Really bad service, and incredibly dirty. We weren't looking for anything above and beyond, just wanted to buy some donuts. Person at counter clearly hates her job. We asked if they had any chocolate donuts, the girl said no. Ok understandable. There's a huge rack of chocolate donuts right behind her, so we asked if those were too hot to purchase yet and she just rolled her eyes and threw them in the box. EVERY single time I come to this Krispy Kreme, they are rude, and are too lazy to make any donuts they always only have three donuts. I usually don't leave bad reviews but I have gone to this Krispy Kreme at different times for a week trying to get my hands on a Twix donut, and they always tell me they only have three donuts and they won't make any even though there's so much time before they even close, today, I ordered donuts online thinking ha I win they finally have to make it, I waited over an hour just to get a call that they just didn't make it and are telling the delivery driver "they don't have it". I went to youthe location on Belt line and 28th street in Grand Rapids to share some joy with my niece after seeing the red light on. We waited in a line the wrapped around the store. I had my niece super excited all through themail line with a little crown on. I was shocked by the attitude of the staff when after ordering 1 dozen of donuts I requested a free donut for my niece. The staff member rolled her eyes and rocked her head back and forth and told me that "We don't do that at this location." A clerk boxed up my 12 donuts and told me to proceed to the register. Our Lansing location closed years ago I can only get "fresh" Krispy Kreme's from Grand Rapids. Upon walking into the store at 9pm an hour before closing, I wasn't greeted. No big deal right, closing shift is prepping for the morning. However, the cashier/ drive through attendant was relaxing on her phone doom scrolling. So I figure, ok, let's see how this goes. After 4 minutes of standing at the register and moving so I'm not "invisible" she unplugs her phone and walks to the back. I wait three more minutes and notice a guy working behind the carts. He walks out and to the back. He's only gone a minute and walks back and I wave my arms like a drowning swimmer. No dice. I have been there 10 minutes and nothing. As I leave and get to my vehicle I see the cahier saunter back in. Another customer pulls up in an Escolade, maybe he'll get some service any service. So, I pull around to the drive through and wait two minutes. Nothing. With service like this it's a wonder they even bother with after breakfast hours. I'm really disappointed. So work has been crushing lately and I knew I had a family thing coming up. I didn't want to go to Meijer bakery again. I saw an advertisement for the little mini donuts for Easter and I decided that was it. I also saw that I could preorder and I thought awesome! I'm from Texas and we have quite a lot of Krispy Kreme down there. They're all really good and everyone loves them...... then there's this one. Costumer service was bad, they acted like me ordering a donut was ruining their day. They rarely have any donuts and the ones they do have are old, and don't taste good (I can only imagine how many days donuts sit there before they make a new batch. On October 30th my daughter requested donuts around 8pm after trick or treating so of course as parents to an only child we obliged. upon arriving we see there are limited edition donuts and we are talking amongst our selves and the young lady unpleasantly says we only have original glaze so I tell my husband just order those. He nicely says can I just have a order of donuts( I let him know he forgot to say how many) then he lets her know a dozen. During this first interaction this young lady is heard faintly referring to my husband as a "stupid ni****". So he ignores it pays for the donuts and she hands them to him and shuts the window quickly and turns around. We are in need of napkins so we sit and wait to be acknowledged because he didn't want to knock on the window and startle her. Finally she turns around and says what? He politely asks for napkins. she gives them to him and rolls her. with no change of tone he lets her know that she doesn't have to do that and he was simply asking for napkins. This Hispanic young lady then replies "ni**** I don't have time for this. Get the fu** out of here". Not once did my husband raise his voice or show aggression to the young woman for her to act in this way. Our daughter was also in the car during this whole experience. I WOULD NEVER EVER EVER COME BACK TO THIS PLACE EVER! Then a few years ago a Krispy Kreme opened within driving distance and so one day after taking the kids to Toys-R-Us for birthday money spending we decided to go get a donut. WHO KNEW? Hot donuts right off the conveyor handed out by a smiling employee... And they are free? You must be kidding me? But it is true!!! A warm, sweet melt in your mouth donut you can watch from dough to glazed donut handed right to you! We do now go out of our way when we are in the area to go get hot donuts and just to make sure we do our part to make sure they stay in business this close to home, we ask for a couple dozen hot donuts to go, as well! If you eat them soon enough you can pop them in the microwave for a few seconds and it's almost as good as the fresh ones!!! Okay, I love Krispy Kreme but I had a horrible experience at the Grand Rapids, MI location. It was my little sister's birthday and to celebrate, she wanted to get Krispy Kreme donuts. We drove over an hour to give our business to this location. I pulled up to the drive thru and a Krispy Kreme employee was standing outside by the menu. I rolled down my window and she just stared at me. I asked, "Are you taking orders?" She said "Yeah, I wanted to get outside for a few minutes, so I'll take your order out here." I thought it was strange, but I told her we wanted a dozen--4 chocolate iced with sprinkles, 4 strawberry iced with sprinkles, and 4 of the glazed donuts with chocolate Kreme. She said, "I got it" and went inside. I pulled up to the window and paid. The same girl who took the order handed me a dozen donuts. I opened the box and the only donuts she got right were the 4 strawberry iced with sprinkles. The other 8 were wrong. I told her that was not what we ordered and tried to hand the box back to her. She told me she wouldn't take them back. I asked her if we could please get the donuts we ordered. She told me they didn't have any of the donuts with chocolate Kreme. I said okay and asked if I could get the chocolate iced with sprinkles. She told me, "that's not what you ordered." Keep in mind, she didn't write down my order while she was outside, nor did she confirm it when she took my payment. I asked if I needed to buy another dozen to get the donuts I want. She just looked at me. At this point the manager came to the window and asked what she could do to help. The previous girl then nudged her out of the way and reached through the window and handed me a box of 4 donuts (also not what I ordered) and said to me, "NOW GO!" Seriously. She said that to me, in front of her manager nonetheless. My jaw dropped to the floor. The manager didn't do a thing. I just left feeling like I wanted to cry. Donuts are good, workers aren't super nice. I can't blame them though, the joy associated with donuts has probably been lost for each and every one of them. Putting myself in their shoes, I would probably be constantly ticked off if I had to serve people donuts without being able to enjoy them for myself. Also, at first I thought that working at a donut shop would be nice because of the unlimited free donuts, but as I pondered this more, I became fairly certain that the novelty would quickly wear off, not to mention the dental harm as well as the weight gain.
