As a donut lover I try to like different establishments take on the classic donut. Here at Krispy Kreme I was able to watch the glazed donuts being made. The flipper to the waterfall of glaze cascading over the hot from the oil donuts. Today being Friday they had chocolate covered donuts. My kids just love the variety of seasonal donut options also. The staff was courteous and plensent as I had a large order. My daughter has band camp and I ordered 4 dozen for her to bring with. They took the order in stride for it fulfilled. So my husband called ahead because he wanted the Scooby doo dozen box in case they were out or running low. The person on the phone said they have plenty and to come on in. He gets there less than 20 minutes later (very few people in line) and they said they are out and don't offer an explanation as to why he was told on the phone that it was in stock. I don't think I have ever had a warm donut from here, but on occasion and I have been willing to settle for a cold one. Today I drove 35 minutes there with four kids and placed an order online ahead of time so that we didn't have to wait. I got there, and they had my order ready and handed over the box sealed and with our order taped to the top. I should have opened it up right then, but I didn't, and that was a huge mistake. They filled the box with whatever they wanted to, and now I have wasted my time and gas (and money) and have disappointed kids and a box of stale donuts they were obviously trying to get rid of. read more

On the way in there is a huge pile of puke on the side walk about a foot from the door. They only have three employees working. One on drive threw one on the front counter and one working the fresh donut line. The same lady taking orders also has to make drinks and ring you up then go back to help the next customer. The line is huge and the wait is long. But she is very friendly and polite and doesn't seem to be stressed out. But the place needs a good cleaning. UPDATE. That being said, the Jacksonville store is quickly loosing its luster with poor customer service and crappy attitudes from their long-term staff. But it is easy to see why these things would be overlooked when ever single time we come here, the management staff is sitting outside at the picnic tables having hour(s)-long smoke breaks. It should not take 20 minutes or more in the drive through. The staff should understand how to make coffee; and the coffee should NEVER taste burnt, but for the second visit in a row, that is what happened. And since when is it okay to give customers an indignant attitude because they want six assorted donuts instead of a dozen glazed?? Some people don't actually want extra donuts; and staff needs to pay more attention to how many donuts make up an order of six or twelve. With such a stellar experience becoming the normal, it won't take much for us to find a new place to stop. read more

Krispy Kreme Doughnuts let me tell you a little story about an Old Fat Lady, her desperation for hot donuts and Antonio of Krispy Kreme. Antonio of Krispy Kreme knows all about customer service, Old Fat Ladies, and the red light. This OFL hasn't been able to have a dreamy hot pillow of heaven Krispy Kreme donut in months. On April 17, 2021 while visiting her Jacksonville in-laws, they all went out to lunch As they were seated on the restaurant patio, she spotted Krispy Kreme across the street. The whole impromptu in-law family reunion was mere background noise and a blur as the OFL kept her eye on the Krispy Kreme sign, praying for it to glow that tell-tale succulent seductive red. As the meal progressed--drinks came and went. Appetizers came and went. Main dishes came and went. But the red light across the street never came on. The whole time the OFL never took her eye off the Krispy Kreme sign. The in-laws were wrapping up thier meal and memories--the check was on its way. The OFL's heart began to sink. Her desperation was now palpable. And still, across the street, there was no hint of a glowing red light. As the check was being signed, the panicked OFL picked up her phone and called the Krispy Kreme at 4145 Western Blvd, Jacksonville, NC 28546. Antonio of Krispy Kreme answered. God bless Antonio of Krispy Kreme. Antonio knew. Antonio is a silver-tongued saint. He talked the OFL off the ledge. He made her weak desperation into a comforting moment. He promised his crew was getting the donuts ready for the rush and the light would be on soon. Although the OFL, waved to him across the street, threatened to bolt through traffic like Usain, and dive into the donut maker herself... he calmed her down and promised there would be hot donuts for her. OFL gave him one final warning, "Honey don't come between an Old Fat Lady and her donuts!" Antonio held strong, calm, and reassuring. She hung up the phone and keeping one eye on the unlit sign, she tried her best to join in the family conversation. The in-laws head finished up and were pouring back into the van. To appease the OFL, they drive across the barren intersection with no hope of the seductive glowing donut red light to lead them across the road. They get in the 'drive through' line. The OFL is wringing her hands... There is still no red light. As the very nice Krispy Kreme lady takes the order, the OFL interrupts and cries out, "Tell Antonio, the Old Fat Lady from across the street is here for her hot donuts and I am holding him to his word." Against all odds, Antonio delivered. Antonio held true to his word. Antonio knows. Antonio knows customer service. He knows how to deliver a very delicious product. He knows how to work the crowd. You are a donut shop and it was a holiday....I get there and attempt to use my electronic gift card that was purchased from their website. The person at the window couldnt figure out how to take so after the 3rd try he said let me get my manager, we had already held up the line so I said I'll just pay cash. So I ask if I could get a dozen and he said sure. I asked for one type, he responded sorry we are out. I ask for something else he responded sorry out of that as well. We went through the drive thru today because the spring minis were a must during a pandemic! The woman at the window was just as sweet as their donuts!
