Charming small diner feel. 5 booths , a couple tables , 7 counter seats. In middle of a neighborhood. Great breakfast menu. My server Emily was very responsive to my requests. (Eg. Extra napkins, butter for toast). I requested extra, extra crispy hashbrowns and I got them! The bacon was crisp and a very good quality. Long. The rye toast was excellent and a good size. The sunny side up eggs were lightly cooked, like I like them. There are several packaged jellies on the table. Used 3 of them, including apple butter. The owners are working hard, it's obvious. Impressed me. Definitely will be back. Portions were ample. It took about 35 minutes to get my order, but I could see the cook working hard. read more

This place is one of those small town cute little mom and pop shops doing some good things. The place is small inside but cute and tasteful decorated with bar seating and small booth tables. Our server was young and kind not very attentive on the refills she got us started and then just kind of disappeared. The owner can be towards the end and offered coffee refills. He also brought our food. I was not a huge fan of the food, it was very base. Nothing to hold the omelet together, very little cheese and no seasoning or flavor to speak of. I get it some people including the family we were with just LOVED the simple food. My mother in law loved the fact "this place didn't over season everything, delicious." My wife enjoyed her meal and father-in-law well we got a "good" out of him that's worth 4 starts . Warm and Friendly and the food was worth the wait. We came in when it was busy but the atmosphere was like walking in to a family dinner with people visiting tables and friendly banter at the counter. Kristin was slinging her wonderful food on the grill herself and it was DELICIOUS! We had the Strawberry French Toast (w/ Cinnamon Drizzle), the Breakfast Quesadilla, and the Cinnamon Roll French Toast. We all loved our food! Welcome home! Well might as well be, when you're at Kristen's she makes you feel like you're having breakfast with family. Small hole in the wall feel, but yummy food, good portions, and the service is like mom taking care of you. It's fun to just sit there and listen to Kristin talk with the other customers. And even though we've only been a few times she greets us like family. We stopped in today to break diet and enjoy someone else cooking. I had meat lovers scramble with sausage gravy and a fried egg on top! Dang! Yup that good. Nom nom. Wife had a small egg bacon and toast plate which did the trick. This almost 14 year old restaurant is a neighborhood gem. It's a smaller intimate, watch your breakfast being cooked by a warm and welcoming staff, setting. It reminds me of a "Cheers like" bar. Everyone is enjoying their meal and having a conversation with others. The portions are plentiful and most importantly, delicious! I would highly recommend trying out the Kafe! read more

Man, I love this place. I feel like it should be showcased on diners, dives, and drive-ins. Kristen is hilarious and so down to Earth as well as familial with the customers that it's a breath of fresh air to hear her tell a customer to move his fat ass and then lovingly call him a pumpkin butt as she pats his ass on the way by. There are only 6 tables and a bar with an open kitchen, one restroom for all, and a predominantly female staff managing the place. It's small and feels like home, but not. The food is cooked like homemade and the prices are amazing! If you walk away from here hungry, it's your own damn fault, or a weird diet that you are on. Anyway, the menu features items like Hugh jass platter, and half plates, and breakfast almost always is served with hash browns and toast of your choice. I'm recommending the sausage gravy with just about anything.... Go there for the culture, the people, the food, the prices, and leave happy. read more

Met the couple that owns this place yesterday, I told them I would stop by and since I woke up early, today was the day. I ordered the meat lover's omelet with bacon, ham, sausage and Swiss cheese. We're new to the area so we're checking it out. This is our favorite breakfast spots so far! Kristin is full of sassy energy and made us feel welcome among the regulars. You know a place is good when it's full of local folks. We were seated right away, but I can see how there could have been a wait. It's on the small side. Our food came out quickly, and our service was attentive. Tables turn over in a reasonable time, so it would be worth waiting. There's also counter seating. The food speaks for itself. My daughter and I had breakfast together thos morning at Kristins. Kristins is tiny, with countertop seating available. The food was good, my daughter ordered a smoked porkchop, hashbrowns and eggs, I had a half and half and scrambled eggs. The good... hashbrown connoisuersnwill rejoice in Kristens crispy well browned hashbrowns. The smoked pork chop was good quality, the sausage gravy was rich and full of sausage. the bad... Coffee wasnt very good or strong, biscuits were listed as homemade on the menu but I watched a girl pull a giant bag of Pilsbury and drop them into butter and fry them on the grill. I submitted a photo of the menu, it clearly states "Fresh baked biscuits". what I got were frozen biscuits... theres a big difference. Kristins also has a thing about putting your eggs on top of the rest of your food, Id prefer to choose what my eggs are touching. The ventilation isnt great-- youre going to smell like breakfast when youre done. The place was clean... but worn. Service was friendly and refills happened often, no complaints about service at all. I wanted to love Kristins. Small diners with counter seating are something I tend to like, but bad coffee, bad ventilation, false menu claims and run down booths kind of put me off. read more

Omg... this place. We found this on Yelp our Last day in town on the way out.. off the beaten track.. parking on the street but we didn't have a hard time either finding it or parking. So freaking cute... TINY!! It's gotta be like 20x40, has about 10 spots at the counter and maybe,4 booths and a couple tables.... but so worth the 5 minute wait til we could sit. (We had to wait outside... it's that small) clean as could be, run by 4 ladies that were there that day and.. great food!! I had the special which was a scramble with zucchini, mushrooms, onions maybe and ... ugh, tomatoes? Can't remember... delicious. Caveman had the meat omelet and loved it. Coffee and unsweetened iced tea filled regularly. Tons of obvious regulars and family... I loved the vibe. Lots of walk ins so it's definitely a neighborhood fav. A great little local breakfast spot in our neighborhood. The owner and staff are very friendly. The food is a home-cooked experience. Most of the clientele are neighbors, a great sense of community. Silvia and I enjoy the omelets here. Great flavor and a good value for the money. Parking is a pain, especially on a Saturday. They have no designated parking lot, so you have to park on the street. Sometimes that's hard to do, especially when the place is packed (it's capacity is only 40 people), but well worth the effort. read more

This place has the best damn hash browns I have ever had!! Ok now for the atmosphere, this is a cute little house that was converted into a diner. It is small but cozy with a pleasant counter service to sit at. I had the campfire scramble with mushrooms and American cheese. My wife had the special DC meats apple sausage with 2 eggs, made from scratch hash browns and toast. She also had a cup of fresh oatmeal. The gravy on my campfire scramble was made from scratch as well! Phenomenal! Employees were very nice and they will do custom orders as well. The coffee was continually hot and fresh! Our cups never got more than halfway empty. Highly recommend this place for a quick wholesome breakfast! read more

This is a great little place to grab a quick and delicious breakfast/brunch! It does not have a lot of seating or space, but the atmosphere and friendly staff make it feel homey. Another great feature, you can watch your meal get prepared and cooked! The food was delicious and you receive a generous amount. The prices were outstanding! For two individuals, who added items to their meals, it was under twenty dollars. The coffee was good, I have had better and I have had worse. The only thing I can say negatively about this homey "Kafe" would be due to its small size, it gets very warm.
