I hired Kelly to help pick colors for a home that I had just purchased and was in the process of doing some lite remodeling. This was the first (and only time) that I have hired someone to perform a service like this so I really didn't know what my expectations should be of the process or of what the outcomes would be. I think that's the trickiest part of this is that there is some risk because it's a creative process and really communication is everything. I put together my own look book for my house which really helped as a communication tool. It really allowed us to both anchor on what the outcomes would be. Kelly and I had good preliminary discussions so that I would know what to expect and everything went as planned! Working in a field where I deal with hourly costs, I can truly say that Kelly provides a great service and exceptional value. When I engaged Kelly, I had a pretty clear directional sense of where I wanted to go. I find the most value that I got from her was the confidence building she gave me. Oh yea, I also love the colors that we selected. All this AND she made two trips all the way over to Half Moon Bay to work with me. Have you ever tried picking paint, with or without help? It's got to be one of the most time consuming and painful processes and I LOVE decorating. Trying picking a color palette for a whole house under the pressure of a cont actor with whom the clock is ticking with painters wanting to get going. At one point in the process, she responded right away to my panicked emails and provided me new options when one of the colors didn't look good at night. She was even willing to make a third trip out, on no notice to help me test a new color. Above and beyond all of this, Kelly is really fun. The whole process felt just like I was getting together with one of my girlfriends. She's super stylish, full of energy and professional without being stuffy.

We engaged with Chelsea and Lissette on an e-design project for several rooms in our home, including our living room, sitting area and bedroom. We were looking for design services but didn't need the traditional full service and loved the concept of e-design. We were blown away by the final product! They listened to our project needs, incorporated our design aesthetic and came up with a concept that we would have never gotten to on our own. They were flexible throughout the process, even incorporated some existing furniture we loved. We went through two rounds of revisions and had a shopping list so that we could have full control of what we wanted to purchase and what we wanted to hold off on getting. The final product looked complete and cohesive. We love our more moody living room which compliments the light,more airy feel of the sitting room next door. They relate to each other while being distinctly different and beautiful. We get endless compliments on these spaces. I'm so glad we engaged with TH. They're professional, detailed, organized (no surprises!), and great communicators. The 2024 remodel of my San Rafael home was the largest home construction project I have attempted,…read moreand this is my 4th house. I am a certified Project Manager and licensed Mechanical Engineer, so I know what good project execution looks like. MKC is the best residential contractor I have worked with in my 30 years of home ownership. MKC employs a process with heavy emphasis on planning the work up front followed by quality execution by the craftsmen. Scott (owner of MKC) honestly strives to land each project with the highest quality work done at a reasonable price. My project was mainly to remodel a kitchen and master bathroom. Additionally, we removed two walls (one load bearing), replaced 1/2 the house windows, addressed two different legacy structural issues, replaced fireplace, all interior doors, all baseboard and trim, all flooring and about a dozen other upgrades (add ceiling fans, add additional door, replace garage door header, toilet in 2nd bath, etc.). Basically, I received a new house. The work was completed in a little over 4 months as planned adding time for the new scope and structural issues. The cost was as expected. MKC costs were nearly exact to expected. Material costs were higher than planned due to our selection of materials vs assumed. The quality of the work was outstanding whether it was by MKC employees or subcontractors. I highly recommend the MKC team for a kitchen or major home remodel.

They have a great sense of design and color and they are a family own business. I really recommend them. It was also nice to have someone understand our budget and try to help. I have PTSD from others doing bad, work or being lazily and unfair. I can honestly say it was a pleasure working with them. Of course we had normal problems that had nothing to do with them but they were patient and understanding. We Interviewed 4 different companies and no one was interested in us unless we could spend our life savings. If you need a kitchen and someone has a great sense of design, check out her in the kitchen. I feel like we got lucky.
