Purchased July 2025…read more Confession: I would follow Jim and his Northstar Halibut truck pretty much anywhere. (And yes, that includes this morning when I drove all the way across town like a woman on a seafood mission.) This is the kind of business I love to support...small, family-owned, and absolutely passionate about what they do. Jim and his crew catch the fish themselves in Alaska, get it packaged and flown to Arizona, and then somehow manage to bring coastal-level freshness right into the middle of the desert. You'll usually spot him at Uptown Farmer's Market (bring a cooler...you'll want to stock up), but he also shows up roadside now and then like a seafood fairy godfather. And he's delivered larger orders right to my door in the past. Who does that anymore?! Jim does. Favorites? Halibut, cod, red snapper, and the smoked salmon which is basically a religious experience. Oh...and halibut cheeks. Trust me. A total delicacy. Never to be forgotten! The fish is always firm, clean, fresh, and so flavorful it barely needs seasoning.
