Krispy Kreme! My guilty pleasure for my sugar fix. I was saddened when they closed down their Scarborough Town Centre location, but am glad that I don't have to drive all the way up to Mississauga! This location is 3 weeks new, and is tucked away on McCaul street. It is a quaint place to grab some doughnuts and a coffee. I came here on Friday 13th to take advantage of their 75th Birthday featuring Buy One (Dozen) get the Second Dozen for $0.75. The girls behind the counter were friendly but I don't know if I liked the fact that they weren't promoting the special. Thank God for the power of the internet. The 'nuts here are not as fresh as the ones in Mississauga seeing as this is a small space and they probably get them frozen from headquarters. read more

I have warm feelings for this donut shop, as I have recently been visiting here for early morning coffee and treats during my "walk of shame" trips to the subway with a lovely Irishman who's as sweet at the Original Glazed Donuts that I probably shouldn't be eating so early in the morning. Despite being a big chain store, this location feels like a cute, cozy mom and pop coffee shop that fits in perfectly in Baldwin Village where it is located. My visits here are bittersweet however, because even though the coffee's fresh and I get to spend time with my charming friend, moments after we leave, we must part ways for the oncoming work day :( read more

Having spent time in the University Hospital Network district often over the past year, discovering one of the last remaining Krispy Kreme shops nearby was a nice bonus. It's a shame that they miscalculated their expansion in 2000 and fizzled out a few years after. Anyways, gone are my days of being able to eat four to six glazed doughnuts in one sitting and live to see another day but I do enjoy having one or two when I do go and visit. The doughnut prices are about the same as Tim Horton's but in my opinion, they are two to three times better. I don't believe Krispy Kreme bakes or fries their doughnuts on site but I would say they are better deserving of the "Always Fresh" slogan. When I compare Krispy Kreme to some of the newer gourmet doughnut places like Jelly Modern who sell their doughnuts for $3 or more, Krispy Kreme is my choice hands down. A third of the price and tastes just as fresh, I feel more satisfied and both with my appetite and wallet. As far as the store, there is seating for around 30 people and there is a TV showing CP24 so it is a place you can sit and enjoy your doughnut and coffee. It's also their new spot since relocated a couple of doors North. My only hope now is that they stay successful enough to stay afloat or better yet, open up a new location close to my work or home. read more

I was totally jonesing for something deep fried and I spied this new KK location a block away from my work. Nice and friendly staff with lots of options it makes you crazy. No tax if you buy a dozen and if you buy a second dozen you get $2 off! It is located in a tiny are but there are some tables to sit and nice armchairs with a TV at the back of the store to doze off after you come out of your sugar high. It is as good as I remember it and always a great welcome to spike up the afternoon at work. Welcome to the neighbourhood KK. This review is solely for the doughnut holes at Krispy Kreme. THEY ARE AWFUL. Stay away if you don't want to just toss $6.99 down the drain. I bought 48 of these, and not one person at the office party I brought them to had anything positive to say. They were rock hard - probably had been sitting out since at least the day before. If you are near McCaul, ditch Tim Hortons and grab a doughnut here instead! Definitely a guilty pleasure as their doughnuts are all pretty sweet. My all time favourite is the original glaze. You can get individual ones for $1.15 or a dozen for $10.95. They have this promo right now, no sure how long it's running for- If you buy 2 dozens, you get $2 off. So I suggesting splitting it with a couple friends to if you can to save a couple bucks. The also have doughnut holes which are essentially like timbits and mini doughnuts, but they unfortunately sold out for the time we went. Doughnut holes are about $11 for 20. They also serve coffee and other caffeinated beverage which I haven't tried yet, but smells great. The place is like a small little cafe and offers free wifi, so it's a great alternative to starbucks if you are looking for something quieter as most people grab their doughnuts to go. read more

Awesome doughnuts here and staff are very friendly. This place always has some sort of a line formed close to the entrance, most times that I've visited. This place has wi-fi, a TV with CP24 on, a washroom, seating area, but sadly only one spot with an electrical outlet. This location gets their krispy kreme donuts delivered to them, so they do not bake them fresh here unfortunately. Still, I get a box full of a dozen doughnuts for 9.75$ flat. Came here to use my wagjag voucher. I found the service to be minimal, not really that great but terrible. Sort of indifferent. They have all the donuts in the display but when you want a donut they give it to you from the back rack (so as not to disturb the beautiful display). They have free wifi, got the coffee but didn't drink it later on. They didn't fill to anywhere close to the top even though I told them I want a black coffee. Went on a Saturday night in early Feb this year. This location does not appear to have fresh donuts made on-premises, but the shop is conveniently located near Dundas and University. I do not have a problem with their donuts not being fresh off the fryer, but the donuts here had a detectable 'off' flavour. Not sure if the oil is rancid or if the oil they were fried in is 'overused', but there is a very marked and unpleasant flavour. The more heavily flavoured icing/filled donuts mask this somewhat but being a Krispy Kreme purist, I'm all about the fresh donut pastry, and the ones I bought from this donut shop were a big let-down. read more

I love hot, fresh out of the deep fryer krispy kremes donut!!!! But this is a tinny little krispy kreme next to Chinatown which doesn't make their donuts in store. So make sure you ask them to microwave your donuts before you eat them. It makes a huge difference! read more

So these con artists advertised far and wide that if you bought a dozen donuts on July 27/18, you'd get a second dozen for a dollar - and ALL FOUR Toronto locations run by these scammers RAN OUT OF DONUTS by 9 am!!!!!! They had NONE of these $1 for a dozen donuts after 9am - so stupid me wasted my time dragging my @$$ all the way there for nothing!!! These pricks owe us compensation for scamming thousands of customers! . . . . Oh - these donuts are SO GOOD. So much better than the other (coffee) shops. While trying to quench my sugar addiction, I often visited the other big donut chains - and I was stunned to find out that sometimes at night if you go into them they have a GRAND TOTAL of maybe 7 or 8 donuts on the shelf. I'm not talking 7 of each type - I mean if you add up all the donuts in the store you can't find a dozen! Which made me realize the other chains are mainly just glorified coffee pushers. And boy was I happy when I found out that Krispy Kreme is in Toronto. Their donuts are addictive. And it's not just the standard glazed variety. I strongly encourage you to try most of the varieties. If you do - I'll bet you'll be very happy you did. Some of them are amazing. And did you know that you can freeze their donuts? Yup. Take advantage of the great deal you get on buying 2 dozen and throw most of them in the freezer. Take them out a half hour before you want to eat one and they'll be fresh as can be. I was excited to check out the Krispy Kreme Café after I had first spotted it and it did not disappoint. It has now become my go-to café when I am in the neighbourhood. I was surprised that I liked the coffee. The blended drink options are excellent. As far as baked goods, I do prefer the speciality items over the regular donuts. cozy coffee corner that embraces the krispy kreme vibe and serves fresh kk delights. i was happy to find this place on my way back to the car, because the only real bakery of these delish dounts are in mississauga. I've hesitated to purchase kk donuts from gas stations/walmart/costco even because the freshness is just not up to par, but this place was friendly, clean, the donuts were fresh and had the same assortment. I love my donuts and I like them from Krispy Kreme =P The first time I came here I was very adventurous and I tried a non-original glazed donut and it was way too sweet. Ever since then, I only go for their original glazed donut and I believe it's the only one worth getting when you visit Krispy Kreme. I would also try their cold drinks because it's less thick than a milkshake but not as liquidy as a regular drink ... in other words, the texture is perfect and the taste is delicious so give it a try! read more

Well until this past summer, I didn't even know that Krispy Kreme Doughnuts still existed in Canada. Then I happened upon this location while down on Baldwin Street. Now when I'm in the area, I try to drop in for a coffee and donut. The place is not very big, only seating for about a dozen people. I do not recall having waited very long in line, and the staff are usually friendly. (I will say that the clerk yesterday had a difficult time figuring out my change, but this sadly seems to be fairly common these days). I had a Caramel Kreme Crunch donut and medium hot chocolate for $4. The donuts are always fresh and the coffee and hot chocolate are fine. I think part of the attraction is that it's still a novelty for me, so the price is reasonable, and I'm sure to be back from time to time. read more

Downtown Toronto has two Krispy Kreme donut cafes, both in transitional neighbourhoods. The Harbord location is an inconvenient but manageable walk from U of T and the Annex, while this location occupies a spot on the edge of Baldwin Village, a few blocks from Toronto's Hospital Row. This is great news if you work in the health care field, or if your Significant Other is (early) in labour--I can personally attest to this. Nothing gets you through those first exhausting hours of parenthood like a huge cup of fresh-brewed, dark-roast coffee. A little cream. No sugar. This location has the added advantage of size; a labyrinthine back room provides male seating compared to Harbord's 2-3 tables; comfy chairs, CP24 on the TV and free wi-fi make this Krispy Kreme a cozy location suitable for grinding out policy papers. The coffee itself is strong and hot; it's increased in price of late but still provides better value than Starbucks. The donuts are reliably good, although I miss the hot grease aroma from Krispy Kreme's previous iterations, back when the donuts were all made on-site. Yo, I love donuts. I want to give this 5 stars but that would speak mostly to the fact that I love donuts. The donuts here are no exception. Light (HAHAHA! what an illusion), fluffy, and fresh-tasting even though they're not made on-site. For all I care, they could make them on the moon. Tim Hortons donuts seem to regularly undergo treatment under a shrink ray. On the other hand, hip local bakeries fancify and overprice, with their $4 Garam Masala Mojito Rosewater Balsamic varieties. Krispy Kreme, in its utterly corporate and un-Canadian glory, produces good old-fashioned fried dough holes which are not only reasonably priced, but still very much visible to the human eye. It's enough to make a grown woman cry as well as visit the dentist. We're down to two Krispy Kremes in Toronto and I'm losing sleep at night worrying about the remaining locations shutting down. I needed to come down this way, and my cousin was in search of something sweet, like a cupcake of something, so Krispy Kreme was the decided alternate. OMG, what a good choice. Sometimes I forget about the sugary goodness of the Krispy Kreme. My fave remains the original, but they had a number of other choices, including creme and custard filled options and some key lime varieties. A cute place to visit, and there were a few chairs and probably even wifi. If I were more local, I'd come in more often. read more

I couldn't believe I went to school downtown for 7 years, and only found out about this place in my last year. I don't eat donuts, but I do eat Krispy Kreme Donuts. Its bittersweet that the one in Richmond Hill closed, because I miss it, but on the bright side I don't eat donuts. Once I found out about this place I made sure I visited a few times before graduating. The donuts were as good as Krispy Kreme donuts always are. My fave are the original glazed and the one with the cream filling inside. The coffee was also only a $1. It probably still is. This location has a cute, small sit-down area. Since most people take what they need to go, I have never seen it full. This location is a short walking distance from the St. George U of T campus, especially if your classes are near the Queen's Park subway station. I honestly think that as part of orientation, new students should be informed of this gem. It'll just make your bad/good days better. read more

I honestly don't understand the hype about Krispy Kreme. Their donut size is very small and costs more than Tims ($1.15 per donut). I was expecting some "special" or "exotic" new flavours but it was just the standard flavours. The staff are so lovely here. There is a reward card for coffee, after 5 you get a free coffee (any size) and after another 5 you get a free dozen doughnuts! Great deal and great service. Also they have Bagels and cream cheese which was unsuspected but nice when you want a salty snack instead of sweet. Great if your in the neighborhood looking for a cheap breakfast, or are craving doughnuts. All the people who work at the mccaul location are friendly and helpful. read more
