Possibly one of the best seafood meals and restaurant experiences I've ever had!…read more The ambience is amazing. We sat at the bar and had a view of the entire restaurant including the kitchen. The place is a well-run and oiled machine. Best quality seafood in the valley. It's pricey but you get what you pay for. The calamari is epic. A must try! We also have the dozen oysters. They were spectacular and the shrimp cocktail does not get any better than this. The staff is incredibly attentive and skilled. Like I said, you get what you pay for and this place gives you the best!

Review is strictly on the type of restaurant Buck and rider is. It's an AI robotic restaurant that…read morehas no genuine charm or appeal other than nice decor and good food. The servers are robotic and will ask you every single time if this your "first time dining with us". Never do the hosts or hostess acknowledge "welcome back". When we take our tables there's always a receipt on our table and I turn it over and it says "big spender" on it. We do order a good amount and always the best stuff. But to put this receipt on your table for us to see is beyond cringe, and on top of it their servers will pick it up and ask if I've been there before. 50 times I'm guessing we've visited in the last year or so. Countless reservations under my name and other friends and bar visits for happy hour. Today was my wife's 38th birthday and we came to Buck and rider to enjoy it with our three boys. For the first time in our couple years coming they id'd my wife for her drink she ordered. She didn't bring her ID. The server got the gm and she denied us even seeing our history of how many times we've frequented the establishment. She didn't care that it was her bday or that we had a picture of her ID she was cold, dismissive and short. Nothing you expect of a place that should welcome us with open arms, remember us and make our experiences there memorable. It's a judgement call for them. Deny our best customers who dine here twice a month or more, who have three boys and take her ID picture or lose a good customer. Common sense and standard judgement have been completely lost

We tried one of their house steam pot specialties and a seafood tower. The seafood was fresh and you can try a little bit of everything, but I think next time, we'll opt for one of their house favorites instead.

I had ice tea and wife ordered the blood orange jenny drink; both were great and refreshing! I also ordered a loaf of their warmed sourdough and butter to share with the table. Almost like being in San Francisco! For dinner we decided to share a couple of things; the crab cakes, which comes with fried avocado and some of the best aioli for dipping. The cakes themselves are big and full of crab with just the right amount of filling to create a decadent and moist cake! We also shared the seared jumbo scallops...High Tides knows how to cook scallops to the best! So yummy and tender and perfectly cooked with that crispy outer and the soft, creamy inside. We also shared a Caesar salad and one of the things we love about this place...ask and you can get some fresh anchovy on the side to add to the salad. Wife always asks for more lemon as well to drizzle over the salad. Overall a fantastic dinner for us and everyone with us!

Many trips to We Ko Pa, always wanted to try Ember and definitely glad I did last weekend…read more The delightful Amber at Ember was a fantastic server, very attentive to preferences and allergies. Brought us a complimentary glass of bubbly to start the evening and didnt let up on service throughout. Prices are not what you expect from a restaurant of this class, plenty of food. Our table ordered pate de foie gras Lobster bisque Fillet (best she'd had) Pork belly Largest portion of Sea Bass Lamb chops Veggies, potato and spinach So much good food. If I, and I will... did it again. Here's what I would suggest to myself. pate de foie gras is so delicate, TX toast overwhelmed it. The table garlic bread was really good... ill ask for more of that toasted Brocolini, cooked more... was very hard to eat. But definitely 5 stars Ambience is great, space everywhere around, plenty of room between tables, live music in the bar filled the restaurant. Dishes cleaned away as soon as you were finished. Note, therea a beautiful patio and fireplace outside for the cooler weather. Call them to book, credit card needed and they used OpenTable. We were seated on time.

The special crème brûlée unfortunately was off. It was not advertised as having citrus and it was overpowering. If you are into that, then you probably would have loved the crème brûlée. Service was very attentive and friendly. Also the amuse-bouche was a nice touch. The restaurant is well lit and very open. There was a piano player singing and it provided nice ambiance.

They ran short on some of the items we ordered. Two caprese salads were ordered & one plate had full sized sliced tomatoes and the other plate had half slices of tomatoes. Apparently they ran out & made a point in letting us know as they were being served. We had also ordered drinks. They all arrived but my husband's. After we asked, we were told they didn't have any grapefruit juice to make his drink. I ordered the eggplant dinner but the server returned advising it had sold out. Not sure how that happened since we were the 1st ones in for the evening. Honestly, nothing was close to good. Red sauce on pasta was rough .. tasted like it came right out of a tomato sauce can, pasta was soft. We left disappointed but still enjoyed an evening out with our friends. I don't know what else to say; was this experience a one off night for them? I'm not sure but I do know we won't be going back. It's a shame because it's a lovely venue for weddings & other parties.
