When I called to get information for reservations, the lady was talking to me with an attitude, and I was only asking simple questions in a nice manner. Krazy Karaoke is one of the better karaoke places in my opinion. Five factors for determining a good karaoke place would have to be space or ability to accommodate, song selection, comfort of rooms, quality of equipment, and staff and service. Oops, let's not forget price. Krazy Karaoke does pretty well with all of those. The Pearl Kai location in Aiea isn't huge in terms of amount of rooms, so I would suggest a weekday for this one. The ideal time will always be during a weekday, daytime before six. You're going to have the best rate with more room availability. Now if you're going to reserve a room or extend past six, the rates will nearly double. That's why the more people (who pay), the better. If you're last minute and didn't reserve ahead of time always try anyway because you might get a spot. If not, the Young Street location has much more rooms. Quick note, I've always managed to get a spot on the weekend last minute at the Young Street location, but of course never count on it. Especially since it will screw me up if all of you do the same thing. Also Young has more rooms, but less parking. Pearl Kai has less rooms, but lots of parking. Selection selection selection. Krazy's is good as far as selection goes. They have a separate book for newer songs and they update it monthly. They also have a larger selection of older songs. Though there's always room for growth, anyone would be able to find a song they like. They have mostly older songs when it comes to local and Hawaiian. Miscellaneous categories are at the back of the book. You may have to experiment with certain songs that have multiple versions to find one that sounds more genuine and less generic. What we do is always try the one at the top first. Now for rooms. All the rooms have sufficient A/C and lighting. You usually can adjust both and lighting is usually analog and can dim for something more romantic (we're talking about songs). The doors block the loudness, but in between songs you can probably make out the song next door. Most rooms have comfy couches with the pleather/vinyl watchamacallit material which is good as it doesn't collect skin flakes, bacteria, or stains. Easy to wipe down and maintain. You are responsible for cleaning up after yourself which isn't a lot to ask. The great part is you can also bring your own food and drinks. They also have a sort of concession stand to buy last minute goodies for a less than bargain price. Equipment. So, it depends on the room. You may have to do some fine tuning with the knobs when you get in, but nothing major. The speakers and mic are pretty good. You are lucky if you get a wireless mic that's good. Remote system with song code input is a must and is the standard for Krazy's. God forbid there are any room style places that still have the old paper hand me in process. Cough...HMC (are they still in biz?). All the staff I've talked with on the phone and dealt with in person have all been nice. If you go enough you'll become friends with them. They do a pretty good job of calling you if you're running late just to remind you. They won't scold you or make you feel rushed. So, in conclusion, Krazy's is a keeper. Whether you're exploring your vocal abilities, or just living out you're own American Idol dream with your friends and fam as your audience, Krazy Karaoke is definitely a worthy stage for you to sing your heart out on. read more

There's a lot of restaurants in the area, so parking can be a hit or miss. Honestly I've never paid for coming here, or if I did, I don't remember. But typical to karaoke places, you can BYOB. I've been coming to this location over the past 10-15 years. I'm disappointed with the cleanliness and condition of the books and microphones. The last time I came here it smelled a bit bad and seem run down. One microphone was broken and the Karaoke code books were all beat up! I don't think I'll ever come back to this location again. The only thing I can say about improvement is that they stopped playing those dumb "commercials" in the middle of your Karaoke session. They should do that anyway because you are paying for the hour. I have been here multiple times years ago in high school and in college. Came here the other night with some old classmates. Thank goodness I was among great company since this place was so bleh. One of our classmates reserved the room and from my past experience and this experience the price is a tad bit high. We got there and the two ladies greeted me as I told them my friends were already in a room. The room is pretty spacious. I must say they do have a large song selection but I think one of the microphones was not working well. We brought our own pupus and drinks and it was pretty fun. The biggest peeve of mine was their midnight no alcohol policy. I mean it was such a bum trip and everyone kind of wanted to leave at this point. It was exactly at midnight when one of the staff barged in and confiscated all of our alcohol. Maybe it was just the way she did it. It reminded me of like those high school hotel parties where the police are called for noise and the cops make you throw out and pour out all the liquor. Horrible. The televisions are from the 90's and super dated. If you sit close enough the pixels are so huge that you can barely see the video and the words look a little blurry. Aside from that, the equipment was pretty easy to use. The bathrooms are quite gross and when I walked to women's bathroom I could see a dude's back as he was peeing in the urinal. There were no locks on the bathroom stalls either so I felt like I was chancing my life and the possibility of someone seeing my loins so I had to do the fast pee. Truthfully, I would probably never opt to go to this place again. Perhaps HMC down the street may be a better bet. read more

First time coming to Krazy Karaoke and definitely not the last. I came here with my friend Mina who frequents (since the super nice ladies at the desk knew her by name). As soon as we walked into Krazy Karaoke we were greeted by two ladies at the desk. They were very personable and were talking story with us while they got my friends student ID to make copies. As soon as everything was ready to go another lady showed up and helped set up the room for us. She remembered Mina's name and the fact that she always requests for the Japanese song book. I went in person several days before my karaoke party to see if I could reserve a room and was welcomed with exceptional service! Since I only wanted a medium room no down payment/collateral was required and they penciled in my name and number for the time slot. Check-in is 15 mins before your singing time starts but when I arrived early, we were led to our room right away and they even let us start singing early! They also have free ice if you bring your own cooler. I did have to go to front desk to change a microphone battery which they eagerly did and even remembered my name. Went here with a couple of friends and the equipment kept breaking down. The staff seemed OK. We had to go to the front desk to get the mic working multiple times. Okay first of all its all good for you locals looking for a cheap place to go to to throw a party for your friends. They provide a lot fo space and what not but let me WARN YOU! If you ask for a mop, the attendant will not give you one, she will tell you there is a broom by the room or down the hall. Then she decides to take half of our down deposit because there was spill sin our room (after i already asked her for a mop). WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE over the phone! I called to inquire about reserving a room. The first time I called, I was put on hold for over 6 minutes, then was disconnected. I called back only to have my questions answered rudely and rushed. I felt like I was bothering the lady that answered. I said that I was looking for a room for about 30-40 people and on what dates. She abruptly said, "No, we dont have that". I had to ask questions to clarify that they do have a room that could possibly satisfy my needs, just not on the dates I was looking for. Came here for my 22nd birthday. It was awesome! We were able to bring in our own food and drinks! The room was big enough for 11 people that we booked. The aunties were very helpful especially since we kept having technical difficulties with the screen and mics. I recently went here for a friends birthday in the middle of February and I can say this place hasn't changed at all over the years. The last time I probably been here was back in 2008. My friends and I always rent out the biggest room and it does accommodate a lot of people for a fair price. The variety of song selection isn't bad and has more than other karaoke places I've been to. The staff? I actually haven't seen them except for a quick glance. No hi, hello, welcome, thank you for coming. I would enjoy going to a karaoke place where the staff actually acknowledged me and my friends. Oh well. Also the bathrooms need A LOT of work. In the ladies room there are only two stalls. One stall the door couldn't even close properly. It felt really dirty. If you can hold your pee, I suggest doing so. As for the alcohol, don't expect to party too hard for too long. You can't drink after 11 or 12. I love Krazy Karaoke in Aiea...especially on Mondays (because it's half off). Aunty Lani is always so cheerful and greets us by name every time we go. The last I checked, the prices are cheaper than HMC and I like the fact that you can input your own songs instead of having to turn them in to an employee. Minus 2 stars because if there's someone in the room before you, you have to wait until they are out of the room and your time is already going. For example, if they're scheduled from 6-7 and you have the room from 7-8 your time starts at 7, regardless of if they're out of the room or not. So you could lose anywhere from 10-15 minutes of the time YOU paid for. read more

Very old. Rooms show lots of wear and tear. Couch was peeling and sagging, song books were ripped, rooms reeked of urine smell and the karaoke machine was not great. Song selection was massive, but the microphone kept going off and speakers were giving feedback. The staff was nice and accommodating. This place needs to be freshened up to compete with newer karaoke lounge. Price was okay. Spend extra dollars more to get 6 hourso in a newer karaoke place rather than 3 hours for almost the price. read more

I took on the task of arranging a company get together so we could all bond and send off a beloved manager. I knew everyone was a sucker for karaoke so I looked up a couple places and decided to give Krazy Karaoke a try. I called on a Tuesday expecting a quick call and easy reservation, but they're actually closed on Tuesdays. Weird. Anyway I left a detailed voicemail anticipating a call the next day. Nothing. Called and made a reservation with a woman (the owner?) who was super sweet and realized she had misheard my phone number and was calling some guy. Hilarious! She waived the deposit for the error which was awesome and locked in my reservation for that Sunday. Check in is 15 minutes prior to your reservation time and it was smooth. The two local girls working the counter were very nice and helpful. I was a little annoyed they asked for a $50 cash deposit (which I was never told about in advance) because I don't carry cash and had to go to the mom and pop liquor store down the block. They hold this until after checkout so they can check for damage in the room. Understandable. Other than that the room was fine - decent and clean with lots of books and up to date song lists. The machine was very easy to use and everyone had a blast. They have ice available at the front desk so that makes your BYOB experience easy. We all brought food and stuff and it was really relaxed. Definitely would recommend to anyone with a big party. Straightforward rates and centrally located. read more

Parking is tight since it's in Pearl Kai Shopping Center. Was disappointed they didn't have more newer songs to sing. I think last update was in May. Love that you can bring in your own food and drinks. Don't expect any decor over the top. It is a pretty dated establishment. Bathrooms were dirty. All alcohol needs to be out by midnight if you plan to stay till closing which is 2am. They are very strict about this. Service was friendly. We were in room 9 for a bachelorette party. It's their biggest room. It can comfortably accommodate 30 people. Couches and stuff are really run down. Lots of rips and they use tape on the furniture like there's no tomorrow. Sound system was ok. A mic we had kept crapping out on us and the machine would freeze up once in awhile. We called the lady in to help us like 3 times. Also no auxillary hook up in the system. My cousin got a stripper and he ended up having to dance to instrumental karaoke music. It was pretty hilarious. I think they should give you more leeway when packing up. It's way too rushed and the system cut off my song before I could even sing it even though it was supposed to be the "last" song. It's unfortunate there aren't much choices when it comes to renting private karaoke rooms on the Westside. Hopefully they open more soon cause I hate going to town. All I got to say it that this place is bad even for criminal jail cells. I can't believe this place is not shut down for the lack of sanitation. As soon as I entered the hallway, I knew something was very wrong.....It makes crackhouses look like taj mahal! Freakin place was so run down and dirty, they had duct tape on the chairs and cockroaches running around like they run da place. To top it off, none of the equipment was working for an hour in the room....wasting our $40.00. When we asked to be refunded for the hour that was wasted due to their negligence, they said that they would give me a gift certificate....Um...did I mention that this place gave me the creeps? I told her I want the entire refund for 4 hrs. because this place is very unprofessional and ridiculously run down. I got my refund and never looked back. Called in last Friday to reserve and a lady picked it up. I asked and communicated with her properly and I just didn't like how she responded to me.
