he stays around for a long time. read more

Absolutely LOVED this place. Bob is a character and I can get why some people may not get him, however, we watched one customer ask for some space and Bob happily gave it to them. Upon arrival we were instructed to place our bag in the blue bin at the front of the door. There was also a sign showing customers where to place their beverages, complete with hand drawn circles. Next, a sign told us to "Not just stand there -buy something ! " This entire set of paint-by-numbers style of retail sales techniques left me amused, inspiring me to snap a few photos. The person working snapped at me "what are pictures of MY shop doing on YOUR phone ?" To which I replied they were for Yelp. I told him I got a kick out of the signage, to which he grumbled something about trolls ...? I offered to delete them if he wanted, but he calmed down and said it was fine. The space inside was huge and the inventory massive. After McLeods books ( see review ) I was suitably impressed at the organization and merchandising. The prices were really reasonable on the albums and CDs I looked at. We didn't have much time, as my husband was on his way to another collectables shop. As a hobby He buys and sells comics and cards, so we noticed his sign regarding people who want to try to sell to him, that basically said make an appointment and pre pay 25$ before he will look at what you have ( due to people wasting his time) Before leaving I asked "what's the name of this place?" to which he pointed at himself "Krazy Bobs !!!!! " sounding a bit put off .... So after reading other reviews - people either love him or can't stand his attitude. I thought it was funny, the signs he had all over, like the one stating to Buy not just read "This is NOT a Library!" Hehehehe I totally get where he is coming from. He says things many people think, but don't have the balls to say. Although I didn't purchase, I defiantly will return to check things out more. I was amused and he definitely left me thinking about him and the shop which is way better then a shop making no impression at all, only to be quickly forgotten. read more

I've been to Krazy Bobs twice. The first time, he asked me for I.D. At the time, he wasn't even at the counter, he was in the corner sitting between the stacks of records. After that, I did a quick lap around the store and left. The second time was on the day I'm writing this. I walked in and I wasn't even 10 feet in the store, he asked if I picked up a card, I asked "what card?" then he proceeds to tell me that he'll give me a card, in which I told him. "don't worry about it." I began to head back towards the door as I didn't want to be in there and he kept telling me he'll give me a card and I kept telling him. "don't worry about it." Right when I was opening the door to leave, he hands me a playing card from a deck of cards with the name of store and address on it and said "here's your card" I ended up throwing the card away because I didn't want it. I don't know the purpose of the card or if I was supposed to give it back if/when I made a purchase. I just wanted to check something out and do a quick lap around the store. I was uncomfortable being in there. First impressions matter and this wasn't a good first impression. No wonder it took me a long time to go back. read more

Totally disappointing. I had just driven from North Vancouver, a 1 hour trip in traffic, to riffle through the vinyl collection in search for some specific titles. I needed to use a bathroom; too much tea in the morning. "No, the bathroom is full of stock. You will have to use someone else's establishment, down the street," was Bob's response. Really? a shop which claims to carter to collectors who typically spend the better part of an entire day in their shop which does not have bathroom facilities?! I can name 3 top record shops in the lower mainland all of which provide bathroom facilities. After all, the object should be to keep paying customers in your shop, not chase they down the street to another. Next, onto the quality of the vinyl stock. It was poor... emmm... bordering on bad. It was the same tired collection of items long ago thrown out or otherwise relegated to thrift stores. I had several artists and many titles in mind and Bob didn't have any of them. None! Zero! Ziltch! Nada! Don't get me wrong. Bob has a * LOT * of records. They are just not worth anything as no one in their right mind would buy them. Bob would do well to melt down 90% of his stock of vinyl to be used to press some good re-releases of good quality music. I kept looking, desperate to find a couple of titles so as not to have wasted an entire afternoon. I located a couple of John Mayall and John Hammond disks which looked promising. I asked Bob if he had a turntable so that I could verify the quality of the items, which totaled $40 mind you. "No," was his reply. "We have only the store player." What?! So you expect me to pay $40 for 2 disks which I cannot even test?! All of the aforementioned establishments which sell quality vinyl have turntables which patrons can use to listen to their selections before putting down their hard earned cash. I begrudgingly purchased the records on pure faith. I paid in cash as the debit machine was closed; full taxes with no discount. I left the store in search of a bathroom. But that's another story. This place used to kick me out when I was a bored 16-year-old looking for some records claiming their business insurance didn't cover under 18-years-old without a guardian present (is that even a thing?) and 10 years later not much has changed. Don't get me wrong, this place is overwhelming. The sheer amount of records, CDs, old video games, comics, figures, and VHS is staggering, The organization leaves a lot to be desired. It feels like walking through an episode of Hoarders where boxes might tumble down around you without the slightest disturbance, although it IS meticulously alphabetized. However, it's definitely more quantity over quality. There's not a lot here that you'd actually buy. It's like a collection of records/games/etc that exist yet very few want, so they end up here. When my boyfriend stumbled upon an out-of-print CD that he was actually interested in, he was not able to buy it because they have a $15 minimum for card purchases and there is no ATM in sight. I don't know how they stay in business when they act like they don't want or need your business. As for the owner himself, some people might find his "quirkiness" endearing, I happen to find it passive-aggressive and a bit condescending. Also, I REALLY dislike being followed around & asked whether I'm finding everything OK twice by 3 different employees. An extremely unwelcoming environment. read more

Bob is, and always has been a wonderful person to deal with. Going through his store is an adventure every time I visit, as new clocks, frogs and other cool weird items show up randomly. The record selection is MASSIVE, and one can spend hours flipping through hundreds of thousands of titles. I for one am extremely happy places like this still exist, as it makes a rainy afternoon that much more enjoyable! read more

Bob is a nutty guy but very kwirky in is own sense, one time I was in looking at some NES games and he offered me an apple if I could answer his riddle correctly but sadly I answered wrong and no apple was won. Awesome selection of NES, SNES, Sega, and old school games for the gamers out there. DVD's, cassettes, VCR tapes, and records just flood the store and the comic section is pretty snazzy too. Wacky vinyls and more... Benn at Krazy Bobs a few times now. If you are looking for older vinyl records this is a great place to go! If you are looking for newer stuff from yr favourite indy band, not so much. I have walked out with some great Neil Young, Beach Boys, CSNY and more LPs. There are a boatload of old NES, SNES, Genesis, N64 etc etc titles, and lots of cassettes and CDs if those are your thing too. Depending how much you spend , you also get to pick from a mystery bin... I got a Miami Vice soundtrack, a Burton Cummings solo album, and a Boston Pops Symphony records for free today. I can't believe nobody's rated Krazy Bob's! An institution for bored high school kids and serious listeners who don't want to venture into the city. I get a strong rush of nostalgia whenever I go back there. Good deals on records (though prices have risen as of late, perhaps due to the high school kids growing up and moving their business to the city), very casual atmosphere with a hilarious decor, plus Krazy Bob himself to recommend, guide and encourage. Albums are organized effectively, selection is broad considering the location, and records are usually unmarked with good clean covers. Tape and cd selection is always worth looking at, but I usually devote myself to the vinyl. Definitely worth a visit. read more

My buddy's and I were looking for records around Langley and came across Krazy bobs. I liked what I saw but when I walked in my friends were asked if we were over 18 and immediately told us he can get us stuff but we must leave the store, we did absolutely nothing wrong and we even greeted him asking how his day was, but we left disappointed that we couldn't find any other record stores near by that had a good selection and we immediately get kicked out of the closest one, pretty disappointing if you ask me. People who give this place a low rating probably aren't the type that appreciates what it has to offer. It's a labyrinth of hidden treasures in the form of record albums, comic books, DVDs, CDs, games, clocks and a varied assortment of pop culture collectibles. Bob, the proprietor of this unique establishment, has a creatively expressed way of interpreting life and he enjoys sharing some of his artful and honest perspectives with the customers. His intelligent and unusual sense of humour - some folks may find a bit off-putting, but that's a matter of taste and also it's what makes this place so much fun to visit. Just relax and enjoy the ride. You never know what'll happen and no two visits are ever the same. It really is an entertaining experience to shop here and if you look hard enough, you'll certainly find a treasure. There is some great product in here, but they aren't interested in selling any of it. It is downright dangerous inside, there is far too many boxes jammed in there to even see what they have in stock. I am SHOCKED that the Fire Marshall has not stepped in yet. They are never open when they say they are, and generally treat their customers like trash. It is like they are genuinely sabotaging their own business. In dire need of some retail intervention, I would estimate that between the hoarding, horrible merchandising, poor service, and difficulty in living up to their posted hours, they are probably only selling about 20% of their potential. Today I went elsewhere for some vinyl after waiting 45 minutes after their posted opening time. While I waited, I probably saw 20-30 other customers pull on the doors and leave. Great place if you're looking for some old vinyls! I recently bought a record player at a garage sale and was surprised of how few places still carry records. Thrift store was one (but most of it is old crap nobody's heard of) and Krazy Bob's was the other place in Langley. There are tons of records here. Bought $75 worth of vinyl here on day 1 (the doors, mamas&papas, van morrison, neil diamond, rolling stones, beatles) and for every $10 you get a free bonus record from the BONUS SECTION. This was pretty neat because you're forced to pick from music you don't normally listen to. Lots of NES/SNES games here and even VHS! Guys that work here are exactly what you'd expect working at a record store from the 70's. One guy looks identical to Napoleon Dynamite except with a tie-dye shirt. Will be back for more! I love coming here. He has a great selection of older vinyl. if you're looking for newer releases, as in stuff pressed after the vinyl era ended a couple of decades ago, maybe you won't find what you're looking for. if it's pre-1985 or so you should be able to find what you want. He's a collector - there are Legos, video games, VHS tapes, comic books and action figures in addition to records. It's hard to stop looking all around at all the cool stuff. He does not want you to take photos in there, and will be very direct about telling you. It's his store so he can do that. read more

I apologize for the delay in getting this reviewed as I am still catching up on over 60 local reviews that I am doing here and there, therefore, not everything can be realistically done in real time. I am apologizing 'cause this was the one, amongst the other booths at the show who were really awesome. I was tempted to review every single booth at the show, however, upon discussion with my bestie we are going to concentrate on the awesome booths, especially since we do not want to burn any collecting bridges for the upcoming fall show. His collection of vinyl is enormous. ..but thats not all.. toys..vintage video games..toys...set aside at least 30 minutes just to marvel in all the little trinkets and items throughout the store. I could get lost in here for hours. The pricing is very good and Krazy Bob and his staff are a hoot. His collection of vinyl is amazing. It is worth the drive out to langley. I just have to remember to check the vinyl for scratches as I have bought a couple records and got them home and realized they skip quit a bit. But that is my fault not theirs. Entering this establishment left me feeling like I was on the set of Conspiracy Theory starring Mel Gibson or Hoarders Buried Alive. If you are the least bit claustrophobic, this is the last place you want to be. The range of items here is astounding and there is an essence of Garage Sale on Steroids to it. Attempting to move down an aisle that would make a submarine seem palatial was a gymnastic exercise to rival a game of competitive Twister. It was impossible to tell staff from customers until I approached the front counter, at which time I felt like a Trump supporter in Anaheim, being herded to the alter of the front counter. Yes they have lots of stuff, or more accurately, way to much stuff for the size of the location. I am actually surprised the fire department in Langley has not forced them to clean up. Or maybe the inspectors are lost somewhere among the piles of stuff. read more

I would not shop here if I were you for two main reasons: 1) the records are egregiously overpriced for their condition and 2) Bob himself is terribly rude. To start with reason 1...I have experience purchasing records and I know a VG++ or EUC condition record when I see one. In an endless sea of vinyls, I would bet my money that not one of those exists here. On average, the records in his store are scratched to a point that renders them practically unplayable, and records of highly sought after albums and artists are sold over $30 despite this horrible condition...and forget about finding a decent quality record from a decent artist that isn't $50-$60 plus. Unless you want to listen to Sesame Street's greatest hits, you won't find a quality record for a reasonable price (let's face it...that record would still be $30 if it worked). You are better off finding a specific record on eBay, which is what I did. Second, Bob is very rude and it was very unpleasant being in his store as a shopper. I was carefully handling and inspecting the records with my fingertips only touching the edges, and he would be staring me down as I did so. He came up to me and corrected how I was supposed to put the records away, as if he cared about the integrity of his records - they are all squished together and piled on top of each other in the first place, not to mention the quality issues I outlined above. Then he proceeds to hound me about my age and say "if you're under 17 you need a parental unit with you." I was 19 at the time and was with my even older boyfriend who had to vouch for me so I wouldn't get kicked out just for being there. I won't go into detail exactly how for confidentiality reasons, but Bob is personal friends with someone close to me so much so that he should actually recognize me - when I told him who I was when he was being rude to me, his only response was "Oh. You changed your hair." Needless to say I will never be going back because while there may be cool things to look at in this store, once you see the prices and the experience the service there are absolutely zero positive aspects that would warrant even stepping foot inside. read more

As for comics don't get me started, too expensive. I'd rather go to abbotsford and buy them at value village, at least there I can make $50 off the ones they have if I buy 8-10.
