For a birthday celebration we stopped by this Krispy Kreme and had the most delicious donuts. It has been ages since I've had a Krispy Kreme and they taste just like I remember. The staff is so friendly and the store is very clean. Would highly recommend for a treat any time. Thank you to all those working on the Fourth of July.

Only had the drive through when we went due to short staff. Ordered two strawberry donuts only to pay and figure out the strawberry donut was sold out. Would not have bought a three pack if I knew this ordering. Although the donuts are always amazing, and for short staff they did well with getting the order out quickly

Stopped by to pick up a dozen donuts and coffee... spacious and clean place.. place smelled good.. friendly staff... only taken on is my coffee was not as hot as it should be.

I stop by Krispy Kreme whenever I'm in the area and fortunately for my waistline that's not often. I've never encountered an issue here, and the staff works efficiently. This is one of my favorite places to get donuts. But what's going on with the prices? They have increased astronomically over the past few years.

My fave doughnuts in the area. Getting them here is the only way to go, do not waste your time at the grocery store. They do not carry all the varieties featured on the website but enough that you will surely not be disappointed. My faves are the kreme filled glazed. The glaze is enough to induce a sugar coma but adding kreme makes it over the top delicious. Truly a delight. My husband likes kreme filled too but he prefers the chocolate topped ones. I would do chocolate over the glaze but I am not giving up the glaze and my dream option is not available. I cannot indulge too much so I nearly always stick with my fave but the other varieties look delicious and other people seem happy with them. If you have any kind of a wait in here or you look especially drooly they will give you a free plain glazed doughnut. Yum. They also have a deal fairly often when you buy a dozen doughnuts you can get a dozen of the plain glazed for a mere 1.99 more. Yep they are that evil, I usually pass on the guilt and take em to work or send them to my husband's poor minions. If you want the best example of true Krispy Kreme heaven it is only found in one of their retail stores, the rest is pale imitation.

Don't go here when the light is on expecting a free donut... "we haven't given out free donuts in 2 years". Very disappointing.

La Bodega is a small Dominican store with groceries and prepared food. There are 3 small aisles of…read moregroceries - one with mostly drinks and refrigerated proteins, one with sauces and dry goods, and the last with some cleaning supplies. Towards the rear, there are racks of spices, a very small frozen food section (one freezer) and some produce. I'm guessing they don't actually sell any of the produce - it's probably just there as storage until they cook everything? The real magic of the store is in the back, where there's a small counter serving all sorts of delicious goodies. On a Saturday for lunch, there was a steady stream of customers picking up orders and eating. Just be aware that this is a family owned establishment that takes time to prepare food - lunch was supposed to start at 11:30AM, but they didn't have most of the menu ready until around 12:30PM. For people who are less patient, there is a prepared food counter with various meats and stews and a display with some fried foods. We opted for a couple of items: Fritura Mixta ($18.50) - Wow, this is a giant plate of fried meat and tostones. Deep fried beef, pork, chicken, longanisa, each one seasoned and drained well. Not greasy or oily at all. This is seriously a meat overload, in retrospect, we should have ordered a couple of additional sides because, to be honest, we aren't huge meat eaters. Still delicious. It took about 20 minutes to come out because everything was fried fresh. Cheese Bollitos ($2.50) - Think of a fried mashed potato croquette with a slightly different yucca flavor profile. These fried pastries aren't fried to order - instead they are probably fried in the morning and stuck in a heated display cabinet until they are ordered. They don't have the best crisp exterior and aren't exactly piping hot, but they are still good. Chicken and Cheese Empanada ($3) - These were definitely differently shaped vs. other empanadas I've had. Quite a long half moon filled with well seasoned chicken and rich cheese. Similar to the bollitos, these are not fried to order. We went back a couple of weeks later for some of the items on the dinner menu (only available after 5PM) that aren't served during lunch. It took around 25 minutes this time for the food to come out. Chimi de Pierna ($13) - This sandwich consisted of pulled pork, red cabbage, onions, and tomato on a super pillowy bun. The ingredients were heavily seasoned with a sweet and somewhat vinegery sauce that was quite similar to a bbq sauce. Be careful eating this one - since the bun is so soft, the ingredients start spilling out with every bite. Mofongo ($20) - Super garlicky, pretty classic mofongo mashed with chicharrones. Our meat of choice was additional chicharrones - super well fried with a great crisp and chewy fat. It came with two small containers of sauce that was not a normal mojo de ajo. It was limey, porky, very fresh, and paired perfectly with the carbs and proteins. I would definitely get this again. As a side note - they charge a 4% credit card fee. La Bodego is a great addition to the area. Definitely stop by to get some good Dominican food!

The owner is community orientated and likes to give back to the youth that need it. I love supporting businesses that put their money towards causes and initiatives that help build people up. You can tell the meals are prepared with love and aren't made with bulk ingredients instead they are all fresh and savory. I would highly recommend supporting small businesses and especially this one! Go in today to get authentic Dominican cuisine you will not be disappointed! I recommend the empanadas they are great!

He also mentioned pepperoni rolls, which I haven't had in a long time and Is pretty popular among folks in the Detroit area! The lady at the counter was fantastic with her Midwest welcoming approach! I order a loaf of fresh baked Italian bread along 3 pepperoni rolls. Counter lady mentioned to heat one up with cheese to eat on the spot! Which I did! Bread was soft and so tasty, reminds me of Cuban bread of south Florida. The warm pepperoni inside with melted mozzarella of the pepperoni roll hit the spot! I know why they are so popular now! All day!!! Tried a slice of the Italian bread too. Exactly how I figured it would taste but much better than any store bought! Places like this should always be around to create these great memories of good food!

The interior of the bakery is quite small - it only has enough space inside for a couple of customers. There are several small display cases with a small amount of various cookies and strudels, and one hot case with $1.75 slices of pizza. To be honest, the sweets and pizza don't seem to be very high volume, so I only went for their famous pepperoni roll. Double/Double Pepperoni Roll ($5) - Wow this thing is massive! Basically a huge 8 inch sub filled over the brim (literally - there were cheese shreds flying all over the bag) with pepperoni and shredded cheese. They offered to heat it up for me in the store, but I elected to take it home cold and heat up later. This thing barely fit in my toaster oven. Fluffy bread with salty and slightly spicy pepperoni and melty mozzerella. I ate a little over half and was pretty full. Delicious and cheap - what else could you ask from a pepperoni roll? You definitely can't go wrong with Jack's for the pepperoni rolls.
