The best picture we could find was a 4X6 that was 30 years old and a little grainy. Old timey kine cameras weren't like digital cameras today and people just didn't take as many pictures back then. But I scanned it and sent it to him and he was able to enlarge and enhance it so that it was perfect and clear and looked like the sun was shining on her and her only. He was able to print and mount it same day! I simply cannot believe how blessed we are that Parish was able to deliver such a beautiful picture on such short notice. He even provided the perfect frame. Everyone talked about how good the photo looked and her best friend said it's exactly how she remembers her. Thank you Parish for helping us celebrate my Mom. We chose Makai Creative for our engagement photos and they delivered the most amazing photos and video short ever!!! As a systematically horrible photo taker (think chinese crested dog with bed head and), what they did was nothing short of amazing. Emily was a photography wizard and Aaron put together a video that was so perfect it looked like he cued a flock of birds to fly across. Emily made us so comfortable from the very start. We were super excited but also anxious because as I said above, we don't ever find ourselves in front of the camera and I'd say that I'm extrarordinarly un-photogenic. She gave us the cutest poses and her direction was clear and simple to execute. We took photos on the beach and in the trees, all are equally amazing! She really took her time with us, put us at ease, and delivered flawless photos. Aaron was also a miracle worker. He showed us where to position ourselves and the he ran a ways away (with an injured foot!) to get the perfect sunset shot. I think the photos will speak for themselves so I'll keep this one short and sweet. We only did engagement pics and had 2 locations: China Town and Waikiki Beach. The pics came out GREAT--magazine quality. We couldn't believe that was us in the pictures. Makes me want to get married again just so I have an excuse to hire him. Btw, meetings are done at The Wedding Cafe' in Ward, which is also where you pick up your photo CD/whatever you ordered when it is ready. George is also FAST on processing. We settled on Magic Island. We understand why it's dubbed Magic Island. George made us look like movie stars. He spent the entire afternoon with us and took several hundred shots. All of the shots were beautiful, and I wish I could have uploaded all the pictures to this site to give you the wide range of his talent, skill, and "eye." We were so amazed that there wasn't an option for our wedding. We knew we needed to go to Eclat for our 7/7/07 wedding. We planned it a year and a half in advance, and we were glad we booked the best as the vendor list dwindled as the event drew closer. Knowing we had a spectacular photographer for our special day made it even more special. George arrived at dawn to capture our traditional tea pouring ceremony. He followed us back to our hotel, then to the church to take our formal pictures. We then went to UH for the semi-formal shots with the wedding party. Then on to our reception. He spent the entire day with us, over 12 hours! All the while professional, intuitive, flexible, willing to do what we wanted, but allowing for his personal creativity and ingenuity to flow. When the 1800 shots came back, he helped us design our own wedding album. Imagine having to comb through 1800 shots to find those 75 that capture your special day. But George did it. The album was AMAZING. The turnover rate for the album was quick. Everything was done in a professional manner. There is nothing but professionalism that is emitted from George. As our family grew, we asked him to shoot our parent's retirement present. Imagine coordinating a family shot for 16 people ages 1 through 69. It was CRAZY. But he suggested a non-studio style shot and recommended Moanalua Gardens. I wish I could show you those shots. Remarkable. Breath-taking. Timeless. Anyone can take pictures nowadays. With technology and "photos-for-dummies" apps people can take pictures. Few can capture memories, the raw emotions of happiness, belonging, and love. Their portfolio was amazing and they possess tremendous talent in their field. The Alvarados are a husband and wife team. We worked with Jess only. At first it was akward for us because my fiance and I have never taken professional photos before and did not know what to do. She put us at ease, was laid back, professional and down to earth.
