    Floor tile

Alex did a great job replacing my bathroom floor tile. His installation was polished, his crew was respectful of my home (setting up lots of protective material on floors etc), and he worked around my schedule to get the work done while I was out of town as this was our only bathroom. Highly recommend!

    Backsplash

Alex did a fantastic job installing a new backsplash with custom tiles. He was reliable, did excellent work, came back to make small touch ups when the grout shrank. I feel like Alex charged a fair price and provided great value. I would highly recommend Alex's Custom Tiles.

Alex and his team did a wonderful job tiling our kitchen backsplash for us. Within a day of reaching out, he was able to come and provide an estimate promptly. They started their work and he was communicative throughout the entire process. His price was also very competitive and fair. They were diligent with every detail and made sure the job met both of our standards. His tiler also was very helpful in suggesting grout colors which was something we were struggling with. I would definitely work with Alex again in the future for tiling projects.

After regrouting. Looks so very good.

Alex and his team regrouted my 1938 tile bathroom making it look brand new. Communication was excellent, the job was done on time and the price was reasonable. I rarely write reviews but need to do it with such exceptional work.

    After Photo

Alex was quick to respond after plumbers had to remove tile to fix a leaky shower/tub. He recommended a great place to find tile that matched. From request to done took less than two weeks, and you can't tell that it had to be repaired. Before and after photos attached.

mixed colors, glazing, and sizes and shapes.

Our project was tiling two adjoining bathrooms. Our contractor had already stripped the floor to the subfloor. Alex and his colleague laid the Ditra waterproofing in preparation for the tile. They were able to work with our very special condition: we were using tiles from mixed remainder boxes from Heath Ceramics ($5 / box!) which are only available sight-unseen - so you can only see the colors, shapes, and sizes after you buy them. While we had laid out the tiles on mesh backing to communicate the patterns, Alex and his colleague, Roman, had to carefully figure out how to make them fit. The smaller bathroom used lozenge-shaped tiles in a basketweave pattern that ran at a diagonal which required creating small slices of tile to fill the space next to the bathtub. The other room used tiles that were not perfectly square and therefore were laid using an irregular spacing that reinforced the (carefully selected) mix of colors and glazing. Roman did an outstanding job of dealing with this craziness. Alex was professional and easy to work with. We recommend Alex's Custom TIle and would use them again without reservation.

Alex and his crew recently complete a major tiling project for me that included four bathrooms (one with a steam shower), and two kitchens. I could not be happier with the results. When I first contacted Alex, he was quick to respond and to provide me with a quote for the work. The quote was more then fair for the extent of the project. When I changed the scope of the work (adding a tile wall in the kitchen), Alex was clear and fair on the pricing for the additional labor. As this was a long term project, Alex and his crew were working on my job site with other contractors. Alex and his crew were a joy to have on the site, and had zero issues working with my other subs. Through the entire project Alex and his crew where extremely professional, reliable, and considerate. They worked hard to hit all of their milestones that they set, and always kept me up to date regarding any scheduling issues. It is clear that Alex and his crew take great pride in the work that they do, and it shows in the results. I cannot recommend Alex highly enough. If you hire him, you will end up with a fantastic tiling job.

Beautiful, meticulous tile work done by Alex and his team! So happy to have had the opportunity to complete another project with him.

I am so happy to have had the opportunity to work again on this third project with Alex and his team! This was not an easy install because it was glass tile but he and his team were amazingly meticulous and precise! My kitchen feels and looks complete, with WOW factor! I am confident that no one could have done this job as perfectly as it was done! I love that Alex and his team are receptive, have good communication, and treat me with such great respect! I look forward to doing my other bathroom! Alex, I'm so grateful and happy to have worked with you and your team--It was such a pleasure to work with you!

After years of putting it off, I finally decided to re-tile our fireplace. Alex was instrumental in making sure I chose the right tile - - a designer I was working with had originally recommended a marble façade, but Alex noted how the existing tile was stained from years of burning fires in the fireplace and recommended that I install a porcelain tile so that I could wipe things clean. That alone made working with Alex worth it, since I would've been very disappointed to of spent so much money on new tile and installation only to have the same staining problem a year later. He also recommended that I reinstall the hearth tile, which after almost 100 years, was looking a bit shabby, and he noted that with the new façade, the hearth tile being dated would be even more apparent. Not only that, but that he would be able to make the hearth tile flush with our hardwood floor. I was delighted with the results - - things have never looked better - - and not only that, he was able to knock things out in one solid day of work, minimizing demo to save us money on the project, and I will have a gorgeous new façade and hearth for many years to come!

Alex is amazing. He's responsive, professional and did a beautiful job. He had to demolish two layers of flooring to get to the old wood floor from 85 years ago. He was careful and thorough and the new tile floor is beautiful. He is a perfectionist when it comes to the new floor. I recommend him without reservation.

After looking at some pics from Alex's work we decided to reach out and get a quote. Alex responded in a timely manner, was courteous and professional. After we explained what we were looking for he provided us with a fair quote and measurements for purchasing the marble. He did not charge us for the consultation which was very nice. The day of the work he brought over one of his team who would be doing the job and fortunately for us this guy had done a previous fire place retiling that was almost identical to what we wanted. I don't remember the guys' name and he was also professional and made sure to cover our furniture to prevent the dust from settling in. This was a day and half job which was originally quoted for two days. I think the pictures speak for the work! We are just so amazed how beautiful the work turned out. Not only would we recommend Alex's team we plan to continue to hire Alex for future retiling projects! Thank you Alex Mezheritskiy!

Alex and is crew are great. Months later, I am more than happy with the work. The craftsmanship and prices are very fair, and the speed of completion is very quick. (4-6 days only for my job) I plan on using alex in the future and recommending him.

New split face travertine on the vertical, with travertine 12x24 on the hearth. All edges were miter-cut or rounded.

One of the best tile guys I have ever run across. I got Alex's referral from Yelp (thanks Yelpers). Came over very quickly for the quote. Agreed to a price, started on time, finished early, with all work done flawlessly. I had a very complex set of jobs - demo/new in Laundry Room with a very uneven concrete floor; travertine stone set over old brick on a fireplace; and reset/replaced six tiles on a Carrara marble floor in another bath. Work quality is excellent, and he is fairly priced. I'm a construction executive, and I see trade craftsmen all day long. Alex and his guys are top notch. They are very busy (and as a result, they are typically booked a few weeks out), but your patience will be richly rewarded. Old school guys.

I think it's important folks know…read moreabout this experience so see below: ______________________ I had such a bad experience with Mission Home which I know will look bonkers given the 5 star reviews. I was definitely persuaded by these reviews - and now will question every business that has 5 star reviews. Do your homework and don't be fooled. Project took much longer than what it should have because they were disorganized and would forget certain things (the foreman would even admit that the PM should have told me certain things!) that I would have imagined a contractor had down pat in terms of sequencing. They use some subcontractors and you are at the mercy of their schedules. They just are not organized (you will do a lot of the reminding, checking in, following up, and certain things still may not happen). They failed inspections meaning more cost (it is their job to pass these! It says this in any contract!) If it seemed as though I was questioning something, the PM got defensive and sometimes unprofessional, gaslighting me in a very aggressive manner. I saved the communication, in fact. The people I worked with directly were young and it showed in the almost-too-casual style of communication and lack of professionalism. I surrendered towards the end and just wanted the project done and everyone gone. I feel completely foolish that I went with the significantly higher estimate thinking it would offer a smooth, superior experience. The actual people who did the work worked hard though and did nice work - hence the two stars. But at the end of the day, it's actually hard to enjoy the work as I am reminded by the months of bad experiences - up to the very end. You can find more experienced contractors out there for equal quality of workmanship and for a more competitive price. I am using a different contractor now for other work at the property - it's a 180 degree difference - they have a dedicated team for my project, meaning time to completion is more accurate and on time; they have a dedicated person to procure the finishes and fixtures, not myself; they are way more organized and even provided me a timeline of what to expect and communicate with me what time they are showing up and what progress was made that day (!!); they are bringing a truly expert eye with attention to detail that ELEVATES the space and are teaching me to ask things I didn't even know I should KNOW to ask; and most importantly, I feel truly comfortable asking questions without defensiveness and aggressive steamrolling in their answers. I received none of this level of care or expertise with MHR, and I want you to know that you should expect these things!!!

But anyway, on the date of the site visit, the guy come without any tool for measurements and for note taking. The guy just spent like 20 mins walking around the house and said he will get back to us with a quote. But I never hear back from them since. I think the company is very picky on clients and like to see if they have enough money to pay for their service. If they think we cannot afford it, they will just cut all the communications. There have been multiple unresolved issues with the quality of work and follow-through. One example is an LED light that continues to flicker. It has been more than six months, with many calls and text messages, but the issue still has not been fixed. Another example is damage to our garage cabinet, where a hole was created during the work. We are still waiting for this to be repaired as well. Overall, the lack of timely resolution and poor communication after the project has been extremely frustrating.

Overall, the project went well, and we're happy with the final results. Bryan, our foreman, was a strong asset to the project. Even though he was managing multiple jobs at the same time, his responsiveness and willingness to go out of his way to address our concerns made a big difference. Because we were home throughout the process, we were able to catch issues early and communicate them directly to Bryan, who consistently followed through to resolve them. What Went Well: * The tile and flooring subcontractors were excellent - their craftsmanship and attention to detail truly stood out. * Bryan, our foreman, was responsive to texts and phone calls, listened to our concerns, and made sure they were addressed. He even designed a bi-fold closet door for us, and helped pick up all the material to build it. * Bryan also took the initiative to handle several unfinished items himself, which we really appreciated. * The post-build cleaners were top-notch and left the space in pristine condition. * Throughout the project, everyone we interacted with was professional, courteous, and conscientious. There were no conflicts or issues, which made the experience comfortable for us. Areas for Improvement: * The timeline was a pain point. While we were originally told the project would take 6-8 weeks, it ended up stretching to 12 weeks. * The design process fell short of expectations. Because Prime's in-house designers weren't available, our design work was outsourced. We only received a full design package for the master bathroom. As a result, we ended up creating our own renderings for the other rooms to help communicate our vision to the team. That said, we were very happy with the design and material selections for the master bathroom they did complete. We just wish the same level of attention and design support had been provided for the rest of the project. * At times, resource availability was limited, likely due to workers being assigned to multiple jobs. This led to workflow inefficiencies and delays. Toward the end of our renovation, our foreman Bryan had to personally step in to complete several tasks, such as installing faucets, shelving, and baseboards. He managed to get it done in between site visits and meetings, which we appreciated, but it also highlighted a lack of available crew to close out the project. Despite these few challenges, the quality of the work met our expectations. We appreciated the team's effort and the final outcome.
