While it was still nice this Sunday afternoon, my partner and I decided to take a drive to this newly open donut factory shop formerly a bank at Liberty Commons off of Route 17 South in East Rutherford. Upon arriving, we noticed the long line about 30 cars for their drive thru. Instead we chanced it by going inside and waited only 15 mins. We maintained their 6 feet apart distance. The place was all white and very clean. While waiting on line, one can see through the glass windows how donuts are made. At the end, there's a door called "secret recipe vault". Their signature donuts were displayed by the register for looks as not all varieties were available. We got a dozen consisting of boston creme, glazed, apple fritters and cruellers. The donuts were fresh but not warm. We highly recommend this place but use the walk in. read more

Ok, so if you like the more involved donuts like Boston cream and such, then Dunkin' is your chain. Why the 5-stars for Krispy then? Their plain glazed donuts are to die for. I suspect that they put cocaine or something in them, because they are highly, highly addictive. It is entirely too easy to eat entirely too many in one sitting, as they are both delicious and light. Once again, my suggestion is NOT to approach this with your usual Dunkin order of donuts. My opinion, for whatever it's worth, is that you'll be disappointed then. Their wheelhouse here is the plain glazed donuts, and that alone gets them 5 stars from me. And if you're new to Krispy Kreme and thinking, "What is this guy talking about?! When I saw this Krispy Kreme being built I was happier than a pig in s**t! Krispy Kreme doughnuts are honestly my absolute weakness and as soon as I saw they were open I hopped in my car and went to grab some. The location is rite off of rt 17 in Rutherford NJ and there is a drive thru! When I arrived there was a decent line but it moved quickly. I also noticed that the hot and ready sign was on so I was super excited to be receiving really fresh still warm donuts. I got up to the window and placed my order for a dozen glazed originals and ordered some of the other donuts as well like the New York cheesecake, jelly and a strawberry frosted. The donuts were still warm when I was handed the box and absolutely couldn't wait to dig in. I don't even think I fully made it out of the parking lot before I was eating one and it did not disappoint at all. It was a surprised early soft opening for Krispy Kreme  on Sunday 03/08 of their new East Rutherford store which also is a doughnut factory. That's because they will be making doughnut in full view of the public.   Krispy Kreme  has been on the comeback trail beside this shop they have been opening more shops in NYC. But this shop is near my home and I know I be here every weekend just like today to pick up fresh doughnuts. I got the new doughnut holes, which I g I never had them before, which only comes in the original classic glazed version in cups or in a small box of 24 at less than $6 and they tastes just like the big round cousins. Before I knew it I ate the equivalent of almost 3 doughnuts my brain just wanted more, more more. They also have a wide assortment of coffees and chocolate drink options as while as other cold drinks and of course dozens and dozens of flavored doughnuts in a many different glazes.   The shop looks small from the outside but it's way big inside and well-staffed to handle the constant flow of customers Plus they have a drive-trough window and just being right off route 17 I can see a line of cars coming in. Usually love to stop by this Krispy Kreme when I'm in the area. I always noticed the drive thru having constant lines as well as lines out the door. I think this time they closed out the drive thru window so we had to use the front door. I ordered ahead for pick up but there was no signage of where to pick up your order. A lot of people were on line to place an order but would have made a fuss if one cut the line. I think there needs to be better instructions to direct traffic so the whole purpose of ordering ahead is not defeated. Once realized that there was a separate line we were already inside and had waited about 15 minutes. I didn't receive an email that my order was ready but the cashier was able to retrieve it quickly. The donuts in itself are delicious and especially when there are bogo deals. I just think there needs to be better direction in this store. read more

Best doughnuts in the world! No wonder the line is always crazy. I wouldn't call any of the offerings speciality donuts, which is what makes it so great. Simple, classic flavors that always taste delicious. The original glazed is best eaten right off the conveyor or warmed for about 8 seconds. I also enjoy the raspberry, chocolate or vanilla Kreme filled. You can do a mobile order for the original glazed or a limited selection of the classics, which would shave time off the wait. The drive through is jam packed at all hours, so if you have the time, you might as well stand outside. I find that goes by a little quicker. read more

As a proud life-long New Jerseyan, one of my biggest pet peeves is that New Yorkers think the Statue of Liberty is in New York. It's in New Jersey; you can look that up! And now, as a proud citizen of East Rutherford, I'm already seeing our neighbors across the tracks in Rutherford claiming Krispy Kreme as their own. Hey, Rutherford, back off: KK is ours! I was one of the first ones to attend the grand opening of this Krispy Kreme location. I waited in line for about an hour that day, and even got to see the mayor - pretty cool! I ate five donuts while I was in the store, sampling a variety of flavors, and I loved them all. My favorites are original glaze, glazed chocolate cake, and glazed lemon filled. Those are the big three donuts from Krispy Kreme that everyone needs to try, in my opinion. I've been back a few times since the Ribbon Cutting, and the only reason I haven't been back more is because the line is always so long! I don't mind waiting every now and then though, especially in these times (Corona). I get to get out of my house, wait in my car with my heated seats turned all the way up, listen to a podcast or Sirius Radio, and wait for an hour and a half, until someone hands me three dozen donuts. That's a nice escape, and they don't even charge for the cost of admission! When you're in the area, make sure you swing thru the Krispy Kreme drive-thru. read more

Well who can say no to a fresh Krispy Kreme donut?! I know I can't resist and also can't just have one! I had recently stopped after hearing Krispy Kreme's newest promo of showing your vaccine cards and getting a free donut. (Btw you can go everyday and just show your card for a free donut. Not sure how long they are promoting this but it's a perk.) So I had gone into the store this time and saw where they baked the donuts as well as the display case of those infamous glazed donuts and all the different flavors they had. There was no line inside or in the drive thru. We decided on a box of 6 and of course flashed that vaccine card and for my free glazed donut. Our order was prepared quickly and was ready at the end of the counter. The service was fast and the employees were very friendly and patient. I did take a long time to decide on my box of 6 donuts sooo yes I will say very patient! And of course as soon as I got into my car...I ate that glaze donut. It literally just melts in your mouth! Their drive thru speaker/audio system is terrible. Worker could barely hear me even though I was yelling. Because of this my order was messed up, even though i ordered a half dozen the guy ended up charging for and giving me 7. LOVE Krispy Kreme always! This place is located in a convenient parking lot, just a few minutes away from the American Dream Mall. My family and I stopped there after our visit at the mall, and was struck with this amazing smell of yumminess! The place is clean, the staff is friendly, and you can even watch the donuts being made. I got three donuts for myself, and they were amazing! I wouldn't recommend to eat all the donuts in one sitting, because my oh my, were they filling! I would 100% go here the next time I'm in Jersey. read more

I am so glad this location opened up near me because I only ever get to experience krispy kreme when I take a trip into the city. I feel like I dont have to say much because it is such a well known establishment for soft, melt in the mouth, donuts. I recently went to try their new pumpkin flavors and got the pumpkin cinnamon and pumpkin spice cake. I preferred the cake donut because the other one was WAY too sweet. I also of course had to get 6 of their glazed donuts because they are just a must every visit. Drive thru is always crazy for this location! I haven't personally used it but sometimes the wait is up to 2 hours! Despite everything happening Krispy Kreme has done a wonderful job. The inside is always clean and the staff is friendly and they work fast. They've put up proper measures during this pandemic such as stickers to make sure customers are 6 feet apart, mandatory face mask rule, etc. I love being able to see the donuts being made. The process is such a joy to watch! Eating them is even better. Nice and fluffy - always fresh. I tend to go for their original glazed as I find them the perfect amount of sweetness. This place is a SCAM at this point! It was always overpriced but good. Then all of a sudden they changed the rewards program that doesn't really reward much and they did not translate the rewards "promised" into the existing progress instead they just credited according to their new method of "rewarding" which is laughable. Then also I noticed the donuts don't taste the same also noticed they went bad sooner than they use to. Now they had holiday donuts which are essentially the same donuts with a little decorative design on it and charge $0.30 extra per donut for it! (Was never the case in the past as well) I wanted to purchase a couple of gift cards to give out for the holidays and was informed I can only buy the gift cards in CASH! Is Krispy Kreme hiding money from the IRS? Doesn't this sound shady and weird for a franchise whose credit card machines were working (I paid for the 3 dozen donuts with a card) ?! After seeing the ridiculous line of cars for the drive thru on multiple occasions, I decided to try an assorted dozen. The interior of the store is very spacious and it's pretty cool how you can look into the doughnuts being made. After ordering, the dozen was ready lightning quick along with a couple lattes. Tried one in the car : a glazed sour cream, and wasn't feeling it, tasted incredibly sugary, and the dough, undercooked. Later on tried a dulce de leche, the filling was good, the doughnut, meh. Family had the rest of the dozen and agreed on the level of sugar. Pale in comparison to Doughnut Plant or Ducks Donuts, though the latte was good, as was the service inside. I am soooooo incredibly disappointed! The first time I went to Krispy Kreme was in NC with my hubs. He made me wait 2hrs for the hot light sign to go on. And once I had one I was soooo mesmerized by how amazing it was I told him it was totally worth the wait. Today was very different. First off we waited online for 1 1/2 hrs but was totally fine with since it opened recently. However, when we got to the window they couldn't figure out how to use the register needed management help that took forever. We ordered a doz hot glazed donuts and drove away. Opened the box and realized very quickly not even close to just made. We waited online for 1 1/2hrs for cold donuts and in the time frame for Hot Light. I went today for the 1st time and was very excited to try Krispy Kreme donuts after a rough week. I liked the place and the great variety of donuts. Even though they weren't making any at the moment, it was pretty cool to see where the production happens behind the glass. I ended up buying some, but not as much as I intended to. The actual donuts were very good and tasted very fresh. So for the taste, I would give this location 5 stars, but Unfortunately I give them a zero for customer service. I am visiting the city and staying at the hotel next to your store...I don't have a car becoz I Uber for work. I called Wednesday night and asked about the time they open and was told that the drive thru opens at 6am...this morning I planned to buy donuts for my staff and decided to walk thru the drive thru to purchase donuts....I was careful and there was no customer except me...I went to the speaker and no one seems to attend to me so I decide to walk to the drive thru window...your staff was really rude to me even though I explained to her that I have no car and just buying a donut for the staff...all throughout this ordeal she was nagging at me and bitching at me non stop....she gave me the donuts and asked for a bag and she uttered that you guys charge for bags which I don't mind and I'll pay for it...she walked out thinking that she was getting a bag and never came back...I came from California and we had a lot Krispy Kreme in my area and never had this kind of rudeness and nagging service all throughout... I had the Krispy Kreme - quite disappointed as the donut was stale, chocolate was way too sweet and it had only tiny bit of filling Kreme which is the killing point as the name itself Kreme, should stand out as soon as you bite it but I barely had only eaten the Kreme with the last 2 bites when I finished the whole donut. Unfortunately, the issue was with the main point of my visit: the doughnuts! Almost all of the filled doughnuts I ordered had either very very little filling, or literally no filling whatsoever.
