This place has really gone down hill! The staff is friendly and helpful, but the rooms and equipment are old and run down!! We had a room for 4hrs and we spent most of our time waiting for the staff to fix the remote, sound (muffled) and video (pauses and static). I think if it wasn't Aunty Lani's phone etiquette I probably would have skipped here. I was looking for a place to host my birthday shindig and for some reason although I don't sing karaoke unless borderline drunk, I figured we could all just relax in a room and eat and drankkk and maybe sing. The option for Karaoke with private rooms are limited on the Leeward side and I wanted to just pick somewhere convenient for everyone. Soooo.. here we are. I lucked out the times I called.. like I said, Aunty Lani was extremely friendly and just so informative so I was more than happy to come here. Come the night of my party, check in was no problem but they do hold a $50 cash deposit (they hold on to your ID to), they didn't tell me that over the phone but luckily I had some cash with me, they do give it back at the end granted you don't trash the room. THE LARGE ROOM DOES NOT HOLD 18 PEOPLE!! I don't know how they came up with that number but there was only 12 of us and we were comfortable but had 1 or 2 people shown up then we would have been crammed in. Numerous rips covered with Duct tape on the seats made it uncomfortable for the girls not wearing long pants, apparently the bathroom was filthy, TYJ I didn't have to use it bc my friends mentioned it looked like a public restroom. One of the girls that work there was just a jerk. I can't say she ruined our experience but lucky for her we were all pretty buzzed and mellow bc my friends could be extremely mouthy but spared her, especially bc they don't mind confrontation. She just gave off a vibe that she hated her job and like we were bothering her bc their POS system kept shutting off. Overall, like I said.. karaoke isn't my thing I just basically paid for a room to get drunk in lol BUT I would skip this place next time. Paying $150 for a small room but calling it a Large seems a bit much considering the facilities were not the best and their employees like to pretend they're doing us a favor by supposedly doing their job. The three things I can give this place is that they have a good song selection, the resonance in the rooms make your voice sound better than normal and the controls on the karaoke system are pretty good. Other than that, it's a sh*thole. Walking down the hallway to the front door, which is totally hard to find as if they don't want people to actually go there, makes you feel like you're walking into the ghetto. Or you're about to make a bad drug deal. The entrance is so shady...I was grossed out by the door and thought whoa I think we made a bad decision in coming here. BUT, we had a good time once we made it to our room. Three stars for letting us bring our own food and drinks, not trying to make $$ off of food/drink sales. The most off-putting thing of the whole night, besides needing to wash my hands after opening that front door, was that two-minutes before our time was up, the girl busts into our room, and says very robotically, your time's up. She starts emptying g the trash and rushing us out of there. She said the next group is already waiting. It was the rudest thing ever. We all were like, so they allow zero leeway for the transition between groups?? WTH?! We rushed to pack up our food and as soon as the table as clear, she sprayed and wiped it. The room was officially ready for the next guests and she announced it to them as we all walked down the ghetto hallway behind her. Wow. Lastly, the room reservation requires full payment and it's nonrefundable. What a crock. We were blessed to go there because my Aunty and her friends had already paid and then an emergency came up so they couldn't go. Instead of letting it go to waste, she asked us and we happily obliged. But would I put money down on a room there myself? Uh, no. We did have a blast up until the last two minutes tho!! Wow, I'm in awe at Krazy Karaoke for having the worst customer service over the phone. I just called to inquire about possible dates and times for a reservation to celebrate my Fiancés birthday. Whomever answered had the worst attitude and was very rude (seriously using nicest words to describe her) Not once did she even show concern or show anyway that she wanted to help me. I simply asked if there was the biggest room available to rent in about 2 weeks and she just bluntly told me "no, it's booked from 8-12." So I said okay, is there any other time available and she came back with a really sassy remark of, "like I said before its already booked". But I was confused because she only said it was booked from 8-12 p.m. What about before that? She then with a sassy voice said "how many people do you have!?!" I told her that I had about 15, but I wanted the big room. (Just in case I had more guest) she then said "You CANT HAVE more than 18 people, we only allow 18 people!!!" Seriously like yelling at me. Then I told her I understand that, that's why I wanted the biggest room. Of course she repeated "I already told you it was booked." I figured after that remark I was getting no where and didn't even want to ask for another date or prices for the rooms. I've made many reservations there for my companies celebration along with other birthday parties that I've planned for friends. NEVER, not once did I receive service like I did today. I have been a Manager in Customer service for over 10 years and I would never allow my associates to ever talk the way she did regardless of the situation. Very disappointed!! Calling to get a reservation on a Sunday around 830 p.m. A lady ( I should address her as a little girl) pretty much was was rude from the get go. No manners what so ever. When I tried to ask for information, She just pretty much cut me off, explained how there's no rooms, didn't even let me speak, said bye and hung up! I don't know if it's cause she didn't want to take any more reservations for that night or its cause she can't get laid. All I got to say is very bad etiquette phone and customer service. Smh!! Arrrggh. This Krazy makes me CRAZY. I used to be a regular here back when they opened years ago. Our group would get a room every few weeks. Once the one on Young Street opened we stopped coming here. But some friends love to sing after UH football, so we started coming back this year. Here's my spread... Price - 2 stars Parking - 3 stars Equipment Quality - 2 stars Song Choice (med and bigger room) - 4 stars Song Choice (small room) - 1 star Staff - 1 star Restrooms - 1 star The price overall is alright, rates are higher depending if its a weekend or if its after 6pm. But overall worth it for the self imputing karaoke system, no need to take paper to an attendant, and easy to cancel random songs. There is usually plenty parking, just not too close. So if you have bunches of food or drinks to bring in, drive to the ramp and have some one walk it in before you park. The sound systems are alright, no really blown out speakers, and no issues with mics. The song choice for the larger rooms is pretty good, there is a new song book with music through the current month. As well as books by song name and artist. My issues and reason for my 1 STAR RATING are with the following things: The small room had major issues with the song selection. First it doesn't have all the songs as the larger rooms, and second half of the songs we tried to put in that they did have wouldn't work. When we asked the staff what was going on they said, the machine was malfunctioning, but didn't move us to another system. Their solution was to tell us to keep trying songs until one worked. Their staff is no longer the helpful ladies from a few years ago. Don't know if I just come on the wrong day, but these women were extremely rude. Once we were finally shown to our room the attendant glared at us and yelled that we'd better keep our drinks away from her books. We literally stared at her in shock at her out burst. It was as if she expected us to total the room. And even if they start you late, or they have to restart the machine if it malfunctions you don't get your time back. Last note, be wary of the restrooms, they are filthy and most of the stall doors don't close/lock. Sad but this once great business is a place I will no longer go. read more

I've been to a few Karaoke Lounges and this was a big disappointment in comparison to others in Hawaii. The song choices are old and not up to date. I appreciate the oldies but it's more fun to mix it up. Our karaoke system also randomly shut down on us so when we asked the attendant to help us, she asked us what we did and we honestly did nothing. This is a review of the room that we had at the Pearl Kai location. Went over there for a friends bachelor party. What I like about the place is that you can bring your own food and beer/liquor. They do provide ice for you if you need. The room we got was the one all the way in the back. It was really large and spacious. You can easily fit 50 people in there! It wasnt hot, the AC actually kept the room cool. The TV screen was really large. THe system wasnt very difficult to operate. I guess the only thing that I thought was cheesy, is that occasionally the system played some type of commercial between songs. What for? We are already there, theres no need to advertise your place! Setting up and cleaning up was fairly easy! I read reviews of the smaller rooms and based on what people said about the rooms, I would definately like to see how small they are! Anyway, our party turned out great. It was more about getting the guys together before our friend got married. Felt more like a reunion. Me and the bffs USED to love this place, but our last few visits were absolutely disappointing. On our most recent visit, we got a small room (supposedly for 4 people) and it was the size of a hotel bathroom! Add in a cooler of drinks and a few plates of food on the tiny table, there was barely enough room to navigate through the room. Microphones didn't work half the time, and the speakers made popping noises and were clearly blown out. Not even 20 mins into our karaoke session, we all agreed that there was a strange smell in the room. After looking around the room for a few minutes we all stood up and took a whiff of the couch. Ewwww, it smelled of dried up beer and pee! So we asked the gals in front to switch us to another room. The staff here are really nice and are aware of the "faults" of this establishment so they upgraded us to a huge room in the back. But then the karaoke machine in this room wasn't working properly so we were moved AGAIN. Holy moly, thank goodness it wasn't a busy night...how many rooms do we have to go through until we can actually SING? Anyway, third time is a charm right? Well, kinda. It was another large room, but at least the machine worked, and the couches were clean since it wasn't upholstered in cloth like the first one. Half of the seats were duct-taped as Sarah M. mentioned, but it was only the four of us so we just sat on the ones in tact LOL We ended up making the best out of the night but swore that we'd never go back again. Prices are pretty high considering the place is super outdated and run down. Parking is also an issue at this location, most of the spaces are taken up by the surrounding restaurant patrons and 24 hr fitness clients. Five stars! Why? Can you say half off Monday's!?!! And because It's my own personal opinion and I always have a blast when I come here. It's a great place to relax and relieve stress. My sister and I go here a lot and like a lot of other people in the reviews the Aunty in the front know us by first name. However I guess it is a hit or a miss with some people but for us it's always a hit. Complaining about the books? They updated them so hah. Lol but yes it is about time but you can also do your part and not flip through the books with wet hands or on a rage. o.o The service has always been more than exceptional for us. Really lol. When we walk in we were always greeted by smiling workers, even before they knew us by name. Yes sometimes the machines would stop and they had to reset it but they did compensate us for the missing time by adding on 5 minutes or whatever time was lost. Idk, some people say they don't get compensated for the lost time it takes? Maybe they are pressing all kinds of buttons they're not supposed to lol. Who knows. I've always had a great time with the best service. Sometimes, we even get upgraded to larger room for free if they make a mistake on their end. Overall, I love going to this place. Time to update. It may seem a bit out there to give five stars but this is my personal satisfaction with this business and I understand your experience is not going to be the same. I personally always have an amazing time when I come here, never any problems, the workers are all awesome. To start, since I've been to many karaoke spots on the island, I can honestly say I prefer two places over the others: Krazy Aiea and GS Studio. Krazy Aiea is a bit grungy "looking" but it's clean. It's not like they never mop or wipe things down. The location is old so things are considerably worn but nonetheless, it gets cleaned. I've seen the mics and other things get wiped down but I'm not sure what it was they were using to clean it. Personally I've never smelled anything funny from the mics but you gotta remember that they were near people's mouths--people that have been drinking, eating, etc. I do advise for your own protection and for the protection of others, don't be putting the mic so close to your mouth that you can actually smell it. Up the mic volume if you must and hold it further away. Next up: The books have all been recently updated, they have laminated covers and the old beat up ones were thrown out. Little known fact: Krazy has a Japanese song book. I use it all the time, every time I go. They seriously need to get on the K-train though because if they start having popular korean karaoke songs, I think business would boost greatly. As for the standards on the policy for specials: I have been coming here longer than most patrons, I believe. It's been at *least* a decade. For the college special, I've always been asked to show the sticker that says what term I'm in. It makes sense and quite frankly, people can abuse the special and use an old college ID for who knows how long if they never checked. Don't blame a business for common sense standards just because it makes it difficult for you to get something special. If you ran a business too, you wouldn't want to be losing money on every tom, dick and harry with an old college ID. Think from the other side of the fence, people. Interjection: they're going to start calling me Tara "the vengeful reviewer" soon. Swinging down my righteous hammer of logic.... In line with that, I want to talk about the service. There's cultural differences one should keep in mind when judging someone. I've never had any problems whatsoever with service here and I've come enough times to meet everyone that works here. Here's what I have to say: try to be open-minded and mindful about your own perception when it comes to ANYONE you are judging. When I very first started coming here on my own, as in making my own calls for reservations rather than my friends, I too thought the person on the phone sounded a bit mean. I was uncomfortable at first, but when I came in, the person was actually quite nice. I recognized the voice. Seeing a smile though while hearing the same tone made me realize this person was not actually giving attitude over the phone. I also ended up seeing her pick up the phone to take reservation calls and I heard the same tone, but I really didn't feel that attitude was intended. That's just her tone. Hawaiian and local-kine aunties, sometimes they can speak kind of frankly but they're not necessarily being mean. You know how you try to speak overly nicely to someone you just met but when you have familiarity, that tiptoeing is gone? That's pretty much the best I can explain it in a nutshell. It's a tone of familiarity and can actually be considered respectful that someone speaks that way to you. It doesn't always have to mean that someone is out to disrespect you. Sometimes in our culture, we just talk that way, that's all. I'll admit, I'm a little more lax than most people. I don't go around to places and expect everyone to be reverent to me because I'm a customer. Despite that, I've come to know the difference between someone just being a grumpy grump versus having a frank tone even though they're actually not intending to be rude. All of the workers here have been nothing but sweet to me and my parties in their own way. It's not "bright and chirpy," but nonetheless, it's respectful. I'm not related to any of them, don't know them outside of this business and yes, I've been coming here for years but that also means I've been here enough to see how the employees interact with other customers. I've never observed anything rude and I stand by my original rating. This is a comfortable atmosphere for a great time; they have my Japanese songs, the equipment is still working pretty well after all these years, no one's ever been mean to me, I've never had any ew moments, the price is on par with other karaoke places and Mondays are the best nights--HALF OFF! 3 stars for the facility, but with the right crowd it feels like a 5 star experience (averaging out to a 4 star rating)! We booked a "large" room (18 people max) for a Friday night ($50/hr). The service I received while booking and on the night of the event was great! Very friendly and helpful. They were also very willing to work with the schedule so we could extend our time because when didn't want to stop singing. Unfortunately the facilities and equipment are very run down. There are rips in the seats and I kept getting stuck on the tape where they tried to repair it. Our system had to be reset a couple of times, eating into our precious singing time. They don't have the most comprehensive song list, but the classic karaoke songs are all there. They do have a selection of Japanese songs though. But once you get to the well lit foyer, it's all good We got our room, and almost instantly... we knew our whole party wasn't gonna fit, so the wife asked the friendly lady at the desk if we could be moved, and she happily obliged, which I thought was pretty good, as it was a busy Friday night We definitely filled our room to capacity with a table load of food, and coolers filled with spirits and soft drinks. We probably should'a left the leaking cooler home, cause by the end of the night, our floor was slippery as all hell. We did apologize to the staff as we left, and they kindly said ' Eh, no prob we get that all the time'! The sound system was on point, to where it made us "ALL" sound good... thanks... I need all the help I can get. Maybe the dogeared selection books could'a used some replacing, but hey.... can you imagine just how many times they were looked through. At one point I guess someone pressed the wrong button, and our machine froze, but again one on of their friendly staff came and unfroze it with a smile and "Eh, no prob, we gettum all the time'! Other than the dumb-ass leaky cooler, and the one frozen moment in time, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. And the best part - the system is super easy to use! You can bring your own food and drinks into the rooms - just remember to clean up after yourself! There is so much parking available, too. Not to mention how friendly the staff is there! There are special rates throughout the week, like military discounts, student discounts, birthday discounts - call them and double check before you make your reservations. I do wonder if they sanitize the mic's after use because some of them smell really funky. I can't stand it. I want to bring my disinfectant spray and clean it ewww. First off, let me say that Aunty Lani is the absolute best! Very understanding and friendly. My co-workers and I were talking about having a Karaoke night for a long time, so we were thrilled when the time had finally came. After making our deposit, schedules changed and we had to re-schedule. You have 7 days before your event to re-schedule (which we didn't realize at the time) and we ended up calling 6 days before, I wasn't looking forward to the $25 dollar fee. However, Aunty Lani was super understanding which was great and the fee was waived. Our new date turned out to the be day of the Hurricane warning, so I had to call again to re-schedule and I was little scared to be charged a fee. BUT, once again Aunty Lani was very understanding and was more so concerned about everyones safety. I can't quite remember, but somewhere during this time I upgraded my room to a larger size. It was out of the way for any of us to go in to pay the difference for our deposit, so Aunty Lani let us pay everything else in full once we showed up for our reservation the night of. Overall, everything was great and we had a blast. (We've already made reservations for our next outing!) On a side note, not everyone is as friendly as Aunty Lani, but I really can't complain. If you're looking for deals, this is the place. Definitely call to ask them about their different deals throughout the week. They have student discounts, military discounts, etc. read more

If its the Genki work group, we got some crazy baller singers and a huge group of like 35. If its high school friends, we got like 10-15. No matter what, aunty is accommodating and always ready to help with technical difficulties! The song list goes back a looooong ways! I really like how the selection is quite good ranging from your rock hits like Journey's Don't Stop Believing to You Give Love a Bad Name by Bon Jovi. Been here numerous time and always had fun. I guess it also has a lot to do with the people you come here with. Its a small hole in the wall and yes the rooms are really tiny. Even airplanes have more leg room. But I have to say that they do have an extensive music list and a lot of new songs! I hate when I go sing karaoke and they only have the old fut slow Hawaiian songs. Not that I dislike those mind you but just not what I want to sing after having a few beers, otherwise I'll fall asleep. They close at at 1 (I think haha) and they will remind you about 20 minutes before hand. But beware they will just shut the karaoke machine down to basically give you the hint to get the hell out. You must clean up after yourselves, which you should do automatically. Since beer cannot be sold after 12 at stores, their policy is no open alcohol or bottles etc. when you ready to leave. We got one of the big rooms for $30/hr so not too bad i guess, esp if you have a few people to split the cost. The seats were a bit uncomfortable and kind of sunk in on one half of the room. They have a good selection of songs but some of the numbers that we tried to input didnt work. The workers there are okay. Theres also a $10 deposit if you want to use their bottle opener. read more

Great karaoke place on the central/west side of Oahu. Parking can be limited to the gym next door and food places in the area but there's usually parking in the surrounding lots. I've been here multiple times with friends and co-workers and I've never had an issue with the room sizes. The largest one (room 9) was very spacious and open - the setup is great if you have a lot of people and planning to bring a lot of food and drinks. The ladies at the front were very nice and they were able to fill our coolers with ice for free. You can also borrow a cooler from them with a $20 deposit that you get back when you return it. The songs are not outdated but also not the most current such as current top 50 billboard hits. But if they were hits from 6-7 months ago, most likely the books will have it their. Their books are categorized by songs and artists. I would recommend reserving a room at least a month in advance. They get filled up pretty quickly especially for big groups. read more

I went there with some co-workers and had a blast! The workers were so nice to us and were very helpful and funny too. We actually ended up staying until closing we had so much fun. Yes, I was worried at first because from the outside it seems sketchy (and their Elvis in the front kinda startled me), but it's really nice and clean. The speakers are pretty good, and they have many songs to choose from, (according to the books were last updated Feb 2012) they even had Avenue Q, which really shocked me lol! Also, there is a small book that has popular songs from 2014 and 2013 (Yes, the have Let It Go from Frozen). They even have a book of Japanese songs but the lyrics are not in romaji, so only pick those if you know it by heart or can read characters. I can't say much for the parking though as I carpool with others so that might be iffy, but it was a huge success as we got the usually stoic and reluctant ones to get up and sing. read more

We've usually received friendly, sympathetic service from the front desk staff, whether it was helping us with a tech issue with the karaoke machines, reserving a room, or simply checking us in. I had a birthday here recently, and the woman at the front desk looked genuinely delighted when she the made the connection between my Fourth of July birthday and my name. Indifference, there was not! I live in town, but I still like this location because it's central for my friends and family; many of them live in the western reaches of the H1. This Krazy has a terrific selection of songs. I'm always surprised to see how up-to-date their contemporary selection gets, with the latest top 40 and alternative hits. Of course, they have tons of classics, as well. They even have whole sections of Filipino music, gospel tunes, and local songs. Great deal on birthday celebrations--when I went for my birthday, I believe it was one free hour with the purchase of two hours. krazy karaoke pearl city style! Honestly can't say i remember too much about this place. I was invited by a group of friends randomly one night. We felt like being active so we headed over to this joint. Do i remember great service? Not so much. Can i tell you how the parking was? No. Do i remember if the song selection was great? No. What i can tell you is that we were in a decent sized room, and me, my boys and Jaqueline H. wild night singing and drinking the night away. It was my first time here back on October 4 for one of my friends' birthdays. I can't believe I forgot to post this review because I honestly had so much fun there! Sure the equipment is a little outdated and the seating isn't 100%, but I didn't come in looking for high end equipment and upscale upholstery. We came to have a good time and we did just that! 4 hours went by so quick and you do have to leave the building by midnight which kinda sucked but there are sooooo many songs in their system, I'm surprised we kept our voices at the end of the night. You can bring your own food and drinks and they provide free ice! The staff is so friendly. When our system froze, they fixed it in a couple minutes. I hope they can one day update their machines but if you wanna have a good time, book your party here! If you're bothered by shabby seats, bring a towel or a blanket lol read more

After my brothers & 40 of their friends got a lil rowdy @ the Honolulu location, we started comin out here. It is identical to the location in the 'city' just on a much smaller scale. A medium sized room for 18 on a Sat night is pretty steep and I had to come down to the location before the night of to put down a deposit. That was more of an inconvenience for me but I guess that may not bother others. The positives are that there is always plenty of parking in the strip mall complex and there's never any drama with the patrons belting out their favorite songs off key. read more

Great service!! We had a last minute reservation for my sister-in-law's birthday, and we got a room for two hours but he got charged only for one hour! It was awesome, large room space, easy-to-use karaoke machine, and wide variety of songs to choose from. Even though the song list was not up to date we still had lots of fun jamming out to the oldies. Aunty Lani was a great help in setting up our reservation, squeezing us in even though they were kind of busy. BYOB and BYOF!! My daughter had booked a karaoke outing for her birthday. They advertise one hour free on your birthday. Well, I just paid the deposit for her. She tried to book it for her birthday, but the place is closed that day. So she booked it one day off. They said tough $^%{. No free hour because it is not her birthday. Am I off to think that is not cool. If I were the owner, I would give the free hour. More good will and aloha that way. I told my daughter we can always go someplace else since they were not honoring it. But she acted with honor saying that she had already made a reservation with them. So we kept it. Terrible Service, called a half hour before our reservation to inform them that we'd be running late, everyone knows that traffic in Hawaii sucks...and whomever answered had a very bad attitude from the moment she answered the phone! The customer service here is awesome. All the times that I came here, I've never been treated so wonderfully by the staff. I went there a few fridays ago for my friends birthday party. There were two younger girls working, and they both really sweet. Ill admit, the place looks a little beat up but there was mos def no smell. Lol. The books look like they been to hell and back, and could use some replacing. But they tried to give us some of the newer ones. At one time the music was skipping so we let them no, and one of the girls came in. She said sorry and that they were gonna give us our time back. She did something on the computer and no more then 5minutes later we were back singing. We did have plenty beer in the room, and I guess some of us looked young so they checked i.ds. Don't mess with these girls, they're on it. There was a few who werent of age so they had to leave. I didnt know them so i never care lol. But they werent rude about it, and we talking story and cracking jokes with us. Through out the night they checked in on us, making sure we had enough ice, took out our trash and jus helped us out when we needed it. I do wish they had some more updated songs, only get til june i think. Overall we had a great time, despite the worn out books and little pauses here and there. Even more, my girl had a great bday party. For what they lacked these two girls made up for it. We were so greatful, and really felt like they were treating us like VIP. read more

I love that they get along with happy customers. Workers are not grouchy, well maybe only that one time (i dont pay attention to names) but i would definitely recommend this place because of BYOB, and very convenience in location from where im from. read more
