Walked into 2 different doors not one hostess or server to direct you where to go to me that is first clue on the service. The menu looked good that's why we choose it. for fact the first impression turned us away is a shame

We stopped here for a late lunch on our way to Elkhart for a concert! Our server, Sherrie, was phenomenal and definitely a happy employee! She represented their brand 100%!!! Wonderful options on the lunch menu it was tough to choose. Wildfire fries were zesty and delicious. Loved the nice chunks of bacon!! Best wedge salad I've ever eaten! BEST. Hubby loved the meatloaf! Dirty Philly burger was perfection and took half as leftovers! House beers and rosemary lemon drop paired well with the meal. We did buy one of the cakes in a can for dessert but we've not cracked it open yet! No doubt it will be phenomenal!

We went here for lunch seeing that their prices were not bad at all and the food looked sublime. When we walked in the man behind the counter was friendly and helpful. He told us about the bento boxes. Yesterday's had beef brisket with polenta, steak with rice pilaf, French onion soup, and a smoked ham and (I think it was pear) salad with a vinaigrette dressing. When he told us all this, I was expecting a price tag of $25-$30. Nope. $17!!! Deal. So we ordered and sat down. He brought us drinks and we probably only waited for MAYBE 15 minutes and it all came out. And let me tell ya. It was delicious! Steak cooked to a perfect medium-medium rare. The brisket was tender and flavorful. The smoked ham on the salad was to die for, and if I'm being honest I don't like ham. The only thing I would change is instead of a slice of cheese on the French onion I would have preferred some shredded cheese or even some fresh gruyere cheese. But that was minuscule compared to the rest of our experience. Also we found out they make cake in a can! We didn't try any but it sounded beyond interesting. This is a must try for anyone who wants something a bit different than the usual lunch joint.

The Food was awesome!! I had the French dip " just dip". My wife had Chicken sandwich that would fill up a football player. The service was excellent. The food and drinks are high quality. I had a Old fashioned and my had a Cabernet . Extensive wine and bourbon list! We ate here for lunch. This place should be packed! We are here visiting but will be back on Monday. I'll get a steak, they look awesome!!

    Steak tartar

Starting with amazing customer service this place got to five stars before the food even arrived. We got a thorough education on the menu options, beers and operation of the restaurant. We started out with the steak tartar that was served with a raw quail egg still in its shell on top. We dumped the egg over the tar tar, mixed it in and enjoyed it on top of toasted brioche. Imagine I'm saying an inappropriate work right now and prolonging the "uuuuuuuuuu". We also got to sample some aged hot dogs, sliced on toasted brioche with a peanut sauce. Again with the "uuuuuuuuu". Our main course comes out. Hubby had "The Butcher" burger, with a delightful side of green bean fries. and I had the "Hot Doug", with matchstick fries and a spicy ketchup. Hubby loved his burger. And so did I when I took my obligatory share. ;-) It was perfectly cooked, juicy and didn't fall a part. My Hot Doug was a sort of deconstructed hot dog, comprised of sliced duck sausage, each on its own toasted piece of brioche and sprinkled with hot mustard, gravy and fried foie gras. So good. We were too full for dessert, but when the server said "cake in a can" and that we could take it home I said "yes please!" It is exactly as described. A blueberry sour cream cake in a soda can. It's packaged at the same place that their beer is brewed and is pressurized, so make sure to refrigerate until you are ready to eat it and eat it quickly because it is perishable. We ate later that day so it was totally safe and "uuuuuuuuuuu". I can't wait to go back and try out a bento box (it's not sushi) and another cake in a can. "Uuuuuuuuuu."

    Pastrami on rye.

By far the best lunch spot in Mishawaka. I had the house smoked pastrami on rye and it was perfect. It was easily a half pound sandwich with a crusty rye bread that was like no other I have had before and spicy brown mustard. Expensive but worth it. They are only open for lunch. While I didn't get anything from the meat counter it is a butcher shop as well and the cuts they had where of a higher quantity then found at your standard grocery store. You also had the option to buy from the case and for $5 more they would cook it for you.

It's honestly hard to put into words how good this place is. Every server I've ever had here has been incredible. So great at explaining the dishes thoroughly and answering any questions. Now I'd consider myself an "average" burger lover. But omg, I've never had a burger this good in my entire life. I'm from Elkhart originally but moved away for work. Every single time I'm back in town I HAVE to come here. It's that good. Every burger tastes so good but the mushroom truffle one is my favorite. I get that with the truffle fries. Their drinks are also delicious!

11:30am on Saturday Morning... just opened. AC is working great, music playing is lively and perfect for relaxing.

There is no boring food served here! What a fun place to try gourmet aged meats. We had a charcuterie platter and their Daily Special Bento Box. The platter was full of yummy sliced meats, cheeses, bread, mini pickles, dipping sauces/spreads. The Bento Box was a fun mix of gourmet delights. The Butchers Wife salad in the Bento Box was delicious. The brewed ice tea was perfect. On the other hand, my husband didn't love it and he was still hungry afterwards. He thought it was too expensive for what we got. But he was grouchy all day so take that with a grain of salt. ;-)

Thank you Yelp for being on top of my search when in Mishawaka for business. Dig the selection of nice meat in the cooler when you walk in and sat in bar area. I will be back.

One of the best steaks I've had in ages. Our waitress was above, and beyond the food was just terrific. It is a very quaint place to eat.

Surprised my sister for her birthday and it was super tasty. It is in the Corndance Tavern, so that confused me a little bit.

We were seated immediately and our server was very attentive. My wife got a grand sangria, which she absolutely loved, and I got a coke zero. They were very quick with my refills which I find important. We got the queso with brisket for an appetizer and it was very good. For the entrees, my wife got filet mignon and grilled shrimp with garlic mashed potatoes and a salad. I got the blacked redfish, which also had grilled shrimp, lump crab meat and a sauce. I also ordered the brussel sprouts and loaded baked potato soup. Our server came with our salad and soup, and told me they were out of the potato soup and brought me chicken tortilla soup instead. It was alright, but I was looking forward to the potato soup. Our entrees came out and they looked very good. My wife really enjoyed hers. Mine tasted good also, but the fish was undercooked and inedible in places. I ate what I could, but it was disappointing. If the fish had been properly cooked, it would've been a 4 star review. We will come back, I'm all for 2nd chances, but my experience fell short of the mark.

It's not your traditional steakhouse (if you're from California) but the flavors were on point. The atmosphere had a tavern vibe with plenty of tables to accommodate large groups. We started with tortilla soup and Caesar salad which were fantastic. The wine list is very good offering many California wines at a reasonable price per glass. The food was good - however my medium rare filet came out rare and the ribs were slightly dry. However, the sauce for ribs was a 10/10. I have to shout out the Brussels which were the best I've ever had. Service was pleasant and chocolate cake to finish the meal was a decadent ending to a satisfying experience.

We called Crooked Ewe, and they were kind enough to hold a table for us. As it turned out, the patio was perfect for a larger group on a Saturday evening. The atmosphere is laid-back and easygoing. Inside has that cozy, small-brewery feel, while the patio gives you a gorgeous view of the river. Our service was great - friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Overall, we really enjoyed the food, although I thought some of the Asian-inspired dishes could use a little refinement. I ordered the bibimbap bowl with fried cauliflower, cucumbers and onions, shredded carrots and daikon, and kimchi fried rice. The cauliflower was easily the star here! Though the fried rice and other accompaniments could use a bit more flavor and texture. That said, the BBQ was A+. I added a side of brisket, and it was probably some of the best brisket I've ever had. It's a thicker cut and melts in your mouth. My husband and FIL also raved about the wings. One thing to note for families: there isn't a kids menu, but my son was perfectly happy with a cheeseburger and fries. All in all, Crooked Ewe was a great find for our group. We'd definitely come back, especially for those wings and brisket!
